Came here for the brewery tour yesterday with some mates. Couldn't fault it from start to finish, tour, beers, food all outstanding! Can't wait to come back absolute hidden gem.

Really nice place, I had a pint followed by a flight of 3 thirds - this cost just £6 which I thought was a bargain and all the beers were very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only frustrating thing is it's a little bit in the middle of nowhere and a good 20 minute walk from town. Would definitely recommend though.

Hi we went there for an anniversary for the pub. The place was clean and tidy. We had some of the barbeque which was ok. The service was good. Generally this place has a nice feel for it and is a great setting in these old military buildings.

Dropped in for a couple drinks with friends later in the evening. The atmosphere is friendly but not overbearing and the quality of the beer is excellent. I really valued the professionalism of the staff who were both knowledgeable and passionate about the massive range of beers they have on tap. In my opinion it’s well worth a visit at the end of a day… quality!

Being situated in the grounds of the Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower, the name of this business suddenly made total sense. We initially went there simply to sample one or two of their beers. However, once we had tasted their excellent ‘Hop & Hooker’ amber ale, we decided not to try anything else . . . . although I’m sure, they would’ve been as equally tasty. Everything about this business had clearly been thought about in advance and consequently the finished product was pretty much perfect in every way. Fantastic staff, wonderful beer, simple but well executed menu, and a really nice venue both inside and out. We will 100% come here again in the future.

Lovely spot for dinner with a view across the harbour. Great food at a reasonable price, and my husband tells me the beer was excellent. As visitors to Gosport we enjoyed watching boats large and small come into the harbour on a summers evening whilst enjoying dinner.

Found this gem after a stroll along the heritage way. Stopped for a coffee. Excellent late. Breakfast smelt just too good to miss and it didn’t disappoint. Great tasting sausages bacon cooked just the way I love it. Crisp not sloppy. If there’s a down side it’s the fact they need more staff. Long wait for breakfast but well worth it. If you need alcohol it’s a bar with an excellent choice of beers etc

Dropped in for a swift pint, been meaning to go in for a while. Not disappointed, great location with outside seating with views over the harbour. Warm welcome on arrival and beers explained. Wish I had had the tasting flight and try 3 different ales, next visit !. Will be returning to stay longer and enjoy a few more ales.

Waterside within modest sized refurbished heritage building inside grounds of Explosion Museum . Seating inside and out.Views across to the aircraft carrier berths. Limited menu. Reasonable coffee / soft drinks. Yes,lots of beers "on tap" but I do not drink beer and everyone was driving anyway!

Found this place whilst looking for a local pub in Gosport. Really friendly service a tasty food. The beer was exceptional, and worth a drive just for a pint. Staff were well educated about the ales. Had a small taster of the different ones, before choosing a favoured pint. Will definitely be going back there!

Awesome craft ales bar. Amazing location on the edge of the harbour. Indoor and outdoor space. The star however is the range of craft ales and ciders. Usually at least 12 most brewed in house. Paddles available to try a few! Food also available.

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon to sample the craft ales. Plenty of attentive and knowledgeable bar staff. Beers were really tasty and clearly well kept and went down a treat. Very tasteful décor in a lovely old building. Picked a table overlooking the harbour and listened to some pretty cool background music. We shall definitely return, especially in the summer, when I imagine it will be buzzing.

I have been waiting some time since moving locally to try the amazing ales I had been told about and seen promoted. This is a pub that brews and serves its own ales. It is not since the 1970s that I have been served a beer with gas, and certainly never an ale. Whoever it is responsible for the serving of the ale has no idea of how to do so. The whole point of ale is that it is served by natural pressure. Yes I saw it being dispensed but assumed it was through an electric pump and certainly never thought it was being dispensed by means of gas. I was told all their beers were served the same way. I was charged £5 for a product that I could not, and certainly didn’t want to drink. No discerning ale drinker would want anything to do with their product if it cannot be served properly. To sum up, a poorly served product which was overpriced.

