Food portions are big. Mulles Marines were delicious. A bit expensive and the food served too late.

I love the railway for a Sunday roast it’s always the best food. My most recent visit was a bit disappointing as we ordered a nut roast sharing platter (which I’ve done before) it was £60 so £30 per plate. We had a slice of nut-roast and a bit each, Yorkshire pudding each, a dish of vegetables to share and 6 small potatoes which before cut equates to a potato and a half. In hindsight we should have just ordered two separate plates at £20 rather than a sharer at an extra £20, on this occasion it’s wasn’t good value for money.

Excellent meal today at the Railway. Terrific roasts all round, attentive, friendly staff who loved our dog Stan and constantly fed him treats! A lovely gesture for mums today, I came away with a £25 voucher for my next visit, most certainly will be back, thank you Team Railway, The Smiths

The Railway is always a nice place for me to catch up on work after a long day, which I did today (6/3/24), however when I came in this evening there appeared to be a wait before myself and another gentleman were served - was about 20:47 this evening - after some 5 minutes we were served. Later in the evening, as staff were upstairs closing the upper levels a gentleman walked in (wearing a white lakers cap) and helped himself to a loads of dog treats before exiting the pub. It is still a lovely local haunt for me, but staff at times appear disinterested in their roles and it’s appears to be rushed as closing time approaches - that last orders call which we all dread, seems too alter some nights.

We had such a lovely dinner here, nice atmosphere and good service. The menu has interesting variations on gastro pub classics plus great sharing plates and daily specials. Generous portions and great quality.

Just back from Sunday lunch. What an experience from being seated to being served and obvious the food. 10 out of 10 plus. It’s been along time since I’ve been somewhere where the beautiful food matched the top service. A lovely man named Richard seated us explained the menu and went beyond. I shall be back. Exquisite food and service well done 👏🏽 .

Have been here five or six times now for. a rugby lunch, have never been disappointed. Always good food wine beer and service, and always a good atmosphere. Just hope they don't get overbusy.

We visited for Sunday lunch today, having searched online for the best local roast (we are not local, just visiting) and the reviews were not wrong. Genuinely the best roast we have ever had. We had the vegan sharing roast, my daughter and I both have dairy and egg allergies and the staff could not have been more attentive with it. The food was absolutely amazing, not a soggy vegetable or chewy potato in sight!! Every member of staff we spoke to was happy, friendly and polite despite the fact you could clearly see they were rushed off their feet. The restaurant was packed at all times. You definitely won't get in without a booking but it is 100% worth booking for. We would probably travel from Southampton just to come back for a roast here again

Pub directly by Teddington Station. Serves some lovely beer (eg Harvey's Best). Food is excellent - the place has great theme nights several days each week. Atmosphere is a bit 'gastro' rather than tradional pub. There are small outdoor areas to sit and a first floor dining room.

Third time me and the family have been for the Sunday roast. Faultless the meat is cooked perfectly the sides are on point cannot fault the food or the service possibly the best roast dinner in Surrey

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday party at The Railway Teddington. 5 stars all the way. The venue room is very attractive with a high ceiling giving a sense of space. There were two other events on the same day and yet the service, food, and atmosphere felt perfect under Richard's professional care. The staff were very efficient and yet friendly and personable. Philip provided splendid and unobtrusive drinks service to the party throughout. I would confidently recommend anyone to hold their event at The Railway under Richard's expert management. Many thanks to all the team!

A pretty pub by Teddington train station. Cute outdoor seating and lots of seating inside, this pub is bright, airy and always a lovely one to pop into

We had a Sunday lunch here over the festive period and were really impressed. Our party had beef, chicken and pork and they were all utterly delicious. We got a warm welcome throughout; from the bar staff, waiting staff and front of house. We will return!

The place was cold There was 3 couples in the whole pub including myself and my breakfast took 45 mins / 1 hour to arrive Turned out to be just warm The staff didn’t even crack a smile Paid and lefted.

We went for the steak platter night and it was absolutely amazing!!! All the food was hot and the service was great! Meat came out exactly how we wanted! Couldn’t recommend more!

A large group of us dined here last night. Everyone raved about their meals; between us we enjoyed a range of the dishes on offer. Everything was delicious, portions were generous and the plates were hot - hooray!! The whole place was very busy, so we could excuse the rather slow service; the staff did very well considering. Only minor comment, the beans and broccoli were very undercooked - not just al dente. I would certainly recommend this eatery and will be back myself soon!

We stopped in here on a busy Sunday afternoon just for a quick drink after a long walk, but the food look so good we couldn’t resist. The sharing boards look incredible but we just ordered a single roast each which was enough for us as we can’t eat loads at once. Would love to go back for a board and dessert one day though! Even though we were walk-ins and added more food to our order after ten minutes, it came really quickly and was piping hot. Everything was amazing (deep fried parsnip meant I actually enjoyed my parsnip). The only complaint would have been there’s not much gravy, but when we asked for more it came within two minutes. The bill did too when we asked for it, even though they were so busy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the pub is beautiful inside with music and a great atmosphere. Will be returning!

