We also booked the The Lazy Lion today our friend’s surprise birthday lunch , I actually went into the pub a month ago to book this. Our friends had driven for four hours for this . Absolutely disgusting as the landlord had our phone number and must of known before today and could have contacted us so we could have sort something else out.

Have been to the Lazy Lion on many occasions over the years, including breakfast, dinner, lunch, and just drinks. The food is always of a high quality that is only better by the service that is offered. A really great place that must be on the stop off list when you are in Milford.

Well - I have been treated appaulingly today by The Lazy Lioin Milford on Sea. I made a booking for my sons birthday for three adults and two children online. Had confirmation by email. I arrived there awaiting my family to be told in not a very nice way by the blond/red head manager (or owner) that my booking didn't stand because he had sacked the manager the week before! Lovely place, great food, nutty owner (whose humour made the place more appealing). Attentive staff, good beer, what more could you want. Definitely recommend.

We had a very pleasant one night stay here. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the evening, which tasty and good value, along with a good selection of real ale and wine. Breakfast the following morning was also very nice. It was a bonus to have a leisurely check out by 11 o'clock as it was chucking it down outside! We'll be back for sure.

We have just enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Lazy Lion. Could not recommend this gem highly enough. We were treated so well from start to finish. On arrival the young staff offered to carry my bags when showing us our room. Room was clean, bed large and very comfortable. Loads of nice touches in the room such as lovely china and glasses, loads of tea, coffee and biscuits. Fresh bottled water, large towels, cushions and throws. Room was homely and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and had the salad, fish and chips, mussels and raspberry and chocolate cake. All well presented and great taste and value for money. The hotel owner was very friendly and made us feel as if we’d known him for years. Breakfast was included and was easily the best breakfast experience in any hotel I have visited. No booking time slots, just pitch up when you’re ready to be greeted warmly. The staff go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and service is speedy. Tables set with nice cutlery, good quality condiments and sauces, linen napkins, cereal and homemade granola and a great choice of hot food. Good quality ingredients. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was my favourite but the full English was also excellent. We were full all day from our breakfasts. So overall we thoroughly enjoyed and would return in a heartbeat.

Just had Sunday roast here, service was non existent once you were seated. No body came to check if meal was ok and no one came to clear the table . The meal itself was overcooked roast potatoes, hard yorkshires, very fatty beef and vegetables were either overcooked or undercooked. We waited quite a while for table to be cleared and gave up in the end as you could overhear the staff apologising for delays to other diners. Best advice we could give us save your money and go elsewhere. Very poor quality and expensive and definitely not worth it and very short staffed.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon for roast dinner. Disappointed that a huge dog with 2 owners were allowed to sit at the side of me at the next table in bar area. It was quite a good weather day so why were they not asked to sit outside in the garden? No one asked if I minded this huge dog by my side. The roast came up, extremely burnt roasted potatoes to the extent that they were inedible and the beef was undercooked - presentation was meat and potatoes on warm, not hot, plate with everything else dumped on top in middle of plate. Very disappointed with quality of this roast dinner for the price and the burnt roast potatoes…staff, 2 youngish lads far too occupied with chatting to each other rather than asking customers if everything ok or I could have had their attention and pointed out that, no, my meal was not ok! Poor quality food and very bad customer service!

Two visits in the past week at the Lazy Lion, for afternoon drinks in the lovely beer garden and also for a family evening meal. On both occassions the friendly staff, the quality of service shone through. Food was very good indeed. Thank you and see you again when we are back in the UK.

I stayed in room 2. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The room was looking tatty. I think the least I can expect is a comfortable bed. Other rooms that were empty looked in better condition. It seems they let room 2 first and probably have done so CE it opened. Hence that room was so worn out. The breakfast was good and the bar seemed popular with people eating. It is centrally located in Milford. I don't think the room I had was worth the money I paid. The staff were helpful. I did inform the lady I paid at reception that I was unhappy with the bed.

