Could not fault the place. Stopped for dinner on the way to Wales for a mountain biking trip. It has an old bowling alley, darts etc. Parking for larger camper vans in the back. Will defo return with or without bikes just to eat more pie and have a nice beer!

The staff were very friendly. The range of food on the menu was really good, including vegetarian meals, which were excellent.

Really delicious Sunday roasts nut and meat, fabulous atmosphere, beautiful old pub, we as a family of 12 had an amazing time, thank you all.

Traditional country pub in lovely village, best roast dinner ever

Must have visited on a night when the chef was off as worst food had in a pub for long time. Pub itself was fine and the bar team were very friendly. It was so bad we couldn't finish our meals and simply paid and walked out. Shame as we went due to the food reviews.

Excellent pub serving proper pub food. There's a good selection of real ales too. The service was friendly and very prompt and the portion sizes are spot on. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!!

A fabulous place to stay or have a meal. Jon & Rog are great. We stayed here while walking to John O’Groats. If every pub was this good, the trip will be amazing. Have one of their pies !! There is skittles too !!

Booked a family lunch on Saturday for a special birthday. We had a wonderful meal, all perfectly cooked. Lovely welcome from the staff and relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Lucky to have this as our local. Thanks for making mums day!

New to the area, first visit, will be back. Skittles with meal to follow. Really nice beef roast with loads of veg. Friendly, welcoming staff and lots of special evening events. Update been several times now. Still great Sunday lunch at very reasonable price. Also deliver roasts and fish and chips locally.

Had a lovely meal here today, very pleased with the quality of the food and variety of drinks that were available. We both had the smoked haddock special, which had excellent flavour and was very well cooked with large portions. We opted for chips, which are truly excellent skin on style. For pudding, we had chocolate fudge cake, which was also delicious and warm with the options of ice cream, cream & custard (I opted for custard 🤤).

A choice of 4 well kept real ales, and pies to die for. Sunday lunch is excellent.

Traditional pub, serving great ale! Not local but popped in for pint with dog, made to feel very welcome. Even brought the dog a treat. Somewhere that makes you feel so welcome, serves Butty Bach, and I can take my dog, is definitely worth revisiting.

Super friendly & welcoming quaint local pub serving incredible food & ales at great prices. We had great communications with Jon to organise our booking & we’re warmly welcomed by him & the other staff. The food menu was superb & we could not fault anything. We stayed at the local Hilton Puckrupp Hall which offered basic meals but were so happy to find this local village authentic pub serving real hearty foods in a lovely atmosphere. Already booked to return as the menu is simply excellent as you’ll see from our pictures.

We stayed in a cottage locally and had dinner there on our first night, the meal was great, the team and locals made us feel so welcome, we went back for dinner a further 2 nights, again the food was good pub grub. We popped in for a popped in for a drink one evening too and chatted with the landlord who organised for the lady who makes the puddings to deliver a treacle tart earlier so my partner could try it before we left. When we turned up for our 3rd and final meal we were greeted with your treacle tart has arrived. My partner loved it saying it was the best he had had and even took a take away piece with him for the next day. A true English local pub, well attended, great service, food and team. We hope to be back and wished you were local to us. Thank you

Second visit to this Lovely traditional village pub, food and service was excellent . Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming. We had 2 boys with us who were allowed to use the skittle alley under supervision so the adults also enjoyed a game too..

This is a lovely traditional English Pub. Nice food. A selection of non alcoholic beers for drivers. :-). Dog friendly dog friendly. It has a skittle ally.

Great place, good food super staff

Inedible steak and undercooked chips. You’d think anyone would be capable of preparing something so basic without messing it up. Yet the so called chef of this ugly, tasteless, overpriced establishment managed it very well. The griddle where the steak was “cooked” had clearly not been cleaned for ages leaving a horrible smell and taste of burnt on the meat. Totally inedible, even my dog refused to eat it. Very disappointing as this could be a lovely pub if cleaned up and furnished with a little taste instead of looking like a depository of furniture and furnishings collected from a skip.

We received a very warm welcome. The food and beer were excellent, the landlord attentive, informative and amusing too! There was a very good atmosphere. All 4 of us enjoyed ourselves & would happily return if ever we were back in the area.

Great pub, warm reception from staff, spotlessly clean. I didn't eat there but saw many happy customers that did and they all seemed happy. Will return with my family another day. Keep up the good work Roger, it was a pleasure to meet you. With my warmest regards, Stephen James Booth

Food was just amazing. We said we had a dog so they gave us an appropriate table in a corner out of the way. Can’t fault it at all. Booking for Sunday lunch is necessary as the place is full.

Been a few Sundays now and the Sunday roast has been the best we have had for a long time, been to other eateries recently but none compare and the owners and staff are lovely.

Great food (even for a veggie like me), great beer and even better service from John, the landlord and his team. Our first visit has made sure it won't be our last.

