Fab meal to celebrate a birthday

Stopped by The Red House on a whim, and wow — what a pleasant surprise. The food was outstanding, plain and simple. You can tell the kitchen knows what it’s doing; everything I tried had bold, balanced flavors without being over-the-top. The vibe is unpretentious but stylish, and the staff made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. It’s the kind of place you end up telling your friends about the next day. I’ll definitely be back — next time with an even bigger appetite.

Visiting the area on holiday and chose The Red House for our anniversary meal based on past reviews. We were not disappointed - proved to be a very enjoyable evening meal at a very affordable price. Whilst all of the staff were really nice, helpful & friendly (even giving us a handwritten card to celebrate our anniversary) one member of staff was exceptional in making the experience so special. If you're lucky enough to be waited on by Enrique then you are in for a treat. Managed to combine efficiency with friendliness and a very good sense of humour. Checked we were OK throughout the meal without being intrusive. Food was fab btw. If we lived locally this would be our place to eat regularly. Looks like they have a winning team there as everyone went about their duties with a smile on their face. Thank you to all at The Red House. You deserve a round of applause for your efforts.

We booked bottomless brunch for 5, the food was really good, especially the all day breakfast and steak. The drinks were limited choice wise but they were good cocktails and the staff were very attentive to ensure we always had a drink.

This place has been a regular for me and my family for months now. Every visit is great and the service is unmatched. Kenan and Grace are lovely, we look forward to seeing you every week.

We go here at least once a week and the food and service is always perfect. Staff are always warm and welcoming and their attention to detail of our preferences is second to none. The managers are incredibly professional, Grace in particular is lovely, always takes the time to have a catch up and talk to our children (she even knows their names). Keep up the great work, Red House staff.

Don’t think we shall be returning! A girlie get together turned sour because of the dire service we received by the chaotic staff! We had several waiters serve us all of which did not seem to have a clue once the drink order was made to what was brought back to us - we had a drink spilt by one waitress who quickly gave us blue roll to clean it up ourselves by which time it had seeped through the gaps and wet my legs leaving me with soggy jeans! At the end of our brunch we all settled our bill with the waitress and then we went outside to wait for our lifts home Several hours later the organiser had a voice note to ring the Red House and pay the outstanding bill of £109 - totally confused coz we all paid at the table and all have receipts!! The organiser rang and after a few hours of investigating the Red House said it was a mistake on their part and no further money needed!! Totally unacceptable for the distress caused!

As a couple and family we have visited the Redhouse Lilleshall on a regular basis but even so I was still a little nervous when booking for three events in eight days. Fear not everything was perfect. Took my mum for mother's day and despite a very busy restaurant the meal was great. Hot tasty food served by happy friendly staff without lengthy delays. Each dish looked good and was well presented despite a busy kitchen nothing was amiss. Another positive no inflated price rise as it was a special occasion which I find really annoying especially when it is the same menu as a normal Sunday. On the Wednesday dined with two friends to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary and three of the party ordered from the two courses for £22s. We were expecting slightly smaller portions but no, portion size good and again no issues at all and for a Wednesday evening busy but not too noisy or crowded, you were able to talk and catch up without shouting or struggling to hear. Sunday lunch saw nine of us celebrate my mums birthday and again amazing food, attentive staff and a lovely touch a cake for the birthday girl. Nine different choices all arrived hot and well presented and no long delays or wait. I do not need an excuse to revist but the Redhouse is definitely my to go place for a celebration. We went for a bottomless brunch there but the service was slow, I waited a while for my drink which got mixed up with a mocktail and one member of staff tipped 2 drinks over the table! The next day, the party organiser received a phone call to say we owe over £100 for drinks we had outside afterwards when we only took the drinks we already had there! They admitted for also calling other people to say they owed them as well! They were disorganised and had no idea what was going on. This is not acceptable at all and it is disappointing.

I would strongly advise future guests to carefully review their bills when attending the bottomless brunch here. After the event, I received a phone call claiming that we owed £110 for additional drinks, despite only participating in the brunch and waiting outside for our ride afterward. When I requested a detailed breakdown of the charges, I was given vague verbal information, none of which matched anything we had ordered. We firmly stated that we would not be paying for the disputed charges, as we had not consumed any additional drinks. Shockingly, I was then informed that other tables had been contacted for the same "outstanding balance" issue. Rather than addressing the situation with care and confirming the details before accusing us, we were prematurely expected to pay for something they weren’t even sure about. To make matters worse, a friend in a separate party confirmed that they had experienced a similar issue, where additional drinks were incorrectly added to their tab, forcing them to dispute the charges. The entire experience was chaotic and incredibly frustrating. On top of the billing issues, I had a drink spilled on me and my phone, and service was painfully slow due to the venue being overbooked. I deeply regret not voicing my complaints sooner, but overall, I will not be returning. Management needs further training in both customer service and billing practices.

9 of us went for bottomless brunch yesterday, service was ridiculous slow the server tipped 2 drinks over our table at different occasions now I understand how a bottomless brunch works but for 9 of us to only have 3/4 drinks each when we're paying £35 a person is unacceptable when we finished the brunch we took what we had left of our drinks outside to sit in the sun until lifts arrived to pick people up, for us then to get a call at 20 to 11 last night then another call this morning to say we owe over £100 for drinks we had outside, we did not order drinks outside, after a long conversation with the red house they said they weren't even sure if the drinks were ours but rang us to pay the bill anyway! The red house saw 9 women who had had a drink and thought they could take advantage of us! As this is a local pub that many of us have been a number of times a can guarantee that none of us will ever be returning here! They had no idea what was going on they had to many people booked in, I dread to think how many people this has happened to people who may of just paid the extra instead of questioning it like we did, totally unacceptable especially from such a well regarded pub! We are do disgusting and really left a bad taste in our mouths stay away for bottomless brunch!!

