Had booked room in February for Sat and Sunday in June. Was informed by hotel 3 days before we were due yo go it had been overbooked and our room was not available. They said we could have Sunday and Monday for same price but that was no good to us. Arrangements were made for Saturday and Sunday. Leave booked off and things booked. It has totally messed up our break and I find it hard to believe that it was not highlighted sooner so we could have found somewhere else. Everywhere is fully booked for Saturday. If you are booked in I would suggest you call and check with them. We had been sent confirmation letter back in February when booked but it meant nothing. They offered free bottle of wine.

Excellent service and great food very comfortable accommodation

First visit today, and I guarantee it won't be our last. Absolutely fantastic restaurant with lovely surroundings

Absolutely lovely. Firstly a big well done to the staff, it is a long time since I have been welcomed to an establishment so warmly. The girl behind the bar was simply lovely. Food was fab, so was the wine all served speedily and with a smile. Well done keep it up..

Marianne and I booked for a meal at the redecorated Queens at Horton on Friday 11 February 2022. Our table was in the lighter decorated middle room which feels much more welcoming since its make over. The food continues to be very good although the real ale is still not as good as I would like. Visited for the first time since lockdown on Saturday 10 October 2020 for a lunchtime meal . The Queen's has Covid secure features in place with gel handwash stations available as customers enter the Queen's. The staff are all wearing masks and tables are disinfected after customers leave. The food was very nice and not too filling with excellent ' not rushed' service. If you want a relaxing meal I think this could be the place to try. Still feel that the real ale quality could be improved.

Spacious, comfortable rooms with an affordable breakfast.

Met friends for lunch. Relaxed environment excellent food, we had the gammon, steak pie and smothered chicken burger. Everyone very happy with both meals, dessert and cost with drinks only £30 per head

Amazing been a few times recently always fantastic food. The atmosphere is lovely I love sitting I the conservatory. Many locals use it and dog friendly

The Mothers day roast today was absolutely fantastic, quality and portion size were tremendous. The service was brilliant too, the young ladies were very chatty, polite and efficient. Job well done guys we will defo be back

I recently dined at The Queens at Horton and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Firstly, the service was incredibly poor and slow. It seemed like the staff were more interested in chatting and playing on their phones than attending to customers.Furthermore, the bar area was uncomfortably cold, making it difficult to enjoy the ambiance. The bar staff seemed indifferent to this issue and showed little concern for the comfort of their patrons.As for the food, it was average at best. The quality did not match the prices charged, and the flavors were lackluster. Overall, I would not recommend dining at The Queens at Horton if you're looking for good service and quality food.

Very good atmosphere, great food! Three courses on Sunday for £22.25 amazing price and value for the food. We went for the garlic mushrooms, the queens royal Sunday lunch and the baileys cheesecake! Wow wow. Couldn't recommend this place enough. This is one of our locals and we have a pleasant time every visit. The waitress we had was called Ruby. A very lovely girl. Very chatty and helpful. I'm a manager in a restaurant and her customer service was on top! Thanks again Ruby.

We had a family birthday celebration last night. For a party if 24 and there was another large celebration in tge conservatory at the same time. The service was excellent on time hot food that tasted good we couldn't ask for more. Ruby our front of house was excellent and ensured drinks and the meals arrived timely with zero errors . Highly recommended the Queens for any celebration good food and service so you enjoy your celebration. Well done Amey & Team

Heard great things about it, my sister raves about it but myself and my wife weren't that impressed to be honest and for the prices of the food it wasn't amazing. It was nice don't get me wrong but not amazing. We had to pre order the day before, we asked what the soup of the day was, we were told tomato.. two of our group don't like tomato soup, myself being one of them. My daughter loves tomato soup.. so she had that and I had to order a different starter. When my daughter got her soup it was vegetable and she was gutted and the lovely bread she was looking forward to was a slice of loaf brown bread. And I could of actually had the soup. Doh.. We asked what's the soup of the day, the waitress had to ask.. we asked what's the cheesecake of the day, again she had to ask. These are things when paying so much they should know. And finally which wasn't stated on the menu I don't think, atleast I never saw it. On top of our bill was a 10% service charge..

I wouldn’t recommend!! The staff don’t care. Have attitude and the manager is even worse. He has no customer care skills and just basically takes your money and all he cares about. Rang and complained when left and no point as staff are useless and have no idea what’s happening! Avoid!!!!

