Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night. Lovely atmosphere and staff so welcoming and friendly, couldn't of had better service. Food was spot on, as a table of 8 it all arrived quickly, hot and for everyone. Special thank u to the lovely manager, who makes all homemade Portuguese desserts, I had the I think it's called nanas pudding? Sorry if it's wrong but it was just wonderful!! Definitely recommend and hopefully be back out again soon.

£37.50 for two average Sunday roasts and a pint Definitely not value for money In response to your reply We first had a pint of 1664 and a tea for £7.80 Was told the roast after the meal was £15 I take it the tea was 30p then The beef looked like it was thinly sliced and came from a supermarket My visit was a trip to my late sisters local And spoiled my memories of pently of visits in the past.

This use to be a lovely pub, I’ve been a couple times. But since there has been a new female member of staff, it has gone out of hand. One memeber of staff was rushed off her feet whilst this new staff member was just stood around doing nothing apart from criticising everyone around her. Whoever she is, she needs to go. Completely unprofessional and off putting. I won’t be returning

No welcome. Two of us had roast chicken, chicken was very dry, it felt it was frozen veg, and potatoes, defiantly not the best, gravy was tasteless. We ordered a pudding, 45 minutes we were waiting. We nearly walked out. Was it worth it , no. The person who was serving did everything, bar, waitressing , cleaning etc. No steak on the menu. Both roasts were chicken or pork , no beef or lamb. Lovey pub, country pub but no fires, extremely cold, even though there were 2 fires. What a shame, we would never return.

Food was really lovely. However, not enough staff. You cannot run a restaurant with one person taking orders, clearing away, running the bar area, taking payment etc. the atmosphere was weird, people were getting cross having to wait so long. Increase staff numbers then it would be great and I would go again. Until then, I won’t be back. If there is a staffing issue, don’t book so many people in. This isn’t the first time, I have been before a few weeks ago, but very few people in the restaurant so it wasn’t so noticeable.

Not even sure where to start. Went with friends for the ‘all you can eat’ curry tonight. £15 including a pint, great value! What an absolute disaster. Next to no one in the pub, which is a worrying sign. We got to pick our table and help ourselves to the food. Two choices of rice, plain and pilau. An onion bhaji tray, and three curries; beef madras, chicken korma and veg curry, with poppadums and two dips. The curries were both the WORST curries I’ve ever had. Not even at a restaurant, just anywhere. I’ve ruined a curry at home and it’s still been ten times better. Chicken was overcooked, which is fine, but the sauce was watery, same for the beef madras. It’s like the chef has never had an actual curry. Horrific. The poppadums were swimming in oil, but were somehow the only edible thing there. I tried mixing the mango chutney dip with the curry to make it slightly tasty, but it didn’t work. I genuinely can’t stress how awful this meal was. I’m still in shock. They are new owners I believe, but it’s literally inedible. From the drink selection , they were out of two choices, which is poor. No one came to ask for more drinks or ask if the food is ok, so we had our meals and left to go to a local pub. I didn’t want to give them any more money, it was that bad. They won’t be open for long, which is normally be sad about, but on this occasion I don’t feel bad at all. Maybe the normal menu is ok, but if you can’t make a semi decent korma, I can’t see them being able to do gammon and chips etc. save your money and go elsewhere. Still disgusted…

We've been coming here every 3 months or so, for about 30 years. Its a halfway point to meet family and friends. The food has always been excellent, the interior is looking better than ever and I have written several glowing reviews. However our last visit was very disappointing. One of our party ordered eggs and chips (the menu item was ham, egg and chips). What arrived had ham stuck to the bottom of the eggs, clearly they had realised the ham wasnt ordered and had removed it. As a vegetarian this is just not acceptable. And then when checking the bill, we had been charged for the ham, egg and chips! Another persons sandwich was very dry and anothers salad limp and soggy.

Lovely stay at Drayton Crown - we enjoyed a very nice meal and drinks in the bar and made feel very welcome on our arrival by bar manager. The room and en-suite was great with everything we needed including biscuits to go with tea and coffee. Great breakfast and again a very warm welcome from Angie the housekeeper xx we will be back. It is hard to believe this cafe is rated so highly. The food was mediocre and the server and his mother create a depressing atmosphere. Plates were thrown down, the server was really unfriendly in general. Go to The Chapel instead for real food and decent service.

In Ilchester for a car service and dropped into the Ilchester Arms for breakfast. They weren't cooking at the time but they made a Bacon sandwich for me anyway ❤️ Really very good of them, friendly service that you remember. Thanks !!

Great breakfast, food cooked well and very tasty. Had previously passed by on way to Cornwall but decided to give it a go. So glad we did.
