Nice people, lovely food! There is a reason it's been around so long!!

Absolutely amazing food. The service was impeccable from none other than Mo himself. Great food, very welcoming.. not a bad thing to say. Most importantly the food was second to none. Highly advise lamb tikka starter; for a main, if you like it hot. The naga. Unbelievable texture, heat and taste If im ever in the area again I'll be sure to visit again. 100% #glazersout

We eat a lot of Indian food and enjoy tasting different curries in Bewdley. The curry at Rajahs was the best curry I've ever tasted. It was so full of flavour I didn't want it to end, but the amount of food we were brought meant I couldn't finish! I seriously cannot wait to dine inside, out with the 60's decor in with the new. The restaurant is already starting to look amazing with the new shop front, I can certainly tell the dining area will be too.

The food is always good and never disappoints, the place is going through a transformation after 30 years, so looking forward to the refurbishment also noticed on the window, its BYOB, easy on the pounds, why buy 1 pint for £6 when I can take a 6 pack with me lol.

Absolutely love the Rajha and will find any excuse to visit, birthdays, get togethers or just if the day ends in a y. Service is always fantastic, food it always delicious and a lovely atmosphere is guaranteed. Can’t recommend it enough! Never been disappointed with a meal we’ve had here!

Food was very bland was more like a stew when I told him he took no notice, brought me the bill & my husband said I'm not paying for food that was nasty he was abrupt and charged us half..... won't be going bk again

Lovely meal and staff were absolutely wonderful looking after us. Had son and daughter's birthday celebrations and couldn't have asked for a better evening. Friendly and cheerful and even agreed to us bringing a birthday cake. Food delicious and served fast and efficiently. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

All a bit 1970s but food was great

A group of seven of us attended this place last Monday and was not happy. There was no kids menu it took ages for someone to take our order. My daughter wanted just a chicken Korma sauce as she doesn't like chicken but we were told as it is a deal night they couldn't do that. We found a hair in the mint sauce and when we told the waiter that one of our meals was extremely oily he said "Do you want me to get you a low fat one" as if it was normal to have that much oil floating on the top see pic. Although on a Monday it is 30% off I still rather pay full money and enjoy the food. Not a place we will be returning to.

We went to The Rajah as we had read some good things about it. We were pleased we went, the food was great, we both had a lamb dish and it was very tasty. One of had a saag and the other one of the specials washed down with a bottle of house red. It was very reasonably priced and the service was great. Well done The Rajah

I've been eating here for years and love the food, the service and the atmosphere. Authentic flavours, well prepared and served with a smile. There are several Indian restaurants in Bewdley and over the last 30 years many have come and gone, but The Rajah stands out as a gem. Highly recommended.

First night here for husbands birthday with friends. Had a lovely meal good service and very cosy restaurant with the all important comfortable chairs. Going again next week.

My wife booked the Rajah guys to provide the evening buffet at my surprise party at a local venue. They did a great job. Moved quietly in & out, pretty much unnoticed. They served enough food for circa 90 people and it all went down a treat. Great service and great value. Highly recommended.

I've been going the Rajah for years , I have never had a bad meal, the the staff there are so welcoming and polite Mohammed who is a waiter there is very easy to get on with good at his job, nothing is too much trouble , I would hive it 10 stars if I could, The prices for the meals are very good and they are always do special offers on certain days , so if you are new to Bewdley and enjoy Indian food I would highly recommend the Rajah in Bewdley Dale ;)

Amazing, 1st visit tonight since moving to Bewdley. 50% off food on a Monday not drinks. We ordered a few things all absolutely fab. Good staff & service. Nicest Indian I have eaten in a long time, will definitely be a regular.

So upon moving to the area we thought we would try out the local restaurant's beforehand. After visiting Bewdley many times The ragha had been on the to vist list as it still has the charm of an Indian restaurant and not a grill pub. Well i have to say we were a little disappointed. Upon arrival we stood in an empty restaurant waiting for any sign of life. Eventually a gentleman did appear to seat us but not the most welcoming of people. After a 10 minute wait while he chatted to a collection customer our Orders were taken and after what seemed like a lifetime wait our food did Eventually arrive. We both had chicken balti and i have to say the chicken was rather tough. Definitely not what i expected. Sauce itself was spot on though. Simply an average Indian. Needs to do better with so many other restaurants to choose from.

