Another spot on meal at the Queens Head. Mother in law thought it was absolutely amazing. All had lamb which they ran out of shortly afterwards. Great value for money (£9 each I think). Side of cauli cheese would be enough for 2 to share. Will be back. Service at the ball was brilliant especially considering it was very busy

3rd visit and the food was very lovely again. Sunday Roast a few months back was very nice and good play area for kids. Had a pulled pork baguette this time which was very nice. Very reasonable prices and lots TV's to watch the sport also if that's your wish. Service was quick also. Maybe call ahead to see if the kitchen is open as we have previously turned up to find its closed on a couple of occasions.

Booked this place for a evening midweek meal. Visited some years ago and it was ok then. Booked a table for 7. Asked to change it 6.45. Was told no chance as busy.. Arrived to fine about 15 people in the pub and numerous tables empty. Asked if we order food at table or bar and was told it depends if the young staff come out the kitchen to take the order. We ordered 2 main meals and waited about 1 hour 15?mins to get these. Not there was literally a table of 4 and a table of 2 before us. Told twice it will be 5 mins then 20 mins later the food arrived. Triple cooked chips more than over cooked and still wrong peas with order given so little customers. Fair was nice when it came. Table next to us ordered dessert but then 10 mins later we’re told there was none of what they ordered. We declined after a and went to the bar to pay. Even then with so little orders our bill was still wrong. Never again unfortunately. What was meant to be a relaxing evening meal needed up being stressful. Employ young staff on minimal wage and the service reflects. Never again. Angry of Tamworth

Thank you for looking after us. We were staying down the road at the Wigwams a mile away and it was certainly worth the walk as we were taken care of wonderfully. 2 meals we had here plus plenty of drinks, games of pool and turns on the jukebox. There were several menu's available, one being a light bite lunch that suited our appetite perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was, home-made, well cooked, tasty and well presented. We were given time for the main course to digest before ordering a dessert. We were warm, well looked by friendly staff and will definitely return again. Family visited here for Sunday dinner and it wasn’t great, I’m wondering if some people are getting it mixed up with other pubs in the area with the same name (one suggests it’s near the services in Tamworth- it’s not!). First the good - my husband said the beer was kept well and was good. The average- only two options for Sunday dinner: beef or chicken. Quality of the food was ok (meat and roast potatoes), but the rest was poor. The vegetables were boring and cooked to an inch of their life and you could tell the produce wasn’t great (you could taste the cheap margarine in the mash). It would be worth them putting their prices up slightly and using better ingredients. The poor - service. They had two young lads (one of them obviously new that day), they were doing a mixture of serving and washing up. One of them definitely needs to stay just waitering as it took us an age to order and I had to keep going searching for them! Also some training really should be done before the arrival of customers! The really poor - puddings ok, but served by the waiters with tea towels draped in them and mucky (chocolate?) finger prints on the bowls. The worst thing - my husband asked for cream with his bread and butter pudding - it arrived with chocolate ice cream . When this was pointed out they took it back to the kitchen, scraped most of the ice cream off (but not all!) and served the same pudding! So bread and butter pudding, with bits of chocolate ice cream and cream. Really not great! My husband isn’t fussy, so are it - I would have sent it back.

Well we did visit again. Took 50 mins from ordering 2 Sunday roasts and a pizza to actually receiving it. A couple that ordered their 2 roasts at least 30 mins after we did received theirs 5 mins before us and we were told its because we ordered a pizza. I have no idea why it takes 50 mins to make up a pizza. Its not like they were busy. We were warned before placing the order that they had no chips left as they were moving to a new menu which is strange as all menus usually feature chips somewhere on them. Apparently they also ran out of roast potatoes near the end of service. After getting back home we received a phone call from them asking if we had paid. Luckily my wife kept the receipt and was able to give the details to prove we did. The organisation in this place seems to have gone downhill over the years. There was just 1 guy pouring the drinks and taking orders and I felt sorry for him. The good news is that the food was eventually delivered hot and tasted as great as ever but waiting 50 mins for it is too long in a half empty pub. --- Previous review below --- Always good food and service although they did serve 2 main meals and forgot my sons order (Pizza) but it was put right ASAP. My Thai Red Curry was really nice and I enjoyed every bit of it. Will be back again soon.

