Having not long moved into the general area I was looking for a nice pub for myself and my family to visit for a festive family meal. This was a great choice. Nora and her gang are fantastic. Service is extremely efficient and professional but also very warm and welcoming. It was our first visit but we felt like regulars/friends from the minute we walked in. It's exactly how a proper boozer should be. Our meal was lovely and great value. We ate inside, what with it being December, but I can imagine the huge covered conservatory and garden areas are lovely in the summer months.

Nora and Kieran always make everyone feel welcome. Hosted a great party for our daughter’s 21st and they helped us make it a wonderful day for everyone!.

Found this place during visiting my uncle. It’s a must place to go. Great professional staff great service. Great pub food suggest Fish and chips Friday or Saturday and Roast Sunday. They made me fell very welcome it has great atmosphere. Good selection of beers. Plenty of Tv inside to watch sport. Or the beer garden. Highly Recommend Thank you

Poor communication when trying to book

Irish bar, shows GAA matches but has plenty of other screens with Rugby and football so something for everyone. They do a fairly priced Sunday carvery.

Always fantastic beer. Irish run pub, so the Guinness is always spot on. Didn't eat, but have heard they do a good roast dinner. I'll probably try it, in the euros, as its a sports bar as well, with loads of screens, inside and out. Paul

Waited at bar for 20 minutes to order drinks and food , staff totally ignored me and was too engrossed in serving drinks at the speed of a snail ,thanks but no thanks , why am I upset because I spent 29 years in catering business and I’m still faster than your bar people

Had a really good Sunday roast, my partner had the beef he said it was excellent, I had turkey and gammon which was very good, great portions and lovely fresh veg,loved the cabbage. Also you get mashed potatoes along with nice roasties.

Hot roast beef sandwich, salad and curly fries, is my regular lunchtime go to for food.

Nice surroundings friendly staff please bear in mind if you're going on the lash make sure you have deep pockets swear these guys think they are in West end 😀

Great location, unfortunately the service and staff are dreadful. Only interested in talking to one another behind the bar. Even the Manager doesn't seem bothered.

Always a decent pint and lonely outdoor area

The back garden is massive with any seatings. I love the gigantic marquee. No need to worry about sun or rain. The food is big portion and is lovely. Our waitress is Kate. She is nice and friendly and very efficient. Thank you for the lovely evening

A friendly and welcoming Irish-run pub that serves an excellent selection of beer and wine, and also really great-tasting pub classics. A great place for a relaxed night out watching the latest sports, Sunday lunch with the kids, or just chatting with friends. The newly-refurbished beer garden is incredible too! 👍

I quite like it here. On occasion it can get a little rough, but it's mostly nice, with friendly staff and a lovely beer garden where you can watch football. Sometimes they have a bouncy castle.

Superb pub only let down by the to fact that the railway is a full 200 yards away. I had rather hoped for an inter city 125 to chug through the bar on the hour every hour, but sadly had to satisfy myself in the toilet where the screens above the urinal allowed me to continue to watch Spurs conceding goal after goal whilst I let go of each of several pints of expertly served Guinness.

Best pub in Barnet by far for a sporty atmosphere. Quickest service in the area too. If sports isn't for you, the pub's classy enough without it. Halloumi & avocado burger = BANGS! Roast dinners = BANGS! Cajun chicken = You get the picture. Ooooh and the curry chips. 👌

It's a real family feel pub with a really local feel unlike most chain pubs. The staff are really friendly and personable. The food was lovely, we had the roast dinner and lasagne with generous portion sizes. The sticky toffee pudding and strawberry cheesecake finished the meal of nicely. I can highly recommend and will be returning here again

Food was over cooked and over priced for the quality, we wasn't offered refills for our drinks and yes I'm aware we would have to pay more, chicken Kiev was like asda own brand and like my home cooking over cooked and hardly no filling. There was no atmosphere from the servers, no smile or banter and I was worried I was gonna find a false nail somewhere. But overall I would give 4/10 for effort. But we won't be returning...

Food was surprisingly good for a pub

In general a good pub. I'm not pub's fan. Just the young waitresses had a smile on their faces. Can't say the same about the more experienced one's.

Was in there on Saturday night it was really busy and it was amazing!!! Been going there for years but it felt different, the vibe was brilliant!!! The bar staff were really friendly and polite as always and very efficient!!! The owners were very welcoming as well and they have been at the heart of the Barnet community for years!!!

Went for the first time with friends and will certainly go again. The outside space is perfect, it is heated, covered with lots of space around the tables. Food was delicious, all the staff were friendly, service was excellent and in these unusual times the whole pub felt very COVID safe.

Spontaneous night out on Saturday night led to the Railway Tavern and how amazed I was to see the hard work that has been put in by Nora and Kieran to make their customers as safe as possible from the COVID 19 virus. The garden area all undercover and so welcoming with great gas heaters to keep you warm on chilly nights..I felt like I was on holiday.😊

Great friendly pub, we go here to watch sport when not on standard TV channels very popular, also great food :) outside area at the rear for Children too and located around the corner from the train line (obviously lol) so can catch train there and back, no drinking and driving!

Excellent service - you never wait more than 30 seconds for someone to acknowledge you, even if they're serving some else. Takes the stress out of wondering if someone is going to push in. Also, you can't knock a pub with TV screens in the gents!

Meh. Popped in for a quick pint after working 11 hrs straight, without food or drink. Wasnt expecting much - but a simple hello or better still, a smile - would've been nice.

Far worse places to have a pint while waiting for a curry. So many screens that it's almost impossible not to get a decent view. And the screens in the gents are a lovely touch.
