Went yesterday with a friend,sorry to say we could not have been more disappointed. We tried to order our drinks on arrival ,as my friend was driving we ordered cranberry and soda”don’t have any “ so orange juice and soda “don’t have any of that either “ Not a good start,however we looked at the menu and we’re impressed lovely selection Starters ordered but chef’s choice the beef “don’t have any” Ok we then told you did have pies ????not the same I had the pork left most of it veg uncooked meat was cold and slimy O well coffee time Two lathes please don’t have any Choice of black coffee or white coffee.So we had 1 Malabo and coke and 1lime and soda was charged £10plus Had to find staff when we needed service.So total cost of the experience was £91 Won’t be back a shame because love the building and setting.No response so don’t bother with reviewing,because they only respond to positive comments

Unfortunately I wouldnt recommend. I have been 4 times and each time there has been an issue. I put this down to it being new ownership so gave them a chance to settle in. However tried one final time today, booked a table for 4:30pm as there was an offer being advertised all week for a Sunday roast. When we got there we was advised there was no beef, then whilst in a very long queue to order the roast, arriving at the front of the queue to be told there was no roast dinners left. I asked if they would offer an alterative as a deal but was advised no. Won't be going again. Such a shame!

Ordered 2x coke 1 halloumi and 1 chicken liver pat'e and 2 main 2xlamb kofta gyros with chips and side salad. The coke and halloumi was fine ! The pat'e was terribly off and the lamb kofta there was no spices in it at all the chips was OK. No ketchup or mayo when asked. Got refunded for the coke and pat'e GOGW. My tummy doing somersault...will I go back no way 😩

Very average considering the prices and food quality. much better options available locally.

Went on lovely sunny afternoon, big outside area to sit. Food lovely. Think they must have had some new staff on as they were a bit uncertain about how things worked or were ordered but everyone has to learn so it was fine

I'd have given 5 stars but my beef was really, really tough. Took a lot of chewing, however, it was flavoursome and the sauce, mushrooms and veg and mash were lovely. The Po' boy dish was gorgeous. The staff were great. The pub is beautiful, so pretty and very old. Lovely atmosphere. The views and surroundings are amazing. Drinks slightly pricey but we enjoyed them anyway! Definitely will go again.

Called in for lunch. What a very nice place. We decided to sit outside as it was a nice day and we had our little dog with us. The service was great as was the food. Would definitely go here again.

Went here on a Wednesday night was quite disappointed 2 staff on service and bar struggling to keep up (not there fault) had 2 meals food was disappointing and priced as high end meals ...mash looked like microwave mash. Chef could be heard berating the rest of his kitchen staff and made the young server girl cry. Wouldn't be rushing to come back.

I've been here 2 times now. On my first visit I booked a table over the phone but when we all got there was told the kitchen was closed and that the person who took our bookings had got it wrong so left with not eating. I let that go and tried again on an afternoon visit. Wish I never had food was awful greasy pizza, burnt chicken goujons, and hardly any meat in the lasagne shame really as it's in a nice place. Sadly, I won't be going back

Took my parents out for an anniversary meal and decided to try here as had been wanting to go for a while. Staff were lovely and we were seated straight away. 3 of the party chose the roast dinner and I chose the Gyros. All the food was delicious and we also had a dessert each. Will definitely be back

Brilliant. Myself and some friends came after a walk a couple of weeks ago. The service was absolutely fantastic (especially from our waitress Grey) and the food we ordered was yummy. Thanks so much guys - will definitely be back.

A friend and I visited here today for lunch. Had the Sunday dinner. It was delicious! The roasties we really good. Plenty of meat and veg too. The people who served us were lovely. Couldnt fault the place. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside so on a nice day would be lovely to dine outside. The only teeny tiny gripe, is that I'd have liked more Custard with my apple crumble and I should have asked them for that when I was there. Though the apple crumble itself was really nice. Crunchy crumble as it should be. Would recommend.

Very disappointing starters was cold and very small for the price thd we had to wait half an hour for our mains and wasn't given any clean cutlery we had to use the same ones we ate the starter with mains came freezing cold chips and the tiny portions of the meals were ridiculous for the price staff was nice the pub itself is nice but dreadful food for the price we won't be back

Lovely Sunday roast. Fitted us at the last minute, friendly staff and good food.

Visited on Tuesday evening after a very long and hot hike. There was no real ale available at all and the other choices on draught were very limited indeed. As I was hungry after my hike I was needing some food as too late to get home and make anything. I ordered the Caesar salad which stated a vegetarian alternative was available, this ended up consisting of lettuce, croutons and dressing and at £13 for what wasn't even a side salad I was really unimpressed. Just removing the chicken doesn't make it an alternative. They really need to do better as it was once a really good place to visit in amazing surroundings.

