Lovely fresh cooked food and friendly service. The huss was particularly good and the chips were very flavoursome and crisp without being greasy. A wide variety of food is offered including some great vegetarian options . Would definitely recommend Steve's as the best chip shop food I've had.

Been using Chris's for s few years always been excellent but now new owners not so good medium cod was more batter than fish not good will try once more and post another review once the new owners have settled in.

Just payed for fish and chips for my family and the food did not turn up and all the shop said was to call just eat the shop did not care that left us with out food and im money down as the shop had my money bad show everyone best stay away from this shop.

Fish and chips delivered last night - the fish was lovely and fresh with a light batter. Good chips and massive portions! We ordered large cod and chips each but couldn't manage all the chips so we had chip butty for lunch today! This was the best fish and chips we've had locally and we'll definitely buy from there again.

Cooked to order and delivered. Excellent fish with a light crispy batter. Would have liked portion to be a little larger for the cost though. Chips are a little on the dry side, could have been crispier but overall good. Have had their fish and chips a few times now and would recommend them. There is parking outside and the people are friendly. Will be going there again.

I can honestly say that this is the best fish and chips we have had. Everything was cooked fresh and the fish was really tasty. A very enjoyable meal! We will be visiting more often

Everything was cooked to order and was lovely just very very small portions We ordered large cod and small Chips but was disappointed with the size for the price.

Nice fish and chips and kids meals were a good size the only thing was the wait but probably down to traffic. We all enjoyed the food.

My first online order. Ordered at 4.45pm for 5.30pm delivery. Didn’t expect our food to be delivered so quick. Amazingly it came at 5.33pm! It was hot, fresh and tasty. Impressed that it came in a cardboard box to and not a polystyrene container👍Which makes it soggy. Overall very impressed and will definitely be ordering from here again.

Our order was two hours late, and when it finally arrived was lacking one of the items. Intially they offered a free bottle of coke for the delay, and once the item was missing from our order, they initially offered a full refund which was fair. Half an hour later they called back to say they were only refunding the missing item. So unprofessional and inexcusable lateness. Would not order from here again, I have never before experienced someone to cancel their refund after it's offered. Don't order from here.

Ordered 3 burgers last night for delivery, THE WORST burgers we have ever had. Cheap burgers that made MCDonalds look gourmet, lettuce (if you can all it that), that was a limp scattering of yellowing slime, bacon the type you see on the continent, barely cooked and flavourless. Chicken fillet burger was a reconstituted, dry, over cooked, tasteless mess (definitely not a fillet) and finally a cheese burger that contained no cheese and a tiny red blob that was, i am assuming meant to be ketchup! Obviously burgers are not their forte. On the plus side the delivery driver was very friendly and cheerful and the buns were ok.

This was our first experience and it was absolutely delicious and superb. Friendly service and quick delivery. The haddock and chips were cooked to perfection and also delivered in a neat box as well. We look forward to our next order. Best Regards Eddie Myers

I ordered fish and chips to be delivered. The huss was perfectly cooked and very tasty and the chips were a lovely golden brown and not greasy. My meal was booked to be delivered at 6.30 and that's when it arrived. First time I've used this company and I will definitely be ordering again in the future.

Had relations pop in unexpected,gave the shop a try was pleasantly surprised the fish was lovely and white ,didn't find it greasy will definitely visit again

Had cod and chips. Fish was good but batter terrible. Chips pale. Suspect oil not hot enough. Is the fryer up to the friday night traffic?

The food here was absolutely lovely, it's onsite at Bunn Leisure, West Sands by the Wind Mill, the prices are a little high but the chips and battered sausage were absolutely delicious hehe.

Really enjoy good quality Fish n Chips, cannot stand overlooked greasy food.

