Lovely local Costa , staff super helpful and happy. Toilet could do with a spruce up.

Just read my review from a few years ago after riding through today. Can't believe there going to vet people who haven't had the jab. Always good service and that essential coffee, back in after to what appears to be my most, visited Costa. On a wet Tuesday, packed as normal. Not quite sure about the social distancing?

At the end of the day, all Costas are pretty much the same. Where the store in Atherstone (Long Street, not the A5) differs is the staff. They are always pleasant, smiling and seem genuinely happy at their work. So much so that I asked one of the girls why they are always so happy. Was it because Costa is a good employer, or what? Apparently, it's because they have a great Manager. I have to agree. Carl is a real card!

It's a good venue, but it seems that the staff have lost the keenness to be happy and pro active in the shop. I'm not sure why, but it's a different feeling visiting recently and not as homely as we used to feel.

Typical Costa, could be anywhere in the world, staff are polite, friendly and helpful, atmosphere is manufactured 'cosy' coffee and food is vastly overpriced and nothing to shout about.

This is one of the best costas I go to , the coffe is made with real care . The manager has trained his staff to give the same friendly , professional service he gives. We go often to Costa cafes and this is one of the best !

Really good place but so over priced and I will come again but they need to think about the price of stuff because if your coming as a large family it’s gonna be mega expensive coming as a single person it’s still gonna cost at least £12for a coffee and a small cake.

Such a friendly welcoming place in the middle of historic market town . You can sit outside in the sun on the Main Street . Best Costa around for miles - ( and not to be confused with reviews of other Costas along the A5 )

Not all Costa’s are equal and this is one place to benchmark others against. It’s made possible by a lovely team who work very hard, are highly skilled and clearly enjoy each others company as they work together so well. Its always a busy place but you get served quickly and can usually find a table. It all sounds so simple but you only have to visit other cafes to see this place is special.

Coffee was good, as expected. WiFi did not function. No internet connectivity within the restaurant, hence had to go outside to message my friend I had arrived.

TBH my Latte was not hot & tastless Poor

Very disappointed with Costa on the A5. After the first croissant they offered me was old and inedible, I politely asked for an alternative. The staff member made a fuss and gave me a replacement. I said if it’s the same I don’t want it. She said that she wasn’t going to check and so I did. It was the same as the first. I said I need an alternative type of pastry because they were not edible. After leaving me at the till with no explanation, she came back with the manager who said ‘because you have now touched two items I can not replace with a third and I would need to pay for a replacement item! I pulled the croissant apart (which required some force) to which the original staff member was very rude to me. They did eventually relent and give me a refund but the whole scenario spoilt what is usually a lovely morning coffee experience.

Good quality coffee, although quite expensive now. Clean well laid out area with comfortable seating.

Local Costa not open- except drive thru- due to staffing, but this has been a regular occurence over the last 2-3 months. So we went to another and had toast n coffee- but they did not have any butter!!! Coffee not hot enough either!

Enjoyable catch up with bestie today with flat white & hot chocolate. Ordered toast with 2nd round, young Assistant rushed off her feet. After 25 mins went politely to enquire about toast. She was so apologetic, toast arrived within 5 mins with complimentary FOC drinks

Good Coffee along with great Ambiance

Visited today. Tables too close together and when someone eventually cleared the table they left it dirty & did not clean it. I had to clean the table myself. When questioned I was told they were too busy. Hello, there is a pandemic 😡

I had boycotted this location over a year ago due to the rude new manager. KARL is back managing again and happy to say the warm friendly atmosphere has returned with him. Welcome back. Tried the mint frappe and it was awesome.

Popped in today for coffee and cake , whilst out shopping. Lovely friendly staff. The guy who was serving was great. Very chatty and bubbly, made you feel very welcome. Lovely coffee and blueberry muffin.

This Costa was great. Very friendly service with clean tables and plenty of food to choose from. It was very busy when we went but the staff powered through the orders quickly and efficiently. Coffee was nice as expected from a chain. Would recommend and visit again.

