Omg... Just bloody delicious!! Lovely staff and met the chef who was a great guy. The food is insanely delicious. Couldn't recommend more...

Could not fault the railway, great food and some different things too. Very friendly, helpful staff. Car park at back and garden, with vegs used in house. A special thank you to the lovely young lady who gave us directions so as not to walk on the main road. Good selection of local beer too. Thanks for our lovely evenings.

Wow - what a great meal. Everything was the best it could have been, the food was amazing, the staff were excellent, the location was lovely and the price was a bargain. Never had a better Sunday roast than this.

We have visited this pub many times since we moved to the lovely village of North Elmham near East Dereham . The great value food has always been beautifully prepared and served. Although there is not a wide range the draft real ale is always at it's best. The hosts, chef and staff are always very attentive and nothing is to much trouble to ensure a great experience.

We've visited the Railway Arms twice now and on both occasions we were made very welcome. The pub is bright, clean and comfortable and there is a great choice on the menu, reasonably priced too. Importantly for us, our large dogs are warmly greeted by the hosts and their lovely little Westie (there is a dog-free seating area too). A lovely pub in a beautiful location. Will be back again soon.

YES Lunches are wonderful also for an evening with friends and or a great meal for business clients if you want to impress.

We booked for eight people (five adults and three children) on a Wednesday evening. Were asked to preorder because of the size of the party but this was not a problem and indeed made the evening itself run more smoothly. The children were catered for very well and the waitress was very attentive to their needs. Overall, the food was very good. No two people had the same meal and all were very happy with their meals. Wine, though only limited in choice, was very reasonably priced and the New Zealand sauvignon blanc was excellent. To sum up, we had a great family meal and an enjoyable evening.

Food was fantastic. My mum enjoyed fresh Cromer crab, and I had a lovely homemade fish pie, followed by an amazing key lime pie. Very dog friendly as well 😃 Haven’t been before but will definitely be going again.

Very friendly pub with lovely welcoming locals, great food with a reliable long serving chef. Parking front and rear, good idea to book. Patio and garden area at back. Well worth a visit if you are passing . Not far from the old atmosphere of the currently closed Mid Norfolk Railway station.

We went yesterday and had roast pork with lots of fresh vegetable. The portions sizes were very generous and quality was excellent, very tasty and wholesome. All staff were very helpful and attentive the chef came round all the tables to ask how the meal was and this is a old habit that I’m afraid had disappeared, so hats off to the chef, don’t know his name sorry 🫣 This is our first visit and live local ‘ish, gressenhall Only two down sides, which will be hard to rectify the numbers flies in Resturant and no cover from the strong sun onto our table. Great food and there's always a couple of decent real ales on. Real ale prices are very reasonable too.

A friendly welcome and real effort to fit us in having turned up unbooked for Sunday lunch. The lunch choice and quality was superb, unbeatable and it was gratifying to see the chef doing the rounds. The beer and wine was excellent and the service impeccable. I had visited the inn of old but it has been some years since: I always liked it but golly gosh has it gone up in the world, a better offering but still a good pub.

We had a great meal all 21 of us,, no complaints from anyone, so that says a lot ,, Great food good price ,, very happy group

We have been to this pub on several occasions. The food is fabulous and excellent value for money. The chef deserves a pay rise.

The Railway Arms always delivers on so many counts, without fault. Wonderful hard working and attentive staff who really do go out of their way to please. And the food, what can I say; fantastic Sunday roast, so delicious, generous size portions and so flavoursome! A true credit to John the chef and the front of house staff. This really is one of Norfolk’s hidden gem’s. If you want the best roast in Norfolk, this is it!

Without a shadow of a doubt, hands down…the best roast dinner in the area. Very relaxed atmosphere, john the head chef takes the time to have a walk around to say hi and ask if all is ok with your meal, outstanding and friendly service from Cliff, Anne and the waitresses.

Drunken landlord who makes inappropriate comments to women and has no tolerance for our dogs barking once at another dog who was wining and asked us to leave we will never ever go back

This is a great place to go for Sunday lunch, food cooked to perfection with loads of lovely accompaniment veg. Even an extra jug of gravy… perfect. Excellent service by all the team.

Superb Sunday lunch two weeks ago. The bar was very busy, a good sign, and the dining room was well set out, plenty of leg room for our tall son! It was the best Sunday lunch we had since moving to Norfolk. A real find. The portions are very generous and plenty of fresh vegetables. The chef came to all the tables to ask if we had enjoyed our lunch. A really nice touch. We will be back. The staff were lovely and we would like to thank them for all their hard work on a busy Sunday lunchtime.

We went here for a sunday lunch, and it was delicious. There were plenty of vegetables and meat, all of which tasted incredible. This was one of the best sunday lunches I've had in a long while. The waitresses were also very accommodating and ensured that we had everything we needed. The only thing preventing a 5-star review for this lovely place was the lack of vegan/ vegetarian options. I can't speak for other days of the week, but on the sunday menu there was only one non-meat option, so the vegetarian member of our party was limited in choice of food. Other than this, it was a fantastic and delicious meal.

Went for a very enjoyable lunch with a friend, mid week lunchtime. Service was good, not pushy and friendly. Food was excellent. I had a sword fish steak with new pots and veg. Extremely tasty and filling, price was good and I’d recommend the Railway Arms 👍

We regularly go to this pub for our Sunday lunch and we are never disappointed. The food is hot and delicious especially the roast beef! It comes with plenty of veggies including cauliflower cheese. All of it tastes superb and there is plenty of it! The roast potatoes are lovely. We always leave very full. We would also like to say how lovely the waitress staff are. Always smiling and cheerful and very efficient. It's getting harder and harder to book it's that good! So reluctantly we are giving this review, afraid of losing our regular lunch! Sharon

Great meal at reasonable prices, friendly staff. One thing that irked us that they charged 50p for milk for a cup of tea, surely milk goes with a cup of tea unless you request otherwise, it would make sense if they just charged £2 for a cup of tea with milk instead of £1.50 + 50p for the milk!

This was the first time we had visited The Railway Arms for a meal and I have to say it exceeded my expectations on several counts. The dining room itself was lovely, full of natural light and very comfortable. Our meals were exceptional. I had the roast beef which was perfectly cooked medium-rare as I like it and very tasty. The portion size was generous too and was very good value for money. Finally I have to add that the young waitresses were a credit to the owners. They were knowledgeable, attentive, respectful and very well presented. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Really is one of the best in the area

Excellent service and great food at very affordable prices, whether you want a "big lunch" or just a lighter snack. Very varied menu from salads and baguettes at around£8-£10, to a full 3-course lunch for around £24. Large portions though so beware of ordering hungry! Good coffee too.

Have been recommended this restaurant by friends. It did not let us down, great menu with outstanding food. Think it will be our favourite place to eat from now on. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu

Discovered this pub and restaurant on our may home Norfolk. It was a beautiful sunny day and the pub was a gorgeous setting for a stop and to have a lunch ..... which was excellent.