Can’t ask anything more of a pub lunch! Succulent Roast Lamb was to die for! Flakey battery fish and chips and juicy Wagyu Burger. Will definitely be back again! Great atmosphere, exceptional service especially by from of house host Richard. Lovely cosy pub and Sunday roast by the fire place. Big portions and piping hot just how I like it. Only thing I would improve is the crackling, was unsalted and too hard, but everything else was perfect.

Great place for paint & sip events.

What a fabulous place. The staff are excellent from the wait staff to the manager, Richard, and the chefs produced amazing dishes. I choose a subject dish for lunch, Baked Hake with A Crab Crust and tenderstem broccoli, roast baby potatoes and the best hollandaise I can remember.

This is the first time we've tried The Railway, having been to most of the other pubs and restaurants in the area. And wow! Really nice friendly, helpful staff. The food was outstanding, and the mulled wine honestly the best I have had. Really superb! Just next to Teddington Station so perfect to drop into after a commute as well. Can't recomm end it hightly enough. We'll definitely be going back.

Omggggg the Sunday roast is the best I’ve ever had !!!!! It was soooo good! And unlike literally everywhere else the dessert came warm! Warm Bakewell tart! Warm doughnuts & ice cream ! Good service with lots of staff which makes dining there enjoyable

This is the best roast I've had in the area, much better than I imagined it would be! Being vegetarian, I was very happy to see two different options to choose from and I highly recommend the nut roast. My brother said the beef was also the best he'd had in a long time. Their festive hot drinks were amazing too!

I often come to the railway and the food is always excellent. What compelled me to write a review today though was the service I received from my waiter, Placido. From the greeting on the way in, to grabbing the door on the way out, the service was absolutely impeccable, he read us like a book and never without a smile. Great job, Placido, and thank you for having us.

We were here for a family birthday party. We were in the upstairs function room. In the downstairs bar the atmosphere was good. At our function upstairs, we had great service and lovely food.

We visited The Railway for a last minute Sunday Lunch, and we could not have been looked after more from beginning to end. The staff were excellent, especially 'Jenny', their Front of House, who could not do enough to accommodate us. Food and service both excellent...we will definitely be returning!

Perfection. The most perfect Sunday lunch we have all eaten. Faultless, delicious and huge. Fitting 15 of us in and ensuring service was polite and efficient seemed effortless for the team. Desserts and drinks were fantastic. The ale was fresh and tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was sublime! I was even treated to a birthday song and a cake. Loved every minute and can't wait to return.

A lovely, honest pub with good service but the food is the star. I ordered the chicken pie expecting a standard pub pie but it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Amazing.

When we arrived it was crazy busy with every table full upstairs and downstairs and having spoken to one of the waiters it had been like that all day!! As per usual exceptionally good service. Very friendly waiter who recommended a very nice red - so he’d actually tried the wine!!! The food was as delicious as ever and came pretty promptly after ordering. In the past we have had excellent service & food at The Railway Pub. We were celebrating a 30th birthday with our family. We made the pub aware of that and the fact 1 child was coeliac when we booked on line. We were booked for 3 p.m. and were not seated until 3.30 p.m. We had to ask for menus, water and children's activities. Each came separately. Four members of staff were asked re gluten free options and all were vague. I felt we were ignored. It was extremely busy and people who came after us were served before us. We had to ask when food was coming, we were not kept up to date about the delay. All three children were hungry. Food eventually arrived at 16.20. The meat roasts were good but the vegan roasts were disappointing with no carrots or parsnips on them. We were all fed up by this time & decided not to stay for deserts. We asked to have the children's' bill reduced because they were not going to stay for them. We were told this would not be possible. The two side dishes were deducted plus the service charge. We were not going to pay for this anyway as service had been so poor. A special occasion was spoilt by lack of communication and poor service. Due to this we will no longer go to The Railway Pub or recommend it.

So disappointing, arrived at 2.50 for a 3pm booking. The man at the front was awful. Having worked in restaurants for a long time myself im shocked that someone like this would have the responsibility of greeting guests. At 3.05pm we asked what was happening and his reply was you’ll just to wait. Finally sat at 3.30pm we then had to ask for the menu’s ourself. Our food finally arrived at 4.30pm. Numerous times we asked what was happening as we have 3 young children with us. Having been there lots of times before and never been disappointed im gutted with the service my family experienced. Not sure if the management has changed or the main floor people have but will not be going there again

After moving to Teddington six weeks ago, The Railway came highly recommended by locals. We took my parents in law and headed over. Greeted by a lovely staff member who informed us our table was just being made ready and we headed upstairs. Clean and busy with lots of roasts being enjoyed. We all went for lamb and it was perfectly cooked and everything was fantastic! Dessert was had and when there was an issue with the hot chocolate, the staff were fab sorting it out. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and service was prompt as could be. Will certainly be returning as regulars :)

We visited the Railway on the basis of a recommendation from our daughter, who had been there for Sunday lunch a week or two previously, so had Hugh expectations. Happily they were met, if not exceeded. The menu here is a mix of the usual and the unexpected, but all of the starters we tried - the mussels , the chargrilled Halloumi Caesar salad and whitebait - were uniformly excellent. In fact, if there was a criticism it was that the portions were so generous that by the end of the evening there was no room for dessert.... A very good night out.,

