Booked the upstairs function room for a private party. Great staff, really helpful. Food was amazing. Own bar, barman and even our own toilet. We linked to their speakers and played our own music. We were also able to decorate the room beforehand. Great location too. Thank you

Visited in December and sat outside under the heaters - bouncers were really attentive and staff are friendly.

For someone that doesn't live in Clapham, I seem to spend all of my time in the area, and this is one of the reasons why. It's always a great time with great staff and music. Bouncers are always great as well.

An absolute dream to organise the Christmas do with. We had a large party of 23 for a sit down meal and they gave us the upstairs room to ourselves. Really friendly staff and great food. I also had my 30th here and would give exactly the same review. We were asked to commit to a minimum spend to have the room for the night which was very reasonable for the size of room and for the evening (60 person max capacity). They have a private bar and toilet upstairs for the room, and also offered a DJ for an extra sum, again really good. Would recommend!

Had an absolutely wonderful evening at the Railway. Hired out the private function room at the top of the venue for a Christmas party. Mat and the team were very attentive and delivered a fantastic evening of food and entertainment. The venue had the capability to play your own music as well and we were able to decorate as we pleased. Would recommend as a cosy private function hire for any party!

Lovely food, drinks and atmosphere celebrating a family birthday. Staff very professional and friendly.

Two of us for lunch today. One very dry and overcooked beef burger. One very dry and overcooked chicken burger. Dry and uninspiring chips. Very boring and dry slaw. All for a ridiculous £39 including glass of white wine and glass of cider. Would have been more painful without a £10 promotional voucher on food. Will not be returning.

Football and beers are coming home, best pub to watch the football in Clapham (especially if England win)

What a busy Sunday! A group of us visited for some food and drinks on a bank holiday weekend, we was delighted to have got a table. The food looked amazing so we just had to try it for ourself, next time I’m definitely trying the roast! The team were really professional and didn’t mind me asking questions, very quick service and a great atmosphere we will be back!

Really enjoyed the service and atmosphere but completely let down by the food. Chicken was soggy and tasted like it had gone off or was frozen and thawed and cooked really badly. Chips were so disappointing, triple cooked chips my arse! Tasted like the ones you get from a cheap greasy spoon. This place is pretending to serve fancy food but it’s worse than school dinner! The only nice food was the peas. Had to leave pretty much everything else as was so so disgusting. Complete and utter shame as the staff were lovely and attentive. Sorry! :(

Called in a couple of times for an early evening drink and more recently for pint and lunch. Whilst the pub describes itself as 'Urban Cool' which I am definitely not, we were made welcome, the beer was good, and we had burgers which were excellent. Well recommended if you are on the High Street

What a turn around! I visited The Railway a few years ago when passing by with friends and had a very unpleasant time, very rude door staff, bar staff who struggled to smile and sub-average food. Since then I must assume there has been a change of management as all of the faults have been fixed. I now choose to come here regularly, great vibe, never too busy (when it is the bar staff handle it well) and my gosh the food is super! I took up cycling 3 years ago and made the jump into being vegan as well (in for a penny), the nut roast here is to die for, keeps me fuelled- as well as the great selection of beer of course ;) If that isn't enough, they have a great open mic night as well as old school N64 and classic arcade game (Tuesdays). I mean come on... beers, goldeneye and top notch vegan nibbles, I AM SOLD.

Great Christmas menu. Food very good, staff very attentive. The Christmas menu had options for all tastes and the dishes were well cooked and good portion size. Great selection of craft beers.

We had our Christmas party here last week and it was so brilliant venue. The food was fantastic and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Really really brilliant and Vice does everything he can to make it the best day it can be. We've already pre booked for next year!

I would highly recommend The Railway for any sort of event/Christmas meal - the food was amazing, the staff were really friendly and so accommodating - couldn't fault them, all-round 10/10! Thanks to the team for a great evening!

Yesterday we had the most amazing three course Christmas dinner at The Railway. The staff were a lot of fun. Very accommodating of large groups. The food was delicious (particularly the gravy).Highly recommend the upstairs room for groups larger than 30.10 across the board x

I visited the bar for a potential venue for my birthday and it was a winner. The space upstairs was perfect. Vince handled my booking from the start and made sure he looked after us for the evening. All my questions were answered and requests were all seen to. I felt totally looked after and on a special occasion, well I felt special so thank you Vince and your team you truly delivered. There was no hire charge but a very reasonable minimum spend for the night easily achievable. My dad couldn’t make it as he was unwell and I requested a whiskey for him which Vince supplied, clearly a little upset he couldn’t come he organised a little gift for my dad to give to him. So kind. Pub realmente encantador! Tuve el asado vegetariano, que fue sinceramente uno de los mejores que he probado y tiene un precio increíblemente razonable. Publicaría una foto con mi reseña, pero por el hecho de que me metí demasiado rápido para pensar en tomar una. El personal era muy amable y sin duda volveremos! ! Encantado de haber encontrado el ferrocarril!

