Amonbagh Takeaway in Preston

The service is spot on every time. The food tastes amazing from the get go and very reasonably l priced. For the past 5 years this is our go to place for Indian/South Asian cuisine and the flavour never fails to impress. The portion size is great, the balti/homemade gourmet/specialty dishes that we have experimented with always leave us coming back for more.

Not use this place for the last year so cant comment on how it's been it that time but iv just had a delivery and me and my fussy son both agree it was the best curry we've had in a long while and the salad was another level as far as takeaway goes everything taste fresh n clean. 5 🌟 all the way

Omg - this was very bad. 2 starters, 2 mains. Quick delivery c £32. Meat samosas - bog standard, 2 small ones. Onion bhaji good size pretty good (2). Salads and chutney incredibly small. One chappatti - mouldy smelling and under cooked. Both mains - Rogan Josh and dupiaza were not freshly made, all very watered down and no evidence of fresh spices. Rice ok. The worst takeaway I can remember in Preston.

Last time we went a few months ago we went in and placed our order we sat on the seats waiting and the seats were filthy as was the floor and counter. When we got home the standard of the food was nothing like what we were used to. The chicken was rubbery and tasted like it was out of a tin. You also never get a receipt so I am sure that the money goes straight into the back pocket and doesn't go through the till. This place is well and truly past its best and not surprised they got a 1 star hygiene rating. They won't be boasting about that rating considering they liked to broadcast how they had had 5 star ratings for 6 years in a row. I guarantee there will be no mention now of there hygiene rating in the window. This place needs closing as the hygiene has gone and so has the quality of the food.

Our first takeaway from Amonbagh and definitely will not be the last .very tasty and hot and fast delivery 10/10. Chef special excellent.

First time we ordered food from there what a fantastic meal three of us ate starter prawn pury the best I have ever had my nephew , eats out a lot he said that this was the best takeaway he's had it's the first and not the last time we will be visiting , great value great food well done and thankyou

Wow wow....First time ordering and didn't disappoint. Lovely selection of everything! Even down to dipping sauces for the Poppadoms. And you guys even rang me to suggest having a curry sauce with it, and I am very glad you did. The balti recommended was amazing! Will definitely use you again. This is the first time Ive posted a review. The takeaway appeared very clean and the staff very pleasant and I am quite partial to a curry. I was tempted to go for the much box meal due to seeing some good reviews. The meal came in a large pizza box, which when opened looked like a dustbin of left overs, very dry, appeared to be bought in kebabs and just heated up, the onions bhagies were that dry, black and they just fell apart. although there was plenty of it the quality was shocking. The curry sauce was the only good thing about it. Avoid the munch box meal and just stick to the curries.

Takeaway was huge and delicious. Delivered promptly, excellent service.

Always wonderful food and service

Been a regular for years, never have I ever had a bad or even any kind of off food, excellent food at excellent prices, owners are excellent too. The quality of ingredients is 2nd to none. Restaurant quality in takeaway form, if looking for a proper decent Indian meal then this is the place to eat from.

Food is always fantastic best Indian in person

Ordered a veg biryani and cauliflower pakora. The overall experience was that the food was bland and was of average quality. Maybe it was because it was a very busy Saturday night and they didn’t have the time to really make sure the food was high enough quality, I don’t know? The other people in our party reported that their food was similarly average and lacking flavour too. I doggy bagged half my food but I’m afraid it’ll be going in the bin. Sorry but not impressed.

Ordered the munch box, looked good on the photos. 25£. Most of it tasted dry and reheated. Poor quality meat, no seasoning or flavour. Paid for an additional tikka masala sauce and it tasted like water.

What a disappointment. Its the service I am talking about, not the food and I mustn't be the only one around Preston with this problem. In the last four deliveries my order has had something missing, tonight it was lamb chops. When I phoned to say that they had missed them they told me they had to wait for the driver to arrive back at the shop and then they would phone me back. Why? I don't know but I am still waiting 3 hours later. 😩

Never fails on what they deliver

This take away used to be one of the best. Ordered one last night and it was rubbish. Totally lacking in flavour. And a couple of the dishes were vile. Very disappointed .

Tastiest in Preston, well worth the money

Been coming here for years always been excellent. Not last night, sooo disappointed. Naan bread burnt and hard, no side salad to go with Shami, and chicken in curry was quite tough ☹

Disappointed isn't the word we use to love this place but burnt nuggets tasteless chicken and my massala sauce was really really sweet worse 50 quid spent.

