Cafe Torelli in Richmond upon Thames

I'm slightly loath to say how fantastic this place is, but I should share..

Delicious coffee and very friendly staff. Ham and cheese ciabatta was a little tough and slightly light on the filling but still very good.

This is a cafe with a great atmosphere. But the CP value is not high and things are a bit expensive, but if you want to chat here for a long time, I highly recommend it.

Consistently unfriendly service

It's really lovely coffee, pastry, sandwich place, and much more. Had 3 morning brews there with a pastry and one lunch. Lovely service and excellent food. Highly recommend 👌.

Stopped by for a coffee before getting on the train. Quick efficient service, great coffee and service. Also treated myself to a pistachio cannoli which was very good. Some seating available outside too.

Staff are very rude and don’t understand what you’re saying. There were flies on the displayed food too which put us off.

Awful food and service. Ordered a tuna salad, chicken Caesar salad, pasta Bolognese and a quiche. Drinks were fine. Took 20 minutes to bring the quiche out. 30 minutes to bring the rest. No tuna on the tuna salad. No Caesar dressing on the Caesar salad. Pasta Bolognese was disgusting and swimming in oil. Service was polite but incompetent as kept getting the food wrong.

Very nice and fast service. The salmon roll at 5.50 pounds is very rich and plump. Quality-price the best of Kew.

Popped to get some food for a picnic on the way to kew gardens. Staff are smiley and very welcoming. An excellent choice of food and drinks.

Coffee here is fantastic. Food only tried the sausage roll which was highly over priced and dry not great. Staff are not so welcoming and seem quite careless. I think they need to improve on food and quality of service. I am coming because coffee is great.

Visited here before going to Kew Gardens, quick service and fantastic cakes.

I love this place. It's very cosy, great atmosphere, perfect to come with a coffee and a book! I love that they have comfy chairs unlike many other cafés. The little garden inside is also very cute!

Cute little coffee shop round the corner from Kew Gardens. Lots of cakes, pastries and sandwiches on offer. We had just had lunch before popping in for coffee so didn’t get a chance to try any of the lovely things on display. They have a fair bit of seating at the back too. All the syrups you could want on offer (except salted caramel which was the only one we wanted!!) but we went for iced caramel lattes and they were delicious. Nice strong coffee and the perfect amount of syrup. Lots of drink and food options and a cosy vibe inside

update to the original review.. visited again and the service is terrible.. food generic and very average.. 4 people working the counter unable to take complete orders , more interested in chatting than serving and engaging with people , demonstrating almost unwillingness to treat people with manners and respect.. avoid !! decent place for takeaway food, sandwich and desert I had worth both very good . coffee frappe, was excellent and highly recommend .. some staff good some staff bad , so mixed bag there . one guy in his 30s handling the food was polite and friendly and had good manners , a slightly younger guy taller and a lot of attitude and slimmer was pretty bad took the money no please and no thank you more interested in chatting to the young girl working with them ... Guess he doesn't care that a lot of people don't come back when they are treated rudely ..He needs training .. others wise a decent place ..

Stopped for ice cream and cake after visit to Kew. Enjoyed the Italian ice cream- pistachio was lovely. Range of cakes and drinks available.

Can't believe we've walked past Cafe Torelli so many times and never been in. Great continental selection of foods, good coffee and lovely seating areas.

Breakfast. Over cooked eggs, bacon tough and everything cold. In a rush, there is no point complaining and wait for it to be replaced.

Go there. You won't regret it. A traditional Italian cafe. Food is excellent , staff are helpful and really friendly. Prices are really good . Wish it was closer to me . I woukd be there all the time

Lovely, small, outdoor, covered deck area.

Lovely place for an afternoon tea. The red velvet cake is so good! Earl grey tea is great! Ambience is cosy. The shop front looks small, but they have lots of sitting area inside and even an outdoor garden at the back, lovely!

