Came here for Sunday lunch, party of 10. Staff were great, very attentive and gave us the right amount of time to decide our order. For the whole sitting the staff were great. Food was delicious, a great selection for the Sunday menu. The braised beef was delicious. The pub itself is very cosy and welcoming, old world beams etc. Overall I was really impressed and would definitely eat here again.

Three of us, my wife, myself and our youngest son (in mid 30s) wanted to treat ourselves to a meal out for a big change. The staff were wonderful; all friendly and welcoming and eager to help. We chose three completely different meals, thinking that we could try some of each others to assess the standards. The braised beef was perfectly cooked and complemented by the excellent vegetables. My son was so overwhelmed by the taste of the chicken schnitzel that he seriously contemplated ordering it again! However, the kitchen was closing so he will have to return on another evening. I had the pan-fried salmon. After tasting this, the others were jealous of my choice. To quote my son, " I thought I had tasted well cooked fish before, but that is on another level." He insisted on telling the chef exactly that. It was served with superbly cooked vegetables and rocket - just sublime. To add to all this, the Copper Dragon beer was very well kept and served as was the George Shaw bitter, We shall be returning in the very near future.

We came as a large family for Sunday lunch. We were a little nervous due to the recent bad press however we had nothing to worry about and I don’t know what others are complaining about. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The food came out in the time you would expect for home made fresh food and the food was delicious. Would certainly recommend it to family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

It was lovely to return to the Raven in all it's new glory, it certainly feels loved again and cared for. We were a group of 12 and the service was amazing. I was personally blown away with the younger staff, nothing and I mean nothing was too much trouble for them, friendly, helpful and very professional, they were an absolute credit to the Raven and to themselves. Food was perfect, we personally liked the fact that it was quite a small menu but everything on there was cooked and served to perfection. This is the nicest and best we've experienced the Raven in over 20 years.

Absolutely loved our meals. The lady behind the bar was so attentive and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time there. She was so welcoming. The decor is beautiful and even the sinks in the ladies were amazing! Will definitely be returning!

Yet again another excellent meal at the Raven. From the start the service from Peter was attentive, friendly and helpful. My wife has mobility issues so I had to park the car, after she was seated. By the time I got back she already had her drink in front of her! The service, throughout was spot on. Our meal was first class. Just when we thought it could not get any better my dessert arrived - photo of waffles with fresh fruit. We thought the value was really good and the quality excellent. It is all fresh food, cooked on the premises. The ambience and decor of the pub is just lovely.

Visited for the first time today. Blown away with traditional values in hospitality rather than corporate blandness, lovely staff who try really hard to look after each customer. We had steak and kidney pie and salmon, both were tasty especially the veg. Nice relaxed environment, more suited to adults I think and was perfect for us. Love the building and it’s traditional features, toilets were a great surprise as they were modern but ornate. Really like that this is not a chain pub and you can see what a great asset it is to the community, well done to all those who have achieved such a great success. For a Monday it was nearly full so I would definitely recommend booking a table. We will definitely be back again.

We visited the Raven in Glazebury for a delicious Sunday lunch today (18th Feb). The hospitality was brilliant and the staff were so friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We shared a tasty chilli and garlic prawn starter. My husband enjoyed a lamb shank with lots of vegetables and I had a generous portion of salmon with roasted vegetables. We congratulate you on such a brilliant restoration of the building and maintaining the traditional character of the Inn. It has such a relaxing atmosphere. My husband enjoyed the beer too! We will certainly be returning soon and thoroughly recommend you.

It’s still good , but maybe Not as good as when it first opened ., I have been numerous times for Sunday Lunch , always good , but over the last few times, noticed portions are slightly smaller , no added extras like Cauliflower Cheese , ( Payable ) still will support this Community Pub ., as its still the best around in the area. Talk of a Micro brewery being located here in the future , hope so , good range of Guest Beer , they had George Shaw on Draft when visiting .Large Car Park @ the rear , friendly staff, On Sunday they do special wine offer .

This place was reopened after huge efforts and fundraising by community so I am sorry to leave such a bad review but, though the surroundings are lovely, the standard of food is execrable. Have eaten on two occasions and both have been dreadful. They need a new chef and fast! Today the ‘mushroom bruschetta’ consisted of plain, soggy dark mushrooms without cream or sauce and barely seasoned. They were like tinned mushrooms of old. Awful. Worse was to come. The ‘cheese and onion pie’ consisted of a layer of some quite nice pastry but underneath the meagre filling was appalling: it appeared to be just grated, baked red cheese (no sauce) and four red onion rings on the top. This arrived with two dollops of mashed potato (no choice of chips etc) and a spoonful of lukewarm baked beans! No green or fresh veg or salad. It looked and tasted like something a child had prepared in a school Cookery lesson. On the plus side , the wine served was lovely and well presented. Pity the food could not do it justice.

I was looking forward to trying the food here but had a disappointing experience. After being seated and waiting ten minutes for a menu we were asked for the drinks order which was taken, a short time later the member of staff who had taken the order came back and asked my daughter for ID ( she’s 30 years old ) she didn’t have ID with her so that was that no lager shandy for her. “Rules are rules “said the staff member despite it being legal to drink alcohol with a meal from the age of 16. Overall a disappointing experience

The pub is excellent and the food brilliant, just felt the service was poor. Forgotten about, ordered the same drinks 3 times each time price was different. Had to request for order to be taken. Again for drinks, no dog bowls. We sat on table 8 if you want to be served sit in the walk way or you are forgotten about. Very disappointing

Amazing bakery, best meat pies of anywhere. We live in London and still can’t find better than here. All their produce is top quality. Great range of food, condiments, snacks as well as baked goods. And super friendly staff.

Another cracking meal Having had a really enjoyable visit with my parents last year we returned on a Sunday evening. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and received excellent service. I had a burger again which was cooked nicely and had great flavours. The bun was a bit dry though. I had it with truffle parmesan fries and they were great. My Mum had mixed grill hanging kebab. All really good quality meats. She swapped fries for a portion of garlic broccoli. My Dad opted for the roast again and that was also fantastic. Clean plates all round. Previous visit: Absolutely banging prime cheeseburger! One of the best tasting beef patties I've ever had. Thick and juicy with superb flavour. You won't find a better one in Warrington. Really high quality meat. The bun was nice and the sauce was tasty too but didn't need quite so much of it. I like a messy burger but it was slipping out of my hands. The triple cooked chips were fluffy and crispy and just about the right size portion considering I had the rib starter on the side too! They were delicious as well, nicely seasoned and the right amount of sauce on them. I was disappointed that the pulled pork burger addition wasn't available but I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The service was great too, really pleasant staff. My Dad enjoyed the roast and my Mum really liked the teriyaki fish kebab. Closer to a fine dining place but not overpriced for the quality of the food and service.

Birthday Meal for the wife who had a fillet steak I had a ribeye both of which were cooked to perfection, the chips were huge and very tasty. Size wise they were on par with the stones at stonehenge, nice to get proper sized chips. The wife also had a side salad which unlike most other places contained more than just lettuce. A bottle of Waddling Duck Sauvignon Blanc and Orchard Thieves cider for me which made for a great experience. We thought it couldn't get any better until the sweet came out, a cherry cheesecake but no ordinary cheesecake. The chef had made a large cherry out of the cheesecake mixture with a red glaze and a slither of chocolate for the stalk and placed on a biscuit base. Overall a very good experience, from initially walking in to walking out all the staff were very helpful, smiling and never in your face. We'll be back on Saturday.