The Lazy Lion is a very welcoming and friendly pub. We visited for lunch along with our dog Luna. There was no hesitation in providing a bowl of water for her and a few biscuits! 😁. The lunch was superb. Hubby opted for the lamb shank and I had homemade cottage pie followed by homemade bread & butter pudding with a twist ( it had banana in it). The meal was delicious and we would highly recommend. Staff are super friendly and made you feel very comfortable. When we return to Milford on Sea at some point in 2024 The Lazy Lion will definately be our go to place for food.

We were so impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service we experienced. Excellent swordfish and my husband really enjoyed his perfectly cooked filet steak. And the food was piping hot! Well done to all the staff, a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We’ve just had the valentines set meal at the Lion. It was excellent. Huge prawns in light batter on skewers. Gorgeous fillet steak, and fillet of sea bass. Both were brilliant, much better than a lot of the local establishments who consider themselves to be superior by name and reputation. Decided to go here for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed! The pork loin was delicious and there were plenty of tasty veg to go with it along with a Yorkie pud. Good service too. Great value for money, will come again!

Our ladies' group and partners had our annual January dinner at the Lazy Lion - 21 of us. I can't praise Ian, Debbie and their staff highly enough. We had a wonderful evening. Debbie had prepared a set menu with choices specially for us at a very reasonable cost. The food was excellent, everyone said so, and service was perfect. This was our second stay at The Lazy Lion and will definitely not be the last! Perfect location for the village with everything that you could want for a relaxing stay, whether travelling for business or pleasure. Iain and his wonderful team make you feel like you are visiting family, such a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful with wonderful little touches like bone china mugs and luxurious cushions and throws to make it more homely, the bath towels are amazing too and the beds very comfy! The rooms are cleaned to such a high standard, not one spec of dust anywhere, which makes such a nice change. We have exhausted the breakfast options in Milford on Sea and I can honestly say, that the Lazy Lion breakfast is my favourite of all. Can recommend rooms 1 and 3 but 4 and 5 are on my list book asap 😊

Lovely warm welcome from staff and the log fire, for us 3 and our Cocker Spaniel. Food was gorgeous ( highly recommend homemade Cottage Pie) good selection of Ales, a great choice we made to shelter from the monsoon rain. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed between Christmas & New Years for 3 nights, visiting family. Room 4 which is situated at the front. Nice & Cosy, shower to die for. You do get some high street noise but only to be expected. Room good size and nicely decorated. Food very tasty, 3 excellent breakfasts and 1 evening meal. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good location, short walk to the sea front, variety of shops in the high street. Car park is limited but we managed ok. Will definitely be staying again :D

We had the most delightful family lunch today. Iain and his team truly went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The food was exceptional, and the service was consistently prompt and all the staff were polite throughout. Iain’s brilliant humour and jokes added a delightful touch to the atmosphere, making our New Year’s Day celebration even more special. We are eagerly looking forward to returning to enjoy the splendid hospitality again in the near future. Highly recommended for a fantastic dining experience!

A lovely pub with exceptionally friendly staff. We called in for a lunchtime drink but decided we’d have a light lunch too: the meat sharing platter was a perfect solution offering crispy beef along with calamari and various dips, olives etc.. There’s a choice of real ales and being Christmas Eve I tried the Christmas Cracker - quite dark and very tasty indeed. There’s a small car park to the rear. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fab place. We visited twice for drinks during a short break in Milford on Sea. We were warmly greeted by friendly staff on both occasions and the service was excellent. We were so impressed that we booked for dinner on our third night. Again we had a wonderful greeting, super service from friendly, entertaining staff and our food was excellent. Lovely atmosphere - I can't recommend highly enough. If you're in Milford then please pay The Lazy Lion a visit.

We booked the Lazy Lion for a short break to relax and unwind. The pub is in the middle of Milford On Sea and easy to walk to all the amenities. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our comfortable room. The bar area was really nice and had good bar food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was included and was delicious.
