We hold our family reunion each year at the New Inn and have nbever been disappointed with the quality of the food and the absolutely superb service. Our largish family gathering were all served within a matter of minutes and not one mishap. Highly recommended for the quality of the food, the ambience and the friendliness.

Lovely welcome from all but especially from Abs (pocket rocket - always on the go, jobs to do but always made time to chat / stroke the dog and, most of all, made every customer feel valued) and owners partner also took time out to make us feel very welcome. Great outside seating area (we have a very large dog), beautiful trough planting to add colour and after walking round the local area this was a great pit stop to refresh and watch the world go past - especially the comedy of big Lorries trying to pass the small single track road through the village. Toilets here cleaner than the campsite we were staying at !! Didn’t try food as didn’t fit times we visited but smelt delicious and menu was good. Very reasonable prices for drinks and this was proven with popularity of venue compared to other ‘no dogs please’ pub just up the road. Really recommend you visit if in the area as I know you will be made to feel very welcome and not charged above what the locals pay which has been sadly apparent in a number ofother small village pubs on our travels.

My wife and I stumbled on this pub on Thurs 29 Feb 2024. Being from a huge City we don’t normally come across pubs like this. Indeed, this pub is a proper village pub. A pub where everyone knows everyone. I’d guess a large portion of people work in agriculture. Anyway… we received a good welcome, considering we were out of towners and had arrived in the dark. Initially we were told that the kitchen was fully booked for food for the night, however, later they kindly told us if we didn’t mind waiting a while they would somehow fit us in. They did fit us in and we both had the Steak & Chips meal. It was very good at a fair price. Staff are pleasant and landlord is very chatty. No problems here and we would call again. Thanks Red Lion.

Great little pub. Good selection of drinks and the food menu looked great but we’d just missed the kitchen as it was a Sunday. Nice and welcoming, sport on the tv, bar staff friendly. We had a nice drink and a packet of crisps!! Although we missed the kitchen the lady behind the bar suggested somewhere we could stop on our way back to Leicestershire, in Ledbury. Found a real nice pub serving food all day. So thanks a lot to that kind lady behind the bar for saving the day!!

As we were staying at the campsite in Pembridge, we decided to have a meal in the village. We saw that The Red Lion had a Fish and Chip night which suited us fine. I have to say they were the finest beer battered fish and chips we have ever had. Crispy batter and crispy chips served with a choice of peas and tartar sauce. It was an absolute treat.

This is just what I would call a NICE pub! We popped in for lunch and whilst the menu isn't by any means massive, it's proper pub food. Pies, steaks, jacket spuds, etc. And best of all, it's not at rip off prices! I had the chicken and mushroom pie with chips, peas and gravy, £10. It was an individual pie with proper pastry, not microwaved, so it was nice and crunchy with loads of generous filling. And the chips were home made! Loads of gravy accompanied it too! The bar maid was a lovely lady called Millie who gave us a really warm welcome and couldn't have been nicer! She's a real asset to the pub. It would be great if every member of staff in a pub were like her! She knows what she's doing and cares about her customers. She poured us a drink and then noticed a small mark in the glass and insisted immediately on changing it. I've encountered so many bar staff lately that can't even pour a pint properly, nevermind care about what they are serving, it seems to be a dying art unfortunately, and this coming from an ex bar maid of over a decade, so I know what I'm talking about! I live only eight miles away and have 5 pubs in town, yet I would return here for a weekday lunch rather than go to those. That speaks volumes. Totally recommended and we'll definitely be back! Thank you 🙂

I absolutely love being in this place and it has a beautifully calm feel. However I am totally astonished by the dolls-house size servings for lunch- at normal lunch prices. I almost asked them if they hadn’t accidentally given me a kiddie’s portion - for a cheaper price- as for over £9 I got two slices of delicious small rye toast, about 7 very small lettuce leaves, 4 olives and a small pot of delicious dip. All very tasty but absolutely not a main course. I know I these are locally sourced ingredients but this felt really wrong. I will definitely return for post lunch coffees but will make sure to eat somewhere else where I can fuel up for lunch before hand.

Pleasant surroundings outside, unfortunately the food was not too a very high standard. Ham and piccalilli sandwich, ham tasteless (wafer thin and breaded, supermarket family pack springs to mind). Should have been advertised as a Piccalilli sandwich, Coffee was fine.

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The menu was varied but not too much choice. We opted for jacket potato and a flat bread. Fresh and well presented.

Been to this lovely pub for Sunday lunch many times, never disappoints. Everything about this place is positive from the lovely friendly staff who can't do enough for you. It is a welcome throwback to how a local pub used to be, a real gem, long may it continues.
