For a small singular red bull mixer it is £4. Absolute rip off for the pricing of some items and reasonable for others.

Worryingly empty in comparison to other places around. Service friendly enough , food average but cheap enough, lacked atmosphere due to no customers bar our group. Ok but not much to recommend.

Bar really middle, especially for the blond waitress who was very rude. Glasses are really dirty and when I Asked for another one just got insulted. Not saying all the waiters are the same because they seemed like nice lads, but she seemed not a joyful person. Sad to see in England when it's known for their hapiness. Will not recommand it.

Mighty cooked breakfast with welcoming, friendly and glamorous staff. Highly recommended if you want a top cooked breakfast late Saturday morning without having to queue or wait for a table.

The best ribs I have had in my life, they were falling off the bones before I got my knife and fork to them. My boyfriends steak was cooked to perfection as well. We went here as it was next to our hotel. The staff were lovely, the drinks were wonderful and the service was outstanding. The chef even came out and checked we were happy with our meals. I was thoroughly impressed. We will definitely be back!

Food is bad. Sour, undercooked and soaked in grease. Atmosphere is even deader than in the cemetery. The amount of food is not in proportion to the price. Drink was lukewarm. Order must be placed at the bar where the drinks could also be collected.

I wasn't overly happy with my visit, but I do acknowledge that may not be the case for everyone. I've worked in pubs for many years (and run some) and the pint I ordered tasted a tad off, so I made my way to the bar to tell the staff. Now this itself is no cause for concern, as there as many factors out of the staffs control that could cause this, and ultimately I was just happy to switch to a cheaper drink, and just let the staff know. However it was the staff I spoke to, who put me off a bit. When I informed him that the pint tasted a tad off, his response was to pour a taste for another customer and ask them if it tasted off, who proceeded to say no. This and the staff members reaction to this made me feel like I was been accused of lying, even though I know sometimes if a pints been left in the lines for a bit, that first pint can taste a bit off, it's nothing big. I was then offered a different drink, so I elected for a bottle instead, which I was happy to accept, like I say, I hadn't made a massive deal out of it. I then watched as the staff member decanted my unwanted drink into another glass and give it to the other customer. Unfortunately it was these events which put me off staying and we left after finishing our drinks. However, like I say, it may not be typical of this place, and people should take my review with a pinch of salt (as it is simply my opinion and experience there) and go visit and make their own mind up about the place. Otherwise I couldn't fault the place.

We had a group booking of 21 on a Saturday evening, Alexandra was amazingly helpful over email with the menu and getting us booked in and being so accommodating, especially with one of our guests with dietary restrictions. When we arrived Carmen was absolutely wonderful, so helpful, friendly, and just overall made our experience there amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better host!! We had a lot of last minute changes that she quickly helped us with and sorted anything out we asked her to. The other staff there were also lovely, so helpful and friendly! We’ll be back and bringing friends to see Carmen for sure. Thanks so much!

We visited on Monday evening and had a lovely time watching the football, Carmen and Jack were so attentive and made a massive fuss over our dog which made us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to return both for the great selection of drinks and the service!

Could be a fun place if there were a lot of people there. It was a slow night. Food was good, real British fish and chips. Had a blast playing darts. Good beer. Friendly staff. Recommend going.

Food and drinks were amazing, I had chicken and waffles and it was delicious. Our server Jack was so friendly and also so quick we never had an empty glass on the table. Would definitely recommend.

Went in as it didn't seem busy. I ordered food and sat down. There was only two staff on the bar and serving food. After 45 mins I asked the barman where my food was and he put me onto the manageress and she couldn't explain where my meal was. I explained I had a concert to go to and couldn't wait any longer. Received refund and no apology. I won't be returning to a eatery that fails to achieve the basics.

Ordered chicken fajitas, very expensive, took ages to come and was burnt, wasn’t asked if our food was okay so just left, they were busy though as England game was on later. Lad behind the bar was a nice guy but food was terrible. Seemed very short staffed. Other people’s food which wasn’t burnt looked good.

We held our team party night last Thursday 20th June - Karmen the Manager was absolutely brilliant, she kept making sure everything was ok and we had everything we needed. The Door team where really on it - seeing as it was a football night they made sure only our team where allowed in. thanks again for a great night - we will be back

We often go to the Portland for work events. Carmen and the team are honestly the nicest people. If you’re looking for a drink, good atmosphere, sports shown and good food this is the place to visit. In the heart of Manchester, open till late well worth a visit. Thanks Carmen and the team for another great night.

