Fantastic Sunday Roast , in fact I can honestly say , best I’ve had . I had the roast beef , amazing , the veg was so flavoursome, roast potatoes crispy outside fluffy inside , don’t even get me started on the Yorkshire pudding ,size of a smart car 😳, great portions , I had the pigs in blankets as a side, probably got a packet of sausages to myself , not complaining 😀, honestly just great to go somewhere where staff are lovely , the food is exceptional and value for money not very often you can say that these days , absolute hidden Gem , 👍

A 25 minute wait for two sharing plates and the food was barely warm. Didn't complain as we had already waited long enough. Mentioned it when leaving and got a 'sorry'. Hot food is meant to be served hot, not luke warm, especially chicken. Disappointing as we'd like to support this local business but although it was edible it wasn't enjoyable. Not recommended for food.

Sunday lunchtime the music was very loud and heavy rock music not the right selection. The room was very hot even with the door open. The food was very generous portions but with sweet potato purée, red cabbage and excessive gravy it was all very “ mushy”.

The £15 prosecco on Friday evenings is great, and we love the garden. But the loud heavy rock music is so bad we are not sure we will continue to come. We did ask for something more generic with a Friday night vibe, but they just turned it down a bit, it was still the same awful music. Such a shame as we have been coming after work on Fridays for ages.

A good vibe pub with consistent roasts every Sunday. Last time I had the pork belly and crackling it had a decent amount of good quality food, including a massive Yorkshire pudding and red cabbage. I arrived at 6pm and they hadn’t run out! (Another big bonus). The beer on draught is always good and the ales change frequently. They have an above average selection of wine also, including a white vino verde which I love! The staff are always friendly and amenable, plus there are offers running throughout the week for 2 for 1 deals on food. In my opinion, this pub is much better than a lot of central Brighton pubs which can possibly be pretentious and a bit w@nky 😆

This large mock Tudor facade pub is unmissable if you step out of Portslade station and turn towards Boundary Road. The Railway Inn, Portslade was built in 1860, by local brewers Vallance & Catt, about 20 years after the Portslade station itself. Stepping inside a well-stocked bar with a friendly & welcoming staff... Davina & Co. Chic decor & chilled atmosphere. As you head deeper into the pub, behind the central staircase there’s a raised seating area offering more low seating and padded bench sets. Beyond that room is the garden set up with lots of individual tables and chairs, which is cheerful and bright. As well as the typical major brands: Guinness, Birra Moretti, and some more. Huge variety of both cask and keg beers, wines & spirits. Weekly pub quizzes, monthly art classes and live acoustic music once a month, & seasonal events are happening throughout the year. The Menu at The Railway Inn is ‘Street Fusion’, inspired. Fried chicken, nachos, tacos, loaded fries, burgers, and then a load of oriental Asian cuisine such as bao, bento, gyoza and noodles... Plus a children's menu too. The Ice Cream outlet is built into the bar stocked by Hove Gelato, which has as much ice cream on offer as you’d expect to find at your local Gelataria. Dog-friendly 🐕 I would highly recommend & will be returning soon.

Only two people behind the bar, the other a chap with a black & white shirt. He was very friendly with the people he was serving and spent a long time just chatting (having fulfilled their order) then he picked up a bottle & took it to the other end of the bar? I gesticulated & he came to me (a 69 year old female) I said: I thought I was invisible there? He said: no you weren't but DON'T annoy me. At which point I walked out. Superbly disappointing and expensive lunch here back in June this year. Paid for a large seafood platter for my family close to £30 plus sides and drinks and what came out was a joke for the price. I did question the tiny fried fish portion and one server thought it was a kids portion. I was then told some long winded excuse that basically it is what it is. Very disappointing, no one took responsibility because they just didn't really care because i guess they have the footfall. Will NEVER return and wish I took pictures of the utterly disappointing food and service. To top it off you could see all the other diners get a proper fish portion for much less. There are too many other good fish restaurants in Brighton to ever be robbed like that again.

I've ordered a chai latte at a Gail's in London before and enjoyed it, decided to try again (though I'm a flat white drinker normally) one cold evening as a take away beverage to warm me up whilst exploring Hove. The first that was served to me was not even luke warm, the batista was lovely and immediately remade the chai latte but the second made me sick at the insane amount of sugar. I'm guessing it's a premade chai drink they decant into their machine before heating and frothing their own milk. I literally felt like i got got sugar poisoning for a full 24hours afterwards, i got severe dehydration due to their chai latte. Please, Gail's ensure you warn customers about high suger levels in your drinks, especially if it's a premade/bought in product. This was excessively high levels of sugar which can be toxic to the body!!

It was my fisrt time in Brighton and I found this place by chance. It was really late and I was starving so I went inside without even noticing it. The interns were really nice, colourful and cosy, there were tables with chirs all of differernt styles and some armachirs where you can seat and take your time with a nice cup of tea or coffee. The atmosphere was really relaxing and I enjoyed my stay there. I went to the counter to order my food. I took a look at the menu and I've decided to try the red lentils and vegetable curry with rice and naan. It was really tasty! Fter lunch I've tooka flat white and a piece of brownie. I was really difficult to resist the temptation of trying on! They have really nice cakes and all of them look super tasty!
