Fresh Fry Fish 'N' Chips in Barnet

Best fish in London! They have a lunchtime menu from 12-5pm and you can have fresh fish fried or grilled for around £12.50. I had the grilled cod and it was so delicious! Generous portion and honestly soooo fresh! The chips too! Highly recommended and the staff are nice :)

Went in very recently paid for large cod and chips when came very small portion of cod actually looked like a medium table next door I heard they ordered medium cods when I ordered large but they gave me medium size as shown and charged me for large cod. I will definitely not be returning. Really upsetting being overcharged when ordered large size

I have been going to Barnet Fresh fry for decades and the fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked. The chips are nicely cut and plentiful in portion. Mushy peas and battered sausage are also tasty. I have only had cod and haddock here so can’t comment on the other fish choices. They also have Matzo option if you prefer to batter but I like good ole traditional battered fish with chips with salt and vinegar and you will find it lard to top this place. Plenty of seating area in the restaurant section. Only complaint is that they don’t take card on collecting food. You have to pay by cash and the nearest machine is across the main road next to Tescos. If they sorted this out then they would get full 5 stars.

I'm a regular and I would highly recommend.

The food is good but delivery driver just blindly followed sat nav instead of actually looking at door numbers and I had to go and find him out in the street.

The cod in batter was more like the frozen "cod in batter" that you buy in supermarket. No nice large flakes of fish and crispy textured batter.

The best Fish And Chips in London if not the UK I have been coming here for quite a few years. I think maybe over 15 years they make the best Fish in matzo fresh goodquality Service in atmosphere is amazing if you come sometimes at peak times you might have to wait for a table or go to book pre-hand even their takeaway is very good quick and efficient. If you ring in it normally takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get the fish ready .

Today I had my 80th birthday dinner in the restaurant with 36 family and friends. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly, they had all the tables laid out ready for us, nothing was too much trouble. Every one of my guests enjoyed the large portions of a variety of meals plus the quality of the food. Many thanks for making it a great experience.

Brilliant chippy, but you accidentally sent me a regular Coke instead of Coke Zero which I can't drink as I'm diabetic.

I had ordered from this restaurant with Just Eat and the attitude when I had a delayed order was really appalling. Unfortunately my courier tire had been punctured and he got his friend instead to deliver it to me, which was really appreciated because he did not need to do that. But the guy I called to the restaurant to ask where my order went was abrupt and told me to contact Just Eat and get a refund, not even trying to rectify the problem; I’ve ordered here a few times as well to add and never had a problem until now, not ordering from here again, i’m sorry.

The courier was really helpful with the situation I had as his tire had puncture and got his friend to deliver it for me, poor attitude from the restaurant though.

Just ordered sausage in batter and chips soft and mushy inside and pink wasn’t cooked properly didn’t eat went straight in bin,should of took it back to be honest but traffic a nightmare won’t be going back

31.08 my husband bought 2 portions of cod and chips to take away today. Unfortunately it wasn't cod but some other fish with a backbone and bones. And the fish was stinking, we threw everything in the bin. The order cost 29f.

I always get my fish and chips from this place. However on 3 occasions when I ordered fish and chips via Uber eats, the fish batter wasn't cooked well and was mushy and soft. I put instructions to make the batter crispy but they ignored each time. I don't think I will order from here again as you don't listen to instructions !!! Waste of money.

The food and the service in general is great, however, the staff has no clue about allergens which is a big concern!

I ordered cod but was served a different type of fish that didn’t have the large, firm flakes typical of cod. Additionally, the batter was too thick for the thin piece of fish inside. I mentioned this to the waitress, who smiled but didn’t seem to take my concern seriously. When I spoke with the owner, he was quite dismissive and made me feel as though I didn’t know what cod should taste like. I was hoping for a better experience and a more understanding response.

I was surprised that the gougon batter was not crispy and did not seem as fresh as I’m used to from Fresh Fry. I hope this was a one off. The chips were as good as usual.

I don't expect to pay a fiver for large chips as an "extra" im genuinely fuming and hungry .everytime I order from here there's a disappointment

We have a fish and chip get together with a group of friends every couple of months at our homes. We ordered for 16 people to be delivered on a Sunday eve at 7.30. Arrived on the dot and all the food was perfect. Large portions and the best fish was perfectly cooked. Absolutely faultless, highly recommend and will definitely do it again. Thank you all for making our evening perfect.

Really tasty food, but I asked for salt & vinegar and got neither, which was disappointing. Luckily I had my own, so I won't mark you down for it, but please read the comments or give us an option to select what we want.

The fish was very poor, both pieces were not white and the batter was soft with no crispness. The chips were clean and white looking but the very dry inside and needed a lot of vinegar. Overall the standard was very poor for a posh looking Fish Restaurant.

I have ordered a chicken burger for 15 GBP, it is very naked just some buns and a slice of chicken. The fries were not even fried more like boiled, not even salted nothing. Attached a picture for reference. Definitely don’t recommend this place for burgers.

Fresh Fry are the best! We used to only get proper fish and chips by the sea on our annual holiday, now we can get it when we want! Also the delivery was fast and very polite. Highly recommended.

Ours was drivers 2nd drop off and the food took 14 minutes to get here which meant that it wasn't as hot as it could of been, The batter on the fish was soft. Also we ordered cod and think we were given haddock. ALL VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Fish always fresh and nicely cooked, as are the chips. Batter always crisp and light, not greasy. Very good and friendly service and atmosphere but can be a little too noisy at times as limited soundproofing. The many regular customers we see in there show how popular it is.

Some of the worst food I've had in a long time, the pla lard prig is just sugar syrup and old fish covered in waaaay too much batter, with the batter being a common theme with all dishes I tried, the prawns were also covered in twice the needed batter with half of the prawn having no prawn and just batter. The onion rings were raw inside with overcooked, and tasteless batter, the fish from the fish and chips was passable with only slightly too much batter, though flavourless, but the chips were nice. portions were also on the small side, though pricing is good.

Amazing fish. Recently I discovered this place and now go every Friday for grilled fish. It's so fresh and super tasty. Massive portion of fish, salads, chips or potatoes. My favourite fish place in London. Highly recommended 👍

We are regulars here, but disappointed with our order today. Instead of 2 large haddocks, we've got 2 small pieces, easily fitted into the middle of the box, with generous space around. Instead of 2 large chips, we've got less amount than one portion contained before. We expected a little bit more for this price, and at this score...

Really sad that salad is reduced to at least 50% for the same price - my salad only eater was so disappointed 😢😢😢😢 maybe not next time - I will rustle up one at home
