Cafe Torelli in Richmond upon Thames

Unfortunately my coffee was burnt and the sausage roll was £6.

Whenever we visit Kew Gardens, going to Torelli for a toastie and coffee lunch,and pastry and tea afterwards is something we look forward to. Always a good choice, friendly service and good food. Much better than eating in Kew Gardens.

It was busy when I got there, and definitely easy to see why. The barista still took the time to give everyone some latte art in their coffee. Really nice place to visit.

Nice latte and mocha. Service was efficient albeit a little brusque. We also got a raspberry brownie, but there was no discernible raspberry flavour. Ambience was relaxing.

Torelli Caffè is exactly what a local coffee house should be: great barista coffee, freshly made food, terrific service and a hangout for locals and visitors 😋

This is the best cafe in Kew & Richmond! Coffee is second to none, impeccable service from Max who is the heart and soul of the cafe. We come everyday and never gets old. Would recommend to everyone.

As someone who passes through, on my way to work, I find that, at both premises, the staff are very friendly, great coffee and very reasonably priced.

Arrived for lunch at 1,45 pm to be told the kitchen has closed , I asked why when it’s lunch time , the answer was we close the kitchen at 2 pm ! It was 1,45 pm I then again asked why it was closed early , my answer was “we are not slaves kitchen is closed early ! I had to find another venue for my business meeting incredibly poor service .

Lovely place, great coffee, nice outside area when warmer. Friendly staff normally. Music often vibes funky Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. Shame they STILL don't have a hook in the toilet for a handbag etc after I have mentioned. Must have been designed by a guy right? Huh? Will they read this ...? Let's see

As a non resident of this area I came across Cafe Torelli after attending Sunday Mass at the local church. Fantastic coffee and breakfast sandwich served by friendly and welcoming staff. Will be back again when next in the area.

That is a good place to get strength ahead of Kew visit. The guys are very efficient and polite and nice and the pastries we got were very nice indeed as well the coffee and sitting outside was nice too! PS this was just outside the station…on the other side there are very many other places that are probably cheaper…so you know!!!

Could be a nice spot for work hybrid like me however the music is too loud and one of the guys seems to be supervisor was too loud and too rude in confront of the others staff . I ordered a late and come a capuchino . . Shame as the spot its really nice .however I had to go somewhere else ro finish my work and meet my colleagues. Cant work in a such a noisy environment

We come here often with my kids and mum. The staff are super friendly. There is always a good atmosphere. The food and coffee are good too. I would highly recommend.

We got coffee, brownie and an éclairs, pastry was stale and they don’t know how to froth the milk. Service was ok, the place could do with some cleaning.

Excellent! Genuinely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I shared meals and both were excellent. Layered flavours and well presented. Reasonably priced for London also.

I am a local resident. I asked them to prepare my capuccino with soya milk since I am allergic to dairy. I suffered a severe allergic reaction soon after drinking it & when I asked them if they had used cow's milk they said yes despite I had made it clear not to give me cow's milk. They didn't even apologize & blamed me! Awful people.

We saw pigeons droppings in the mugs outside. Staff cleared tables, rinsed mugs under hot water and put them back to their original place. Disgusting...

There is nothing Italian about this coffee shop. It is an Eastern European cafeteria with an Italian name. A joke. Croissants are good though.

Old cake, oversugared smoothie and chocolate milkshake doesn't really taste nice. Disappointed:(

I'm not entirely sure how this cafe got their rating. Absurd waiting times, the manager scolds their staff in front of the customers, staff is not interested, not very friendly, and clumsy. Also severely overpriced. To be avoided. 1 star for the food, which was edable.

Terrible experience. Breakfast was served in installments. Toast had to go back to be toasted. Coffee came 30m after the eggs benedict. Chaos.

A great place to go for lunch or for a quick snack. They have delicious sandwiches and cakes as well as a beautiful garden patio in the back where you can eat. The staff members are friendly and helped us pick the best food. Highly recommend this amazing restaurant.

Das Cafe Torelli war unsere tägliche Anlaufstation zum Frühstücken. Der Kaffee war ausgezeichnet (was in England nicht unbedingt selbstverständlich ist) und die Croissants und anderen Gebäcke sehr lecker. Das Team ist extrem hilfsbereit und immer für einen kleinen Talk zu haben. Empfehlenswerte Pause vor oder nach dem Besuch von Kew Gardens.

Nice café. Good coffee and good food. Nice atmosphere and quick, attentive service. Lots of customers but all polite and good natured. Murals are great feature and great fun - spot the spider? If full there is another Torelli on the other side of the station: tiny but with lots of comfortable seating outside on the Plaza.

The place is really beautiful and the staff are so nice and friendly. I went on Sunday morning so it was a bit busy and it took around 20-30 minutes to get the food ready but it was worth it. The taste is amazing and you will have a great day by starting at this cafe. Highly recommended :)

Personally don't like the brand of milk (alpro) they use for coffee so don't think the coffee is great sadly. But nice staff and other products

My experience here has been very positive. I found the service excellent, super friendly and the coffee exquisite. Everything I tried both times I was at this place was delicious. I really liked the decoration and the atmosphere. Of course this is my experience and my opinion. It would have been great if the pastries were less sweet!

