Neil is an embodiment of kindness and warmth, the epitome of a truly angelic spirit. I've encountered few individuals as compassionate and endearing as her. The opportunity to meet these two remarkable people (Neil and Simon) is reason enough to book a stay here. Neil's culinary talents extend beyond breakfast, offering a delightful and wholesome start to each day. Her genuine care and wisdom have left an enduring impression on me, despite our brief encounter. She made the best Indian lunch and offered it to me for tasting and I was blown away. She made sure that our room was decorated to add to our celebration. This hotel's prime location, with effortless access to the beach, high street, and other amenities, further enhances its appeal.

We recently stayed at The Quies in Newquay and were thoroughly impressed by the experience. The hotel itself boasts clean, comfortable rooms with modern amenities, ensuring a restful stay. The location is perfect for exploring Newquay, with easy access to both the beach and local attractions. A standout feature of our stay was the hospitality provided by our host, Sam. He was exceptionally welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure that our visit was memorable. His knowledge of the area and recommendations for dining and activities helped us make the most of our trip. Overall, The Quies offers a fantastic accommodation choice in Newquay, combining comfort, convenience, and friendly service. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time on 1st April and it was absolutely wonderful. Love the small-plate menu format which allowed us to try different things. We ordered 6 dishes to share and loved them all. They were fresh and full of flavour. Even the carrots were prepared in an inspired way. If you are reading this, then you likely already know that Verdant brews its own beer. The ones were tried were delicious and memorable. Last, but definitely not least, I have to compliment the two waitresses who attended our table. They were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and nothing was too much trouble. Best service we've experienced in a long time. This may have been our first visit, but it will not be our last. Can't wait to return!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Queen’s Head in St Stephen, Cornwall, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. The roast dinner was an absolute standout—perfectly cooked meat, tender and flavorful, paired with golden, crispy roast potatoes that were some of the best I’ve ever had. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a delight, light and fluffy, and the generous helping of rich gravy tied it all together beautifully. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the food here, making it a proper Sunday treat. The atmosphere in the pub is just as impressive. It’s a charming, cozy spot with a warm, welcoming vibe—think crackling woodburners, friendly chatter from locals, and that quintessential Cornish village charm. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you’re a regular or just passing through. The beer garden and play area out back are lovely touches too, perfect for a sunny day. The staff truly elevate the whole experience. They’re incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and made to feel like valued guests. Service was spot-on—quick without feeling rushed—and they were happy to chat and offer recommendations. All in all, The Queen’s Head is a gem. The roast dinner alone is worth the visit, but the fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff make it a place I’ll be eager to return to. Highly recommend!