Este es mi pub local. He estado visitando semanalmente durante 3 meses. Buena atmósfera. Una bonita trampa de sol afuera en los bancos en el verano.Visita principalmente por la cerveza. Hay una gran selección de barril. La comida también tiene una buena relación calidad-precio.Recomiendo los asados o las hamburguesas con brócoli.Perdí mi billetera en la calle y fue encontrada por el personal del ferrocarril. Me lo devolvieron contactándome a través de Facebook. El dinero todavía estaba en él y el personal fue de gran ayuda.

Tuvimos un grupo reservando arriba en The Railway para algunos amigos, niños pequeños y bebés. Matt y The no podrían haber sido más útiles de antemano y en el día asegurándose de que teníamos todo lo que necesitábamos. ¡Un buen menú y una excelente ubicación en Clapham High Street también!

Our new favourite local. Good selection of fins and as well simple but delicious snacks do dine on. Outside area is really nice.

We came here, after we were let down by another pub in the area. [We were 5 hungry people looking for Sunday lunch]. And were served very quickly. We each had a different roast, I had chicken. The food was delicious, and there's a very nice range of drinks. The staff were very warm and helpful. We dropped in last weekend after dinner at Tsunami, and again staff made an effort to remember us and sort out our service quickly. Thank You ever so much!!

Nice pub spacious with a good selection of beers. We love their fries. They have a spacious room upstairs that can be book for private events.

Visited here on Sunday 3rd March,for Sunday Roast/Drinks.We were a very large group of circa 20 from City Socializer and the pub,handled such a large group,expertly.

2nd year I have choose to celebrate my bday in the upstairs area. The staff was really helpful with the request which made the evening extra good. They really know how to make you feel welcome.

We booked our staff Christmas party here and we all had a brilliant time in the private room upstairs. There is really nothing negative to say. The food brilliant, the staff fantastic and the prices very reasonable.

A fabulous time was had by all, we had approximately 35 guests and ample room to throw some shapes! The Christmas Buffet menu was absolutely amazing, well presented, served exactly at time requested, absolutely nothing negative to say.

We had an awesome night here with work for our Christmas night out. There was only 24 of us and they reserved the whole of upstairs for us which was a really big space, we got our own bar and own dance floor. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, they even put on a special three course meal for someone who was vegan and gluten free and she loved it. Everyone is now raving about the place and we will definitely book again for next year. Mat and his team were so easy to coordinate with to help organise it, thanks so much!

Pasé toda una semana aquí dirigiendo un taller de teatro. El personal no pudo hacer lo suficiente para hacernos sentir bienvenidos y asegurarnos de que tuviéramos todo lo que necesitamos. Teníamos comida todos los días y el chef hacía lo imposible para satisfacer todas nuestras peticiones y ofrecía una fantástica variedad cada día. Después de cada día nos relajamos en el encantador pub con una cerveza. Gran lugar todo el año.

Estuve en este pub con mi esposo en agosto, tuve una excelente comida, y por lo tanto me pareció un lugar ideal para una reunión familiar el fin de semana pasado, ya que teníamos personas que venían de varias direcciones y los enlaces de transporte son excelentes. Reservamos una mesa y tuvimos un excelente servicio y una cena realmente encantadora de roast beef. Uno de nuestro grupo es vegano, ella realmente disfrutó su comida también. El servicio fue eficiente y amable y recomendaría encarecidamente este pub para un almuerzo relajado de domingo.

Nunca antes me habían hablado de una manera tan vergonzosa en ningún pub de Clapham. Después de una cena, unas cuantas puertas más abajo, entramos en el pub para ser recibidos en el bar por una de las personas más rudas con las que me he encontrado. Se acercó a nosotros para tomar una orden, que luego ignoró para decir que estaba sirviendo a otra persona. Continuó acercándose a nosotros tres veces antes de completar nuestro pedido, comentando cada vez que no era nuestro turno. Estaba muy perplejo de que se nos acercara tantas veces para servirnos solo para decir que no podía procesarlo. Además, su tono era increíblemente insultante ya que ponía los ojos en blanco y hacía comentarios sarcásticos. No vaya a este pub si quiere ser recibido por un personal amable. ¡No los encontrarás aquí!

En este barrio un poco alejado del centro está este pub donde hacen buenas hamburguesas. No es barato, pero son los precios de esta ciudad. Muy buena atención.

We booked the upstairs for a party and had a fantastic time. The space was perfect and Mat and his team took great care of us to ensure we always had everything we needed throughout the afternoon. We had our own bar and toilet, and could play our own music over the speakers. The food and drinks were great and the friendly staff really made us feel welcome. Thanks so much for helping to make our day so special!!

My husband and I popped in on Saturday afternoon for a couple of drinks and a snack. The atmosphere was great - there are tables outside but we chose to sit inside where it was cooler! The place is spotlessly clean - I found out while I was there that a new manager took over quite recently and has made a real difference to the service and presentation of the pub. There really seem to care about their customers. Our food arrived promptly and was very good - home made cod goujons, home made scotch egg and sausage roll. At 3 fr £11 it's not bad value either! Apparently they have a function room upstairs - which would be great to book for a party if we lived a bit nearer.

