Beautiful building and good value for money

Accessible Room is great, but not Accessible by mobility scooter.... access to lift too tight, but space to leave downstairs and room is next to lift. Apology from housekeeper for the cracked toilet seat (it had happened over the Bank Holiday) for disturbing us at 10am to replace on the Tuesday morning. Literally as soon as the maintenance man could go out and pick one up. No parking at hotel but free overnight street parking ( 1 hour during the day) and nearby car parks available. Staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was any trouble.

We've never stayed at a wetherspoons hotel before and weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised in every way, from the cleanliness of the rooms- when I say they were spotless, I truly mean it! To the staff who were so lovely, helpful, and bright, we felt we'd walked into 5 star service! Particular shout out to Kim, who fixed a minor issue we had on our first night with no complaints, and a smile on her face, she made us feel we were heard without being a bother to her, and she also is buzzing around the place non stop- this lady works incredibly hard! Matt, who is behind the bar, mixes the perfect amount of professionalism with friendly chat. The food is as expected from a wetherspoons, cheap and cheerful, and served fast!

What’s not to love ? Great friendly staff , great location and the food is what you get at every weatherspoons . The difference being it’s brought with a smile , you get checked halfway through if everything is ok and they clear up promptly. Well done Team Queen’s Head . Parking is not on your doorstep but a 5 minute walk for long stay . Top tip … you can park for free ‘kerb side’ if you pass the bus station and can find a spot . Other than that free 1 hour spots around the town , short and long stay options. For those who haven’t stayed in a ‘spoons hotel try this one, it will exceed your expectations.

Excellent location. Long stay parking nearby. Rooms lovely (spacious with water and tea /coffee making facilities). Lovely shower. Amazing food and excellent service despite being very busy on a bank holiday weekend. Cleaning staff polite & helpful.

Went in two days ago for lunch. Nice interior , good choice of food, I had chicken and bacon salad, which was perfect because I wanted something light for a change and not expensive. Nice staff , perfect

You should be able to get the food separately and as not as a meal This has really upset me and has ruined my night and not enough food The staff was nice but that was it unfortunately The interior of the building was unappealing I LOVE THE pictures tho they are my favourite But this was the only reason I keep coming is to look at the pictures,perhaps I could buy one. Our first time in this branch on a lovely day, Tavistock festival & thought of supporting locals. Straightaway we sat outside their garden area coz we got our small dog, which normally restaurants policy anyway. We ordered our foods & paid. Few minutes later, as soon as they served our foods, lady came out, apologising to say "No dogs allowed". I did apologise too for not noticing the sign so I left my meal just to take our dog back in the car. Our point is, we are genuine customers, they could be more considerate of us starting & finishing our food and maybe tell us to remember their policy next time. But there will be no next time for us coz we will never gonna visit this branch again not only bcoz of this issue but bcoz food was crap. You get what you paid for.

Great pub, £1.15 coffee with free refills, great menu, good beer garden

Really bad customer service on one particular visit to the establishment. I ordered my normal dish and asked them to swap out the coleslaw for the blue cheese dip, normally this has been fine at other and even this particular outlet. However on the day the kitchen manager refused. And not even in a polite way. Had to pay extra and for the coleslaw which I asked to be excluded from my meal.. disgraceful service.

It's a spoons.... so we know what to expect and what we get

Poor service, not enough serving staff. I'd finished my meal before being given a coffee cup. I'd ordered on the app as the queue at the bar was long. Never been to an eatery where it takes longer to serve a drink than it does to serve a cooked meal. There is an upstairs unattractive outdoor space for warmer days. Not the best Spoons ! But food was ok 👍

Definitely one of the best Wetherspoons. Plenty of room, and variety of seating areas. Good choice of ales.

I don’t know the rooms but the pub is nice, typical good value Wetherspoons but in an old coaching inn and former hotel. I like the well with the glass table top and the wood burner.