What can I say. Excellent in all ways. service. Food. Ambiance. It was our first visit. Will certainly be back for more

Without a doubt, the worst Indian food we have eaten. Very defensive manager with an aggressive tone. Appeared quite annoyed with our honest feedback. No COVID restrictions in place at all. The only restaurant in the area with availability on a very busy Saturday night, that speaks volumes. The waiting staff were really polite.

My wife and I called on the spur of the moment, we were made most welcome, the menu was very varied, we found the meals we had ordered, to be really good, the service was most personal, nothing was too much trouble, the meal was also complimented with beer from the local Bewdley Brewery, which was an excellent addition We would certainly return on a future visit to Bewdley

Absolutely terrible, the food was sparse and bland, the service non existent. Not the cleanest, no COVID safety precautions, no track & trace. Not a pleasant experience, we’ve visited this restaurant many times in the past years, but never again.

We ate at The Rajah for the second time since the relaxation of the lockdown measures and each time it has been excellent. The new arrangements work well. The service was attentive and polite as always. The food was excellent - great quality, tasty and good portion sizes. They serve Bewdley Brewery beer too which is always a bonus. I would recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return.

Never say in only ever had takeaway when in bewdley on holiday.All I can say is the food is brilliant the waiters chatty and I can't wait to get there this Saturday for my takeaway.

Lovely food , really tasty. I ordered a takeaway and i would have enjoyed it so much more if they had included the starter i ordered instead of just the salad. Otherwise, really nice food. Just check your order if you are ordering a takeaway

On arrival met by the most miserable waiter I have ever come across, me and my husband are new to the area and have tried many of the bewdley restaurants which have all been very nice this place was a total exception, the drink selection is very poor no draught beer and a vey small bottle of cobra approx half a pint nearly £4, the food we ordered for main was also very poor my husband descrired his balti madras as totally tastless and dry, my tikka massala was also poor and had that much red dye in it i was suprised i did not glow in the dark on leaving, the toilet upstairs were unclean and grubby would never go back.

Very friendly, good service and lovely atmosphere. Some of the best naan and tandoori I have tasted.

After a few drinks we decided to stop off for a curry! 4 of us and we shared two Curry's rice chips and bottle of wine and as we left were charged £75 this should only of been about £40 maximum. Would never return or recommend

I have never written a tripadvisor review before but feel like I have to for this place. This was BY FAR the worst curry I have ever had. I ordered a chicken puri which tasted like off fish and smelt like it. For main course I had a chicken tikka bhuna, the chicken was something I have never come across before - it had the consistency of chewing gum and soft cheese. Everything was frozen and lacked any taste what so ever, awful.

Most tasteless awful curry I think I've ever had. The chicken was disgusting, barely any taste and the consistency of cheese, Cheap microwaved pre- frozen stuff. Do not recommend and will not return. Seemed to be the only place in Bewdley on a Saturday night that had empty tables - says it all.

Nice food, good service and atmosphere albeit a little outdated. Negatives, portions particularly the rice are miserly, the pricing is also too high for the overall standard of the place. Starters were excellent, Chicken on Puree and Chicken Tikka.The mains of Lamb Chilli Masala (perfectly prepared) and Lamb Rogon Josh, unripe part cooked tomato ( yak! ), served with Mushroom Pilau rice, very small serving and a Stuffed Paratha (very good).At the prices charged the place would benefit from being brought into the modern age.The portion control for the rice, a cheap staple is just mean.

Lovely food, but not great value for money.

Bad food, Poor service. No decency in talking with customers. Every curry taste the same, same paste used. Dum biryani is like chinese fried rice. Quantity is so less that you need to order double to fill stomach. Over this per person ordering a main dish is compulsory. Its a joke of saying its Indian restaurant, no where near by. Would give 0 star if possible. Waste of money.

Great little Indian restaurant in Bewdley. Visited on a weekday and we were the only ones in there, so had the full attention of staff. Food was fantastic and very cheap, repeat visits are assured.

We entered the door and were greeted and shown to a table. The table cloth was stained and dirty. On asking for a replacement the waiter said he would not like to serve us and asked us to leave on that we walked over the road and had a lovely meal. We will definitely not be returning.