Been going here past few years as it was our local fish and chips now it's under new management we thought we would carry on going, tonight 17/8/17 it was awful chips were over cooked, only had one chicken mushroom pie left my girlfriend had the pie and the pastry was tough and dried out, battered cod,the batter was so greasy it was disgusting, jumbo sausage wasn't nice at all, such a shame definitely won't be going back there again now

We came upon The Real Fish and Chips Company by accident, but a great find. Having been painting and decorating all day, it was late, tired, hungry and on our way back to our B&B;, expecting to come across a McDonalds, my husband and I saw the shop as we were stopped at lights. It was due to close but they took our order with a smile. We both had the haddock and chips which were absolutely delicious, home made tartare sauce and garlic mayo, which we savoured whilst sitting in our car. Well done to the team there, excellent !

I came for a take away, and I was impressed by the very smart appearance of this establishment. A good choice of things to eat, and nicely cooked too. Polite and friendly staff is also noticed and will make me want to return!

Realmente satisfechos con el pescado y patatas fritas. Se notaba la diferencia entre los grandes y medianos (tamaño cod mucho lo suficientemente grandes para mí). Parte de tamaño de fichas era enorme, odio pensar qué grande sería. Madre había roe, que decía que estaba delicioso. Salsa de curry fue lo me gusta con bits. Un buen servicio con una sonrisa.

I have been using this shop for years - Best fish and chips in town - but tonight was a let down. I think you guys took over a little time ago, and things seemed to remain as good as ever. But tonight was not good! - chips not very hot and kind of dried out - fish (haddock) plenty of it but really dry & batter limp. - Then - no lemon? Really Hope tonight was just a blip - I'll be back in the hope that things are back to normal.

Always cooked fresh, and good value for money. I usually can't finish all the chips, and the fish portion are very generous.

This is local to us so we frequently visit. Food is tasty, well cooked and well presented. Although extremely small portions of chips for a chippy which is disappointing. Prices are reasonable, we will return.

I do not like writing a bad review but this one,Not good at all worst I've ever eaten tasted like cod was cooked yesterday chips were soggy they were dripping in oil (the oil was old smelt awful ) if I hadn't driven off I would have taken them back,traffic was terrible both ways, we got home chucked all three lots in the bin and opened a tin of soup a waste of twenty quid

Delightful lady behind the counter, really good chips and a generous portion. Loads of competition in Worthing but worth making the trip to seek this one out.

My husband and I popped in quite late just before they closed and were still welcomed warmly and were provided with lovely yummy food!Highly recommended!

Since the change of management the food served is so much better than the last. The chips are delicious and when I asked why there is a difference, the young lady went on to explain that her mother, who owns a restaurant, told her to use a particular type of cooking oil which really make a big difference. I have just finished eating a cod and chips and can honestly say that that was the best I reckon I have ever had. My wife had a chicken and chips and prompted me to write a review because she said that her meal was the best take away she has ever had. Keep up the good work and thank you very much. So glad I live just around the corner.

Vile "food", badly cooked, chips taste like they haven't been cooked, the food was cold and terrible service. Also your opening hours are wrong.

Ever since this place was taken over by new management which is clearly obvious due to the fact that i used to talk to the old boss and he is not there anymore and new staff and owners behind counter, the food ie. chips are not the same anymore. Also the general feel to the place is not the same as new management have brought in tacky ornaments which lowers the value of the shop. This was a good and luxury shop which i used to visit frequently but is not anymore. also staff cannot do maths and give correct change.

Excellent food - good portions, quality and prices. For my reckoning it is the best of its kind in Worthing and worth the drive out of town.

I attended this restaurant, as I do most, alone. So it is always nice to be greated by friendly staff with fun outfits, which coincidentally matched each other which I also thought was fun. I ordered cod, chips and mushy peas, it was a big portion all boxed up and even came with a lemon which I saved for another time.Good prices especially considering free lemon, some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Would go again soon, probably right now if I had petrol.

