i had a great time when we hired a room for only £50, for my mums 60th. the staff were lovely and welcoming and couldn’t have been more attentive. the hot drinks were so refreshing and the wide variety of cakes made it hard to decide between something so yummy to something even yummier! thank you for the great experience and we will be back soon !

2 months ago we had lovely little family party at the Queen of Herts and decided that we would ask Andrea to do the catering for our much larger 50th Wedding Anniversary Afternoon Tea Party offsite at a larger venue. We asked if they could bring their own china cups, saucers, and cake stands so that we could recreate some of their ambience. Our thanks to Sarah who bought all our selected baked goods, grazing boards and china and tidied everything away at the end. She was could not have been more helpful and friendly. There have been many compliments from our guests and a consensus that it was a lovely party to which the Queen of Herts played a major part. Thank you!

Great comedy night on Tuesday. We enjoyed a snack of bruschetta and a drink pre start downstairs and were looked after by friendly owner Andrea and her team. Very cosy atmosphere upstairs . The compère was very funny and drew the audience in immediately . All three comedians were good and lots of laughter. Plenty of breaks so drinks could be topped🍷 Very good value night . Highly recommend The Queen of Hearts

A really delightful tea room with lovely attention to detail in the decor, fabulously friendly staff and some really nice touches to how the present your meal (we loved choosing tea by smell!) Our afternoon tea was very fresh and tasty, the scones were the best ever and the staff went out of their way to make it a lovely experience. Definitely recommend.

This is a fab little place. I have regularly been to the monthly jazz and comedy nights, always a great fun night. Everyone is so friendly and Andrea and Neil are so welcoming. I can’t recommend highly enough and will be back.

My wife and I had afternoon tea at the Queen of Herts a few weeks ago. It was a delightful experience. We were made very welcome and had a lovely selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. I'm uploading a photograph which will hopefully appear alongside this review so you can see for yourselves! We also chose Queen of Herts to provide catering for our son's 11th birthday party. They provided some lovely platters of sandwiches, quiche, fruit and salad. They were very well presented and carefully arranged to allow for vegetarians. The ordering process was very straightforward and helpful and we had a lot of choice. On the day I was able to collect straightaway and everything was assembled so as to make for easy and problem free transportation. Recommended!

Had a lovely afternoon with the family to celebrate a 70th Birthday. Enjoyed the afternoon tea. Some of us had toasted sandwiches. Made to feel very welcome and staff very helpful and friendly.

Afternoon tea - had a really great experience here for my 30th birthday! The room decor was very cool (all alice in wonderland themed) and the food was great. The room was a perfect size for me and my friends and the price was valuable compared to other afternoon teas I looked up. The sandwiches and cakes were fab and tasted delicious and they even brought out some more of the cakes for people to try as everyone got different cakes! My only caveat was we felt there could have been a higher ratio of savory sandwiches to sweet treats. An all round great experience - thank you so much to Andrea and the team who were so accommodating!!

Took a chance on The Queen of Herts for my father's wake and Andrea provided the perfect setting for our small family gathering. The sandwiches were perfect, just the right balance of bread to filling and delicious home baked cakes and scones. Andrea made us very welcome. We recently hosted our daughter’s third birthday in the Alice room upstairs and it was just perfect! The Queen of Herts couldn’t have been more accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly on the day. The children all had amazing rainbow bagel afternoon teas (including going out of their way to ensure any allergy restrictions were catered for!) and us grown ups enjoyed some delicious scones. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Queen of Herts to anyone - it was such a unique way to celebrate a birthday. Thank you to Andrea and the team xxx

Met a few friends for afternoon tea/coffee. Which is well worth a visit.Lovely cakes good selection. Not many places were you have china cups and tea in china pot. Fantastic little place.

Mum and I had a wonderful time at The Queen of Herts. It was mum's birthday and I surprised her with a lovely afternoon tea with champagne! Andrea was so welcoming and friendly. Wanted something for my mother’s 85th that I knew she would really enjoy, and took my sister along as well. The Queen of Hearts ended up being absolutely perfect. The afternoon tea itself was magnificent. All very fresh, tasty, and a really nice selection. Lots of it as well, we didn't quite manage to finish it all. We were greeted with smiles and from the off felt genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere in the place was lovely, we even chatted with a couple of the other patrons. The whole setup was exactly what you'd hope for from an English afternoon tea. Something that impressed us right from the start, in addition to the warm welcome, was that my sister was interested in one of the unusual fruit teas, but wasn't sure if she’d like it. We were told they’d make her a pot and if she found she didn't like it then it would be simply be swapped for one she did (at no charge). Now that’s great service. It was the little things though that took this from just being great to being truly exceptional. For instance, our lovely waitress, Amber (I think, sorry if that’s wrong) was really attentive, spoke beautifully, and always had a lovely smile. For instance, she checked if anyone wanted sweetener, or if we wanted a box to take home the extra cake. I hate asking for a doggy-bag, so it being offered upfront was a very nice touch. Never had to ask for anything, she was wonderfully proactive. We chatted with the lovely owner, Andrea, quite a bit, what a lovely lady. She really has perfected everything about her business, we all couldn't fault it for even the smallest thing. I never write these reviews normally. However, I was so impressed with our experience, and felt so welcomed by them, that in this case I just had to. I don't live in the UK but I’ll be back there next time I’m in the country. My mother and sister, who do live locally, are already thinking about their next visit. Thanks Andrea and Amber. You really made my mother’s birthday.

This amazing little tea house was the perfect quintessential spot for afternoon tea. The whole area is so adorably historic. We haven't stopped raving about how perfect it was. The customer service is second to none. The homemade food was delicious and tea was exquiste. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you haven't been here you are missing out!

We visited for afternoon tea for my Dad’s 90th birthday having read the amazing reviews, all of which are fully deserved. We booked to have a 16th Birthday afternoon tea in one of the private rooms at The Queen of Herts' and were so pleased we did 🎉 Andrea was amazing! Was so friendly and adapted sandwich choices to suit all ages present. The service was outstanding, nothing was too much. The Gluten free option was as similar to the muggle version as possible so I didn't feel I was missing out at all. Tea choices were exciting. Thank you!
