Proper chippy chips retaining a little oil and crispy battered fish. Huge portions at very low prices. Some places (Whitby) are charging more than three times as much. Friendly service into the bargain.

If you are looking for a traditional fish and chip shop then you need to look elsewhere. Sausages are not pork, instead they are made from chicken and represent dog food. My 5 year old refused to eat it and said it tasted horrible. Fish itself tasted stale, much like the oil had been reused too many times. Overall, not great. One to avoid, especially considering how expensive it is these days.

The best gluten free battered fish I have ever tasted !! I can’t even tell it’s gf. My family have non gf and they say it tastes amazing. Brilliant portions, quick service and tasty food

Massive portions...so one large is enough for 2 people.....fresh and not greasy..

Made a large order for 20 people and the staff had it ready within 20 minutes. Great service!

Nice Chippy, pleasant staff. Very few vegetarian options but they do a decent, and good value portion of chips and the spicy curry sauce is nice.

Always get chips from this place but recently had the worst, hard tasting chios. They had a greyish colour. It’s like they refried old/yesterday chips and served them to me. I won’t be going back there, worsted my money.

Good deal for fish and chips but unusually disappointing today. Fish batter hard and greasy, chips not so soft. I will return.. think it was just an off day. Staff really good and attentive and a good choice of meals and extras .

Freshest and Best Quality Cod and Haddock. Plaice too. All made fresh to order . You can ring ahead with your order . Big Orders for offices and Schools etc are a speciality . Good Potatoes .....

Great place for fish and chips. Made to order, fast friendly service and tasty food. Great value and generous portions. I would recommend trying the spicy curry sauce and battered sausage too. There is also free parking at the front too.

Amazing quality food, relatively cheap. The only thing is that it's quite cold there if you want to eat in. But definitely recommended! I have tried different fish and chips shops around the UK and this one is THE BEST so far, considering the taste and the price!!!!

I recently purchased three regular portions of fish and chips from Queen Vic for my family, and unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The chips were undercooked and tough, and the fish had an nauseating off taste that left us concerned about potential food poisoning. Upon contacting the shop to address this matter, I was met with a dismissive response from the staff. The woman I spoke to seemed to imply that I was attempting to exploit the situation for a refund, which was both insulting and unprofessional. Shockingly, this lack of empathy came from a place where we've been loyal customers, traveling a considerable distance for our meals. Despite being promised a callback from the manager to discuss the issue, I have received no follow-up. To make matters worse, today everyone who consumed the fish and chips is experiencing stomach issues, suggesting a serious lapse in food safety. Given our past positive experiences and the considerable distance we travel to dine at Queen Vic, this incident has been a profound letdown. I would strongly caution others to reconsider spending their money here and explore alternative dining options.

Came in last night for a portion of chips 1.50 she tried charging me £2. When I confronted her she rudely threw half the chips out disgustingly. Poor customer service a rude woman with tattoos.

Walked a fair distance to find this place from town centre as wanted proper chips not fries, only to find entrance inaccessible for wheelchair, but lady kindly put a table & chairs outside for us. Worth the walk! Thank you 😋

Quick friendly service with a smile. Beverly and Haqeem served us. They were polite and chatty. Price was reasonable. We didn't wait long even though we had a big order. We come regularly as the food is delicious.

Despite the fact that I was in a hurry the lady who served me was a Legend and very laid back. I visited around 16:30 and had Jumbo Sausage, Chips and Mushy Peas. OMG 🤤🤤😋😋😋 Delishous wasn't the World I will be returning again at some point.

As far as chippies go, it was surprisingly pretty good. Loads of choice and the quality was very good. I got chips and battered sausage, the sausages are proper chippy sausages too not them chicken sausages that most have started doing. I’d recommend

My fave chippy in Preston - Staff friendly and welcoming and clearly work really hard but manage to smile through it! Plenty of choice, huge portions, tastes great and fantastic value for money. (It is cash only but there is a cash point close by if you forget.)

This is great value local chippy who serve generous portions at a reasonable price. I ordered the fish and chips with peas and curry sauce for under a tenner and it tasted great.

Very delicious... it should be noted that if you eat at the premises they do not provide you with plates or cutlery. They are plastic cutlery and the transport container is the plate. The coffee is already brought to you served with the sugar you want. 🤔

Tried a few times now as everyone said it was good place and it is but it would be much better if the staff actually listened to their customers for once. People being served in front of me asking only for salt and the staff only out vinegar on and don’t listen to orders properly but worst thing I always find is the chips are just cooked and removed. Proper chippy chops should be slightly crispy with a floury inside and more and more shops sell this mediocre chips and people are thinking it’s the norm. I asked for more well done chips 3 times and she still served up the normal cooked chips. Simply refry fit a few minutes longer and they would be great. Prices have skyrocketed for simplest of things like mushy peas or curry sauce etc. I’m aware fish prices are always going up but not everything else has.

Had a cracking chippie tea thanks to the Queen Vic chippie. The staff were full of banter. Barm cakes were soft, fluffy, warm, perfect for a large shovel of chips. The chips were proper chippie chips that got a good covering of salt and vinegar. Curry sauce was great. The cheese on the chips, plentiful. Had a burger, chip butty, 3x portions of chips, 2x curry sauce, for under 20 quid. They only take cash

Been to chippy today, fish was sticking at the lid of box and chips were sticking at the bottom. Chips were not properly done and greasy. Worse fish and chips I ever had.

Visited with the family, sat inside and was served by Kirsty who was lovely and provided excellent service. The fish was fresh as were the chips and the mushy peas were beautiful. Couldn’t fault the experience. Thanks

Found maggots inside my pie!!! Bread was mouldy, rang to complain but was told "nothing can be done".. Terrible customer service. After looking at other reviews I'm clearly not the only one. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Now I’m not usually the one to complain, I work in a busy pub and I know what it’s like running a busy shift. However, we were waiting for 2 meals tonight for 35/40 minutes, nobody knew what they were doing, nobody knew who’s order was who’s, food was waiting around going cold etc. I understand this could be due to lack of experience and knowledge but this can be solved with structured training shifts. So when we got home it was most disappointing when we found the food to be cold. Squid rings cold, sausage cold and over done and gravy was freezing. Staff were friendly but will not be returning.

My go to Chippy in Preston. Good parking outside to collect orders. Portions are huge. I find several chippy's in Preston to be hit or miss but only ever had excellent food from here. Fish is always a good size and perfect flakey texture and batter just right. Chips always have been spot on as has the mushy peas and curry sauce.

Nice food but you need to get with the times and start accepting cashless transactions. Especially in current covid times where people are reluctant to carry cash. Even Preston buses are accepting cashless/contactless transactions nowadays, why can't you?

I have been using here over the past 18 months or so. I have had good and not so good. 20.11.21 went for two servings of fish and chips asking for plenty of vinegar and red salt. Got to the car just up the road to 'enjoy ' them. Opened up the box to find two fish yes both of them was so hard they was inedible. It was like they had been double battered to heat them up making them rock hard and the fish inside all dried could not even eat a piece from it. The chips was white and no taste, I think they also forgot about the seasoning. If this is what you are now serving to people you will lose many customers. If the shop had not had quite a few customers in I would have brought them back.

Large portion but barely edible. Ordered sausage chips and mushy peas. The chips were covered in the peas to the extent that the whole thing became a soggy homogeneous mess of wet green chip slurry. Pop an unexpected beef sausage on top, the content of which was like a slightly gritty meat paste, and hey presto. £3.50 worth of lunch regret. More than half went in the bin. Yuck.
