I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the appalling service received during our recent visit to your establishment. It was our first time dining with you, and the occasion was a special one… my nephew’s 1st birthday. We were a group of ten and had expected, at the very least, a courteous and welcoming experience. Unfortunately, the service fell shockingly short. Our waiter, an older gentleman with glasses and combed-back hair, was unapproachable and appeared visibly unhappy to be serving us. From the moment we arrived, his tone was curt and dismissive. After ordering food for the two children, we politely requested the complimentary breads and dips. His blunt response – “you have to order first” – was unnecessary and rude, especially given that we had already had the children’s food on the table. We then attempted to complete our main order. When one of our guests asked if she could substitute the bread in her meal for a salad, the waiter snapped, “It comes with bread!” – in an aggressive tone that was completely unacceptable. I addressed this with him directly, explaining that as first-time guests unfamiliar with the menu, he should be offering guidance and accommodating where possible, not reacting rudely. Rather than apologising, he tried to justify his behaviour. I ended the discussion to avoid escalating the situation further. It must also be said – and this was a sentiment quietly echoed among our party – that we could not help but notice a stark difference in the way our group, of mixed Black heritage, was treated compared to other non-Black tables around us. The courtesy, tone, and general attitude shown to other guests stood in sharp contrast to how we were spoken to and dealt with. While we do not make such observations lightly, the disparity in treatment was troubling and impossible to ignore. Despite proceeding with the order, it became clear that we no longer felt comfortable dining in your restaurant. I informed the waiter to cancel the food and bring us the bill instead. He did so without apology or any attempt to remedy the situation. A different staff member brought us a bill – which was not even ours – and again, no one came to acknowledge what had gone wrong. When we eventually paid and left, one of our guests commented, “your service is very bad,” to which one of the staff members dismissively gestured towards the exit. This final gesture summed up the complete lack of professionalism and care shown throughout. We went a few doors down to another Turkish restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed and looked after by the owner himself – a stark contrast to the disrespectful treatment we received at your venue. That restaurant will now receive our business and recommendation. You lost a £400 sale today due to one waiter’s poor attitude and a team that made no effort to turn around a clearly negative experience. We will not be returning, nor will we be recommending your establishment to others!

Halal turkish restaurant. Its quite authentic turkish tasting restaurant. It has alot of variety and quite fulfilling dishes. Slightly expensive. The ambiance is amazing aswell.

Having lived in London and now residing in Germany, I can confidently say that finding Turkish food that truly stands out can be a challenge, even in Germany where it is widely available. However, Likya Turkish Restaurant in London is a place whose quality, in my opinion, surpasses many others. It's a restaurant I make a point of visiting whenever I am in London. The quality of the ingredients is consistently high. The vegetables are notably fresh, and the meat is grilled to perfection – cooked just enough to retain its natural juiciness and rich flavour. This attention to detail in the cooking process is evident in every bite. The accompanying elements are also excellent. The bread and hummus are very tasty, and the various sauces provided complement both the main dishes and the bread wonderfully, adding layers of flavour without overpowering the main components. One aspect to consider is the restaurant's location. It is situated a little outside the immediate city centre, not within the central 'Zone 1'. This means reaching it requires a bit of travel time, depending on where you are coming from in London. However, based on the exceptional taste and quality of the food served, I firmly believe that the flavour makes the journey and the time spent travelling entirely worthwhile. For anyone in London, or even visiting from elsewhere, who is seeking genuinely delicious, authentic, and high-quality Turkish cuisine, Likya Turkish Restaurant is a destination I would highly recommend. Its superb taste justifies the effort to get there.

Golders Green's Likya is a true embassy of Turkish food in London. Having been to many Turkish restaurants in my life, I think that this one truly combines delicious flavours with reasonable prices. The service is also fantastic - Apo and his colleagues, among them Ali, Ůmūt, and others, always make sure that I'm well taken care of and make every trip to this establishment a great experience. I highly recommend Likya to anyone who enjoys high quality, authentic Turkish cuisine.

This is one of the best Turkish restaurants I've ever been to. Everything was amazing: the food, the atmosphere, and the service. It makes you feel like you are in Turkey. I really can't recommend it enough. Full marks awarded.

Been here a few times and it never fails! Super lovely restaurant with incredible food quality and very generous portions! I'd say do not order a starter and just jump straight into the mains, otherwise it's difficult to finish the meal without feeling stuffed. Ordered mixed donners, hummus amongst other things and you can't go wrong with anything here :) Service can be a bit slow if it's busy but they're super attentive and check-in on you every now and then - will keep coming back!

