Probably the best sunday pub lunch I have ever had. Beef superb, service first class. Nice surroundings. Prices reasonable bearing in mind the quality.

We have been on several occasions and the food is always outstanding!! Just remember the pizzas aren’t served in the day on weekdays (which the kids were gutted about!!!).

Our first visit, called in for a drink after visiting the area. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience, the tea was very weak, the americano was not very hot and when the drinks were delivered one was were spilled. There was a bit of attitude from the server when we asked for a serviette to clear up the drink they spilled, we had hoped they would have offered to clear it up but they were not so we we did it anyway. So not a good first visit, not sure if that staff member is always like it or if they were just having a bad morning. First impressions, and all that.

Lovely place but food wasn't up to it's usual standard. I had chicken balloting. It was dry and the french beans were not cooked. We waited half an hour for dinner. We had to find a waitress to order drinks. Starters were good but really it's more geared to burgers and pizzas.

Visited here for the first time today. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience for us due to burned pizzas and poor customer service. 2 out of 3 pizzas had to be returned as they were very burned on the bottom, and one of them also on the top. These 2 were redone at our request, 1 was okay, but the child's one still had 3 pieces inedible due to burning. Our neighbouring table also had the same issue with one of their pizzas. Service was disappointing as no one came back to the table to check on us after the pizzas had been redone. There was no staff around for some time, so we walked to the entrance to pay. I was asked if we enjoyed our time, i was surprised they didnt kniw about the returned food. I said we didn't, as we had to send food burnt food back and no customer service after this had occurred. I then got asked to pay the bill, and then the apology came. Nothing was offered to soften the bad experience we had. Such a shame as decor, ambience, background music are all good. Toilets clean. Others obviously have a good experience here, but wasn't our day. Food score 2 as did finally get some edible pizza.

As usual, food was great. Only gripe is having service charge already added to the bill and then asked if you want it removed when you go to pay. Why put it on before you pay, are they assuming service was great? Also, very embarrassing to be asked the question at the till surrounded by people.

We had our works do there, in the downstairs area. It was beautiful but very tight on space for seating, once I was seated, I couldn't get out to get a drink, guess I saved money on not drinking but it was a party and if I'd known, I would have taken a drink down with me. Pizza was great value.

This place came as a recommendation. It didn't disappoint. The Epic burger was outstanding! It was so nice and not too messy! Very warm and friendly atmosphere. The service was a touch slow but pleasant nonetheless. My partner had fish, but as a non fish fan, I didn't try it, but she said it was delicious.

Probably the best all round meal I’ve had in a long time. A busy Sunday lunch had no impact on the speed of service throughout. The food was well presented, hot and very flavorsome. I love the surroundings and decor, which creates a warm and relaxed dining experience. 10/10! Thank you.

I love The Firehouse, consistently great food and beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic meal last night and our waitress Rose was so attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. We weren’t sure what to choose, however Rose was very patient and gave us some great recommendations. Thank you Rose, we had a great time - we will definitely be visiting again soon!

Lovely anniversary meal. The pork was delicious and the dauphinoise potatoes absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed the cocktail but only minor criticism was perhaps could have been better presented for £9.50. Will definitely return and have recommended to others. Sadly it won't allow me to upload photos as claims the file is corrupt.

Great place, great food - surprisingly good value! Had two courses, plus a side drinks for 2 and it came in just over £30ph! Left absolutely satisfied

Great food Great service Brilliant atmosphere. We were in the vaults which I found a little claustrophobic, but that is just me. There are many other very pretty areas to eat in The Firehouse. Definitely would go back

Pre-birthday dinner We live in wellington and have had to travel a fair way to the firehouse, but we don’t mind doing so because the food is superb, very nice food and in lovely settings. Our most recent outing to the firehouse was nothing short of our usual expectations, absolutely delicious pizzas (I had the Olympic flame pizza which was massive!) and my friends had pizzas and left with full stomachs. Oscar once again served us, seating us outside and looking after us throughout with attentive service and warm smiles. The Tooti fruit cocktails were amazingggg and we will be back soon enough!