I first ate at this place in my teen years when it was a Cavalier steak restaurant during the 1970's and was one of our favourite go-to places for a good value bite to eat. Having since moved away from the area it was great to pay it a visit today for a get-together with friends from that bygone era. Not surprisingly it had changed almost beyond recognition but they were all good. Staff were courteous, friendly and service prompt. The menu was varied and we really were spoilt for choice. The food was excellent and well-presented. Must admit expectations were high after reading some of the reviews beforehand but those expectations were well met and will look forward to another visit sometime soon, I hope.

Never been hear before so drove past and decided to give it a try, food was beautiful but service was non existent even had to go up after 10 minutes and grab our own drinks off the bar, no check back on food or anything, a passing barman cleared our plates and took our dessert order he was great!

A lovely lunchtime visit which was made by the attentive staff. Our waiter, Ryan, was particularly helpful and had an approachable, fun but conscientious attitude.

Very disappointing meal. I ordered Caesar salad with chargrilled chicken. The chicken was undercooked and pink which I pointed out to the waiter. The meal was replaced by which time the other person I was with had finished eating her meal. So we ate separately. The salad was mediocre at best for the price, probably the worse Caesar salad I’ve eaten… and I’ve had a few! Whilst there was an apology no money was taken off the bill which is poor. I didn’t want to further ruin the night by raising it with the waiter. I don’t think the onus should be on the customer to do so, basic customer service lacking.

Ollie WJ is the only reason this review is 2 star. I had had a steak with chunky chips and we discovered what we could only conclude as a winged bug attached to one of the chips!!!! I showed this to a waitress who very quickly sorted me a new lot of chips. I do have to say that the steak was cooked perfectly but the dish was let down by the chips situation. However, a member of management did try to justify it was a growth from the types of potatoes they use, even though he stated they are peeled and chopped so you can imagine our confusion at this plus it very clearly had legs. I understand that these things happen but I felt like he was trying to tell me I was wrong! Probably because there was a large table behind us. It was eventually dealt with in a satisfactory manner where we had the meal removed from the bill. For desert we were told by another member of staff on the white chocolate and banoffee cookie dough desert we ordered that we couldn't swap the banana ice cream for vanilla so I had to choose a different one but Ollie WJ did get this sorted and made it happen. The member of staff was on their first shift but in this industry you should know to just check with someone who's worked there a few shifts or with management so a little confused about the misalignment here. In summary, management do need to address this and ensure that staff are trained and equipped with what is available etc like Ollie WJ is or introduce a shadowing scheme for new staff; as this is basic.

Absolutely delicious meal, our first time visiting and we’ll definitely be back. Our server Cam was great, very friendly and made us feel super relaxed. Both our meals were just faultless and so tasty! Although in the end it didn’t affect our meal on arrival we were told we only had the table for 1:15mins (as standard for 2people bookings) which we weren’t aware of and were concerned that we wouldn’t have time for more than once course. We did stay and enjoy puddings and weren’t rushed from our table at any point but I do think that time window for a meal is rather short. We will definitely return though 100% happy with the food, service and atmosphere.

Solid upgrade for what used to be an unremarkable pub outside my home village and is now at the mid-top end of the gastropub spectrum. Took mum there on a recent visit and we enjoyed excellent friendly service (thanks, Cam) and well made, tasty food in reasonable portions with interesting flourishes (tempura capers are something I will have to have a crack at in my own kitchen). If you’re local and haven’t checked in at this place since it had a Wacky Warehouse I’d recommend another look.

Excellent food, location and service!

The second we walked in the service was amazing, all the staff were so lovely and welcoming and the food was delivered quick and tasted beautiful, we were celebrating a birthday and got a lovely card from the staff as well as a suprise treat (which tasted delicious!!) The atmosphere was gorgeous and it is wheelchair accessible too. I highly recommend this place to everyone ☺️

We had a lovely evening meal here, with Enrique making our time relaxed, fun and everything arriving promptly. We would highly recommend! The panko chicken and the chicken skewers are a personal favourite, with great vegan options too!

Got the atmosphere and food on point

Attended last week for a post birthday meal with friends. The venue is beautiful and food was excellent as always. The staff were polite, attentive, helpful and even brought over some surprise cakes and sang happy birthday! Highly recommend.

Excellent food. The Sunday roast one of the best we have ever had (best of both) amazing service as well from Ollie and the others who served us. Went beyond expectations for a birthday celebration. The espresso tiramisu is amazing as well! Definitely add the honey pigs in blankets as well to a roast as they were delicious! Probably my favourite of the paragon pubs and will definitely be returning soon!

Went for bottomless brunch and loved it, whilst there isn't a vast choice of cocktails they are certainly not reduced in alcohol like anywhere else I've been too. Staff amazing.

Service was good and staff very attentive. Food was extremely disappointing. Gnocchi was over cooked and soggy. Curry sauce for Thai skewers was overly salty, only to be told that they don't make it there but it is pre-made elsewhere. Chicken pie was dry and bland with no gravy or sauce. Suet pudding was ok.... just ok!, but what was the crusty dried up lump on top of it? Overall well below expectations and certainly not worth the price charged.

We came for a late supper /reunion. The food was fantastic all around, pizzas, salads, burgers and gluten free options. Our waiter was super, funny and accommodating. Would recommend The Red House on all counts. Thank you team x