We have not been here for a while due to food being poor and bad service, we heard it had been taken over so we thought we would try it, I wish we hadn't bothered, the service was shocking waitress completely disregarded complaints and was not dealt with. Food not much better, chips were disgusting, chicken salad OK,kids mac and cheese was disgusting and not eaten, even when we told the waitress that it tasted funny nothing was done about it, 2 complaints made and still no manager. I 2 gyros were 16 quid each we have had better take aways.. served in what I can only discribe as a dog dish, melt in the middle pud was cold and hard for £7._95 I will defo not be coming here again what a rip off. I may I add that you will be charged £6 for a pint that is served in a plastic cup but if your face fits you can have a glass in the children's play area, glass and cig stumps strewn over patio area, I'm afraid to say the owners will need to do better than this to get a better rep than this, your just going to end up like everyone eles who had tried and failed no management direction at all.

Ordered a burger I was expecting it to be very filling for the hefty price of £18. It was tiny and I left still hungry. The new menu is really expensive for example fish & chips £20 😅😅 the food was low quality for the price. I will come to this pub again but only for the drinks and the view.

Food is just OK, I payed £18 for a small slice of stake pie, chips, a few vegetables. The portion size was small considering the price, i was expecting a decent size, but the pie was just 1 small slice of stake pie, a few chips that were not homemade just frozen chips that were fried, and vegetables was cabbage with a few carrots and parsnips. The food tasted nice, but overpriced for what you get. I wont be in a rush to go back for food, Nice atmosphere and staff.

We often visit the Ram. Service is brilliant and staff are so friendly and welcoming. However, since switching owners food has become astronomical and the portion sizes are shocking. We've just paid £17 for a pizza the size you'd expect on a child's plate. Very disappointing.

Lovely old pub with a spacious comfortable dining area. Great service from friendly staff. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. Very good value. If the weather's good there is a large garden with fantastic views.

New owners, new menu, the carvery has gone, back to waitress service with a smile, food is lovely, we had a Sunday roast all fresh and delish. A good start 👌

I had the Barron of beef,absolutely delicious, have not tasted beef like that for a long time. The veg were cooked the sauce was so tasty. Would have licked my plate. David had the chicken sizzler with all the trimmings yum yum.

Came for a visit today rang up to book a table everything was fine to be told when we got there it was a buffet at £12.50 a portion after travelling I didn’t really fancy trying to find another place so stuck with it safe to say I won’t be going back bread roll stale chips was like cardboard was a mix of fish and chicken with sausages curry and rice gravy was like water I don’t eat fish or curries so went with the chicken that was dry and over done I have been before and was lovely but this as really put me of especially the staff scowling every time u looked up wasn’t even there an hour

I’m very disappointed and upset by my experience today! No one told us it was a buffet style meal only! The buffet was an absolute joke!! Sorry but you would not serve that at a kids party never mind adults paying £25 per couple!! Most was dry and not edible. We booked for my mum’s birthday meal when her sister complained the manager simply shrugged his shoulders did not apologise at all!! The staff were too occupied by the football match to even ask us if everything was ok or did we need anything ?? I’m still in disbelief at what happened there tonight I’m furious to be honest!! Will not be going back any time soon.

Stopped by on Wednesday as it was a beautiful day to sit outside. The views are stunning and unmatched! Ordered a burger and scampi and chips - these came in cardboard dishes. The burger was about £9 and very poor similar to what you’d buy from a food stall at a fun fair and didn’t come with chips. The scampi and chips were delicious but the portion size was what a child would eat and cost £13.50. The outside area was filthy - no tables cleared, the bin overflowing with cardboard containers and there was dog poo on the grass through one of the main walking bits. Benches and parasols looked a bit tired in areas. The person serving behind the bar was very lovely - can’t fault the customer service. Not sure if we caught them on a bad/busy day but we don’t feel encouraged to return.

Accidental stop, due to being in the area and having a hungry riding partner! Food was good, service was lovely. All staff were really pleasant and went above and beyond. One slight criticism is the lack of 0% stuff but I'm not knocking anything off for that. They did have standard soft drinks so still able to enjoy something. Outdoor seating was lovely, plenty of space and great views too. Would love to return, and will next time we're in the area. Definitely recommend!

Super venue. Amazing surroundings and landscapes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Customer friendly and a must visit in your way on any day of the week. Very clean premises. Delicious Carbury and Specials. You will not regret it. Highly recommended. Go for it!

What a great place to spend time with family, outside facilities for the little ones are excellent, plenty of room for them to run around and enjoy themselves. Very welcoming and helpful staff, the food served outside is perfect for adults and kiddies alike. Amazing value for money and a cut above your normal pub food with something for everyone. We were four generations and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend the Ram, it's worth going out of your way to visit.