Excellent desi food, very tasty, just be sure to ask for extra chilli while ordering and the food is worth the visit. Halal too when I asked and only a 5 min drive from West Midlands Safari Park, a great way to end a day out. Would be good to see a couple of high-chairs next time for little ones. But, thanks to the staff for their attention, and giving the baby bottle a rinse, much appreciated.

Bad food and worse management. We used for a takeaway whilst visiting family and was honestly the most watery, oily curry I have ever eaten. All 3 of the baltis we ordered were of the same standard. The family home was around a 20 minute drive away from the restaurant so we rang ahead and said we would collect. When we arrived I was told they were running late with my order so I paid upfront and then said I would pop to tesco and return to pick it up when they had got it ready. It finally came after another short wait after going to the shop and returning. When we got home and attempted what we could eat of the meal and my partners sister feeling sick we rang to complain about the food expecting the usual customer service response of a refund only to be told we didn't know what we were talking about and should either return with the food which was now in the bin and 20 minutes away or to have rang straight away which was exactly what we were doing. We were finally told to ring the next day when the manager would be available and we did, Only to be argued with again telling us that the reason for delay was because I went to tesco and that we won't be getting a refund. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, TERRIBLE FOOD and they will be missing out on regular orders from our family who live over that way. Stay away from them.

Very poor quality of food. Chicken was swimming in oil. The sauce was literally that thin and oily it was just making my naan bread wet rather than being able to scoop up the sauce. Avoid at all costs.

Visiting for the Santa train and hadn’t realised most restaurants were closed Sunday evening in Bewdley. So glad they were as we might have missed this Indian. Have to say one of the best I have been to in terms of the food which was delightful. I had the Chicken Dhansak which was wonderful. Hot and sweet and sour. Gravy was a brilliant paste consistency, just how I like it (many restaurants get it wrong so always feel its a risk ordering). My partner had the Pathia and she was raving about how good hers was. Thin and crispy Naan bread not one of those horrible doughy ones. As regular Indian food eaters, this place is a must and highly recommended. Might not look much from the outside but well worth entering.

We stopped in Bewdley on the way back from the Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre. It was about 8pm Saturday. They found a table for two for us immediately. The restaurant was very warm and cosy on a cold night. We had a pint of draught lager and a wine, poppadoms, I had a chicken, chickpea and spinach curry (house special D) and my partner had a king prawn saag. The food was really good. Oh we had a coriander naan too. £17 per head, great value, really enjoyed it.

Food and service was absolutely brilliant

A very little restaurant, very cramped with people coming in and out for takeaways, very poor service, but worst of all my main meal was so salty it was inedible, I was offered a replacement but I couldn’t wait leave. This restaurant is one to miss.

To concerned with takeaways. 30 mins no staff asking you for choices. Staff said “we busy with takeaways” no you have customers in restaurant.

Saturday night in Bewdley with 6 friends and hadn’t booked a table anywhere. Our final call was The Rajah and not somewhere we,d ever used before as always use alternative restaurants in the town. Staff were very welcoming and were able to accommodate our group. We had poppadoms with onion salad and mint sauce (I personally don’t like mint and no alternative but didn’t mind). Main course I asked if I could have garlic chilli chicken as not on the menu which was no problem, with mushroom pilau rice and garlic nan bread. I shared a bottle of wine with my husband and our total contribution to the bill was less than £20 each. Excellent value, great food. We all enjoyed our meals. Staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return. Great meal.

We have been to the Rajah many times over the last 35 years, but tonight was the first visit for over a year. To be honest the food was all pretty bland and tasteless. The onion bhajees had little taste, and the shish kebab had no kick to it at all. Main courses were marginally better, although the chicken piaza was quite bland, and the chicken madras had heat but little taste.

I have always found the Rajah quite good but this weekend the takeaway was tasteless and bland. All,the dishes tasted of watered down tomato sauce and it was as if they had forgotten to add the necessary spices. A huge disappointment.

Sunday night, very quiet, but a cracking meal. Lamb chilli massala and chicken jalfrezi both fresh cooked and very tasty. Tried the other Indian restaurants in town and this was definitely best for food

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Certainly not a world beater on the cuisine side of things, but very typical for a UK India restaurant. Very well situated just up from the river and parking just across the road in the pay and display (free after 6.30pm). Don't park outside. This is very short term parking only. Restaurant is licensed and has a good selection on the menu. Well priced and well presented.