Avoid. Food seemed reheated. Chips that could chip a tooth and tasted off. Some were very discoloured. They looked like they’d been on someone else’s plate at lunchtime. I should’ve smelled something fishy when they made us go up to the bar to order and then made us pay up front. That being said, the staff were friendly and pleasant. The problem is in the kitchen. We ordered barbecue ribs £18 (grey in colour with no barbecue sauce - just lying there like a corpse) and buffalo fries £12 which was a pulled chicken affair that someone had mashed up with some cheap sauces in the kitchen. It was vile. We tried to eat it, but eventually we chalked it up to experience and just left it there on the plates and went across the road to Rudy’s pizzeria which is a lovely place and ironically cheaper. Staff just pretended they didnt notice.

We were looking for somewhere to have a Full English not too far from the station, saw this place and the veggie option looked good so we went in. Found a table by the window, ordered an Americano coffee each and I had the vegetarian cooked breakfast and my husband had the meat one. They're a good size, they had run out of vegetarian sausages but substituted it with a veggie burger which was fine with me. It was lovely to have some halloumi too, and the toast was great. Nice and clean, friendly polite staff, pleasant ambience, we'd go again. Fairly pricey but being in the city centre and the large portions all was worth it.

We were let down for a hen event. Came here and Carmen was brilliant checking we could have the bottomless brunch. It was amazing and she was so attentive. Drinks were fabulous and food great. Fabulous atmosphere, get yourself in, its awesome

Stumbled upon this place before seeing a show at the palace theatre, food was lovely and the atmosphere was welcoming.. so back today after a day in Liverpool where we decided to give the food a miss there and go back to our new favourite place. Once again it didn't disappoint, food lovely (I had brisket loaded fries 😋) staff are super friendly and genuinely make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door to when you leave. Will be back soon, thank you 👏👏

1) Really bad food, 2) An over friendly lady was taking care of us but I think as soon as she realized we were not asking much food and drinks she forgot about us, someone else came to “rescue us “ and still the guy was not focused on attending us…… I did not have any expectation really, I will never come back. Worst service ever.

Waitress lacks attentivity and friendliness -super nonchalant Arrived 3pm with few other customers in the establishment -order food, wait for 40 minutes. Others received food before us despite arriving later. Turns out food hadn't even been cooking for us. Not much was said after we asked about it "nothings been put in the till" "I can get them to cook it now"

First time here for an afternoon drink with a friend. Brilliant, exceptionally friendly service. Didn't get food this time but that's planned for next week.

Staff were really helpful and food was decent, but Christ the music was so loud, we could barely hear from across the table without shouting and despite asking the staff 3 times to just turn it down abit it was turned down a smidge then whacked back up.

On our trip to Manchester, we were in the mood for pub food before we headed home. We searched around and stumbled upon Portland Bar & Grill. We decided on… 🧀 Spiced Halloumi Bites 🍗 BBQ Wings 🍔 Smokehouse Burger 🍔 Simple Burger (Doubled Up) Before I even had a chance to take a photo, the starters had been eaten! The Halloumi bites were delicious for both of us, and my partner loved the wings. However, I found them to be a bit too spicy for me. Our burgers looked great when they arrived and I was excited to eat my own, but unfortunately, they didn’t meet my expectations. I found that the meat was tasteless and as much as I wanted to enjoy it, I didn’t. My partner really enjoyed his though. We would go back to try out other items on their menu, but for me, the Burger was not the one.

We visited after a 6hr journey & were greeted by very friendly staff, served our drinks immediately & had our meals in front of us in 15 minutes. The food is hot & delicious, very competitively priced & an excellent selection of food & drinks available. The atmosphere is great, lively without being rowdy. We enjoyed it so much we actually returned 3 times during our stay. A special shoutout to the manageress who is a really lovely lady & makes sure everyone is happy. We’ll definitely be back!

