Excellent hotel and would happily come again. Friendly, helpful & efficient personnel. Room was a decent size and not cluttered, and had a newly refurbished bathroom. Best breakfast I've had in ages. And the bar has real ale, brilliant!

Popped in for a pint of beer, cheese and onion roll, and game of pool. Lovely drink and food and pleased that I won one of the games of Pool.

Popped in for lunch and pleasantly surprised. It deserves to be busier. (Maybe we call on a quiet day.)

I love this hotel. The drinks, food, staff, rooms and location are all superb. A special mention to Becky and Benjie (the dog) who made us feel most welcome from the moment we arrived. There were 13 of us (all lads) staying and we were able to use a separate room which was like someone's lounge and a great games room downstairs to watch the footy and play pool or darts. We hired bikes near by one day and hiked the next day. There are steep hills but once you're up there, there are some spectacular views.

Lovely hotel with a very unique charme. The owners as well as the staff are absolutely lovely and always friendly. Food is delicious and affordable. Rooms are clean and room service (including laundry service) is professional and reliable. Two stars don't do this place any justice. If life brings me back to Malvern someday I will definitely stay here again.

We were expecting a good experience here after seeing such positive reviews, but were surprised by just how much we ended up enjoying our stay. The manager (the owners' daughter) was great fun and the staff friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good indeed, and the bar a relaxing and welcoming place to nurse a drink or two. The hotel itself had lots of nice touches, managing to have character while still feeling bright and fresh. We will definitely stay here again whenever we return to Great Malvern.

I work in Malvern 3 days every week and wanted to spend an evening in town. Booked in to the hotel with my wife and wow what a great decision. The hotel is as charming as its owner (Jeremy) who offers stunning customer service. Our room was lovely, clean, spacious, very comfortable bed. The pub is fantastic, superb beers served by friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing, massive choice, beautifully cooked. It’s a great location with super bars and restaurants near by if you’re not here for the hills. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

We booked into the hideaway suite. Oh my goodness it's huge, 3 bedrooms, a large reception room with sofa and dining table for 6, TV. Separate toilet and a beautiful shower room with a large shower and sink. On arrival we were greeted by Helen, super friendly and helpful. The hotel is exceptionally clean in all areas. The bar is well stocked and again the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, freshly cooked, order what you require and they will accommodate your needs. Jeremy is an absolute gem, helpful, great sense of humour and a brilliant host. He went out of his way to solve some issues we had, could not fault anything. We had our evening meals in the hotel too, again great food, steak cooked to perfection. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious. If I had any gripe at all it would be the cheese board, I would have liked to have a selection of crackers and some smaller but more choice of cheese. There were 3 cheeses and were quite large portions for one. We will definitely be returning and would not hesitate to recommend it. The hideaway was excellent, like home from home but with none of the chores. Room 11 is a good double with a super bathroom with a large bath and over shower. Thank you to all the staff and especially Jeremy who made our break a delight.

We stayed for 2 nights on our first visit to the area. Our room was comfortable and clean with spectacular views from the windows. Breakfast was superb! We made good use of the bar with its lovely local ales, and we're amazed at the huge stock of malt whisky! The restaurant was good quality and value. Staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. The only potential negative might be the limited parking, although we were lucky and always found a spot without problem.

We were visiting Malvern for a family celebration and managed to get a room here for the night. We stayed in the ‘Hideaway’ and were surprised at how large it was - there were 3 separate bedrooms! The most outstanding thing about this place was the breakfast. My partner had a bacon and mushroom sandwich (not on the menu but accommodated for him) and I had a fry up and it was the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten in a hotel - the food arrived piping hot and it was a perfect sized portion. Additionally they serve a carafe of orange juice so we didn’t need to keep asking for more. I’ll certainly visit again if I’m in the area and highly recommend this place, even if just for breakfast!

Avoid like the plagueThey don’t want to help you & they clearly dont want you to eat with them, given they said they gad space & clearly avoided giving us a menu which we asked 2 members of staff for... they couldn’t care less... go to the Mount Pleasant where they are pleased to gain your custom & are treated and welcomed by warm & motivated staff!!

Myself and my friend who was visiting went here for a meal. The meal was fantastic and very reasonably priced, we both had the fish and chips. The service was brilliant, lovely bar man named Charlie looked after us wonderfully. I would recommend this place to anyone even if it was just for a pint. Lovely bar and fab atmosphere!