It was mainly made up of green leaves and bread. Main was seafood linguine which was admittedly very nice but was a very small portion for £23! You can eat fresh seafood at a seafood restaurant for less. Service is standard at best. There is an air of snobbery with the staff, especially the lady on the front desk last night (17/08) who greeted us with a ‘yes’ rather than a ‘hello’. We were put on a Table at the top of the stairs which isn’t really fit for a table as everyone kept squeezing past us and knocking things on our table. And finally the service charge. Hardly optional if it’s already added to your bill?? Passive aggressive at its best as you know most people will feel uncomfortable asking for it to be removed if they wanted to. Plus please remember we are in Curry rival and not a city - stop being pretentious and passing additional cost onto the customer and focus on other areas such as attentive service and value for money food!

Visited last night for a farewell drinks for a lovely friend, felt welcomed as soon as we entered by a smiling Suzzane, the phone was ringing off the hook but she prioritised us first, we had a few drinks and ordered some nibbled to share, calamari was nice, halloumi sticks addictive and the skinny fries were delish. Servers were all friendly, had a lovely night, Thankyou

I visited the Firehouse on Friday night with my daughter and friend. It was very busy and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and efficient. My daughter ordered the vivary park pizza and I had the beef burger, the food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long at all. The portions were generous so I couldn’t manage a dessert. Instead we moved to the bar and enjoyed a few drinks. I will definitely be back

We have just returned from an evening at The Firehouse having visited on numerous occasions previously. On arrival we were shown to a quiet table, away from the atmospheric bar area. No sooner had we sat down we were asked for our drink order so asked the girl to give us 5 minutes. We asked for noccarella olives and were brought a bowl of black tinned olives but when we queried this we were told "they've been changed." Our food was brought by a lovely young girl and that was the last time any off the staff engaged with us. A young man visited the adjoining table 3 times, to clear, clean and re-lay. Not once were we asked how our food was or offered any water. On a positive note, the food was very good but after finishing, we waited for a good 30 minutes with no sight of any staff to clear our plates and take desert orders. In the end we got up and went back to the entrance desk, paid and left. A very disappointing evening due to the complete lack of interaction from the staff who, quite frankly all looked like they wished they were elsewhere.

Lovely food and friendly service. We sat and had a leisurely lunch and didn't feel rushed even after we had finished and were chatting.

We stopped at the Firehouse pub a week or so ago on our way back down from Cornwall. Scrumptious pizzas in this lovely section tucked away was so nice, and the service was even better! I think his name was Oscar, and he was very attentive and told us about some lovely Somerset local walks to do nearby! With us living so far away, it was lovely to get a taste of the Somerset feel of the place- even had a thatchers cider as the cherry on top! Will most certainly be coming back!

It was good, the food was standard we did feel like the pizzas were a bit cold and a little dry. We sat outside and were disappointed that we had to go inside and order. there wasn’t a lot of service outside after the food was delivered.

Absolutely Fantastic service & excellent food, where the pizzas are made from scratch and are scrummylicious. Highly recommend & I will definitely be going back for more.

We had takeaway pizza on our first night in Aller and were so blown away by the food and atmosphere when we collected our order that we returned for lunch the next day! An absolute treat!

Very sad as was looking forward to an evening chatting with friends but the outside are (we had to sit here as 3 well behaved dogs) was incredibly noisy and the non smoking signs totally ignored ..couldn’t hear ourselves think due to several large groups .. asked waiter about those smoking and he said they are on the edge so okay 🤯😢

Nice pizza - but at £17 really expensive. Warning - they charge extra for a half pint (it’s half the cost of a full pint plus a surcharge of 20p). This is not shown on the drinks menu and I am struggling to understand what the justification could be as drinks prices are already sky high for Somerset.

It was a buzzing atmosphere, the staff were friendly and extremely good...the food was lovely...I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Lovely Pub, old English character mixed with a modern look, staff very friendly, and attentive when needed. Food was very good, sunny day, sat outside , a leasure lunch, will be back, to try the wood fired Pizza, and then back in winter to eat and drink with those brilliant Charnwood fires, which I have in my very old and cozy cottage, keep it , very happy and satisfied 😌

Love the decor inside, lots of little dinning rooms. Food was great very impressed, nice atmosphere to the place. I had the early bird menu great value for money, had the steak really tasty with a nice peppercorn sauce. Had the brownie desert which was very rich and a lot larger than expected, too full to finish it I'm afraid. Definitely recommend a visit but booking is essential and the car park is small.