We have breakfast at Torelli a couple of times a week. I always have a croissant and coffee although the other food looks very good. Staff are very welcoming and the ambiance is delightful

I had a delicious lunch here on Tuesday. The chicken sandwich was hot and delicious. The staff are always friendly and efficient and I would recommend this place to future diners visiting Kew.

We went here at two couples on recommendation. This place does not do table service for your drinks or placing orders. That’s fine but what let this place down was that all four of the cooked English breakfasts were basically cold! The eggs were over-done / hard, baked beans cold (side dish) cold, toast was barely toasted and was cold. Such a shame as the ingredients used looked good. An added bonus was a large black hair in my breakfast which I found at the end. Didn’t bother saying anything as seemed little point. We all said we would not return here unless it was just for coffee and cake - certainly not a breakfast!

A very nice cafe that does delicious smoothies, hot chocolates, coffees, pastries and a variety of other delicious treats! The staff are friendly and it has an amazing atmosphere which will greet people warmly! Would recommend very much for a walk.

I typically wear a mask in public still (one of the few people who do it) to protect others from COVID - I am all vaccinated and boosted, and also got COVID a few months ago so my immunity against COVID is pretty strong. I really wear it to prevent myself from giving it to others if I have it but just don’t show symptoms. I did not appreciate that one of the staff said when he saw me with a mask “why are you wearing a mask” repeatedly about 3-4 times in a taunting voice. It wasn’t a question out of curiosity but instead a taunting and condescending remark. This strikes me as the staff / employee having very little respect for other humans and providing customer with horrible service. I shouldn’t feel bad or ridiculed for wearing a mask into a coffee shop for the public’s safety.

Lovely cafe in Kew. Nice Italian food, great for lunch and snacks. I had a lovely tomato and mozzarella Panini. V friendly and well done up. Plus the location is great.

Excellent coffee, sandwiches and cakes - Truly Exquisite

Lived nearby all my life and never been before. Came back to visit and I wish I discovered it sooner. The sandwiches you can have toasted are stunning and full of fresh ingredients so you really get your money worth. We also had the brûlée cheesecake which was amazing. Wish we could have come back more.

They have a wide range of coffees, as well as pastries. The seating area is good, with a rear garden if you want to sit outside. The staff are always happy and friendly. Worth popping in if you're local to Kew village.

In my opinion, the place had not nice sandwiches and felt a little unhygienic. Used the sales tongs for meat sandwiches and fish/veggie sandwiches.

Today 12/7/22, 3.55pm, the service we had for the Ice Cream was Appaling it was very Soft, I can see its already Melting side ways while he was doing it. and Half of the Ice Cream just went straight away went on the Floor.! No Apologies to us, as I was just paying. The 2 Men didn't even want know & to listen to what im saying! just saying I should go see the Manager. Appaling Customer Service!! You need to Train your Staff some Customer Service!! DO NOT BUY ANY ICE CREAM IN TORRELI..

I love stopping by this place for a break. In my two weeks in Kew, I have found the employees here are so very kind! The tea is good. The almond croissant is so good!

Stopped here for a quick coffee and bite. Staff was friendly and had a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. I love the tiny garden at the back. I have no idea which bakery provides the focaccia, buns, rolls etc. but they are really delicious. You can taste that the sour dough starter had been properly made and the final product is delicious. I love London because of places like this.

So disappointed, watery fresh orange that they charge £5 a glass , when we enquired why it was so watery we where greeted with a stream of arrogance and abuse … won’t stop here ever again

Great food, lovely atmosphere. We checked out the other eateries near Kew Gardens tube station and this seemed nicest and was more reasonably priced. We had warm chicken and bacon sandwiches on lovely bread, followed by raspberry brownie and fruits of the forest tart.

Update 2: after refurbishment the place got a new vibe and is absolutely great all around. Update: now that kids' play area is at the rear, it's cold and crammed there, and parents can't see their kids. Besides, it is right next to the garden door, so kids can smell how adults are smoking outside every time the door opens. Toys are very old, broken and dirty. Still a good place, but moving play area was a bad choice. This place is absolutely must go for all parents for it has a small play area where the little ones can mingle with their ilk and play with numerous toys - giving mummy and daddy those precious 10, 15, 20 minutes (more like 30 seconds in our case though) of uninterrupted coffee and sandwich. And boy, aren't they good here!

We’ve been going here for a long time but we’re surprised and disappointed today to find that rather than creating more space as a result of covid-19 they’ve squeezed a few more tables! Strongly advise you avoid the establishment at all costs!

Good selection of sandwiches. Enjoy wfh and taking my dog for a lunchtime walk and popping into this cafe on my way home for a bite. Always welcoming to me and my dog.

Yummy hot crusty seeded brown bread with halloumi and aubergine. Tasty leek and potato soup and very good hot flat white. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