Paid for a soya mocha, it was bitter so I returned to the shop to ask for a soya latte to see if it was the chocolate. Took a sip and I felt like they made it so HOT that I would burn my mouth. Never in my life have I had a coffee from Costa being that extreme heat. Normally it's cooler rather than hotter

Very well positioned on the main street. A few tables outside for watching the world go by. My cappuccino made with normal milk was a little flat and disappointing but hubby's, made with coconut milk was lovely and frothy.

I have been in here a few time, it's alway early morning but haven't been in for a while as I alway look in to see who's serving, reason for this is the one girl who works in there don't know her name but she has long blonde hair,and is as miserable as sin not what you want in the morning before work. Anyway this morning I was desperate for a drink and some toast so went in(30/7) and she was on duty. Jesus would a smile and a good morning be to much to ask apparently so. Anyway I order tea and toast received my order and went and found a table , but as I poured my milk into the tea it turned, the milk was off. So went over and said could I please have another tea the milk was off. Well not even an apology , I put the tea on the side and went to finish my toast while I waited. Another guy also bought his coffee back same reason off milk. I sat for a while and thought where's my tea oh she had replaced it fine but had left it on the counter, not even your teas ready. I won't bother again she's just not the sort of person who in my opinion should be working in such a service industry. You know what not many of us like working but come on fine another job if that's how you act. I didn't make a big deal about the off milk it happens but not even an acknowledgment or a sorry about that .

It was overcrowded and the staff were not as helpful as they could have been. I have come to expect more from the Costa coffee company stores.

Typical Costa. Ok - just. Terribly long time to wait even if you just want one coffe . Staff ok, but always seemed rushed. Been there a few times. Don't think I'll go back. There's a better coffee shop - called The Coffee Shop just a few yards away.

Decaff coffee is really poor at all Costas. Too weak, not a patch on Nero's.

It's a formula, they are all pretty much the same - WYSIWYG - it's a little dark and dingy, but it is busy, so what do I know.

Atherstone. Lovely place as they all are. Girls work really hard . Small over crowded place very noisy on Monday and Wednesday when I went in. Not sure about other days I stopped for a hour and half as I had a meeting there. A little to noisy for use. Shame really.

costa coffee places are the same wherever you go, it’s what they do. Try the cortana coffee .. the new addition and really nice

Costa Coffee here is a busy place. When it's busy it is noisy. However it is also a nice place to sit, drink good coffee and watch the colourful world of Atherstone go by. The coffee shop is situated on Atherstone High Street which has interesting ancient history.

Quick friendly service from staff as always

Small Costa on high Street staff are well trained and friendly there are public toilets for customers ideal for a quick visit after shopping in Atherstone have a limited selection of cakes as well as sandwiches do soft drinks as well also sell bottle water.

We use Costa reasonable frequently and this one is one of the better ones. If you want a tasty hot coffee of your choice and perhaps a pleasant cake on the side, this is your place.

As noted in prior review, this location has gone down hill since new manager took over. Twice I was talked down to by her when inquiring about a product they have been out of for over 3 weeks. Locations in Nuneaton and Tamworth have never run out. Last straw was the fact that she wanted to charge me more for a coffee that they have blended for me here since opening. But because their new menu has a coffee close to the blending of my favourite, she refused to charge me the normal price I've paid all this time. A measly. 25 pence has now lost them easily £50 to 60 a month that I used to spend here. Now I spend it in their competitors shops. Perhaps a review on her customer satisfaction skills is needed.

Horrible refit. Mish mash of naff uncomfortable chairs, we don't visit here as often as a result. Totally ruined how it used to be.

I visit here 3 to 4 times a week and the coffee is always awesome.

Something I never noticed about Costa Coffee in Atherstone before I had children was the state of their toilet. Heaven forbid you'd ever need to change a nappy there! In fact, just don't! It's otherwise your standard Costa coffee, with pleasant staff and acceptable quality coffee and food. The tables could always do with a clean (having a kid, I always have my own baby wipes available to clean the table with) but otherwise, it's a pleasant enough experience.