I have always wanted to try this place for some time after seeing people comment about how good it was, unfortunately I was left disappointed 😕 the curry was very watery and not as flavoursome as expected and the naan bread was freshly made but again lacked any taste of flavour, however the onion bhaji was one of the best that I've tried in all the indian takeaways that ive tried which does take some beating. Unfortunately 2 parts of my order where also missing, after travelling from the other side of preston near Farrington to collect the meal I didn't want to be travelling back to collect the missing items. Am glad I tried the food here but can't me ordering from here again Unfortunately.

Always amazing food and service from this place every time! I've ordered here more times than I can remember and is the only Indian takeaway I will go to. Front of house is always kind and welcoming, helps you with dish choice if unsure on what to have and will accommodate any request you have on the order no problem. Can't recommend enough!

This may be the best food in all of Preston. Not only is it the best takeaway Indian, it beats out almost all of the restaurants in the area. The prices are reasonable, the spices are strong, and they have a humongous menu with dishes that are not commonly offered. They can also make your food extremely spicy, or extremely mild. Their naan is perfect, their pilaf is soft. Overall, this is a one stop shop for your takeaway curry! Don't be afraid to order stuff you've never heard of, everything is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Ordered food at 8.30 and arrived at 10.30, took 2 hrs. Have an email to confirm this. They completely ignored the fact that it took 2 hours and lied about food been ordered later. They are misleading and not trustworthy. When food eventually arrived it was tasteless with no flavour, nothing to do with ordering mild or hot. Never been so disappointed in a takeaway that was very expensive and supposed to be gourmet. My main was a Medium Tikka King Prawn Balti Massala and was completely tasteless, we ended up throwing it all away in frustration. Raised my complaint with takeaway and can't say they made much effort, very blaise attitude and ignorant.

We ordered one of the banquet meals for two from Amonbagh takeway again last night; once again the food was outstanding, very very tasty, cooked to perfection with excellent portions of everything, we even saved some for today there was that much. Well done Amonbagh on serving us another 1st class meal, your reputation and superb reviews are well deserved!!

Food was ok, service and other aspects were terrible. Better options available. Ordered pickup for set time, had to wait 30 mins. No apparent concern for social distancing for customers. Was reluctantly offered a partial refund but due to the attitude and to protect my family I wouldn't step through the door to collect it.

Me and partner have visited Amonbagh countless times over the years and had always found the food delicious and the service great, but since moving to further away hadn't visited in a while. Last night we ordered after I finished work, as neither of us had eaten all day decided as a treat to have Amonbagh delivered, we ordered on their website at around 10:10pm (while there website said they were still open till 11pm) and sat to waiting, as we'd received a confirmation email almost instantly! As the time creeped on, we were starting to get a suspicion that we were going to receive the food, we tried calling at 11:20pm (well after the 59 minute delivery time stated on the website) but got no reply. If they were unable to process the order, it would have been better to receive an email saying that they weren't able to accept it at that time than leave us there expecting some food to be delivered

I called in tonight, don't eat many takeaways, but had a craving for a chicken tikka naan kebab. It wasn't on the menu but they were more than happy to supply the tikka & a curry sauce and naan with a nice little salad for me to put together. The tikka was lovely, plenty of chicken. The naan was a great size, and the sauce supplied was very nice medium heat. To be honest the meal could have made two kebabs but being ravenous I managed to shift the lot, but tasting great also helped. Great friendly service and was ready to collect in no time at all. 👍

Best indian takeaway especially for vegan options

First time we have ordered from here, we usually go to cinnamon spice where has always been our favourite indian. I placed order online at 6.05pm went to collect from the shop at 6.30 waited 10 minutes but that was fine. The delivery driver gave me some sanitiser to put on while i was waiting. The food was amazing there was no grease whatsover in the madras curry we ordered and the meat was tender, chips was crispy and fluffy, rice was fluffy, samosas and bhajis was fresh and crispy. Everything all in all was lovely 5 stars from us we will be going there from now on. Thank you very much

I am new to this area and looking for takeaway with high standard and vegetarian and vegan. Just ring them they will cater for your preference! The lady I just spoke to was amazing in suggestions and also open to my preference! Top marks and that is just in telephone customer service! It’s okay but nothing special , the fact that it is considered the best Indian in Preston does a disservice to other Indian takeaways. I have had my fair share of Indians and this wouldn’t be my go to. It’s not bad it’s just not great

Read all the rave reviews about this place and although we're out of the delivery area we were prepared to travel to try it out. Really disappointing. Ordered a mild and medium curry, both were really bland, no flavours at all and no hint of any spice. The spicy poppadom had the most flavour. Samosa and onion bahji were good but nothing worth going back for. Shame as there is no good Indian near us, we continue our hunt!for a decent one to become a regular.

