Being locals already we decided to do the brewery tour for £15. What a fabulous evening it was. Trevor was, as usual, the perfect host and Sam was a great brewery guide. It was very informative with pints before it started and an "open" bar at the end where we could pull our own pints till close accompanied by delicious hot pork and stuffing baps (veggie option available). It was excellent value for money and I would recommend it for a great evening out.

I had belly pork, my and my wife and son shared a fish and chips (they kindly brought out a plate) I didn't see a children's menu but they do smaller sizes of main meals. We came here for the brewery tour. We had a great night. Started off with a explanation on how Joules started and how the mouse room was built. We then went on a tour of the brewery which was very interesting and informative and finished back in the mouse room for tasting of the beers and a pork bap. We really enjoyed it and would recommend this to anyone. The rest of the pub is really nice and quaint and although we didn't have a meal here the food looked really nice. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. They also have their own car park.

The beers are always delicious with it being joules, and there's always lots of choice. Welcoming and friendly staff, quick to serve. The pub is cosy and Inviting with cool features and quotes on the walls. First time I had food there, I had the green monkey battered haddock and chips. Beautiful tasting food, the batter was the best I've eaten. Nice n crispy, I added stone ale gravy on but didn't find it that good, just tasted like normal powder gravy. My cousin had the belly pork, everything was really tasty and the garlic mash was amazing. The only thing wrong with it was the crackling pieces were disgusting and tasted off.

Top food, top service, top night! Our workforce decided to visit The Red Lion in Market Drayton for our Christmas works do and could not have left happier. We pre-ordered with Trev via email, we had a few last minute changes due to illness in the office but that was no problem for the fantastic team at The Red Lion. We had a party of around 30 with almost everyone having three courses with pre-drinks and plenty more throughout our evening. The food was cooked perfectly, and the bar staff were wonderful, quickly getting our drinks with a smile on their face all throughout the night. Nothing seemed too much for the wonderful team. A big THANK YOU from to everyone who was involved in the evening, every staff member on the front and behind the scenes gave us the best service we could ask for. We will happily be returning.

Lovely pub with attached brewery. We had the choice of sitting out in the open or in partly private booths. Pub was full, always a good sign. The beer (Joules) was exquisite and the food good, hot, tasty and cheap (though it couldn't possibly have managed the perfection of the beer). Local colour provided by a batty, posh, plastered old geezer (Think Rowley Birkin QC) telling us that Clive of India's house was opposite and that Britain would be so much better if we still had men like that around.

We ate here yesterday having booked several weeks in advance as we had arranged a family holiday in the local area - we were looking forward to enjoying Sunday lunch together. We were seated promptly - my chair felt extremely wobbly and literally on its last legs! I requested to change it and on handing it over to a member of staff, it fell apart! For 14.30 hrs on a lunchtime service, what ensued from the perspective of whoever is in charge of food procurement was unbelievable… I ordered paté however they’d run out of bread to serve it with and crackers were offered as an alternative, I declined. My nephews were really looking forward to the cheesy garlic bread…. again, they had run out! My son ordered the burger but… yes, you guessed it! ‘We’ve run out’ !!! We were moments away from getting up and exiting stage left at this point! Everyone enjoyed their main meal, I was hacked off at having to hack through the roast beef with a butter knife and gave up. I felt sorry for our waitress - none of the above was her fault - the round of complimentary drinks was a nice gesture. This said, I don’t think any of our party will be rushing back any time soon!

We booked a table here because of the recommendations on here, however the food was disappointing. It is dog friendly which is great. There was a reduced menu as it was bank holiday which was fine as there were quite a few choices. We ordered a roast beef roll which came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, and a pork and applesauce roll which came with the same accompaniments. The brioche rolls were burnt, the beef was tough with way too much horseradish and the pork was very fatty. The gravy was delicious though. We didn’t stay for desert. The pub has plenty of tables inside and out, and the staff were friendly.