The Land lady was very welcoming saying what a raw time she had through COVID but things are now getting much better and I believe that to get back to normal, quality must be paramount in food which I didn’t find on our night out, so sad no more visits for a while.

We used to be regulars at this place a few years ago, but unfortunately the standards started to decline so we stopped going. We decided to try this place again a few days ago as it was a lovely summers evening. We arrived at about 7.45pm but had not made a reservation, although there were empty tables inside and out. We were told that we would have to wait about 40 minutes before a table would be available which was fine, so we ordered a bottle of wine and sat in the beer garden. After about 20 minutes our food order was taken and after our food was served in the beer garden and we told the waitress we were eating inside, and the manager told the waitress to take us to table 7 inside, once inside the manager said we could sit at another table which was larger, even though there was only one table being used inside so why did we have to wait outside 50 minutes for a table? We started eating fish & chips as the chicken we ordered was not available. The food which comprised of two small fish potions tasted horrible on a bed of tasteless chips. The only good thing was the the bottle of red wine which had the co-op label on it.We realised why we had not been back for such a long time.

We visited here today for the first time, having driven past it many times. Very friendly staff. Ordered 2 meals from the £14 for 2 offer. One being faggots and mash, the other a prawn wrap with homemade coleslaw and chips in a basket. The faggot (as in one, albeit quite a good size) was delicious. The wrap was a wholemeal one - it didn't say that on the board or menu and I wasn't asked if I wanted white or wholemeal when we ordered. Consequently it tasted like dried cardboard. If I'd known it was wholemeal I would have ordered something else. The basket of chips turned out to be chips on the same plate as the wrap - no problem particularly but why say basket when it isn't? The marie rose sauce had quite a strange aftertaste, almost as if it had perfume in it, so that was odd. We will go again but I'll not order a wrap or prawns again.

I visited this pub with friends for a drink.I just want to say i have never witnessed a land lord and land lady so rudeif we have done something wrong there is a right way to tell customers. As we where leaving the land lord gave us verbal abuse calling us a load of wan.....ers and not to go to his pub again.I found this very object able and un professional. Also the gardens at the rear of the pub was a disgrace with dog mess all over the place.I obviously will not be returning to this pub or my friends. At the moment because of xmas there are people in.They might need customers like us after the chrismas holiday.

Visited with local cycling club. My friends were caught eating their own food but didn't know the pub offered food which I suppose is fair enough but it was full meals which is no good to you when your cycling 50 to 60 miles you only want a cob or something. They only needed to politely tell us but no they had to be extremely rude and verbally abusive even calling us wa...rs. disgusting behaviour from supposedly professional people. These people do not deserve any customers and I hope people read this review and think twice about going there. From Cannock

I wanted a plate of food and a pint after a long day - staying nearby where could I go? To be fair the information available on the web is minimal ( different names, locations etc) but as within walking distance of where I was staying thought I would give it a go. Not disappointed, great selection of good honest pub food at decent prices with a nice selection of draft pints available - again at decent prices! Scampi & chips + a pint of Thatchers exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t have asked for better,,,,, It’s now called The Bulls Head!!

I have gone past it for years and always thought the outside looked dull and not welcoming at all. So if the effort is not put in for the outside, then there cannot be much effort on the inside. The saying 1st impression comes to mind. Needs flowers and plant boxes and some change in a bit of colour. Boarders around grass edges done properly and more outside design in general. Could have huge potential with the right look and garden area done properly.

We had my dad's wake here and nothing was enough for Kim and the team. They made the day run so smoothly for us, we couldn't of picked a better pub to hold it at. Thank you all so much!

Wonderful Sunday lunch-had seen lots of positive reviews on FB, and we weren’t disappointed- the food was great-lots of fresh veg-upgraded to fillet steak and it was perfectly cooked. Staff were lovely. Will be back.