The Firehouse does a particular thing, and does it very well. Food led, with charming dining rooms. A lively bar area at the front for those who just want a pint and a chat. They have had problems with keeping ales in the past, but that seems to be behind them. The last few pints that we have had have been excellent. Personally, I find the high energy, TV-on bar atmosphere not exactly what I look for in a pub, but I appreciate that others would give a higher Atmosphere score.

Never had a bad meal here love it and good prices.

Sunday lunch, roast dinner for 6. Food was mid quality, meat very rare, potatoes "rare" and watery gravy. Service was friendly and charming, but a little alluf when it came to getting the bill. Watch out for the 20% service charge, optional of course.

What a gorgeous place! Probably the best pub we have been to and we have visited a fair few 😉. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food (we had a roast and a pizza). Dog friendly in bar area and outside, they even have a doggy menu. And all of that situated in a pretty village with nice walks.

Recently rediscovered The Firehouse as having to visit Taunton regularly. An excellent, very professionally run pub-bistro at every level. Immaculate interiors, great ambiance, good value for money food and extremely friendly and efficient service. Recent Sunday Lunch was faultless.

Met up with some friends for a few drinks & some pizza. Lovely pub, lots of free parking. Pizza was delicious, not the cheapest in the world but, absolutely 10/10!

Don't waste your time they've obviouslylet the great reviews go to their head. We were lucky enough to see the waiter once in 1:30 hrs. Try the Lyme Kiln, a much better venue now.

Stopped here for lunch on the off chance and was pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely friendly place to eat. Service was great and the food was really good. The pizza menu looked awesome so will have to go back and sample those.

My wife has coeliac disease and after 2 previous attempts at takeaways from The Firehouse where allergy instructions were ignored, I couldn’t get her to go back. After a year I convinced her to try it again and genuinely couldn’t believe that coeliac instructions were ignored again tonight and food was cross-contamination. My first ever negative review, sad times, but with 3/4 of our last visits being unsafe, until takeaway process is improved, it simply isn’t suitable for anyone with serious allergies. Sorry.

Had a lovely evening with my wife on Friday 5th Jan. Food and service I have to say was first class. Also there is a great atmosphere here. Staff are very welcoming and very attentive. Good value for money, the only slight criticism is the table size for two is very small and sitting there for two hours was a bit uncomfortable. Overall I would highly recommend eating at The Firehouse.

We loved it at this venue, we sat outside as we had the doggo with us, the food was excellent and lots of things had GF options. Good value. Lots of parking.

Lovely drinks and pizza, however as a disabled person I was incredible disappointed with the disabled toilet. It was not only on the small side (which I understand in an old property) but also had over 10 high chairs stacked in it limiting the use of the facilities. Disabled people deserve a toilet that they can use independently without the toilet being used as a storage room.

This is the second time I've been here, and to be honest it's quite nice, however on both occasions the food has been somewhat lacking, the first time round my wife's meal was bland, but this time it was mine, I saw on the menu a Xmas special pizza, with Turkey, pigs in blankets and stuffing, I swear it was almost impossible to tell where or what these topping were, I was expecting strips of Turkey, a couple (all be it small) of piggy's in blankets, and a few balls of stuffing, not even slightly. Our table (there were 6 of us) had to ask 3 times for water, now this was not a cheap meal, I'm now whinging about the price but if you advertise a pizza in a restaurant it should be the equivalent (or better) that can be purchased in a popular pizza chain.

Went there for 50th birthday with family. Lovely pizza’s and everyone enjoyed their meals. The building has been restored beautifully with lots of different areas to eat. They have different specials all the time.

Birthday lunch. Lovely start , but wasn’t asked specifically about desert and when we asked was made to feel a nuisance. Chefs off duty ……. Limited availability. Shame because we were having a nice time . Spoiled birthday treat,

Lovely bar and restaurant, really nice staff. Spacious and well managed. Popped in for a pint after a dog walk and to grab a takeaway pizza. Which was a bit disappointing, £16.50 for a pizza with barely any toppings felt a bit underwhelming and not good value for money in my opinion. Will have to only buy again when on deals or offers.

Very busy evening service but served promptly. We had the Thursday night burger special (2 for £25) which tasted amazing. Looked after by Henry, who was very attentive without being imposing. Will definitely return!

