Always a great place to go for a "proper pint" or in my case a bottle of old Mout. They have food trucks throughout the week so there is always something different to eat. Traditional style inside which concentrates on talking to people instead of loud music or sports on the TV. Decently priced and great staff

The Red Lion is a gorgeous traditional pub nestled in the serene Chinnor at the foot of the Chilterns. Well kept beer, period features and a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, this is a true gem of a pub!

I frequently visit this pub or more precisely it's car park because of the quality of the street food vendors that visit there. Dependant on the week night, you may find Pizza, Middle East, Greek, or Burgers to eat at the pub or takeaway. Given I'm usually driving, I don't get much chance to try the available brews inside, but when I've been lucky enough to get a pint, they are always well kept.

Great pub. Interesting selection of beers and ciders, friendly staff. Lucky to have it in the village. I only wish they'd use their website to publish the schedule of the visiting food vans regularly and reliably, then I'd probably visit more frequently.

We had a lovely time at Red Lion. It is a dog friendly place, even though you don’t have your own dog, this allows for a great atmosphere. They serve local beers as well as your classics. Reasonably priced. I’m definitely coming back. At our time of visit, they had Dyllies pizza van parked in the back so we enjoyed ourselves a pizza with our beers. Great time!

Lovely pub, great staff very friendly. Lovely outside area with some of it under cover and some out which is great for all weathers. They usually have a food van (changes all the time) which is great and usually the smell tempts you over. Toilets are always clean, the ceiling height quite low with it being an old pub but nothing alittle ducking doesn't solve

The pub itself is really lovely However in terms of drink prices I would have to give a low score for this. I attended a christening here and I paid £4.55 for a blackcurrant lemonade, which I had to query as the cider I had earlier on was cheaper I was advised by the bar staff that a pint of lemonade is £3.20 but as I had a dash of blackcurrant in it this is £1.35 extra. Personally think this is ridiculous

Altamente recomendado.

We ate here again recently, the day after Our Wedding as we did not want to cook that day for all the family that were still with us. I had pre-booked and the Landlord was most accommodating in catering for our guests [Eg, One Vegetarian Adult who did not want the Nut Roast but preferred Veg Sausages and 2 fussy kids that wanted sausages....sausages were not on the menu but the landlord was able to provide them specially.].I have rated this 'Very Good' as the Sunday Lunch was such good value for money [£6.95 Adults & £4.95 Children]. The Landlord had obviously noted my previous comments so this time around we had lots of roast potatoes and veg, with the offer of more of anything if we wanted it. Well done Landlord! You take note of comments, act accordingly and this is appreciated.

After driving past many times I decided to give it a go. Very traditional in side with an authentic feel. Unfortunately it was the worst lunch I have ever had! I think the lady who was nice enough was slightly embarrassed to serve a panini which was a part baked roll with no salad or crisps. Cut in half to be slightly longer than my index finger. Outrageous! The price charged was a disgrace. Couldn't wait to leave!

Having seen the board outside The Red Lion several times advertising 'Sunday Lunch £6' I decided it was worth trying as even if it was not so good, we wouldn't be losing much. BUT, having booked 12 of us in at very short notice, what a gem this pub turned out to be. We were welcomed into a real old-fashioned English pub where the Sunday lunch choice was Roast Pork or Roast Beef - both with all the trimmings. This meant, succulent roast potatoes, tasty yorkshire puddings, 4 different vegetables and tender meat, all beautifully cooked and pork crackling that just melted in one's mouth. I didn't take much notice of the other puds as my treacle sponge with cream was 'to die for', and Emma, our young waitress who was the Landlords daughter was utterly delightful. This will be a regular Sunday Lunch venue for all of us in the future and, a real treat for the 'Real Ale' lovers amongst you.

It was lovely to return to The King William for the first time in a few years. We were made very welcome with our dog by the cheerful young server. The menu had a good mixture of pub classics and more inventive dishes. We enjoyed fish and chips, sea bass and the most well cooked and served burger ever. It was obviously home made, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Puddings of sticky toffee, eton mess and an affogato were fresh and delicious. The fire was roaring, the food was great, staff were super kind. What a fine lunch!