We come to stay in Ripple in our caravan every summer on a seasonal pitch. One thing we really look forward to is having a meal at the Railway Inn. Jon and his staff are always welcoming and the beer and food is superb. This week we had Sunday lunch which was cooked to perfection and the local ale recommended by Jon was delicious. Great pub!

Fabulous from arriving to leaving, warm welcome great food ( very much home made it seems) and good drinks choice. Great area for walking by the river with malverns in the distance. 100%will go again

Friendly warm atmosphere. Brilliant home made food. Steak & Ale pie so filling & stacked with Beef. lasagna was equally amazing Great portion sizes. Treacle Tart was incredible apparently made by a lady of the village, light not stodgy, but packed with flavour Dog friendly! Outstanding. Fantastic food matched only by the choice of drinks.

Unfortunately didn’t get a good feeling for this pub. We were going to be in the area so looked up local pubs. We really liked the menu online and pricing looked great! When we got there the lovely man behind the bar didn’t seem to know a great deal about anything. We asked if they were still serving food and he had to go check. This was the case with other questions asked. The prices were NOT the same as the website. I believe the mixed grill was around £15 online but they are actually charging £23. Sandwiches are £7.90 (ish) and they weren’t very nice. I’d normally never complain about too much filling but the bread just couldn’t hold it all in so the filling just fell out of the sandwich it was all a bit soggy. I didn’t enjoy it at all. The pub itself didn’t offer any coziness, atmosphere or warmth. Unfortunately we won’t be back and I suggest that they update their website asap. To end on a good note the bar men were polite and friendly!

As a qualified chef, that learnt the trade in country pubs, just like this, it's not often I find a pub that makes all the food in-house with quality like this. Roger, John and the staff really know their onions! Delicious home-made lasagne (butcher's beef, not supermarket... And LOTS of it) All too often the bolognaise is full of tomato, not this... Full of beef! Presented beautifully. My friend had Scampi, again, beautifully presented. Great 1/2 pint of local 'Ledbury Gold' ale. Spotlessly clean throughout. Great service. Perfect country pub, in my qualified opinion. I'll be back next time i'm passing. Thanks all. D x

I really like this little village, and the railway is a lovely pub. If you like the oldie worldie feel, pop in and take a look around, if anyone upsets you, you can always put the I'm the stocks outside t St Mary's Church on the green 😂

We visited on Sunday 30th October, for Sunday lunch. We had an extremely warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly. The Sunday roast was delicious and a very generous portion. Desserts were delicious too- would highly recommend and we will return.

Last went in in the 1980's so went to have a look. Lovely pub, friendly helpful staff and fantastic fish and chips, the batter was best iv ever tasted. Many thanks we will be back when were that way again

Stopping in a big impersonal hotel locally and wanted to find somewhere nice to have an evening meal. Rang up and booked a table and have to say it was by far the best meal we had eaten out in months. Wonderful host and fabulous food. Wished we had something as good as The Railway Inn close to home. The residents in Ripple have an absolute gem in their village.

Fabulous Sunday Lunch. Plenty of it and cooked to perfection by lovely and efficient staff. We just had the Sunday roast with a choice of beef, lamb or turkey, but there is a full menu as well.

Stayed in the village of Twyning a short drive to the Railway Inn. Called there twice in the week and was made very welcome by Jon and his staff and served with first class meals.

Even though The Railway Inn was closed on Mondays I was welcomed and well fed by the team. Great company and a lovely room.

My wife & I stayed at the Furlongs Farm camping site, a ten minute walk is The Railway Inn. We had two lovely homemade main meals & sweets, good portions. The steak & kidney pie had plenty of meat & the kidney was a decent size to taste it. The young waitresses were all pleasant, polite & very professional at the table. We spoke with the landlord who is a friendly welcoming person. We will definitely call again as we often travel along the M50 & it's only a few minutes away.

We visited for lunch on 11,12,21 and as usual we received a very warm welcome, the Christmas decorations looked lovely as did the log fire....we both choose the pan fried chicken in a Stilton cream sauce with bacon served with a good selection of fresh...

After visiting the National Trust House & Garden at Croome we needed some good food, and The Railway Inn delivered. A great lamb roast dinner in a nice place with a friendly atmosphere. Good real ales too if that's your thing. I don't live that near but would be back at the drop of a hat for a god Sunday lunch.

Attended a Skittles match here with our Car Club, large pub, obviously at the heart of the Village community and busy! Good food and a great atmosphere!

We stayed here on the way home from Cornwall to break the journey. Jon and Roger are great hosts and very welcoming.. The room was large and spacious and spotlessly clean. The ensuite was large... There is a large selection of real ales and cider..also...

We aren't from the area. We were just staying for a few days and went into this pub for a meal. The food was absolutely amazing. There was 4 of us eating different meals and each meal was just beautiful and the puddings were out of this world!! We're from South Wales and would drive the distance just to eat there. To top it all off the landlord was friendly, attentive and couldn't have gone more out of his way to make the experience what it was. What a lovely guy, a lovely place and delightful food!!