Am not to sure on food but the landlord was great I am doing a walk for Macmillian and he kindly handed me over two sandwiches crisps nuts and some drinks very kind 😀

Booked a table. Arrived and were told to find our own table. Did not feel welcome at all. Food overcooked and won’t be returning any time soon!!!

Lovely place , such a shame the food was so bad. Ordered 2 lasagnes , garlic bread and chips, after taking a while to even get the staff to serve us (baring in mind it was 3pm on a thursday so not busy at all) they then told us the pizza oven was off so couldnt have that, then when the lasagne came they were so burnt that the whole of the bottom sauce had set to the plate, and the whole top section was black and literally un edible. I'm a builder and I've taken a hammer and chisel to softer bricks. surely between the chef and serving staff we would of expected them to never reach the table like that but it shows the lack of interest in great food and presentation. We eat out alot and never complain but after the food we would not recommend nor return for food. Poor overall

A good lunch and experience at the Ram Inn with reasonable prices. The pub was fairly busy for a midweek lunchtime which was good to see, and everyone seemed to be dining. Service was good and all staff on duty very pleasant, helpful and accommodating.

Hadn't been for a long time but this place was known for its quality. Sadly, this was not evident this time. Food overcooked. Pie burned. Lamb cutlets dry and gristly. No staff asked if all was ok. Mint sauce like perfume. Overpriced for what we had. Won't be back.

Poor food and poor service. A shame really as I enjoy visiting here. Bar staff weren’t that welcoming and a little impatient when we ordered causing my partner who noticed this to ask their advice. It was given but it felt begrudgingly. Ordered food reluctantly as there was no mention anywhere that they do a separate menu for a weekend therefore our choices were not available. I found an alternative but my partner struggled. I ordered then found out they have two very different menus for inside and outside. Although we were inside the outside menu sorted us much better. No idea why this is the case. Very strange. Next table to us sent their food back. Our food came without the waitress asking us if we needed anything. My food was dry and very over cooked. The burger I struggled to cut let alone chew. This with no sauces left a burnt taste in my mouth. We had to dash so made do. The waitress came and collected our plates but never spoke or asked if the meal was ok. I would have said something if she had asked. Got the impression no one was bothered so we left. Still have the dry burnt taste now.

Love the Ram for a drink usually after a long dog walk but called here recently and sat outside in the sun my oh went inside to order a drink, I wanted a house white wine, nothing fancy... £9.40??!!!!! Come on The Ram, that's just bloody ridiculous!

We have literally just left and if we hadn’t already ordered and paid for food we would have left sooner. There were a group in there who were shouting and swearing the worst language possible, vaping and being encouraged by the young bar staff it was disgusting. We’ve been a few times on a Sunday but we’ll never return it was extremely uncomfortable

Had lunch today first time visit won't be the last. Food was excellent staff were lovely service was a little slow but we weren't in a rush just hungry but worth the wait. Dog 🐕 friendly too so will definitely be visiting again. Second time we've called in for lunch just as good as the first time very enjoyable 😀.

Lovely quiet pub with very friendly staff and prompt service but also with no pressure from staff. Several locals having a regular chat but didn't mind us being there and a very relaxed atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced and tasty all in our party enjoyed the night and came out full. Will be back.

Nothing wrong with the food. I had the burger, and it came with a burger, a piece of chicken, a hash brown? and onion rings. It's just too much. Like many pubs this is the trend. What happened to a nice juicy beef burger with onions and a salad on the side. And what is the hash brown about? I asked for it to be left off but I got it anyway so it ended up in the bin. The onion rings were sickly greasy. Please just do a burger for £10.95 and leave the other stuff off my plate.

Beautiful building, ample parking, very clean, The food wasn't great.. we booked a table for Easter Monday expecting it to be busy, we've not been here for many years, doubt we'll go again for food, might just stop for a drink as it has a beautiful beer garden with amazing views.. The food was served lovely, was warm, but that's the only positive I can give. Unfortunately, We ordered a garlic bread to eat while waiting for our food, it was so dry we couldn't eat it all thats a 9" garlic bread between three people..two of the three of us ordered the Goat curry.. mine had one piece, the other plenty, I mentioned mine didn't have any when served the third dish, I was fishing with my fork to find it, there was some mince sized pieces which I was bluntly told they're Goat! Do you want me to take it back to the chef? No, it's fine.. take some off that one then! Wow!! I'd only recommend going for a drink. You can take dogs inside. They're well catered for with water bowls, treats, etc. The toilets were nice & clean with plenty of products.