On arrival staff very pleasant arrived early our table was ready so seated us promptly Ordered pate for starter which was delicious and plentiful could not finish it all Mains I had small plate of gammon which was also delicious My husband had steak which unfortunately wasn’t to his liking it was a little gristle but overall would definitely recommend and it’s dog friendly, will definitely return with our dog next time

Excellent throughout, very friendly service, good choice of courses. The main meals arrived promptly, well presented and plenty on the plates. Tasty and enjoyable, as were the desserts. Much recommended.

Stayed 2 nights as a 60th birthday pressie. Had seen the pub on 4 in a bed. Welcomed by friendly staff, lively evening with music until late. ..as advised in advert. Breakfast fab, again welcomed by very friendly Tina who was serving and also housekeeping lady.....immaculate. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast next day just as good as first. We will return. Thank you.

Lovely meal here. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was so lovely. Cheesecake was the best I’ve ever tasted. (( it was my Mums Birthday and they put a candle on the cheesecake and wrote Happy Birthday)) (( last minute )) so attentive, so many thanks for that. We went for a family birthday. The service was poor. Food portions were big my gammon was so salty I had to leave over half of it IThe fish didn’t look or taste like cod more like colley. I had to sit through my meal listening to 3 members of staff standing by the kitchen talking about their weekend instead of serving the customers in the restaurant.

Visited as a group of friends 10 in total. Arranged for leaving drinks. Lovely looking book and bar has a busy vibrant and cosy atmosphere. Decor is lovely. Bar staff really friendly and efficient. Drinks great value for money. Didn’t plan on eating but decided to go for light snacksx chicken gourgons were ordered and I had the Pitta chips with goats cheese dip which were delicious. Also had portion of chips which were great portion size and again great valve for money. Despite ordering food separately all served together grease hot and very tasty. Overall great pub with great service and would certainly visit again

We visited in December & ordered from the Christmas menu. Plenty of choice & something for everyone on there. The service was really good, the staff were friendly, efficient & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. All the food came out well presented & it was really tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food & we would definitely return.

This is a lovely place to pop to after a busy day shopping. Warm and welcoming and well priced. Modern with an oldy world feel. My only criticism is the lighting. It's way too low. People were using their phones to read the menu. Nothing a few floor lamps would not fix. Lots of parking space and a lovely outdoor covered area with heating.

Went for dinner with some friends. Good choice on the menu. We all found something we wanted to eat and all sent empty plates back to the kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Service was good, staff were very pleasant. Lovely evening all round.

Hired out a room for my sisters baby shower and couldn't fault it. The food was delicious catered for all, the staff couldn't do enough for you and the room was beautiful. Will definitely be using again if I have any events/ family meals planned. Thanks again!

We are currently staying here for 2 Nights for a little rest Geat rooms very clean and modern Breakfast amazing and so is the the evening dinner Staff so pleasant throughout so helpful I would definitely stay here again

Although we had visited before for food and drinks we had never stayed over. Our room was very tastefully decorated and spacious, bathroom had lovely big walk in shower and lovely soft bath sheets. We dined in the restaurant which was quite busy for a Monday evening, food was beautiful and staff were friendly and attentive. Would definately recommend a stay here

Visited with friends for a leisurely lunch midweek. Busy, but not too much so (friends had booked) good menu, extra specials menu, and prompt service. Wife & I had Fish pie and it was Delicious! Hot, largeish pie with green veg but it was lovely. Had to share a pud ( Cream brulee) but that was equally tasty. We will be back!

Been ayear since we have been here and it will be a lot longer till.we go again. The starters were barely warm and the butter milk chicken did not taste like what it claimed to be. On the main course the chips were totally inedible you coildnt pick them up they were so crispy they disintegrated when you tried to pick them up. We asked for the bill and then waited over 20 minutes before i had to go and find 3 staff around by the till and ask again for the bill. When the bill came we had five pounds off which was a gesture but considering we couldn't eat some of it and the aervice was poor it still felt like we paid for something we didn't get. Used to be a favourite of ours but now a place to avoid .

We went out to celebrate my friend's 70th birthday and my 65th birthday. My friend had fish chips and mushy peas. I had lasagne. The fish and chips great. My lasagne was nothing like any lasagne I've ordered my friend has eaten before in our life's. It was mincemeat filled the pot. No layers, of the lasagne. Just a thick layer of cheese on the top. The mincemeat was very dry. The side salad was covered in a oilily dressing, which I couldn't eat. The young girl offered me to have the meal boxed so I could take it home. ( my face must of looked horrified) as she soon walked away from our table quickly. Everyone else's meals looked amazing, but no one I could see had the lasagne. Sad to say I won't be ordering lasagne there if I was to go again. The other meals on the menu, things I can eat was sold out. As I said all other meals looked amazing.