Came here for a meal in the afternoon. Food quality good and nice atmosphere. Convenient in the centre of town near the Bus Station

Food was great, but the tables were filthy! Not only were they left uncleared, there was nobody wiping them in-between clients. No excuse as staff were chatting behind the bar!! I gave our table a wipe down with a serviette which was black when I finished 🤮

Room was clean and well presented. Bar staff really good. We left our Amazon fire stick I. The tv and rang back to retrieve it. When I got there the lady behind the bar said that is very illegal and don’t use it on our hotels again! I didn’t argue as I had my daughter with me but she was very ill informed and rude!

Lovely hotel. This was my second visit here. The rooms are immaculate and a very comfortable bed. There was a problem with my key card and Gemma tried very hard to resolve it with no success so we had to wait until Trevor, the manager, came on duty. He had some difficulties but eventually resolved it. Both staff were lovely and very apologetic about the issue. All bar staff were good and efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Ordered food today there. was brought wrong food and asked to change it to correct order and was refused and was told we didn't order what we asked for .bad attitude from staff throughout

Been loads and normally it's a very good experience, today was a bit different as our breakfast turned up cold, only for it to be nuked in the microwave and handed back.. Not really what you'd expect, but as said usually they are very good...

Second stay here. Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Very clean with good walk in shower. Don't write off "Spoons" until you've tried it. As good as Premier inns. No parking close at hand but can drop off 1 hour parking in street outside. Nice open fire in bar for that cosy feel on a winters night

Cannot comment on the accomodation. The pub is large, very busy, and ,though old, not particularly interesting inside. It has an outside area and, most unusually, a lovely rooftop area. The drinks and food were the norm for a Spoons ..sensibly priced and very enjoyable. It is hard NOT to recommend a Spoons. So therefore I do unreservedly recommend it. .

Lovely old English hotel. Staff friendly. Rooms are large, everything is clean and tidy. Bathroom and toilet ok. Great bed. No back pain. Restaurant and pub in the hotel. Central location to the city. Unfortunately breakfast is not included in the price contain. Windows can be don't open. Not ideal in the event of a fire. No parking space at the hotel. Large paid parking lot about 5 minutes on foot. Second time in Tavistock.

Normally I would give a positive review. However, our visit today was very disappointing. The venue was very busy with many people as it was Goosey Fair day in Tavistock. We ordered the traditional and large breakfast and the food was barely warm. As it was so busy in there we did not return our meals, choosing to eat them quickly and get out of there. This is not how I enjoy my food and not how I want to remember Wetherspoons. No one even came to ask if the food was alright.

This place is amazing, cheap drinks that are always really nice, milly bolgiani was so nice too!! I really really recommend visiting !

Nice old historic pub right in the town centre. Now a Wetherspoons, so cheaper prices on food and drinks, downside usually packed with families at the busy eating times. Still a fairly good place to go, service quick and efficient. Compact pub, hotel rooms also available at good rates.

Pleasant atmosphere, quick service very good food, caring and helpful staff

The nicest Wetherspoons I have ever visited. A nice mix of old and new decor, allowing you to choose your preference. Midweek, afternoon special, Fish and Chips with a pint for just under a tenner. Bargain.

Always loved the atmosphere in here and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Food to be honest has never disappointed and is nicely affordable. For a whetherspoons it's definitely one of the best.

I am a 75 y o on a long e bike cycle ride to Spain and often use ' Spoons in the UK. At 5pm on a quiet Monday, I asked the duty manager, Gemma, if I could use an external power charger. She said there were none outside, but I was welcome to use one in a quiet corner inside. V G Customer Service Pint was only spoiled by a screaming baby whose parents finally took her out after 15 mins

Spacious,no dogs or music so beautiful.Curry slightly liquidy but otherwise fine.Service and value top notch. Toilets so clean.Will defo return.

Popped in for meal after appointment. App was absolutely rubbish to use at time. Fish & chips OK nothing special. Service was super quick for both drinks & food

Great stay here overnight in one of their rooms, all clean and tidy, shower good. Ate here too nice food good service. Great location near centre of town. Usual reasonable Wetherspoon prices. No parking but town car park nearby, as is bus station. Would recommend

Came in here twice on my cycle ride from Okehampton. Firstly in the morning for a drink & charge of the battery. Then on the way back from Plymouth for another charge up and something to eat. It’s one of the better Spoons I’ve visited, staff are always friendly. I ordered the Steak with jacket potato and some roasted veg. It was very good and set me up for the final ride back.