As a frequent user of the A27, I often see this shop as I drive past, but it's not usually at the time I need fish and chips! Yesterday, towards the end of a long journey to Newhaven, I was fed up with the constant rain, and had just experienced the added frustration of a diversion through Lyminster and Angmering because of Highways Agency roadworks. It was also a long time since an early sandwich lunch in my car, and I was starving, so an excellent opportunity to see if things were as good as I remembered from several years ago. I carefully pulled over from the eastbound side into the parking bay outside the shop, and eased my stiff limbs out of the car and into the light and warmth. I ordered haddock and chips, was informed it would take about 5 minutes (which was good as it meant it would be freshly cooked) and sat down to browse the catalogues, leaflets, etc. I was impressed by the young people staffing the counter, who were friendly and smartly dressed. My food arrived in not much longer than had been said, and I returned outside to my car with the box containing the fish and chips, which I opened immediately. The haddock was a generous portion, as were the chips. Most importantly, it was all very hot and the fish was excellent. The chips were delightfully crisp on the outside too - amongst the best I've had! After 15 minutes or so of enjoying it, I felt a good deal better and set off for the last few miles of my journey...

Enjoyed a fantastic meal from here yesterday. Fish cooked perfectly and served in boxes so not crushed and mushy when we got home - slice of lemon a nice touch. Well cooked chips - not soggy or anaemic! Kids really enjoyed their chicken burgers in buns with salad garnish. Not a place for dieters - very large portions. We visited this 'chip shop' on recommendation after using more local disappointing establishments. Worth going the extra couple of miles.

Good quality food but i found my fish to be a tad too greasy. .. nevertheless everything else was delightful. Very clean place. Love the uniforms

I have visited this place twice now when hungry and passing by. The chips were floury on the inside and crunchy on the outside and the cod was delicious. My other half enjoyed the saveloy too!I am really fussy about the premises I eat from and this shop is immaculately clean, the staff are so lovely and friendly and I would recommend friends and family to give it a try. Well done to the owners for getting it just right!

What a shame - just bought cod and chips there because of the reviews - got home and the fish batter isn't nice and golden - it's deep brown like it was left in for too long and over- cooked, the fish is unpleasant. Live too far away to go back. Chips were nice.

The two of us bought a take-away from here on the way to the New Forest on a Friday evening. The quality of the fish and chips was excellent: the fish was flaky and plentiful and the chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The premises were sparklingly clean and the business has a very endearing family-run atmosphere. These fish and chips are probably slightly more expensive than they are elsewhere but definitely worth paying a little more for such good quality. We'll be returning again on the way to another adventure!

Fish and chips - very well prepared, seasoned and fried by a guy who knows what he's doing. It's often tough to get a space outside but you should try to. I'm intrigued by the mackerel choices (as they're in season) but, in the end, a large cod wins out.My only small complaint: I prefer my chips to be cooked a little more.Remove the boxed items from the plastic bag or everything may be a little soggy by the time you get home.

We sometimes get our fish & chips here when we can't be bothered to cook or returning from somewhere. Quality is very good and portions plentiful even too many chips if ordered as a portion with each piece of fish (or other). Service good with lots of staff and parking normally easy outside or nearby. Would recommend as compared to other similar shops in the area.

I had the good fortune to return to this chippy for the second time ! this Visit I tried their fish Brochette ! cooked to perfection with a good lot of meaty fish on a skewer griddled & served with a salad and a wrap with Optional fries on the side. I sat by the window in the sun and just for a short while thought I was on my hol's ..... just what I needed !! :-)

My mates and I always go here on Tuesdays after our weekly trek up the South Downs - Can only describe the place as providing the best fish & chips ever only outshone by the service at this amazing, clean and welcoming chippy.

Definately the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. In fact, the last time I tasted it like this was in Whitby, Yorkshire. The fish is pure white, thick, chunky and you just know that its fresh.Lovely crunchy chips and no grease. It gets very busy here but you can phone ahead your order and jump the queue to pay. Very glad we found this place :-).

Went out of our way to find this little place following recommendations and was very pleased that we did. Although it is basically just a fish and chip shop and unfortunately doesn't have a restaurant the food was absolutely perfect. Arrived at a busy time as shop was packed but received fast and efficient service from the boys. Fish was really good with large white flakes surrounded by a delicious thin and crispy batter. Chips also crispy yet still soft. As good as Rick Steins in Padstow so that must be some sort of praise indeed! Would definitely go back when I am next in the area.

Nice fish and chips. Place very clean. Parking can be awkward depending on the direction you are coming from as it on a dual type carriage way. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good size portions I had cod and chips which was nice. The chips were a bit soggy but may be due to a seasonal thing with potatoes.