Only popped in because I read the menu found at the entrance that they can do a gluten free option for breakfast, otherwise I would have travelled home without eating as there are very few places in Manchester that cater for gluten free. I would say it was slow to be served at first but that’s because the lady was busy, but when asked if I could have the Gluten Free bacon and Egg bap, she checked the kitchen and said she could cater for my needs. Arrived promptly after and the bread was unbelievable (and bacon / egg). Haven’t had a GF breakfast in a long time and this went down so nice with the Cappuccino. Had a great conversation with the lady (sorry didn’t get your name!) about Gluten Free and she was on the same page as me. This page needs to update it’s breakfast buns they do and shout out about the gluten free as there will be many others who have no where to go for breakfast! Thank you, will visit again!

Llegamos a las 7 de la tarde desde España y nos preguntaron si ibamos a comer con mala cara, nos trae la carta y no viene a atendernos hasta una hora despues y nos dice q ya no puede ponernos comida ni bebida porque está cerrada la cocina despues de estar todo el tiempo esperando a que nos atendieran. La camarera nos ha tratado super mal y con mala cara. Fatal el trato y la experiencia no lo recomiendo

Absolutely horrific experience with the security guard on 24th November, just after 10:30pm. Me and my boyfriend came in the door for half a second because on the street there was the truck spending the salt/sand for the icy roads. The security guard came SHOUTING at us asking why we closed the door. Genuinely we tried to explain calmly that the mixture of sand/salt was going everywhere but he became super aggressive. We left because it didn't feel safe but he followed us outside. He got really close to my boyfriend and I told him if he touched him I'd call the police and he said, quote: "I don't care, I come from the streets". He literally stayed there shouting at us, insulting us and try to pick up a physical fight until our cab arrived.

About an hour wait for food not many customers, had a glass of wine with lipstick on 🤮 food ok when it finally came, sorry wont be there again

Can't recommend enough for a brunch!! The steak tatter was amazing and the staff very friendly.

The service was excellent. The 2 staff on duty tonight were the most attentive and polite we have met in a long time. Whoever owns this place is lucky to have them. The food was delicious but the red plastic basket it was served in cheapened the look. That was the only shortfall.

We did brunch on a Saturday afternoon the service was amazing the food was top quality you couldn’t fault this place at all the manager and all staff couldn’t be more welcoming made sure we was happy making sure we had drinks at all times I would highly recommend 5star service

Main gripe was the adding on of 10% compulsory service charge which was not made known to us till we asked for the bill. Food and service both good but I'd rather decide on a tip myself. When we questioned it, we were told we could leave a tip as well. Paid service charge (which was less than the tip we would have left) and left. Wouldn't go back.

An excellent American-style sports bar serving food and drinks adjacent to Manchester Piccadilly Station. They even have a very generous discount on food orders - provided drink accompanies the order - on Mondays and Tuesdays: 20% off the food for walk-ins, 50% off the food for pre-bookings. Even without this offer available, seeing that I ate and drank here on a Thursday, the prices are still very reasonable and even the standard prices make this bar the cheapest gastro-pub I have found anywhere in Europe so far.

Great atmosphere, robin behind the bar was very friendly . My brother needed WiFi and robin was very happy to help with her own personal hotspot .

Came in for food yestaday with the family around 6pm, it was really busy (probs to do with the cricket) but all the staff were on their A game, was stuck for choice but Robyn reccomended the dirty burger and it didn’t disappoint, and neither did robyn throughout our stay she went above and beyond for us, my family all said she was such a ray of sunshine

Always pop in here for lunch when I am in Manchester and it never disappoints. Food is excellent and the staff are very friendly with a special shout out for Carmen who is both very welcoming and friendly. I can recommend the rump steak skewers. Location very handy near Piccadilly Gardens.

Popped in for a "Full English" this morning and was served by a beautiful blonde lady with the most lovely smile, and friendly attitude. The breakfast itself, was delicious and the sausges in particular, were really good quality. Nice classic rock tracks playing in the background, too, Highly recommended.

Went for lunch and had the steak. Really nice food.. Cooked exactly how I asked. Everything was nice. Quality food, restaurant was clean, service was good.

Amazing food, excellent service. Music was present but not overwhelming. If you enjoy watching your favourite sports, this is a great bar to do so, there are TVs on each large table and others for the rest of the space.

Food was below average. Burgers looked great online however they felt like burgers you'd buy in Asda and cook at home. The drinks where warm which wasn't great on a very hot day. However, the lady member of staff who was working was fantastic!!