Very poor exchange of words with a jumped up Manager called Laura who berated me for helping myself to a serviette. Quite the little madam, pointed me to the sign on the wall which i didn't even see. There are ways to address customers and as a manager, she clearly has not been trained in people skills. Up until this time, I had been a very loyal customer and attended routinely with friends and families, however, I will never step a foot in this place again and will gladly take my custom elsewhere.

It was pretty good, food was nice and the outdoor seating was well kept. The toilets were extremely posh and clean they even had won an award for best toilet one year. Over all it was a good experience.

The wi-fi/ Internet wouldn't play nicely, so I had to order at the bar, old stool style. The food arrived quickly and, was exactly as expected from a Weatherspoons pub.

Our server Louis was really nice and helpful during our visit there today, 21.06.24, definitely recommend a visit here !!

The food is awful. I had a panini. Cheese and tomato. It was cheese flavored at least! But no cheese to be seen. The tomatoes were so thin. It was a roll not a panini. No side salad. I totally understand you get what you pay for, but come on. !

Went for food on Fathers day. I was expecting a long wait for food. It came within 15 minutes. Very impressive.

Our first stay at the Queen's Head lovely room everything you need in the room Tea, coffee, milk, water, biscuits. Highly recommend the Queen Head.

We stayed and dined there. Lovely place. Cozy rooms, very accessible, good food as always, and absolutely brilliant location. All the walks are around and pannier market is just 3 minutes away.

We always visit The Queen's Head for a quick drink when we visit Tavistock. The pub is spacious yet cosy. Our table was bathed in natural light which beamed in from the large roof window. We watched the usual Tavistock rain gently patter. My partner praised the beer and my hot chocolate was warming and gave me a frothy, friendly hug.

Our first trip to a Wetherspoon Hotel, so there was a degree of trepidation but the room was immaculate, the bed comfy and it had plenty of properly hot water for the big walk-in shower. The Hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of town and was really really quiet overnight. We would happily stay there again.

Lovely location reasonably priced drinks, nice big venue one of the best pubs in tavistock. Only up the road from the market.

Great place to eat, lots of room and the food was really good. I liked the helping yourself to the coffee as much as you wanted as well. Also there toilets were clean which is a big win. I'll definitely be back again.

Absolutely loved it. Room spotlessly clean. Bed really comfy. Affordable price. Good cheap beer and food. Receptionist was very friendly and quick to check in. Its in the middle of town so easy to walk around and enjoy the town.

Great pub where you can eat and drink cheaply. The area near the bar is not accessible to children. We had reserved a room there, but the reception from the lady at the bar was not so friendly. She was apparently very busy.

Jail Ale for just over £2.50 & Plum porter from Titanic Brewery for a similar price. What's not to like, and all in a great setting in the heart of Tavistock. Well done Spoons

✨️we do try and visit local eateries/pubs. However, a very wet Saturday afternoon in Tavistock proved to find everywhere jammed packed ! So off to the weatherspoons we go ! Was fairly busy but found a table, lots of staff, very welcoming and clean/tidy. Food bought promptly, as well as drinks ordered via the app. The only downside was a lot of food was out of stock, so only burgers 🍔 were available.Toilets 🚻 were one of the nicest I've been in by far ! Historic building with plenty of history used to be an old coaching house and stables for travellers going up through Devon. Overall, if you like your weatherspoons, definitely check this one out !

4th stay at The Queenshead Tavistock. Not dissapointed. Central and ideal location, rooms clean, comfy and well serviced. Food is ok. Busy environment. Will use again in future.

Outraged. The waitress in the orange top and glasses tonight was incredibly rude to me and my friend. Extremely condescending and unprofessional in the way she spoke to us. I know it’s only weatherspoons but still very poor customer service. Food was lovely as always though.

One of the busiest Wetherspoons pubs we've been in with the usual high standards. First time we've stayed in a spoons hotel and we're pleased. High standard rooms with no sound from from the pub below. Sound from the next rooms not so good or when house keeping are chatting in the corridor, squeaky floorboards too as inherited from when it was an old hotel.