The Best Chips I have ever tasted! Fish is all prepared fresh and cooked to order. Would recommend this above any other fish and chip shop. Definitely worth a visit :D

Popped in in way home close to closing time, ordered a meal, cooked fresh with no problem that can usually occur as businesses are closing. The staff looked great in their smart uniforms and it was a real pleasure to visit. Also the food was delicious,will definitely visit again.

valentines night n rather than go out n get ripped off and rushed out of somewhere ,decided to have fish n chips indoors ,traffic held me up so i was there quite late but the fish was still excellent and chips lovely ,its never greasy from here ,even by the time you get it home, so it was fish n chips + a m&s desert n a bottle of wine made a nice nite

Me and my wife were having a trip to the coast and fancied some proper seaside fish and chips for lunch, a quick search on Trip Advisor highlighted this gem of a place and we swung by.It is easy to find (opposite a large Toby Carvery) and is very clean and inviting and the guy serving was very personable and attentive. I had a cod and chips with mushy peas which was delicious and served in a cardboard box which is perfect as it doubles up as a tray/plate. The cod was cooked perfectly and had a lovely light batter, the chips were properly cooked as well, one of my pet hates is undercooked chips that are still firm - these were crispy and fluffy inside, mushy peas were the standard Bachelors type which I love.My wife had scampi and chips and she thoroughly enjoyed hers and was particularly pleased that there was Nando's chip seasoning available.Portion sizes were just right and the price was reasonable at £13 for food and a couple of drinks.I would highly recommend here if you fancy some really nice, freshly cooked fish and chips that isn't swimming in grease and tasteless.

I live 8 miles away in Portslade and I pass 5 other chippies on route here. Mile Oak Rd Chippy, Valley Rd Chippy, Locks Hill Chippy, The one on the Old Shoreham Rd near to the Mitisbushi garage, the one off the A27 near the pedestrian bridge, and finally the one on the turning opp the old Suzuki garage on the A27. This beats them all. It is a little pricey, but as it is a "treat" meal, I do not mind paying £1.20 or so more. Considering I am using £3-£5 in petrol, who cares??

Its' our regular fish and chip shop. The fish is always skinless and fantastic and the chips are proper chips and not greasy. Always worth a visit, pity they don't have a café attached.;

Stopped off on the way back from delivering our daughter to University and will try to time it in future, to pass at a meal time. Thin all crispy batter (no claggy lumps under a deceptively crisp exterior) and wonderful crisp, crunchy chips. My husband commented that his first chip was so good, it didn't matter if the rest were not, it was worth it anyway. But they were all great. Give it a go, you won't regret it.

Had some Fish and Chips the other day on journey back home from Brighton - Wow - Best Fish and Chips ever! Trouble is it's a 300 mile round trip for another - never mind it will be worth it!

What a fantastic find! Lovely family run fish and chip shop, very clean, beautiful light batter, comes in boxes and stayed piping hot till we got to the beach! Even slices of lemon and nice big hand wipes!! We'll be back!

This used to be my local chippy, but I still drive back over as I've not found another one as good! It's really clean and the fancy stainless steel look makes the crispy batter look even more appealing.Really friendly staff and quick service.Recommended.

We recently visited Whitby and couldn't move for great fish and chip shops, but here in the south-east the ability to fry fish properly, and produce tasty chips, seems to be a lost art. However The Real Fish and Chips Company is a lone beacon of excellence. I just wish they'd open a branch nearer to where I live.

Come on people wake up! This is a seaside town and we're being ripped off. I have family in London who I visit frequently and the size of their cod and chips from their local F&C shop is three times the size of the portions this place serve up and the same price....and it is huge fish not batter with a smattering of fish in the middle. We have used The Real Fish and Chip co for some time in the hope that the portions and size of fish were a one off or just unpredictable. Alas no, the large size fish is expanded with the batter and is not much bigger than the regular size. I no longer use this takeaway as I am sure there are better value/quality places out there.....we're not all gullible in Worthing.

Wow amazing fish-huge portion and chips were really crispy and tasty. Couldn't fault this place! Great curry sauce too!!

