The Red Lion in East Lindsey

Ordered a couple of meals 😋 sirloin steak being 1 of them well very large and chuncky oom not sirloin then !!! asked for medium rare just got rare when mentioned to lady behind the bar got told well I am not a chef 🙃 unfortunately will not be returning expected more for the price 😟

We went here for a quick dinner while we were staying nearby on holiday, with our 3 month old. The owners couldn't do enough for us and even put my husband's food back on the hot plate while he attended to our little one. There's a lovely atmosphere here for a small town local pub and the food was really good pub grub with plenty of gravy! Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

While staying at our caravan in chapel st leonards, we searched around for dog friendly pubs and came across this place. Only a 10/15 minute drive from chapel. But worth it. The food was lovely! We both had burgers, Really nice freshly cooked food, the burgers were massive! And the landlady was very welcoming! When we are next down to our van we will definitely coming back here for food. Ideal for taking our dogs with us!

We had 2 x 12oz Ribeye Steaks..... AMAZING...!!!! 1 Cooked medium and 1 well done... ( sorry chef ). The steaks were PERFECTION.... lovely char , flavour and so tender. Could of cut my steak with a butter knife . My other half who is a fussy eater ate it all. First time ever. We were made so welcome by all the staff . I have to say this , .the Ladies toilets spotless. A GEM OF A PUB. ❤️. We will be returning. 🥰. Pauline.

Yes there are plenty of wonderful reviews on here aren’t there?? And yes lots of satisfactory replies from a lady called Kimberley…. However, I tend to agree with the poor reviews, we have been wanting to book the red lion in Mumby for a while now, and unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed, the menu was extremely basic, but was satisfactory,. However, from the moment we stepped through the door we felt uncomfortable The staff were very off guard, despite our friendly demeanour, we felt like a hindrance! As it states in lots of the reviews, the common theme of ‘booking’ yet lots of empty tables, no atmosphere drab decor, and very tired looking, Which would have been acceptable if the staff had of been welcoming. The man behind the bar, was extremely rude, I work in a very stressful environment with the general public, every shift I do is 12 hours long, and see horrific things, but maintain a professional smile, and a good work ethic. I would never speak to anyone the way he did to us! Our bill was over £100 plus! So we’d spent a good amount in there. I have been to lots of good friendly family run pubs, all over the uk, and Kimberley… you can comment… but there is ‘ NO’ excuse for bad manners, especially when you are running a business, and people are paying good money to eat there. Despite your seemingly good reviews, I will NEVER be returning.. and for the record , this is the first and hopefully the last ‘bad’ review I have ever had to write.

Passed this pub and tried on several occasions to make a reservation but always fully booked Eventually got a table and boy was it worth the wait Huge portion of liver and onions (amazing) All the dishes looked amazing and plentiful Well worth a visit

My wife and I plus Molly our dog called in for a meal. We were staying in Anderby Creek and decided to visit for a steak meal. We were not disappointed with the quality, and service was excellent. Plus a superb Sticky T. P. Will go again when we go to the East coast for another break.

nice big car park, big area for children which is fenced in. friendly welcome when walked in, dogs also welcome. big tv and pool table so could get busy when sports are on, we were there when quite which we like. good selection of beers. the food menu had a good selection, i had the lion burger and my wife had the Frikadella. the taste was superb and value for money was fantastic. food stops serving at 7pm. would highly recommend this pub for food ,beer and welcome.

Was in the local area for 2 weeks on a break with some family. The Red Lion become our local for the duration and walked away feeling part of the family, not only of the pub but the local area! The staff and locals really made our trip away and were incredible, so hospitable and welcoming! The food was amazing, very generous portions and high quality. Wouldn't entertain other pubs in the vicinity, by far the best in the area!!!

The Red Lion is a fantastic place to go when on holiday or if you're around in the local area. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the locals are a brilliant group of people. The food portions are incredibly generous, especially considering the price, and the drinks are also very well priced. For the two weeks I was there, it genuinely felt like home away from home, and I couldn't recommend a place any better than the Red Lion.

Popped in when passing. First impressions are that it's newly decorated and looks very nice, well maintained and clean. Very nice welcome from the barman and lovely smile from the young lady waiting tables. They had 3 Batemans ales on XXXB, XB and Gold which were all tasty and in good condition. Play area across from the car park was great, our kids loved it even in the rain. We realised there were lots of dogs in there with their visiting owners but this wasn't obvious immediately as they were all very relaxed and quiet so not an issue at all.

Me and my partner and her 2 young children went here on the 25th August 2023, we were in holiday in Ingoldmells. We decided to go to Mablethorpe for the day and on the way we past The Red Lion pub, and said that looked nice, so on the Thursday we went to have a meal, but when we got there we couldn't, as you need to book, so my partner booked for our last night on the Friday. From start to finish on the Friday night the service was great, we did end up with an elderly lady at the end of our table, but we didn't mind, she was having a drink with 2 men, and she didn't bother us, it's not a massive country pub, but it's perfect, and not rammed. Me and my partner both had steak, and the girls had chicken, and Gammon, the meals were all massive, and delicious, my partner absolutely loved the coleslaw and we should of asked to take some with us, 😊👍We are taking my mum there at the end of September and can't wait, great staff, fantastic service, very friendly, if your ever in the area, you must visit this pub, but remember to book, Thank you to everyone at The Red Lion in Mumby, see you in September. 5 star platinum.

Hubby said he would take me out for lunch so we chose the red lion as we had never been before despite living down the road for 30+ years! I had the mixed grill and hubby had the steak pie, well what can I say! The meat in the mixed grill was cooked to perfection and they certainly don’t scrimp on food! The pie was thoroughly enjoyed too! Definitely will be going again! I would advise booking tho as it was very busy (which is a very good sign)!

Called in for food at 4.15pm was told by a very rude lady that they were fully booked even though the place was empty. Most of tables had reserved notices on them and told her we were eating then, still turned away. Not a good way to encourage new customers, as she definitely didnt have any customer service skills. Needless to say we will not be returning to give it a try.

Called in here for a drink on the way home from a day out. Before getting onto the drink order, it was lucky we didn't want food, there was a sign outside saying there were no tables left, fully booked. I know that it's a very popular place and had considered booking at some point this summer. However despite the sign, when we went in there were only 2 table occupied, when we left only 1 was occupied. I guess they may have bookings due later in the evening, but we were there about 45 minutes so during that time there was plenty of space. As for our order, the drinks we had were very nice, Koppaberg Cider and Guiness, however the bar staff didn't come over as at all friendly, loud and short tempered is the best description of the attitude. We almost certainly won't be returning, there are so many other places we could go on the off chance it's a friendlier atmosphere.

We were staying at a nearby campsite and went there after setting up to get something to eat. They were fully booked. They gave us alternative pubs further afield but took pity on us as we looked very hot and hungry. They managed to fit us in as it was the two of us. We were very grateful.

A friendly welcome as the landlady grreted us by name. An awesome starter followed by a huge ribs special. The food was excellent, fresh, freshly cooked, piping hot and huge portions. The atmosphere was good, very calm and organised and the young waitress could not have been more attentive. I know reviews are subjective, but it is difficult to see how such reviews reflect our experience. As someone else said... It's a shame we only found the Red Lion on our last night. A worthwhile visit and a super experience.

Always like to eat here when staying on the east coast because the food is excellent, good value and really tasty too. Covid measures in place since last year make for a relaxed atmosphere. Booking is absolutely essential to avoid disappointment though.