I came across this Hotel and Bar by accident. I was on a course locally and had forgotten to bring my lunch. So I popped in here for a bite to eat. The food came quickly and was excellent.Just over a week later I was organising an overnight trip to the Malvern Hills for a spot of walking so this place came to mind.We had a double room which looked to be freshly decorated (Room 12) It was spotlessly clean throughout and the bath was even a size that I could relax in. I am 6’1”. The towels in the bathroom wand were white soft and fluffy. The double bed very comfortable and plenty of space in a large cupboard to hang your clothes. We had booked to have an evening meal in the bar restaurant and my wife says that it was the best rib eye steak she had ever had! I had a superb casserole the plates were cleaned. On the night-time (a Saturday) a singer was doing her stuff to an appreciative and friendly crowd. This bar is open to all and it seems to be well frequented because it is the sort of bar that you would like to visit. Breakfast was very good and obviously freshly cooked and hot. The staff here are excellent and truly seem to be keen that you enjoy your food and your stay. The location is great in the town to get out and about and not too far from the lovely Malvern Hills. Great value for money. Would I stay here again? Yes I would.

We happened into the Great Malvern due to extreme poor service at another local restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised. The fellow tending tables was extremely friendly and quick to serve us. The food was fantastic - by far the best we had in Great Malvern during our week there. So much so that we went back a second time instead of trying another spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and un-intrusive like most restaurants.

If there’s one thing I have found on my (extensive) travels is that hotels are often overpriced.. but rarely, if ever, underpriced. If it’s a low price then it’s low quality, so when a late booking was essential I had to grab the available room and at an ‘attractive’ price I didn’t hold out much hope. Although the room was spacious and basically clean it had missed out on the maintenance routine, oh dear a bit tatty. Tight parking and confusing layout inside meant hunting round for check in and check out staff. Positive note that the older gentleman who did finally check me in was very helpful with local knowledge and advice. Thank you Sir!

Nice place to pop in for a drink. Service was good and the bar was full, always a good sign! Sat in side bar which lacks a bit of ambience, would benefit from more comfy seating

I (and friends) have had 3 lunches at the Hotel bar, each time was a delight. The varied daily menu and excellent seasonal specials represent great value for money! For example, in May, their asparagus special menu was pretty inventive and tasty, of the 5 of us, 4 had a different asparagus dish and we all enjoyed our respective choices. This review however is about my first visit for Sunday lunch, where I took my family, all of whom like their food and are quick to condemn as well as praise, depending on the cooking. For under £10 for the main course: 2 had lamb and 3 had the beef, we all enjoyed our meals and were offered extra gravy and vegetables had we wanted them. Meat was properly cooked with a decent gravy and the vegetables, all well cooked but still excellently crunchy. If I had a comment, the meat was not hot but was warmed by the hot gravy. I suppose it was either cool meat, well cooked or dried out meat kept under lights - I suppose the former is the better option. Our desserts were also good and considering we paid a little under £100 for 5 of us eating 2 courses, a bottle of wine and a pre-lunch drink - the restaurant cannot be faulted for value for money with great service thrown in. I will go back again and again to this place, especially as it is slap bang in the centre of town.

We eat at the GM once or twice a week. Good menu with lots of specials that change frequently. The food is excellent for the modest prices. Consistency is amazing. Lovely surroundings with a great atmosphere, helped by the ultra friendly and occasionally quirky staff. Most our friends are now regular visitors, and you don't recommend restaurants lightly.

We were staying in Upton and visited the Old Anchor pub, where we enjoyed puddings that had been made at this establishment. On leaving the pub we decided to find the shop in order to buy puddings to take home. Delicious homemade steamed puddings are available to buy from the shop or online. The puddings are all made on site using traditional methods and are big enough for 2 people to share. Currently they are £3.60 each or three for £10. We bought 3 of course and our only difficulty was choosing from the huge range available. They freeze well so no need to eat them all at once!

Nice place to meet for drinks, wide selection of craft ales. Bar appears to be too small for the demand and this results in long queue

After living in the area for years we finally visited the Den. Tea and a panini was ordered by both of use. We were warned of a wait, but it didn't take too long. Good quality ingredients and tasty. Well worth a visit