If your looking for Real Fish & Chips then Look No further,I had some On Good Friday the Cod was a great Portion Size and the freshly chipped potatoes were of Organic quality all boxed up with Lemon & tartar Sauce.This shop is spotlessly Clean with a 5 food hygiene Rating ! Top Marks.

Excellent chips, but I thought the cod was a bit too expensive - would have been 6.50 pounds for a large cod and chips - so I had a couple of fishcakes. While waiting, I noticed their 'mackerel' specials (I'd have given them a go if I'd seen them earlier - healthier and more environmentally-friendly (until we were told last week that we should have them either!!). I'd have sat inside to eat but the two tables looked more like they were for customers waiting for their orders.

Exellent service great food always fresh and tasty only downside is the parking as there sometimes is not a space in front of the shop and I have drove on by but would highly recommend this fish and chip shop as I think it is a hard one to beat if you like a good fish and chips that does not leave a fishy aftertaste or a lady fatty mouth

Every time we visit this pristine shop we enjoy wonderful fresh cooked fish & chips served with a large slice of lemon and it never fails to please.

You have to try their chips, absolutely the best Ive ever had from a chippy: crusty outside, soft in the middle not the other way round thats usually what I find from a chip shop (and Im proper fussy).

Not greasy so don't leave you feeling rotten afterwards! Service is very good and food cooked fresh.

This chippy does so many things well.Looks great from the outside.Great packaging for their products.Great local food.Good prices.... and of course the best and happiest Chippy staff I have ever seenoh - and with the best /cutest uniforms in the worldNow I think chip shop staff tend to be pretty chatty, warm and bubbly. They're like the cool landlord at your local pub. But these guys are honestly in a league of their own.REALLY chatty and REALLY nice. Good luck being better chips by better staff in Worthing. Been here a few times always great cooked while you wait, love the fact they pack your fish in a box so it's not all stock to the paper when you get in.

We generally go to Chipwicks in Worthing but having read all the reviews about this take-away we decided this was a 'must' to try out. Definitely not disappointed. Batter is lovely and light and crispy and the fish (we had cod) beautiful. Chips good as well. Portions are large so we only needed one portion of chips between us. Beautifully presented to take away and really good value for money.

This is definitely worth driving to if you are looking for fish and chips, the only thing that could improve this would be a sea view! Great idea if you've just been to Lyons Farm shopping and want to grab a take out on the way home. Some parking available outside the shop. By far the best cod and chips we've had and it's good every single time. looks modern and bright, staff wear great uniforms and are always friendly and polite, service is fast. They use real butter on their rolls if you ask - a real bonus as I cannot bear margarine! Food is served in cool cardboard take out boxes with a wedge of lemon. This is a great plaice, sorry couldn't resist. Really I highly recommend.

Just to make everyone aware this is a chippie not a restaurant but it does have a couple of tables and chair so you can eat in.We went here based on previous reviews and were not disappointed, the food is excellent, definitely the best fish and chips i have had, and that includes restaurant food. The shop itself is spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful, they came and laid out our table for us brought the food over and even offered us a top up of chips, which definitely wasn't needed the portions were excellent.We had 2 fish and 2 chips with mushy peas and a couple of drinks. This was all excellent, it's not advertised but you can ask for your fish to be breadcrumbed which we did and was much less greasy than battered fish. They also have an excellent piri piri ketchup. Food came to about £11 for 2.After a long drive we were very glad we went here as we were too tired for a proper restaurant and looked pretty bedraggled. Would definitely go back again.

The food there tastes exquisite. Highly recommened the Cod and chips anyday and everyday please. I’ve eaten there many a time and the quality is always great. Not once have i been there and the service wasn't high quality 10/10 :)

Quality fish and chips, all fresh, well cut and wonderfully cooked. They have some very nice sausages, chicken and pies too. Not to mention their burgers are the best I've tasted in a long time. Everything is here very new and clean and they are constantly trying to improve their food.The staff are very friendly and really take care of their customers. this is certainly not your average fast food place. This is restaurant care and quality made for those on the go.