The diverse drinks - and the customer service - were all top-notch (as per usual), and whereas we've previously had less-than-ideal food - hence our having planned to go elsewhere that day - we were staggered by the size, the look, and the sheer 'luxury' of the ploughman's that was delivered to a nearby table, as that prompted us to view the menu, and... they've updated it all, and it all looked classy, so... even though I can only comment upon my beer - which was superb - I will re-visit to try their food!

Stopped for a quick drink whilst visiting the museum next door. Whilst the beer was ok, the customer service was non existent. After choosing a pint listed on the chalk board we were told it wasn’t available. The lady behind the bar was unable to offer an alternative, having no knowledge of the ales on offer (or not). The bar staff in general looked like they wanted to be elsewhere whilst a long queue of thirsty customers struggled to be served…

Saturday 13 August 12:15. Ordered a light lunch (Powder Monkey Dog and Smoked Trout) for two. No sign of the order by 12:45, asked at the bar why the delay, and was told order would be ready in 5-10 minutes. Still no order at 13:15. Went to the bar, demanded and received a full refund, then left. I don't recommend ever eating there.

Local residents, our first visit. Great location, an excellent business idea, very clean premise, hard working staff - and an excellent selection of high-quality ales and gins. Good see staff stepping in to deal a large, noisy group who'd clearly had too much and who were causing people to look quieter locations to enjoy their evening. Arguably, it shouldn't have been permitted to get to that point and marred an otherwise TripAdvisor 5.

We called in for a drink having been walking nearby. There is a large range of craft beers, lagers, craft gins etc. Not really knowing what beers to order based on our usual tastes we asked one of the bar staff for recommendations which they were happy to provide. Their choices although not what we would have usually chosen were excellent and very tasty. We sat outside as it was a lovely day which made a pleasant early evening experience.

The place itself is in a nice location etc. deserves 4/5. However the beer my wife and I had, was put simply POOR… 1/5 would be too kind The beer in question “Vienna Pale” was Cloudy, not hazy. Hazy would imply you could see through to the other side of the glass, which in this case you could not. Bar maid confirmed the beer is served hazy as the brewer likes to retain a lot of the trub to improve the flavour characteristics. Clearly when dispensed the trub was not retained in the barrel and was deemed acceptable practice to go forward into the glass! I waited a while for this beer to perhaps settle, but it was never going to happen anytime soon. As someone who brews their own wheat beer I am more than familiar with this issue, which is down to insufficient stillage effectively not allowing the beer enough time to settle! The trub will have imparted all the flavour it needs to within the barrel and does need to go forward and be chewed when drinking the beer! Put simply £7.65 for one and a half pints of this garbage was daylight robbery, not even good home brew.

Well I turned up half an hour before its advertised closing time to the evident annoyance of the staff. Tried ignoring me and when that didnt work reluctantly served me and forced me to listen to a rant about how they were just about to close. The finale to this performance was deliberately putting the cup of coffee as far away as possible on the counter. My tip if you want to close early shut the door and put up a closed sign. Absolute height of rudeness. The coffee was ok

Under new Management since around May, seen a few Landlords/Landladies over the years, but the latest seem to be struggling getting things right! Firstly it was teething problems then it was the Euro’s, but what use is a Bar with no beer & soft drinks?? They seem to be consistently running out of beer, wine, spirits & soft drinks. On one of the visits there was only 2 pumps on, no Pepsi on the gun or soft drinks in cans, vodka. Please don’t presume that the bottles on the optics are House Spirits, check price before requesting, especially as the splash is even more than requesting say half of Pepsi. Prices are consistently changing from day to day. Wine selection is not great, that is if they have any. Pool table is not in the greatest place, especially at one part of the bar. I do believe they also have The Tap across the water, never been, so only comment I can make is that if it is run the same way as the The Five Alls I will not be visiting in future.