Second time we have eaten here since the new people took over. Really happy both times can't say a bad word about it. If fires were lit I'd of given five stars for atmosphere but thats just being really picky as it was spot on all round really. Kids loved there meals too which is a big thing for us. Carvery was excellent and so tasty.great choice of meat and vegetables .couldnt be better. cheese and onion pie and lamb cutlets also delicious.all really fantastic value. chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake also a must. Staff friendly and available if you needed them. Very relaxing enjoyable experience. Will definitely be returning soon.

First visit here and will definitely be returning! Carvery was very popular and good value for money and table service was quick for the other meals which were also very tasty and filling. Weekend menu had limited but ample choice, with a few alternatives on the specials board

this place needs a refurb too dark abd dingy

Visited with a large group of walkers & then again on another occasion with just my wife & myself. On both occasions we were made very welcome by the lovely staff. I only had a bowl of soup on my first visit, but had a couple of courses when I went with my wife. We’ll be visiting again, and are looking forward to using the sunny outside area with its excellent views.

We visited on Saturday 24th February for the carvery, having previously dined from the main menu, and also for breakfast on another occasion, (both of which were delicious). We'd heard great things about the carvery and finally got to try it for ourselves. I don't think you could get a better carvery elsewhere, everything was cooked to perfection, plentiful and couldn't be faulted. We followed the main course up with the divine apple pie and custard. For those who don't know already, all the food is home cooked and the chef clearly aims for perfection and to give the diner a top culinary experience. I highly recommend a visit here, you won't be disappointed. Try to book in advance, as word about the quality of food is rightly getting round.

Found the room needed more lighting but staff was very friendly and good at there job especially when it was very busy

Our first visit for a while. I had the homemade cheese and onion pie, it was excellent. One of our party had the steak and ale pie, it was so full of steak, really thick slice. Scampi and pizza also had and no fault found anywhere! We will be back - soon!

Came here a few weeks ago with a friend and we both ordered the chicken stacker burger but asked for it without the beef as we just wanted chicken burgers, we were charged the same price as normal, without any extra chicken and it even came without any sauce, cheese or salad on it so had to send it back. The waitress wasn't happy about this it seemed, and was quite rude, never heard of service with a smile. We love this pub for the atmosphere and walk to it on a regular basis usually for a drink/dessert but I don’t think we will be returning any time soon. Not what you expect for a £50 lunch unfortunately.

3 of us have just had the Sunday carvery - food hot and fresh. Beer good too (bonus) we will be back

Ate there last night, arriving without prior reservation. Good service. Steak and ale pie, cheese and onion pie, and lamb shanks ; all with carrots, peas and gravy. Pies to die for. Followed by 3 sticky toffee puddings with ice cream...Lovely. Only 10 minutes from Towneley; easy access from town. Good return visit after many years.

We haven't been here for a couple of years now , and thought we would give it a try. New owners have taken over a few months back and I was pleasantly surprised. They now serve a carvery and it was beautiful, hot and delicious and top quality food 😋 Met the new owners who can't do enough for you, great atmosphere, very cosy, all the staff were so friendly checking if all was OK. Just got back from having a meal at the ram with the wife which is now under new management. All I can say is the food was exceptional the Mrs had 10oz steak and I had chicken both cooked to perfection the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was like it once was. I highly recommend to anybody and will be back soon. thank you for a lovely experience and keep up the amazing work ....

It's has been years since we last had a meal at the Ram inn. It won't be so long before we go again. We had the carvery this evening which we all enjoyed. This was followed by cheesecake, which was delicious. A nice friendly atmosphere and all at a reasonable cost.

Excellent service and lovely food.

Wasn't as good as I expected. I went with my family of 14 people for a birthday meal. I had the 10oz rump steak which I felt was on the small side. I asked for peppercorn sauce at a cost of £2 and got something else which I am glad I didn't pour on my steak, it was disgusting. I also asked for fries instead of thick cut chips and what did I get - thick cut chips. None of us will be dining here again.

Been to the Ram Inn for lunch today as it’s under new management. A bit sceptical at first due to many previous management changes BUT it was brilliant! We shared a starter Vegetable Tempura - delicious 😋, H had scampi, chips & peas. I had cheese pie, chips & veg - both very good (especially the cheese pie). Unfortunately we left no room for dessert though. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We will certainly be going again and would definitely recommend you try it. 🤩

Place was empty on a sunday teatime, and the sunday menu was very poor

Had a quick drink here as been to another place to collect something, so I thought we'd call on the way back. Seems very good, nice and bright, and very clean looks a good menu. Will try another time here for food.

Lovely place to call into on a day out. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice choice of beers and soft drinks and very good food - the main reason for our stop off .

Delicious food, very friendly staff beautiful place. Will be going back to sample the goat curry as sadly it wasn't on when we went.

They're getting there act together but although beer was good John Smiths it's becoming too expensive.