Disappointing Experience – Overpriced for the Same Food! I’ve been a regular customer at this restaurant and have ordered the same food multiple times, always paying around £130. However, today, they suddenly charged me £220 for the exact same order! No explanation, no justification—just a massive price increase out of nowhere. To make matters worse, the service was no different than usual. If anything, it felt rushed and inattentive. I understand prices can fluctuate, but this kind of inconsistency is unacceptable. It feels like they’re taking advantage of customers who don’t check their bills. I won’t be coming back anytime soon. If you value fairness and transparency, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Really lovely restaurant. The portions are huge and the food is really delicious. I would recommend the lamb doner and chicken with yoghurt. We also got some Turkish delights and bread on the house. I would recommend booking on a Friday or Saturday night

Unfortunately, this is another example of a previously good local restaurant that has turned greedy, and seemingly rude. We arrived and placed an order with a waiter who was not paying much attention to detail, having to repeat my basic order of 4x mains of the same dish, while pointing to the menu simultaneously to confirm. The orders arrive and they are wrong, no big deal we don't mind waiting for the correct ones, mistakes happen. However, what is not appreciated is the waiter dashing back around to the table to point and accuse me of reading the wrong item on the menu. He doubles down again saying I am wrong, with other tables now watching. He eventually gives up when the other 3 members of the table confirm that what I said was correct. The food turns up later, with the waiter once again returning with the menu in Turkish, and asking me to point to the dish I ordered in a clear attempt to try and get me to pick the wrong one under pressure. Once pointing at the correct dish, he slams the menu shut and shuffles back down to the kitchen. Before leaving he also tries to charge us for the more expensive dish we never ate, in another poor attempt to get one back at us. Pathetic. Perhaps if they reverted back to what made them a success in the first place, which was providing large portions of food at good prices, the place would be busier. FYI, people do also see past your attempt at a "revamp" bringing in some fancy-looking chairs and velvet seats, in exchange for 30% increased prices and smaller portions across the board.

Ali Nazik could be much much better, it was more aubergines rather than lamb kebabs in one portion. pilav and Bulgur also cooked not well. Season Salad was ok. In total i can't give them more than 2stars as Their prices also are higher than other Turkish restaurants. We were 2 persons and the table size was not big enough to put our plates and foods. It was not so comfortable for us. Hope managing team improve the quality and quantity of their food and services.

The staff's behavior was so bad that I was embarrassed the whole time I was sitting there! They just wanted to force me to sell something! After the starter, we decided to order a dish and share it. Restaurant Review While this restaurant offers a clean environment, professional service, and friendly staff, my experience with their takeaway orders has been disappointing. I strongly recommend double-checking your bag before leaving, as there have been instances where items were forgotten or incorrectly prepared. On multiple occasions, they left out essentials like rice, salad, or sauce, and it seems some chefs struggle to accurately follow the order. Additionally, they often don’t take special requests, like having meat cooked well-done or medium, into proper consideration. That being said, the dine-in experience is much better, with courteous staff and an impeccable atmosphere. Just be cautious if you're opting for takeaway.

One of the worst experiences we have ever had. My friend and I attended yesterday with all three of our children. To start with, it seemed to be a bother for them that we had a pram (the shop was empty, only two tables full so there was plenty of space available). I explained to them that my 7month old who was asleep in the baby carrier had to be beside me in the pram as she was asleep. They accommodated eventually but it seemed that it was bother for them. We then got the menus and wanted to get a kids meal and a starter platter and another few starters to share rather than main dishes. We had asked for the largest platters. After a long time of us settling the kids and making sure everything was ok, the rude manager said that we would all have to get one main dish each! When I explained that we wanted the kids to have their dinner and we wanted platters - he said no. We had to pack all of our things and leave and they were incredibly rude. No wonder why the shop is so empty- we used to go many years ago but it seems that the management has changed and everything has gone downhill from there. They clearly want every penny and had no compassion for a family with three kids who had already settled. They have lost a large group of customers for good as none of our families or friends will be going ever again.

What a find in the heart of Dundee. Likya serves up proper Turkish cooking without any fuss - the kind of place where the bread comes fresh from the oven and the grilled meats are spot on. The mixed mezze is generous and full of flavour, while the lamb shish is beautifully tender. Small, family-run spot with a warm welcome and tables that fill up quickly (for good reason). I went with my 3 years old and husband on new year day from 10 miles away, we only drove to this restaurant for dinner only, as soon as we went there the guy who had attitude issue and very disgraceful, disrespectly treated us as we’ve asked for a corner table as we didn’t want our kid to go to any others table and disturbed them, the guy didn’t like it and I witnessed that he went to other staff member and moaning about us on this matter, we waited for almost 10 minutes for menu, none of the staff came to us and give us one, this guy whom was moaning kept staring us and standing at their counter but didn’t bother to come and give us menu, apart of that he went to another table which was middle of restaurant and started clearing their table as they finished their food which is absolutely disgusting as as a waiter they suppose to greet their customers and treat everyone with dignity and equality which wasn’t happened on our new year dinner night. I hope this needs to look very closely by owner as it’s very disrespectful so walk away from this service

After paying for my meal I then started to receive more charges on my card from this restaurant, on the same day and in the future. Seems they may do something criminal here. I've raised with my bank and authorities. Too bad because everything else was okay.

