Not good since changing hands. May2023 - much better food, now!👍

Often out of stock of items and there are issues with the staff arguing. The last two visits my partner has described that the gentleman serving him has been rude to him, and customers before him in the queue, and the lady is constantly apologising on his behalf. We've decided not to go there again due to these issues.

In one word.... dreadful! They don't seem to care about quality of food and certainly not about service. If they got off their mobile phones and concentrated as much on the business then they may just start to improve the business.

Love this chippy ❤️ Love the staff, love the price and, most of all, we love the food! We’ve tried the chips, sausage (battered and plain), pie, gravy and chip shop curry so far and all have been delicious

Had Fish and Chips last night, chips were ok but a bit underdone and the batter on the cod was soggy. Was left very underwhelmed.

Ignoring all the moans, this place is one of the best for fish and chips in South Wales. I have been here many times over the years and never fail to be impressed by the courtesy of the staff and the quality of the food. Today we all had cod (and it was cod) with chips and some accessories. Splendidly cooked and a pleasure to eat.

Good food good prices. Friendly helpful staff. Large portions.

Tasteless powdery cod in over cooked and soggy batter. My sons had sausages that were dry in batter that was thick and bendy. The chips were ok. The chip shop curry sauce was excellent. I was left wondering if it had all been cooked at lunchtime, (we bought our chips at 5.30pm on a Friday) left to wither in a lukewarm heated display case and then maybe reheated up. I dunno, I might be wrong - but it tasted like it had. Shame. Sorry.

I have always got my fish and chips here since moving to Swansea and it’s the first place I direct someone too if they ask for a recommendation.

Second time I been,(thought last week might of been just a day) Asked for Cod and chips once again not Cod. Chips are ok lots of them,but if your paying for Cod,Cod you should get.

Brilliant chippie and they do a great deal for a tenner...it can easily feed a family of 4

We ordered from here through Just Eat. When the food was delivered half of the order was missing. We rang up and they said they would not send the missing food round and they would not issue a refund. The guy on the phone was very rude and then hung up on us. Would never buy from here again.

Really rude. They had no fish fried an hour before closing and were too lazy to cook more.

Absolutely love the chips here, best in Swansea, that I've found. The fish was nice but the batter was a bit thick and so was chewey rather than crispy. Also for the price the portions are very small

I witnessed the cook from this venue hurl abuse at a woman trying to park her car. The woman went to pull into a parking space the member of staff pulled forward so there was not enough room for her to park in front or behind his car. The lady opened her window and politely asked could he move his car forward or back to allow her to park. He hurled abuse at her and went back into the chip shop. He had no apron or hair net on and went behind the counter. The woman followed him in and again he gave her abuse. He then Came outside and lit a cigarette, when he finished his cigarette he went back behind the counter and started preparing food. Before this incident I was about to go into the shop but after hearing the abuse and language hurled at the woman and then seeing the unhygienic manner in which this staff member worked I feel I will never use this venue again. I proceeded around the corner to a pizza shop with far better hygiene standards. I feel the owner of this venue needs to send his staff on a customer service course and then on to a food hygiene course as this business is seriously lacking in both.

This place is the best around. I drive past 3 chip shops to buy from here when we have fish and chips. They also do great pies, sausage in batter and sell the elusive apple tango. Staff are nice and friendly and they are open till 9pm in the week. 5 stars 🍺

Usual it’s ok but recently it’s gone down hill. Terrible chips this evening. Was thinking of phoning and asking if they are missing half the fat from their fryer!!! Probably left over chips from lunch reheated Won’t be going again

Can’t believe the fish was even sold as the batter wasn’t cooked it still had soggy flour on it and the chips weren’t much better. Won’t be returning.

Chippy chips are my favourite take away! I was staying in the area and too far away from my regular chip shop. Very reasonably prices, happy friendly staff and the chips were fresh and lovely!!tasted quite clean, and were cooked well. One to add to my list 👍

Went here for a takeaway as my mother likes the food, girl serving was lovely, chatted with my son. When we got back home the trays had leaked so my gravy and mushy peas were covering everyone's paper, my faggot's unfortunately were hard. However my mother enjoyed her fish and chips.

Anemic chips,sever got everyone’s order wrong or mixed up took everybody’s order at once then couldn’t remember who had what.its always been a very average chip shop and now under new management still the same better quality chips and service in nearby Sketty Park

Chips are not suitable for vegetarians or gluten free as they fry the chips with the fish. Very disappointing and a bit behind the times with regards awareness of carering for dietary needs.

Chips were under cooked. Battered sausages were over cooked and hard. Begger was sat outside the door being intimidating on the way in and out. Staff were okay but not that friendly.

