Had lunch there with my fiance and baby. Fire was going so it was cosy and homely. The blonde lady behind the bar was lovely and very relaxed. Food was absolutely lovely and worth the pennies. Will definitely be back.

This place is a very special place to my partner. He stayed in this hotel for about 6 months at the start of his career about 8 years ago, whilst he stayed they were so kind, attentive and generous. It left a mark with him about how well he was looked after during such a hard time in his life. Obviously they were not aware of this but still the level of service and quality of food has stuck with him all these years. Yesterday we revisited as a trip down memory lane. We only stayed for dinner but I was just so blown away by the quality of the food and the warm energy of the staff. There was a lovely community energy going on there. Families and friends enjoying their evening. But the food was just out of this world. The quality and freshness was just incredible, the steak was cooked to perfection, the chef put gaucho, hawkmoor and miller and carter to shame with how well the steak was cooked. We had 4 drinks, 2 starters 2 mains and 2 deserts for a £100. But the quality and value for money is just unmatched in comparison to anywhere else I’ve been. I thought I’d upload some pictures because there isn’t many on google and this is a place that everyone should go and experience. We had a great night and I’ve woken up this morning wanting to go back today in hopes they do a roast, as I know it will be stunning. We will be back soon and a massive thank you to all the staff last night xx

Stayed in this hotel many many times. Multi rooms some above the Old Inn, some in various annexes and a couple cottages. Rooms are always clean and warm. You won't get a better fried breakfast, with cereal yoghurt fruit if required. The evening meals, starters, main and puddings are always superb, many come with bowls of fresh veg and the portion sizes are big! Staff are always polite, friendly and attentive. To round it all off the rooms are very competitively priced with plenty of parking.

The crown hotel is situated in a beautiful little village, the staff are friendly and there's a good selection of beers etc, the food served here is excellent at all levels, however I have only given four stars due to the fact that our meal was served over 40 minutes late due to a miscommunication between the front and the back, but failing that which I'm quite sure is an isolated issue, I would recommend thus place gor a meal or just a drink . Well worth a visit, I shall be looking forward to returning.

This was our third visit to The Crown the room we had this time was not so grand. The bed 🛌 was awful 😖 and with three slipped discs in my lumber region I was in dire straits I had to sleep with a pillow to support my back. There was no matress protectors on the bed, took the duvet off the single bed next to the double and put it under the sheet. In hotels this day and age you don't expect mold in the shower, we just had a stand up wash down, which was not convenient. There were no shelves in the bathroom to put anything at all. The staff at breakfast are really lovely we have seen the chef on previous occasions he is very accommodating. Sadly we have made a decision that we will not be returning to the Crown.

What a great little find this was, our whole experience was fantastic, the staff were brilliant, breakfast was amazing and the room was more than adequate for our needs. The bonus of a mini bus to and from Thetford Forest was also a bonus. I will certainly be back next time I go to an event and I will highly recommend to anyone

So we only went here for dinner and to size the place up for potential future stays, we were already staying locally. I checked by email if our dog was allowed. The reply was almost immediate yes we could and when did we want to book. On that basis without hesitation I booked us in for the next day. Parking was plentiful, the greeting was lovely on arrival and we were shown to our table, ordering was at the bar. Chloe behind the bar was so helpful and a very attentive young man brought the food and took away the empties. We felt more than welcome with Rex who was offered a bowl of water. The food was lovely the portions enormous. There was a genuinely good vegetarian option, I had the pea and mint soup and cashew stroganoff they were very generous with the cashews. One of our party had the chilli con carne which came dressed as a crown. The place was clean and a real old pub with a good mix of relaxed locals and visitors. Mundford and surrounds is gorgeous. One thing to note is there was an older gentleman who was maybe the owner he looked very unhappy. Don't let that put you off as we never spoke but I hope he is ok, I know it's tough times and having worked in the service industry it's hard graft, I just hope whatever is troubling him resolves itself. NB room rating is for the restaurant not the hotel.

Really nice hotel set in a lovely village, not one you'd find unless you tried but so glad I made the effort. Super beer garden, esp on a sunny afternoon. I have a single room, which is an entirely appropriate description. It is absolutely fine, just don't bring a cat! 😀

What a terrible experience! I travel alot for work and for £80 a night I expect alot better. Room was tiny, could barely swing a cat in there, shower was a dribble and wouldn't stay a consistent temperature, scalding water to freezing water. Bedding was poor quality. No curtain on the window. The 2 male staff I dealt with were completely unaccomodating. Barmaids were lovely though. Rang up the day after I left as I had left a childhood Teddy in the room only to be told it wasn't there. I explained it had to be there as there was no other place it could be, I literally packed my suitcase put the suitcase in the car and drove home. I last had it in that room. Gentleman on the phone said I don't know what to tell you. No apology and completely inconsiderate. A dog was left in the one of the rooms which barked the entire time. Overall a terrible stay, I will not be returning.

Great stop over, great food, good selection on the bar. The staff were friendly and the local drinkers welcoming. The warm fire made for a lovely pub going experiance. Parking isn't as bad as you think if your staying over as there is extra space around the back. Breakfast was good with a nice selection to choose from. For the price, it's a great value place to stay. Can't find fault with it at all.

A lovely hotel connected to the pub. The hotel as adjacent to the pub with its own entrance. The room I had was a family suite with two bedrooms, a main bathroom and an additional toilet. A very generous sized room with a sofa, writing desk and a slay bed. Very clean and airy, the only one thin missing is a mirror in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there was even a fridge un the room. The pub itself had two bars down stairs and a restaurant upstairs. The smaller bar has a huge collection of good whisky, open fire and is good to sit and eat. The food was reasonably priced and my chicken Korma was tasty. Breakfast is an offering of cereals or a full English. For the price I paid, it is good value for money, in a lovely location and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

We stayed here two years ago on a birthday break for my wife and really enjoyed our stay. This time, it was for a coffee en route to N. Norfolk, where we stopped for lunchtime coffee and sandwiches. Lovely and warm next yo log fire on a cold New Year's Eve along with good coffee and tasty sandwiches. Reasonably priced.

Stayed for 2 night B&B. Also had dinner on both nights. The room (in a cottage next to Hotel) was spotlessly clean, lovely tea-tray, comfy bed and large fluffy towels. Very quiet and although there were stairs to access the room, it was well worth it! The restaurant was peaceful, staff helpful and kind and the food well cooked and served. Breakfast was generous and cooked to order. Faultless in every way. Parking was easy as there is a proper carpark at the back. We WILL return without hesitation.

Delightful traditional cafe next to Dereham Windmill. Tea served in a Tea pot with cosy, proper China cup and saucer and a delicious home made Chocolate cake. Highly recommended.

A very popular pub for lunch. It was very crowded. Bookings are recommended. We arrived for a Sunday pub lunch without a booking and there were only two tables left. The Sunday roast pork was a very large and tasty dish served with all the trimmings, including a lot of crackling and a tasty homemade Yorkshire pudding. Service was good. Although the staff kept apologising that the food would take 20 minutes to arrive as it was very busy, it arrived in a much shorter time.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Village Café after its stunning refit, and I can't praise it enough! The fresh, modern country decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food is absolutely delicious! Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast or a light lunch, there's something for everyone on the menu. The café also features a delightful shop with a selection of local goods and unique finds, making it a perfect spot to pick up a little something special. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring a wonderful experience for every guest. With great prices that won’t break the bank, the Village Café is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. It’s definitely deserving of a five-star rating!

Limited menu have visited a couple of times, and the menu doesn't seem to change. Had the steak and ale pie every occasion as you really can't go wrong with it.
