The Quarter Deck in North Norfolk

Wow, micropub vibe with excellent beers and unbelievable decent music. Bar person on my visit- Logan was amazing, very switched on to the craft/ indie/ decent beer scene and reflected in the choice here. It's a great addition to Sheringham and will come back here first on my next visit. I like beer, and love it here..!

I decided I should have a taste of local beer before leaving North Norfolk and was very glad to stop in to The Lines End. The barman was very helpful and I found a delicious hoppy IPA. This really seems like a nice, quiet place to go for a drink and food (I didn’t have anything to eat, but the other reviews are great). They also have fun events like Lego night and “drink and draw”. If I lived in Sheringham I’d probably become a regular.

An excellent range of well kept beers and staff that knew their beers...along with some excellent music! Thanks Logan and colleagues.

We decided to get off the CH1 bus from Cromer to Wells & The Lines End caught our eye. A welcoming chap behind the bar & a pint of Bitburger for me a 175ml Lopez e Haro white Rioja for my wife - we were relieved of £12.85 for 2 quality well served drinks which we enjoyed. We had a stroll down Sheringham’s main street to look for any alternatives of comparable quality. I even poked my head through the door of another establishment only to be greeted by the F word: FOSTERS 🤮 - we headed back to The Lines End & enjoyed a couple more rounds of exactly the same quality drinks - the very top end of my committed Yorkshireman price range but Bitburger is an excellent German lager & my wife last enjoyed Lopez e Haro when we were in Spain 🇪🇸 earlier this year. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Italian night. Well, we enjoyed two lovely pasta dishes, a tagliatelle and a linguine followed by a tiramisu and a panacotta. All were first rate. Menu disappointed though with 4 main dishes and a few expensive sides. Service was amateurish I’m afraid and starters/tapas non-existent/uninspiring.

Such a wonderful place to eat and relax. Had the most fabulous meal and attentive service. We came for my birthday meal with our two teenage children. We had three dishes each, which probably could have been two, as they were lovely sized tapas dishes. The food was amazing, especial the Crab Thermidor, and prawns. The cocktails were as ever delicious! Thank you for a wonderful eating experience, we will for sure be back.

Dined on Sat night with 6 loud women. The staff were attentive, food amazing. Small plates with gf options much appreciated. Good wine selection and an interesting Norwich whisky. Will be back.

People who are passionate about their food and produce worderful, unusual and delicious dishes. We had the tapas, which, we were warned, were "English portions" about double the normal size. We still ate every mouthful. We are only in the area for a week, but will definitely be visiting again.

Eclectic tapas style plates all of them scrumptious, lovely staff, good selection of nicely priced wine and beers and whoever is in charge of the iPod knows their tunes. I love this place.

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. I’m not going to describe the food because it was all good and there’s an awesome selection of craft beer in the fridge. The team were charming. We left sated and very happy plus we didn’t feel fleeced.

Excellent Tapas with great portion sizes

Delicious food, full of creativity with the combination of flavors and a great concept of sharing dishes. This way, each of us managed to try most of the menu. All amazing, plus a good selection of wines and craft beers.

Recently moved to upper sheringham and was recommended this place. Totally lived up to my expectations Excellent food and service. Be warned portion size was large so don't order too much. Lamb delicious as were potato bravas, the mushroom dish and the salad. Would highly recommend to anyone who would like excellent tapas. Will be back SOON.

Booked for 12 people for a Christmas celebration. We had numerous food requirements which always daunts me. The restaurant caters for everyone, the menu is varied and the portions are plentiful. The staff, service and atmosphere were spot on. The food, it’s presentation and quality were superb. We had such a wonderful evening. I can highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Always a pleasure to return. Spot on tapas style menu, seasonal and well balanced. Service is great and the atmosphere accommodates couples on date night through to celebration group nights out. Great addition to Sheringham.

This is such a lovely place to chat, chill and chomp. Lovely staff, great music and the food was spot on. Who knew baby kale could be so tasty or a broccoli stem could have so much vavavoom? Love it, long overdue catch up with friends and I'm glad it was there. Highly recommended! (They even did fries!)

First visit. We saw a sign for the craft beer and wines and popped in to have a look. The smell of the food was excellent so we stopped for lunch. It's a tapas menu, not a massive selection but what we had we enjoyed and washed it down with some craft beer. Pardon peppers, chicken schnitzel, fava bean dip and calamari. Portion sizes were very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We also purchased some beers on the way out.

Generous portions and great value

Called in on Thursday lunchtime with four friends for a quick lunch. Good selection of meals on the menu, food was served quickly and was delicious and cooked to order.

We had excellent brunch, which was all good quality ingredients and served by friendly polite staff. Nice outdoor area just opposite the station if you like old train atmosphere.

A lovely evening was spent here. We couldn't fault the food and the portions were sizeable! We ordered five plates and that was perfect for the two of us. The croquettes were our highlight but we really loved the lightly battered aubergine dish especially. P.s. the adjacent beer and wine to take home is a nice touch.

Excellent service, fantastic host. Great touch with bottle of chilled water on the table. Had the full English breakfast eith scrambled eggs, in my opinion the best breakfast in sheringham, taking into account cost , variety and portion size(large). Will definitely return.