Wow,I have been there a few times since under new mangament and am really impressed on the food ordered fish,chicken and a few other bits even tried cheese cheese rissole was lovely! was happy with all the food fish was really thick and fresh, chicken nice and crispy and chips were piping hot and fresh, staff really friendly and great service will deffo be going back again.. welcome to sketty and good luck

We have lived in sketty for many years and have always bought chips from the range in Eversley Road. Since it has been under new management recently the chips are awful, they are all hard and taste disgusting. I'm not sure whether they are using foreign cooking oil or cheap potatoes but either way I would never recommend buying food from there anymore. I rang them up to express my disappointment only to speak to a male member of staff who could only say OK. He didn't even offer an apology or an explanation. They are certainly not worthy of your custom!!!

Have always used this chip shop, the food has always been freshly cooked and piping hot. The portion sizes were great and the staff friendly.

I'm a regular here and loved their food. It's under new management now and I'm no longer a fan. My "large" chips would have been a small a short while back, bit back then they would a)have been cooked today and b) been warm. The kids chip butties were at best pathetic, with such a concession of portion size, you would hope that the price would follow suit. Nope. Save your cash, the Roma just up the hill in Cockett/Townhill is far better value with a better quality too. Avoid avoid avoid. A saving grace is that I have not got that many freezing cold two day old chips to suffer through.

WOW! It's taken me almost 6 years to find a chip shop in Swansea that sells proper chippy chips - they are fantastic! Would have given 5 stars but they are kind of expensive and very small portions (the large is smaller than a regular anywhere else). The fish is okay, although the batter needs some work it's too spongy - maybe needs to be fried at a lower temperature. But the chips! Wow - just like the chips back home (Liverpool)

You can't go wrong going to The Range for a battered sausage and chips, not to mention their chip shop curry sauce! Delicious. Price could be slightly better but the food is never a disappointment.

Just had a massive Cod portion with chips with mushy peas at the Range Chip Shop. Great quality food - batter was crispy and fresh, fish was perfectly cooked. Pleasant, efficient service too - thank you!

Chips are very nice, the sausages are quite good. Had the battered fish once and it was slightly soggy. The staff are very friendly and soon after moving in close by I had become something of a regular customer. I highly recommend checking it out and having a bite to eat if you are in the neighbourhood. A couple times I have come by close to closing times and when I ask for a large battered sausage if they don't have any ready every time they have offered either two small battered sausages(for the price of a large) or they would other to cook one up for me if I don't mind waiting (if they have no small battered sausages left either).

My wife and I had 2 large cod and 1 regular chips on 2016 May Day bank holiday at approx 6 pm. The whole meal was inedible. The fish was covered in the thickest, most soggy batter ever experienced. The chips were pale, soggy, cold and obviously not freshly cooked. At over £8 for a chippie takeaway, hugely disappointing.

Have used this place for years and always found it really good. Quality of the food is good as are the portion sizes. parking can be awkward especially as the Council now employ a man in a van to drive around photographing and fining minor offenders.Not the best fish shop in Swansea (hence 4 stars), but still pretty good.

I've tried the fish and chip's a few times , The first time I had chips with fish cake. The chips were really nice, as for the fish cake it was shrivelled and very dry so it was not edible. The second time it was quiet and one person serving. The man in front of me wanted large fish. Because there was known he was given two small fish for the price of one. I asked for large fish and chip's, she gave me the two last small fish that was left.What I couldn't understand was known of the fish were small. Maybe her version of a large fish was a shark. The fish was nice

Hot and fresh food - not greasy. stayed this way when we got it home - excellant value for money and good choice on the menu.

Nice to see it is always full at lunchtimes which is always a good sign. Chips were nice and well packaged. Good place to go for a quick takeaway lunch without breaking the bank! Portions sizes were small which would be my only criticism. Would rather pay more for a decent sized meal.

Portions are to small for the price they charge. Only one size for chips.

Why don't the range serve large chips many of my hungry friends are often looking to buy chips on the way home from work but word has got around about the stingy amounts we are willing to pay for large chips but we are always refused so now I recommend Roma new shop in town hill just up the rd serving large chips Come on the range get with the times what the customer wants you have to deliver.

Crap for parking, overpriced and rude and unhelpful staff. But to top it off. The food is not good either. Unless your starving or desperate for something to eat. Best of luck if you decide to try it. I live local but would rather drive to 2 miles away than go to this place.

Dont go into this take away at 1 minute to closing (1400) if you dont want the server to RANT & RAVE that she'sSHUT SHUT SHUT. Excuse me for trying to boost your profits. Also only do a single size portion of chips at £1.30. Lot of money for not many chips.