A lovely place to eat out, a slightly pricey menu but the food is great. Watch out for the 10% service charge when you go to settle the bill, they say it can be removed but by this time the damage is done.

Myself and my husband first found this gem of a venue a few days after getting married and have since returned for our first anniversary as we loved the service so much last time. Jess was our server and we couldn’t believe when she recognised us after nearly a year between visits. She was so wonderful and helpful assisting us with our choices on the menu. If you want to go for a shared starter is HAS to be the Firehouse Grazing Plate. I could eat just that and be very happy. We cannot wait to come back again next time we visit Somerset whenever that may be and if Jess still happens to be there we know we are in for a great service.

A large group of us booked for pizzas and meals the night before a wedding at a local venue.The pub was very busy but the staff and service were excellent.Great food too at a reasonable price.

Popped in for the first time to have some lunch and were very impressed by the building and decor. Lovely stone walls and large oak beams but remaining light. The lunch we had was superb. Beautifully cooked and presented. Some interesting rooms as well as a cool vault. Will definitely be back. Top marks.

One for date night! My good lady have been him several times previously, however, for me this was my first outing at the firehouse. The service from the staff was fantastic. They were attentive but also as well they did not hang around either, a fantastic blend of service and space. the food exceeded expectations, value for money was fantastic and very decent portion sizes, which, for a man of my physique is important :-). The atmosphere was perfect, a good volume for ambient music, with a rural cottage feel from the area we were seated. Would we go again… for sure.

Quite pricey but lovely food. Nice heated and covered outdoor area if you're bringing a dog. Also loved the milk vending machine in the car park.

We were a family of 13 staying in the area and booked a table for our last night. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the whole evening was. The food was pub grub but really good quality pub grub. They catered for our whole group from 4 years old to 70 years old. The menu was extensive .... wood fired pizzas, great quality burgers, Steak, Sea bass, Pasta .... all absolutely delicious. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and a very special mention for our server Joshua who was very attentive and polite and couldn't do enough to make our evening super special. I hope that we will have an opportunity to visit again sometime. We can highly recommend.

I live locally but haven’t been for a while. Had the summertime Orzotto which is hands down one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. Really fresh ingredients with lots of flavour. Josh, our waiter was absolutely brilliant too. Really attentive and super accommodating to my friend’s dietary requirements.

We go to this restaurant fairly regularly as we live locally. Haven't been for a while, but it's our anniversary on the 20th so we thought we'd treat ourselves to 2 visits. The first was last night, 15th, and we were delighted to see that the summer menu was looking brilliant. I chose the thai curry and my husband the lamb. We were quickly served with drinks, the waiter had taken our food order at the same time as our drinks, and our food quickly followed. All I can say is delicious. The portion was huge, I couldn't eat it all. The spicing was perfect leaving a pleasant tingle in my mouth. It was gorgeous. My husband couldn't manage all his either. He said it was delicious. I don't eat lamb, so can't say, but he really enjoyed it. As usual, service was great, our waiter was extremely efficient and very pleasant. We were in and out in less than an hour! Didn't feel rushed, we were offered dessert but we were too full to manage anything else. Can't wait till Thursday, our anniversary, probably go for the Farmers Feast.

We had a steak and ciabatta from the lunch menu. Both were generous portions made with quality ingredients. Kids were happy with the kids menu too. Would highly recommend.

We had a really lovely meal here again. I know it's well known for excellent Pizza but my daughter had a Sea Bass with linguine which she said was wonderful. Really lovely food and service and we will be back again very soon

The decor is good, the servers were pleasant and efficient. The flavour of the Thai red chicken curry was OK, but I only knew it was a curry because it said so on the menu, and the portion size was small. Compare it with my fork. Even though Thai red curries are among their hottest, they aren't fiercely hot, but this wasn't even like warm. I know costs have risen recently but the prices are high, especially considering the portion size and lack of authentic flavour. £19.00 for a small (and I do mean small) portion like that is not good. Add that to a burger also at £19.00 and you can see where I'm m going with this. Will we come again? I would think before jumping.

Pre-ordered two pizzas to take as guests at friends supper party. NO recollection of my phone order when I went to collect so had to wait for them to be cooked. Very poor service.