We ate here when visiting Sheringham. The food was excellent, portion sizes very good too. The staff all friendly and attentive. We will definitely eat here again..

Best food we have had in years and we eat out a lot. Great choice of beers and the most mouth watering selection of fresh food. Highly recommend and will certainly return when next in the area...

Day trip to sheringham so called in by chance, so glad we did food was absolutely delicious reasonably priced , staff very friendly , and they are dog friendly. Would thoroughly recommend this eatery , would certainty visit again

Had two amazing meals at the Quarter Deck and couldn't have been happier. The pork belly on the dinner menu was outstanding - actual heaven - as was the macerated rhubarb. The Crab Caesar salad on the brunch menu was also delicious. The staff was super helpful and they had a great selection of wines and beers. Will definitely go again when I'm next in town

Lovely place with lovely decor, the food was delicious. We had brunch, great variety of dishes it was hard to choose.

Underwhelmed! This is our third visit. We visited again on Sunday 16 July for breakfast and was not impressed. Full English was poor (and expensive) compared to other local cafe restaurants but the egg florentine with haddock was excellent. Quarterdeck should offer a large or small/medium full English. The portion size was just too large so theyneed to adjust. The bacon was nice and crisp but the Papworth sausages were anemic looking and solid hard instead of being plump and moist. The mushrooms were cooked in garlic - which tainted the rest of the food. Although they looked undercooked, the sausages weren't, but just didn't look appetising or taste good and didn't do justice to the local butcher supplier. Service was provided by two men and was very poor and disjointed with a clear communication problem between them. It took ages to get our bill (the Kenny Everett (no offence intended) looking host forgot our request) and they also weren't able to take payment at the table. Payment could not be divided up equally between our group and instead, had to be billed on a per item basis. The whole place needs to step up their act. Our first visit in 2022 just after they opened was superb for food and service but on a second visit we asked for a baby highchair and they had none (so are missing out on a key segment of the market). Their attitude then was, take it or leave it, we don't have highchairs and can't provide a service to you, so we left and they lost custom. The Quarterdeck doesn't do justice to our favourite local bar next door (The Gangway) which also owns it. They have to improve their offering and raise their customer service.

I chose this place because of the excellent craft beer selection - but I was blown away by the food. It’s the little things that made it so good. Amazing bread, dressings on salads etc were next-level. Would v much recommend.

Dropped in for a quick snack and stayed for 75 minutes! Food is excellent , service was very good. Have booked a table for some ‘English tapas’!

Probably the best vegan full breakfast in Sheringham. It's very very good.

Had a wonderful evening tonight with great food and wine. Staff were excellent. Ordered 9 tapas between 4 of us. Large portions so plenty for everyone. Everything looked and tasted lovely. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Found this place by accident after arriving in Sheringham by steam train from Holt! The menu looked really interesting so after a couple of hours walking around we decided to give it a go. Staff were very welcoming and very helpful in dealing with my wife's foods intolerances. She had avocado on toasted ciabatta with chorizo and grilled tomato and I had the fish finger bap and chips. Both meals were freshly prepared with the best ingredients and absolutely delicious. I had a pint of Ampersand brewery IPA which was one of the best bets I've ever tasted. All in all we were very happy with our meal and left very satisfied. Highly recommended.

Popped into The Quarter Deck out of curiosity with my wife and I'm glad we did, as it did not disappoint. On entering we were warmly greeted by a member of staff who showed us to our table. They allowed us time to view the menu which had some really good food options available. After about 10 mins we gave our order Smoked Salmon with dill crème fraîche on sour dough toast. My wife went for the smoked haddock on a potato rosti both were £10. Good value for money I'd say. With a Latte and 2/3 of beer the total cost was just over £26. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and as the morning went on it became increasingly busy. A lovely little bottle shop is attached selling various beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks too. Overall, a great experience and well worth the visit if you're in Sheringham for the day. The train station is a 5 mins walk and the North Norfolk railway is less than 2 mins. Or you can get the bus as this stops right outside.

Food was lovely, great flavours. All different types of tapas. Food and drink reasonably priced. Staff happy and attentive. We will definitely be back.

It’s quite average. The dishes are not quite right for Tapas. They seem a bit lost in some ways. They are not worth the money yet but I think they might get there in the end. The Suffield Arms has similar prices and is far superior in every way. We also felt very rushed, as did the couple sat next to us. I would probably go back in a year or so to see how it’s improved.

Very noisy, sadly food made me feel queasy all night although it tasted fine and looked good, just too oily.

Had a lovely meal here ! Massive selection of small plates and we loved every single one, fantastic wine also. I’m sure we will be back on our next trip to Sheringham!

Popped in just after 3pm, very quiet but fully booked later. Good tapas, wine fair priced for a decent bottle of rose.

Can't recommend this new restaurant enough, truly amazing food and lovely efficient staff

The Quarter Deck is well worth a visit. The food is beautifully cooked and presented. The bottled beer is first class ,with the option of having it at room temperature or from the fridge. Very good music as well. I understand The Quarter Deck only opened on Wednesday this week. Based on our visit tonight it has every chance of success. Sheringham is very fortunate to have this place