Decent coffee, probably the best in the area which doesnt say much. The atmosphere of both its locations near Kew station is great and welcoming. But would travel further into Chiswick or Richmond if you're looking for better coffee and "vibes"

Really lovely cafe in Kew. The cappuccino is great and it’s a really nice place to sit in and relax with lots of couches and comfortable seating. I love the sandwiches and dessert options.

Lovely little cafe. We ate here before visiting Kew Gardens. Prices are very reasonable so we ordered sandwiches to go as well.

After driving around for an hour in the early hours of sunday morning after a night shift, I stumbled across this place and was not disappointed!

Amazing scenic atmosphere by Kew Gardens. We were visiting the area on a quiet rainy day so it was quaint and empty. Really enjoyed the sandwiches and the coffee. Friendly service as well. Great value for the price!

I always order a soup with bread! It's really nice taste and healthy style! I recommend here's soup!!

Friendly cafe conveniently located close to Kew Gardens and the station. Delicious coffee (we tried latte and macchiato) - too delicious in fact, as we had to have seconds! The pistachio cannolo was a hit. We will be back [again!].

The workers were lovely and the food was perfect. The hot chocolate might've been the best I've ever had, as well as the de Nada.

Whenever we visit Kew Gardens, going to Torelli for a toastie and coffee lunch,and pastry and tea afterwards is something we look forward to. Always a good choice, friendly service and good food. Much better than eating in Kew Gardens.

I had never been to this cafe before and actually didn't realise it was here. I happened to find it whilst wandering around as my usual coffee stop was too busy. I came in with a friend for a coffee and a sandwich to take away. The coffee was good quality and the cheese sandwich was very nice too and not too expensive for the quality.

It was busy when I got there, and definitely easy to see why. The barista still took the time to give everyone some latte art in their coffee. Really nice place to visit.

I have been coming here for the past 2 years, they have been constantly friendly and make excellent coffee , highly reccomend

What a great little cafe! We'd walked past it few times and made it our meeting place for our last morning in Kew. Good service and great coffee - the cabinet food looked great.

Nice latte and mocha. Service was efficient albeit a little brusque. We also got a raspberry brownie, but there was no discernible raspberry flavour. Ambience was relaxing.

Torelli Caffè is exactly what a local coffee house should be: great barista coffee, freshly made food, terrific service and a hangout for locals and visitors 😋

As someone who passes through, on my way to work, I find that, at both premises, the staff are very friendly, great coffee and very reasonably priced.

While waiting for our friends at Kew Station we had a coffee at this café. Shared seating with a number of other cafes outside the station entrance. Friendly staff and reasonable coffee set us up for a visit to Kew.

Very characterful little cafe. Inexpensive, considering the quality of the food and the location. Service was great, despite us being more indecisive and disorganised than Cheech and Chong

Arrived for lunch at 1,45 pm to be told the kitchen has closed , I asked why when it’s lunch time , the answer was we close the kitchen at 2 pm ! It was 1,45 pm I then again asked why it was closed early , my answer was “we are not slaves kitchen is closed early ! I had to find another venue for my business meeting incredibly poor service .

Lovely place, great coffee, nice outside area when warmer. Friendly staff normally. Music often vibes funky Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. Shame they STILL don't have a hook in the toilet for a handbag etc after I have mentioned. Must have been designed by a guy right? Huh? Will they read this ...? Let's see

As a non resident of this area I came across Cafe Torelli after attending Sunday Mass at the local church. Fantastic coffee and breakfast sandwich served by friendly and welcoming staff. Will be back again when next in the area.

That is a good place to get strength ahead of Kew visit. The guys are very efficient and polite and nice and the pastries we got were very nice indeed as well the coffee and sitting outside was nice too! PS this was just outside the station…on the other side there are very many other places that are probably cheaper…so you know!!!