First of all their bread and sauces for starters is amazing. The bread is warm, soft and tasty combined with the yogurt based sauce or my favourite chilly sauce. I got a mixed kebab and it came with ample salad. The meat was juicy and grilled perfectly. The portion was okay but filling enough. I would recommend this place for sure!

Very very bad food, the Greeks were cold and not good and hard to eat, even if the tray of fries were plentiful, frankly I don't recommend it. We had paid for 6 menus which we then threw in the trash!!

Okay , so i went there today , ordered some food , and was having a good time , the food was okay. I was noticing that as people were done with their food , they were being asked if they want tea(which was complimentary) ,every table was asked that , and also i noticed that every table was served even sweets , 1 piece of baklava and 1 piece of small marshmallow. The table next to me was served the baklava and marshmallow without even asking , i even asked the gentleman to see their bill, it wasn’t included in the bill nor was tea. So i was done eating and the waiter straight up gave us the bill , i was confused as i was expecting her to ask me if i needed tea , i wasn’t asked anything, its like she just wanted us to pay and leave , nonetheless i gave her cash and asked her for tea , she gave a look and went to get it . She got me the tea and i asked if she will give us the baklava. She was like how many portions , i asked isn’t it complimentary? She lied to my face that no its chargeable , i already had seen my neighbour table’s bill and was disappointed, i immediately understood that i was being profiled maybe because she was the same server of the table next to me . I just got up and left , what a bad experience. Paid 40 GBP, and this kind of behaviour. Anyways , never going back. Sharing a photo with another review, read the last line.

I have come with my family to this place so many times either for Sunday lunch or during the week day and I have decided to write my opinion. Location, is very good, on the high street, parking can be a issue due to restrictions which is not managed by the restaurant is the local council, you have to pay per hour and is from Monday to Sunday. Food, is absolutely delicious and promptly served with delicious starters. When you finish your meal, on the house you will be offered a nice Turkish delights and tea! Thank you, Likya!

Friend the Turks, they brought me here to eat It seems that I think it is a good Turkish restaurant in London, but the location is far away and remote. Turkish Ayran Salted Yogurt It's weird at first taste but it's very addictive and I like it very much. The taste of the biscuits with chili peppers brings back the flavor of northwest China. Turkish desserts are really sweet, a bit too sweet to be aesthetic.

I recently went to pick up a takeaway and was pleasantly surprised to find the entire shop beautifully refurbished – it looks fantastic! I ordered the mixed doner in a wrap, and every bite was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Excellent food but in a fast food environment

I absolutely adore this place. The meat, grilled over scorching hot charcoal, is incredibly tender and bursting with flavour. Dining in is a must to truly enjoy the experience. Every bite was fantastic! While it's a paradise for meat lovers, don't overlook the grilled vegetables—they’re just as delicious and perfectly done. Highly recommend!

Hassan and his team lead an efficient front of house service which delivers consistently good food. Good luck getting a table on the weekend without booking in advance! Recommendations: Mixed Doner, Mixed Kebab, Adana Kofte and Baba Ghanoush. Will add photos, next time I'm there.

The food here is consistently fresh and delicious, especially the grilled meats and salads, which are hard to fault. A nice touch is the complimentary warm, freshly baked bread with dips that’s served as soon as you arrive. The menu offers a great variety, with plenty of options for kebabs, grills, cold and hot starters, and even a good selection for vegetarians!

We enjoyed it and were served courteously. Always happy...at 5 p.m. there were still enough free tables. Thumbs up!

Great food and service have been consistent throughout the years. Haven't been here in a while as I'm not often in the area, but the restaurant has had a nice refurb and selection of food is excellent. Was surprised to see that there wasn't the large platters on the menu, but none was needed as there were only two of us. The iskender is fantastic, incredibly filling and you're guaranteed to be full afterwards.

My last visit was a disaster. The waiter was absolutely grumpy and careless. They charged us for tea and baghlava which were always free like most Turkish restaurant. And when I wanted to speak to the manager another waiter said I am a manager, he was very rude with no manner. Zero customer service. This was my last visit

Wonderfully tasty food! Such soft chicken and really well presented in the plate. After they serve you some Turkish delight sweets as complimentary. Soft bread with dips served at the start too as complimentary. Really recommend! And nice service too!