Not had a takeaway in 3 months and saw this takeaway had amazing reviews so thought I’d give it a try. I was not disappointed. The food was lovely. I ordered online called to find out the time for collection and it was spot on. 10 out of 10 for collection in these trying times. I felt really safe with the social distancing put in place. Hand sanitizer as you go in and they even open the door. Highly recommend

I've eaten from here before always been very good . Tonight was different I ordered my meal online as usual then go to collect. 18.15 I ordered the meals . Within seconds your is being dealt with. I leave the house half an hour later get to Amonbagh . waited another 40 minutes for the the food get home to nice hot plates just as well . Food was loop warm ??? Nan bread was cool parts of the meal where missing too . Reordered the the items then trying to charge me again. Not good service at all don't care not bothered we have your money good bye never again

Very poor tonight £23 for Lamb Spinich and a chicken kabab which was cold and full of fat and expensive. Nann was burnt it all went in the bin. Gutted

Called in tonight for the first time, they were extremely busy, I ordered the munch box £21.85, came with sides of salads and dips, it was huge, could have fed 4 comfortably, I will certainly be back to try other items on their menu.

Tried here last night for the first time. I honestly dont know what all the fuss is about. Was very disappointed after ready all the rave reviews. Ordered online, which dosent tell you how long before you can collect your order. Was an hour before it was ready. It was luke warm, mixed byriani was mostly prawns and chicken no lamb at all. Curries were very dry. Sorry i wont return

Half of the order missing can't get back in touch due to no phone lines and not traveling from Penwortham to complain ordered chicken tikka got prawn something, ordered 4 poppadoms got 3, ordered spring rolls didn't get them ordered two plain naan breads and got something else, got chicken pakoras which is didn't order and other stuff I didn't order, order was placed at 18:03 and didn't get the food until 19:40, was first time visiting and won't be going back, see enclosed pics I replied to the owners comment and haven't had a reply, here is my reply Hi, Thanks for taking time to reply to my review on Google maps. I understand that you was busy on new years eve, but I also waited over 1 hour for my food, it was promised to me at 7pm but I didn't get until 730, which I would accept, but when you get only two. Items your ordered correct it very disappointing, to make matters worse I can't stand prawns so the completely ruined my new year as I then had to find somewhere else to get something to eat from which was another 23 quid at domino's. I have no idea how you can rectify the matter I haven't really thought about it but I'm open to suggestion, but has it stands my attitude is to never return, I don't like being negative and as you can see by all my reviews I do like to be positive So it's over to you. To anybody wanting to be disappointed this is the most over rated Indian I have stepped foot through , forgot something of my order over priced , got it home and the keema rice had hardly any meat in , the curry that I ordered wanted to be medium spiced , and it came mild , the naan was tough to chew through , I rung up to explain that I wasn’t happy and they was only willing to give back a percentage of the bill as some of the food was touched. As I entered the restaurant i also noticed there was a build up of curry all over the splash back of the kitchen were the chefs was cooking. 🤢

Been awhile now as my once top notch Indians have seemed to slip off the quality step. Amonbagh I tried few weeks ago and been back twice more. Each time excellent and reminded me when my old haunts attained the same standard of moorish taste.

Best Indian food not only in Preston but entire Lancashire. Great quality and taste. Despite being a takeaway they will give even big restaurants run for their money. The staff are very friendly and caring. They can adjust the dish as per your liking of "hot"ness.

Such a fantastic takeaway, you really can't get any better in the Preston area and I have tried a few. Staff are really friendly and take time out to help you choose a dish to suit your palette.

Second time order wrong charged but didn't receive what ordered or paid for. I was going to let it go the first time but it's a joke. Called tgem no offer of refund just we will sort you out with main meal. Not good enough. We've been going for years.