Could be a nice spot for work hybrid like me however the music is too loud and one of the guys seems to be supervisor was too loud and too rude in confront of the others staff . I ordered a late and come a capuchino . . Shame as the spot its really nice .however I had to go somewhere else ro finish my work and meet my colleagues. Cant work in a such a noisy environment

We come here often with my kids and mum. The staff are super friendly. There is always a good atmosphere. The food and coffee are good too. I would highly recommend.

We got coffee, brownie and an éclairs, pastry was stale and they don’t know how to froth the milk. Service was ok, the place could do with some cleaning.

Excellent! Genuinely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I shared meals and both were excellent. Layered flavours and well presented. Reasonably priced for London also.

I am a local resident. I asked them to prepare my capuccino with soya milk since I am allergic to dairy. I suffered a severe allergic reaction soon after drinking it & when I asked them if they had used cow's milk they said yes despite I had made it clear not to give me cow's milk. They didn't even apologize & blamed me! Awful people.

We saw pigeons droppings in the mugs outside. Staff cleared tables, rinsed mugs under hot water and put them back to their original place. Disgusting...

There is nothing Italian about this coffee shop. It is an Eastern European cafeteria with an Italian name. A joke. Croissants are good though.

Old cake, oversugared smoothie and chocolate milkshake doesn't really taste nice. Disappointed:(

I'm not entirely sure how this cafe got their rating. Absurd waiting times, the manager scolds their staff in front of the customers, staff is not interested, not very friendly, and clumsy. Also severely overpriced. To be avoided. 1 star for the food, which was edable.

Terrible experience. Breakfast was served in installments. Toast had to go back to be toasted. Coffee came 30m after the eggs benedict. Chaos.

A great place to go for lunch or for a quick snack. They have delicious sandwiches and cakes as well as a beautiful garden patio in the back where you can eat. The staff members are friendly and helped us pick the best food. Highly recommend this amazing restaurant.

Das Cafe Torelli war unsere tägliche Anlaufstation zum Frühstücken. Der Kaffee war ausgezeichnet (was in England nicht unbedingt selbstverständlich ist) und die Croissants und anderen Gebäcke sehr lecker. Das Team ist extrem hilfsbereit und immer für einen kleinen Talk zu haben. Empfehlenswerte Pause vor oder nach dem Besuch von Kew Gardens.

Nice café. Good coffee and good food. Nice atmosphere and quick, attentive service. Lots of customers but all polite and good natured. Murals are great feature and great fun - spot the spider? If full there is another Torelli on the other side of the station: tiny but with lots of comfortable seating outside on the Plaza.

The place is really beautiful and the staff are so nice and friendly. I went on Sunday morning so it was a bit busy and it took around 20-30 minutes to get the food ready but it was worth it. The taste is amazing and you will have a great day by starting at this cafe. Highly recommended :)

Personally don't like the brand of milk (alpro) they use for coffee so don't think the coffee is great sadly. But nice staff and other products

My experience here has been very positive. I found the service excellent, super friendly and the coffee exquisite. Everything I tried both times I was at this place was delicious. I really liked the decoration and the atmosphere. Of course this is my experience and my opinion. It would have been great if the pastries were less sweet!

We have breakfast at Torelli a couple of times a week. I always have a croissant and coffee although the other food looks very good. Staff are very welcoming and the ambiance is delightful

I had a delicious lunch here on Tuesday. The chicken sandwich was hot and delicious. The staff are always friendly and efficient and I would recommend this place to future diners visiting Kew.

We went here at two couples on recommendation. This place does not do table service for your drinks or placing orders. That’s fine but what let this place down was that all four of the cooked English breakfasts were basically cold! The eggs were over-done / hard, baked beans cold (side dish) cold, toast was barely toasted and was cold. Such a shame as the ingredients used looked good. An added bonus was a large black hair in my breakfast which I found at the end. Didn’t bother saying anything as seemed little point. We all said we would not return here unless it was just for coffee and cake - certainly not a breakfast!

Love this coffee shop. Friendliest of staff! Makes me feel like I am in my living room with a gooooood cup of coffee.
