Micro pub with a rotating selection of real ales, ciders and a small selection of bottled lagers. Small and friendly, no music or TV screens just good conversation. Dog friendly. Small area outside (seasonal, not Oct-March) with a few tables for when the weather allows. No food, but happy for you to bring in food from local takeaways - the North kebab house is about 10 metres away and does great kebabs & pizzas. Rare to find a pub happy for you to eat takeaway on the premises. Now under new management, but same approach with the rotating beers and friendly atmosphere

Great place in North Walsham. The landlady was very helpful and let us try the ciders before we ordered. Lovely outside seating and very reasonably priced.

The Hop In is THE real ale pub in North Walsham, and probably this part of North Norfolk, it doesn't serve food, it does serve beer. That's it.

An absolute little gem! Real Ales and ciders, great service, and atmosphere all help to make this little pub one visit 😀 👍🏻 You can even bring your local takeaway meal in to enjoy with your drink!

Small but perfectly formed. I bloody love it. Crisp, perfect real ale and proper pork scratchings served in a glass. That's about it. And it's bloody lovely. If you enjoy real ale, you cant afford to miss this place. Cheers!

Several nice cask beers it's in the 2023 Good beer guide, Julie behind the bar last night knowledgeable, thank you.. and interesting chats with the locals. Very worth a visit... places like this need all the support they can get... well done.

Very friendly micropub, the staff member was engaging and the beer range was local-focused, but varied and well-kept. It's clear that the regulars are pleased to drink here and keen for the place to succeed as we were made to feel very welcome and engaged by them too

Our first visit to the hop in was brilliant, friendly people, excellent selection of ales ,no loud music or tv screens your able to sit and talk, struck up conversation with people we'd never met before ,definitely be coming back.

Charming little place. Snug and friendly - with good beer.

A small real ale outlet offering six ales plus a limited range of foreign bottles. Apart from the normal range of snacks there is no food. We had some sausage rolls from the local bakery and there was no problem taking them in to eat. There was also a range of take away menus available to order. Discount for Camra members.

Very sad to update this review... Came in on a visit to what is/was the best pub in North Walsham to find the upstairs room given over to some kind of right wing/immigrant and poor people bashing function. I expected better!

What a lovely micro pub and so clean

Its a real ale bar. Its small but can extend outside if the weather allows. They sell real ale and some wine but no spirits. The quality of the drink is first class

The hop Inn is a beer cafe not a pub. Luckily for us it serves very good beers! Downstairs was full and upstairs empty at 8 Ish on a Saturday. It got busier and the upstairs atmosphere better by 9. Metaphysical pub quiz starter question for 10 points: what makes a pub a pub?

My favourite place for a beer in the North Walsham/Norfolk area! Good ever changing ale and cider selection, all a decent price. Lots of charm, with friendly staff and customers. Lovely to sit outside in the summer with a pint!

Friendly, well kept selection of real ales, porters and ciders. also wines and coffee. This is a micro mini gem of a bar found at the end of the market cross of North Walsham Norfolk. Though appearing tiny from the frontage ,they provide seating on the upper floor for approx 20

If ya love cider and beer and a quiet chat this is the place to go

Great little pub run by enthusiasts, catering, dare I say, for the more discerning drinker. Usually around six ales and six ciders served (all on gravity). The ciders are sourced from national producers, whereas the ales are predominantly East Anglian in origin, with a few brought in from further afield. Beer condition is invariably excellent, there is always helpful advice on hand, not to mention samples, for those requiring guidance. Various continental bottled beers and wine are available, bar snacks are limited, but customers are welcome to order and eat takeaway food from several nearby restaurants (plates provided). There's no Wi-Fi, no music/games, but it's a great place to sit and chat. The staff and clientele are friendly, and I'd certainly recommend it if you find yourself in North Walsham and thirsty; with an hour to kill in decent company, craving a pint of something different and interesting in front of you. A fabulous little micro pub in a lovely North Norfolk town. Great real ales and ciders. No music,no machines etc just talking, like pubs used to be.

A lot of potential but is a little soulless to be honest. Definitely one to check out but with a little effort this could be a real charmer.

Popped in for a quick pint. Friendly locals and landlord. Be Hopping in for another pint when I'm that why.

Had a lovely, relaxing evening in a friendly atmosphere. Tried 3 of the 4 real ales available and all in decent condition. Well worth a visit!

Beware of ordering the stronger beers, they will make you unsteady on your feet! Brilliant little pub, just right for the town.