El local se divide en dos espacios, uno cafetería y más tranquilo, y otro pub-restaurante donde puedes tomarte una cerveza o una buena sidra con música. Algo destacable: tienen unos postres increibles.

The smell of pee in the toilet area was so strong that it was impossible to eat somenthing in the table next to that. We moved to another place.

Me and my friend went here for a Sunday roast after a heavy night. We arrived around 2ish, and the Rugby was on. Not a massive fan of the rugby but guys in tight shorts, whats not to like! We asked a couple to join there table with no hesitation.

Extremely disappointed with my experience here. It didn't start off well and didn't get better. I first ordered a black coffee and was given a white coffee, none of the on display draft beers were available and I ordered a glass of wine which was undrinkable.

Definitely my favourite pub in Clapham. The manager is a lovely chap along with the rest of the staff. Food was sensational and also a great selection of beers.

It's been my local for the last 10 years ... apologies for not reviewing earlier. Great boozer always offering a decent selection of well-kept (sounds like the missus) ales. Withnail would most definitely approve!

Popped in this weekend and had a pint of Amstel it was lovely. Will be returning soon. Staff seemed polite and friendly. Nice place.

Esta es una verdadera joya de un pub. Buena selección de ALE, excelente selección de cervezas y vinos otros decente. Comida de pub sólido con una pizca de sabor gourmet. Mejor tarta pot de pollo que he tenido en un restaurante! Recuerde, es un pub no un lujoso lugar. Ve y disfruta

This is my local pub- love to go there for the great atmosphere as it's always buzzing. Food used to be great but has gone massively down hill in the last year or so which is very disappointing. Great place but avoid the overpriced food!

This is my local and I really wish it was better. The food obviously comes from a pub supplies catering company and then gets reheated in a microwave.

La comida era bastante buena, la lista de vinos es un poco aburrida como es la estrecha variedad de cervezas. No estuvo mal, aunque, creo que es administrado por la misma empresa como la esperanza en Wandsworth common. Un poco mejor esfuerzo aquí.

La comida era estupenda, el camarero era muy amable y los precios son razonables. Te sugiero que probar el pescado y las patatas fritas ... delicioso!

Il nous a fallu un peu de recul et de patience pour pouvoir déjeuner dans ce pub. Pour commander le menu...dur, dur! L'ordinateur n'avait pas les même prix que sur la carte et les serveurs étaient très ennuyés même crispés. On a donc fait simple en prenant des fish & chips...et là un vrai régal.Des frites maison, coupées gros, cuites à merveille. Un poisson juteux croustillant et goûteux. Pour finir un petit dessert bien bon, le tout avec une 1/2 pint pour 12£. Super rapport qualité prix.Nous quittons le pub le ventre bien plein, et avec des serveurs souriants et qui nous disent trois mots de français. Sympa!

With a small group of friends on Sunday evening. Much of what was on the menu was unavailable, se we went with burgers. We were told that we could not choose how they were done. When they arrived they were charcoal on the outside, and tasteless. We ate them because we were starving. Even with the 2 for 1 offer this was not worth the money.On the plus side the wine and beer was excellent. The bar staff were very good too.

Good food. Watched the rugby and had a great vibe. Good also good and value for money. Upstairs seating was chilled and good atmosphere. The door staff also particularly friendly. Will be back!

I really like this pub. The staff are some of the nicest people, chatty and seem to love their job. Drinks are a tad pricy but a lovely feel and outdoor seating

If you just want a few drinks with friends this place is perfect for you. Simple, uncomplicated and nice staff. If I was you I'd sit outside on the benches.

Went for a birthday drink with my partner-good prices and selections of beers, wines and ciders, however they were out of the flavoured ciders and had to make do with an ordinary one, plenty tables inside, four outside, the atmosphere was ok, but pretty boring and the lighting (dim candleight style0 made me feel tired. Ive been to bars where its been quieter the level of noise coming from people talking/shouting made it uncomfortable to talk to one another and we all had to shout over each other considering there was low level background music playing this was very annoying, the toilets were awful-one small broken female toilet for the whole pub-i wont be coming back here.

The Sunday dinners here are the best iv experienced since living in London 3 years. They are good value for money and are always fresh. Even the Yorkshire puddings are suitable for a northerner like meI always accommodate my main with a side if creamy leaks, they are great.Only down fall of this place is I feel sometimes they take too many orders without the staff in the kitchen to accommodate.On one occasion there was a wait for an hour and people we not informed till they went up and asked where their meal wasThe atmosphere is relaxed and a nice crowd

Basically picked this place as it was the closest restaurant on offer from our apartment and, to be fair, because it looks pretty inviting once you poke your head in.Got a seat instantly, although it was pretty full otherwise, and had our meals brought out in good time once we'd ordered. Service at the bar and at the table was friendly and prompt throughout, although we were in there quite early (around 6pm) so it may have been a bit more stressful for them later in the evening. Mix of classic pub fare and some more adventurous options, but both my wife and I were very satisfied with our meals. There's a range of boutique bottled beers on offer which made for an interesting couple of rounds. All in all, very happy with our meals, and good value as well.