Lovely place to relax and enjoy good food. Pleasant and polite staff, an enjoyable experience, we have been here on several occasions and can't fault it.

We went for a meal in the restaurant. Food was very good and the service from behind the bar and the waiters was top notch. The beer was just as good as the food too.

Visited recently for an evening Meal. Beer was great, same I could not say the same for the food. A member of our partly had the veg curry & paid £4.95 on top of the £14.95 for the privilege of adding chicken . Curry sauce...

Hello TO THE OWNER OF THE QUEEN Horton Pub. We have not stayed at your place yet, we watch channel 4 B&B on 23rd of August 2023. We loved the way you had decorated the rooms we saw on the TV, they where lovely. The breakfast looked very nice too. We had a party of 8 all meals pre booked as asked when phoning up. My meal was nice and looked small for the price but it was very filling and all the meats were nice and juicy.. I couldn't fault it, the Steak and Ale Pie was excellent, Fajitas were good and the Brisket Burger, the Ham egg and chips they had the ham was too fatty, (had an email from the queen's and they did say if we had said at the time they would have replaced the ham) mash and peas my son loved it. All the desserts were really, we had gooey chocolate brownie with ice-cream, brownie sundae, and jammy dodger. All the staff at the bar and servers were very polite. The location and pub were stunning as you can see from my pictures.

Visited as a group of ten on a Sunday lunchtime. Food and service were excellent. Huge portions and an extensive gluten free menu. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and very clean. Will definitely be returning

Popped in as was passing and can't wait to go back. Location beautiful, decor stunning, every room has its own character and staff were really lovely. Plenty of parking and easy access for wheelchairs, seating inside or out and food prices good. We had light bite ham, egg and chips and was large portion and we'll worth the money, £9.95 but would of paid £12-14! Looking forward to bringing family back, thankyou so much for making us feel welcome x

Ordered halloumi salad . Very bland and dry with no dressing and extremely expensive with a service charge .I will not return.Very disappointed

Absolutely amazing little place. We stayed the night for a funeral up here and can't fault the staff at all. Really helpful went above and beyond to support us with everything we needed for our stay. We came back after for some food and that was brilliant as well. Reasonably priced and fantatsic quality. Glorious views of the wheatfield and beyond so get a chance to visit if you can!

Have heard good things about The Queens for a while now and thought we would try it out as a birthday treat. We didn't pre book a table, however the staff were lovely and quickly seated us in the restaurant after we ordered drinks at the bar. We both had a starter and a main, which were beautiful. I cannot fault the food whatsoever. Very flavourful and cooked to perfection! The portions were huge, and I felt bad for leaving some on my plate. We will definitely be back again 🙂

Excellent meal, had the Queen's steak, which is a combination of steak, pork sausages, omelette, mushrooms, black pudding and some chips to go with it. I truly love the meal and the staff are truly friendly, and supportive as well. I would re-visit once I have the chance to.

We went to this pub a couple of years ago and were very impressed. This time we had a mixed grill each, the sausages were undercooked ant the gammon was the saltiest. We’ve ever tasted. Didn’t feel that the manager was really concerned about complaint. Will not be going again. Hope that they improve otherwise in this financial climate the may not survive.

We visited on Tuesday 4th July. I ordered the sirloin steak, my wife the lasagne. My steak was inedible, the lasage was watery and tasteless. At no point during the meal did anyone ask us how the food was. When a staff member came over...

We booked for dinner for four. The portions were sizeable and very tasty. Really good value and a good range of food choices. Service was good and all in all, a nice meal out. Will definitely be back.

Had Sunday lunch. Can't fault the staff they were polite and helpful and worked hard. Sadly the food was very under par. Roast potatoes were hard, so much so that my 8 year old granddaughter had to ask her grandma to cut through them as she couldn't! Never had that before. On top of that they'd run out of horseradish sauce at 2pm on a Sunday. Just not the standard it used to be . Sorry will look elsewhere now

Sunday lunch, absolutely awful. Three of us all had different meats. All terrible. Looked and tasted liked boiled meat. Wouldn't have given it to my dog. Felt sorry for the staff. As for the rest of the lunch. Just as bad. Hadn't been for a while. Never again...

The worst services I ever had in a restaurat all over the UK… and at the end… to see a service bill of £110+ for doing nothing…. And also asking them to bring plates when needed (share starters and cake)… awfull!!!