We went to this pub for lunch. Hadn’t been in a while but it used to be excellent with great food so we had high hopes!!. How wrong we were. I’m vegetarian so had checked menu online prior to visit and salads were available along with a vegetarian burger. On arrival menus provided and drinks ordered. Ordered vegan burger and told none left… nothing else on menu that I wanted but as drinks had arrived we were stuck. It would’ve been good if server had said what wasn’t available before ordering drinks as we would’ve left and gone elsewhere. As we were stuck he suggested a Cesar salad. He said with halloumi (wierd) I hate this so asked for a different cheese. When salad arrived as a main it was a joke. Literally a plate of lettuce not even shredded with a ‘dressing’ that was basically thick garlic mayo. According to the online menu it came with croutons tomatoes and Parmesan. When this was challenged I was told this is what Ithe inhouse menu stated yet was called a cesar salad. It was a basic green salad. Seems website is out of date and they in a cost cutting exercise charge the same but have removed most of the ingredients. This was the most shockingly bad meal I have seen in a while and find it really sad that a once excellent pub now serves such sub par food. If you are in Teddington head to the Kings Head a million times better!!. I will not be returning here again. Let’s see if management respond to this review….

Didn’t get asked if we had any allergies and my girlfriend had minor allergic reactions once we left Service was so bad man 2 orders come out wrong had to be sent back Had to ask for cutlery a number of times And in all my years of traveling this country eating roast dinners that could be one of the worst but for price to quality was the worst I have had Toby Carvery is half the price and 1 million times more welcoming and food tastes a lot better And to top it off the waiter didn’t offer us a kids menu or asked if we wanted a high chair There was no veg on the plate I had one pea just one pea that what £25 pound gets you We also had about 5 different waiters and they had no communication what so ever this is not acceptable and I will never be coming back even tho it’s walking distance from my home

Pouring with rain today at lunchtime so our dog walk and lunch in Bushy Park with my elderly dad and son wasn’t possible - so we popped in for lunch here instead. What a tasty lunch - our charming waitress managed to bring my dad a big pan of Moules even though they weren’t on the lunchtime menu. Fantastic tasty set lunch for myself and my son and a few dog biscuits for Ruby. Lovely birthday lunch with friendly service. Really enjoyed it. Perfect birthday treat.

We had a Sunday family sharing Platter, good, atmosphere, the staff were attentive, not overly so, good food plenty of it too Child and dog freindly. So why not 5 star? I would say it is overpriced. £160 for a party of 4, only a couple of cokes or Tonic, so it's not the drink inflating the price. I don't think I'd pay £40 per head for what was basically Sunday roast, chicken pork, lamb, and beef and steak, not Flash but ££££

The pub is light and welcoming. We had a nice table by the window (because of the shape of the room, a lot of tables are by windows. The lunch special menu is very good value - with a good selection of food. I had a mezze plate of falafels and hummus with olive bread to start, followed by a bacon quiche. The staff are friendly.

Genuinely so impressed with this venue. This is tricky to type as I work in hospitality and so see things from both sides of staff and normal everyday customer. I cannot tell you how much pleasure my husband and I got from our two consecutive visits to this pub. Richard, what a great team. Yesterday we had a superb evening of drinks after an afternoon with the dentist. Lucas absolutely blew us away with friendliness and product knowledge. A lovely lady called Maria who added an efficient and pleasant note to our evening the next day. We had seen Chateaubriand mentioned on the Thursday menu and decided to check it out the following evening. I waited to try the food before writing my review. I’m so impressed, not only was our Chateaubriand cooked exactly Medium Rare but the staff perfecting our visit made it special. It’s only a small mention but I sneezed during my meal and thought I may get a ‘bless you’, in fact I got a bless you from our waiter with three tissues, it was a gentleman called Philip who went above and beyond. The Chateaubriand was spectacular. Knowing what a clean beer line tastes like, I’m over the moon with beer quality. I would improve the selection of wine if it was my venue but that is far from a complaint. Bravo to whoever runs this pub, as we will be repeated customers.

I was surprised at the quality of the food. It was delicious, well presented and good size portions. Very enjoyable evening.

On a blistering day, I walked in and asked if they could fill my water bottle. Two minutes later, I walked out with a full flask of iced water for my journey. (I declined the offer of a slice of lime.) I feel like that kind of friendly generosity, when it’s clear I’m not going to buy anything, should be recognised.

Called in when we got to london on friday afternoon 16th June 23 and received a warm welcome. Called in again on Sunday (father's day) and they got us seated. Food was lovely and the staff all polite and welcoming will be back at some point. Thank you Alison and Brian.

The Cornish fish and chips were beautifully served with a delicious mayonnaise and caper sauce and minty mushy peas. The fish was perfectly crispy, not at all oily, and fresh as. The chips were hand cut with their skins on. I love chips done this...

Had Sunday lunch there yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic, 4 of us shared the ultimate roast which was for 2/3 people but more than enough food and great quality! Service was excellent and friendly. First time there but will be back.