Authentic restaurant. Big charcoal grill. Food was good but my lamb kofte was just way too fatty and oily and I'd have preffered it a bit more charred. Also inflexible about mixing chicken and minced lamb skewers to give a variety with one of each. I wrapped mine in serviettes to absorb the fat. Hopefully just a one off.

Food was delicious. Price is on par with restaurant of this calibre. Went back to back two days (last week) and even though I tipped generously in addition to the service charge, they didn't recognise us (same server, same manager too) 🙄😄. But I guess its ok, as it felt like they get quite busy and they have a solid loyal client-base.

Terrible service, think twice before booking. Waited an hour for cutlery to come and order to be taken, food missing from order, had to repeatedly ask for drinks which were ordered a long time ago, clearly understaffed. When raised this issue with who I can only assume was the manager, he did not care. If you do not care about your customers and try to cut staffing costs which result in poor quality food and service, you will inevitably lose business it is as simple as that.

Ordered 2 portions of grill mix to take away for £45 and they forgot the rice !

I took my son back to our old favorite place lykia in Golders Green, We love the new refurbished look of the restaurant, very stylish and bright. Exceptional food, delightful ambiance, and incredibly friendly staff.i can't believe we had been to this place is more than 20 years. A Turkish restaurant we used to go to when we lived in North London. It's been a while since I've been here. The decoration style is more modern, and the food is still large and affordable as before. Whether it's Turkish-style pizza or grilled eggplant, grilled lamb chops, grilled chicken, and grilled cheese, everything is very authentic. In the evening, the restaurant is already crowded. It is indeed a time-honored restaurant in NW and never disappoints you🤗

Each dish seemed to be a painful reminder of what happens when culinary skills are absent. The flavors were bland, and the ingredients tasted old. Adding insult to injury, the portions were ridiculously small. It felt like they were rationing food in the middle of a crisis. **Service: 1/5** The service was abysmally rude. From the moment we walked in, the staff behaved as if they were doing us a favor by letting us eat there. It was clear that customer service is not a priority at this establishment. I was not even asked why I didn’t even ate any of the starters or the mains all straight to the bin. **Ambiance: 1/5** As if the food and service weren’t bad enough, the atmosphere was dreadful. The music was loud and horrifying, making it impossible to have a conversation. It felt like we were trapped in a nightmarish concert rather than dining in a restaurant. Overall, Likya managed to fail spectacularly in every aspect of what should be a pleasant dining experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are looking for a textbook example of how not to run a restaurant.

workers rude. told us we had to sit at a certain table, one of the servers kept telling us to hurry up and leave and the other server started giving attitude because we didn’t pay service charge. never coming back

Had dinner here last night. 4 people all sick that very night with food poisoning. Mum had a salad with some doner kebab she was vomiting and had diarrhoea and stomach pains all night. Aunt had gas stomach pains and indigestion, my son and I had gas and indigestion. PLEASE TAKE MORE CARE WITH WHAT YOU SERVE TO CUSTOMERS. Stopped going here years ago after I saw when picking up my take away that they used the same chopping board and knife for raw and cooked food. Been 5 years thought we would try it again. Big mistake!

Good experience with key partners

This Turkish restaurant is a culinary gem! Exceptional food, delightful ambiance, and incredibly friendly staff.We are loyal customers for 11 years. Each dish is a masterpiece. A must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience.

I used to go there quite often. I went last week when the restaurant wasn’t busy at all and we were asked to buy two main meals and a side. However we only wanted the mixed grill (25 pounds) and some sides. It is enough food but they insisted that they wouldn’t serve us if we didn’t buy more. They wanted us to pay over 50 pounds (2 people). The staff has not been polite and the quantity has always been small compared to other Turkish restaurants but we continued going. That was the last straw. Try Harringey lanes and Antepliler to see the difference

I love Turkish breakfasts, the best on Golders Green... I come back whenever I can... the menu is complete and there are many more things to try and discover. The neighborhood is also very peculiar on weekends when you see Jews walking in their attire to the synagogues and that entertains or attracts attention.

Was a fan of this place. They have ruined its appeal entirely. While the food is okay and portion sizes are huge, service and atmosphere have been run to the ground. Had to enquire about my order 3 times with dishes not coming out at the same time. Had my meal charged twice on the receipt despite receiving it once (they ultimately charged me once). The main host is delightful, however their servers are inhospitable and lack proactivity to ask and look after your dining experience. The inside of this establishment looked lovely before with paintings and a beautifully textured and painted render, however now it looks like being inside a cement block. The walls look exposed and it feels like being in a construction site. All of the paintings have been removed and there is no charm. I will not be dining here again.
