1st time here and wow! Food and drinks reasonably priced and good option for vegans, quick service and great atmosphere and decor ! Would definitely go back.

Good standard and nice selection of modern pub restaurant dishes.

Service was good. Ordered the burger, all good except the 'collard slaw', which means green leaves, it looked like pink coleslaw and was ridiculously spicy hot. Had to get a separate plate to scrape it off! The pepperoni pizza would have been good, but again, the pepperoni was so spicy hot it burnt my mouth, and I can take a fair bit of chillie heat. The menu did not say spicy on either of these dishes. We would not have ordered if we had known. We are locals and left disappointed.

Had a lovely cream tea warm scones cream and jam. Lovely stuf

Not the best dinning experience. I have been to two other eateries in the chain - The Pheasant Plucker and Lazy Fox and I have had a wonderful experience each time. I was expecting the same at this place. Our waitress opened the wine and left it without offering to pour. She didn't check on us and looked miserable. The food was good.

Very attentive and knowledgeable staff, fantastic selection of zero alcohol options. Food was beautifully presented and superb in every way. Atmosphere was great, although busy, you could hear and enjoy your own company. Would visit again

Visited The Poacher and Partridge today for a family lunch with 6 of us. Impressed by the friendly and efficient service. Each of us very much enjoyed our food. One of our party somehow managed to order a pizza thinking it was a goats cheese salad! The manager was extremely accommodating, removed the pizza and provided a goats cheese salad (not on the menu) without any (visible) fuss whatsoever. We certainly could not fault the customer service. Clearly a popular venue and well worth the visit.

Another that speaks for itself food good. Service average. Atmosphere festive. GO HERE you will not be disappointed. The service matters little

Family friendly pub, with large restaurant and bar area. Visited for Sunday lunch. Younger staff waiting staff are well trained and efficient, which was good to see as it was a very busy Sunday lunchtime. Comprehensive menu, plus one for kids, which had good choices and sizeable portions. Nice garden outside for when the weather allows. We had a mixed roast which was good. Little bit on the tepid side, but they were very busy. We had the table for two hours, which was ok for us, but you may need to bear that in mind if you want to stay longer.

Always a good place to eat. Sunday lunch lived up to expectations. Slightly spoiled by one person's pizza only being delivered as we were nearly finishing in spite of chasing it up a couple of times. Drinks service was also slow. Better I'm summer when you can sit outside and get your own drinks.

The worst roast dinner I've ever had, the roast potatoes were bearly roasted and tasted reheated up in a microwave, vegetables over cooked . Will not be returning to this restaurant

Firstly I want to say the staff were very nice this is no reflection on them. However, I like many others were seduced by the two for one offer on the pizzas. Once we sat down had two drinks each, one side salad and a desert the bill came to nearly 70 pounds! I get things are not cheap however I feel for a relatively straight forward order the best part of 100 pounds is pretty steep. 50 to 55 pounds I feel would have been reasonable. In London I’d expect a 70 pounds bill but let’s face it in Tudeley a town no one has heard off, I feel 70 pounds was a bit much. The pizza was nice but has better.

Been here a few times and can say it's a very nice pub with a good atmosphere. Have not minded paying a bit more in the past, as the service and food is generally to a good standard, however can see that recently prices on food have gone up and they have started to add a 12.5% service charge to food ordered from the bar. This was not worth it for the service we received on our last visit, and is highlighted as "discretionary." We were also not informed of this when we gave our order. With regard to the food, it was nice but would expect a bit more when you are paying almost 20 pounds for a burger and chips. Would recommend coming here for drinks, but not food.

Walked to the Poacher at Saturday lunchtime and on arrival had to wait ages to be served 2 drinks at the bar. Found a table in the garden and went back to the bar to order food (a pizza and calzone) - had to wait again. 45 mins later they finally arrived - the calzone looking rather charred. However, it was tasty. Garden setting was nice overlooking the countryside.

Nice venue, can cater for large groups, nice outdoor space too.

Had a lookely lunch in the beer garden but was disappointed when I asked for a bitter shandy and was advised the cellar was too warm so the bitter was off also advised there was no lamb kofta. Less than 15 minutes later, another customer came out with a pint of bitter, shortly followed with a waiter bringing out kofta for another customer.

We parked up and took our dogs for a swim in the river before coming back to eat. We had 3 dogs and the staff were great about them. Food was delicious as always and service was good considering they were super busy

Service was poor. Not told when given menus that lots of food not available. Had worst fish and chips I've ever tasted. Overcooked and obviously been kept warm for a while. Mushy peas had a crust in them! Others around the table thought food very average. We did not complain as it was a first meeting and celebration with future in-laws and not appropriate. Wouldn't hurry back there.

Husband and I met 3 lovely friends on Sat 26 Sept 2023. Jude was our waitress, congratulations , as marriage soon to be sealed. All staff were happy to guide and listen to our requirements on food. Especially desserts.

We got married abroad, but decided to hold a celebration with family and friends in the UK as well. We couldn't have picked a better venue than this. The events team were great in helping us plan our day, and then Oscar and his team went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests had an incredible time. Add in wonderful food, and some luck with the weather to enjoy the garden after our lunch, and we simply couldn't fault the experience we had. 5* and definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal for our wedding anniversary at this fabulous venue set in beautiful surroundings. All the staff were extremely friendly and the food was gorgeous. They also kindly let us stay overnight in our motorhome on their car park. Will definitely be coming back here and will be recommending to family and friends.

The food was OK and the service was OK. - but the ‘discretionary’ service charge of over £16 on our meal for 3 wasn’t. We weren’t made aware of the ‘discretionary’ charge until presented with the bill for payment! - by which time it is a little late and would have involved a small, but nonetheless unsettling, confrontation with the server. It is not that it was £16 particularly, but that there was no advance warning, and, almost, no opportunity to question the ‘discretionary’ charge. It is also concerning that the charge is a high 16% of the bill - not related to the quality of service you receive. There is also little incentive for the staff to deliver good service when the money/tip is already going to be charged. The staff, as it happened, were attentive and professional. - perhaps because they knew there was a good tip already in the bag!! Enough whingeing. - we as a small party, had a very enjoyable time together. - only marred slightly by the foregoing.

Superb staff but roast was pathetic and double the price of my local pub. Vegetables were seriously undercooked.... parsnips were raw and broccoli crunchy.... cabbage (red and green)was disgusting and hardly any meat. I was hungry 2 hours later which never happens after a roast. My daughters pizza was lovely but unfortunately not the one I like so couldn't steal any. I will not be coming again.

It's always good food here so far not disappointed. Particular love chicken swarma. Love the open feel of the restaurant.

Staff are amazing. Firm favourites are Oscar and Tom. Always very accommodating and treat us impeccably. I think they love our dog more though 😊

This is a very nice country pub. Great service and great food at reasonable prices. It has a large car park and pleasant garden area. Worth a visit any time of year.

We really like the venue but it’s becoming not good enough reason to visit anytime soon. We went for a family dinner (4 of us) for my birthday on the 18th, didn’t book but as it was Tuesday didn’t expect it to be too busy, restaurant was not too crowded but clearly to us understaffed/really slow service. Our drinks arrived after our main meals, my husband’s shandy tasted like soda with beer not usual lemonade, when asked for replacement again waited a long time. My son ordered kids pizza, we asked if we could swap ham for pepperoni, we were not advised it will be extremely spicy and we were charged £1.50 for it. My all time favourite prawn linguine was really salty ( but as I love this meal just ate it). With all the wait and drink issue to add service charge of 12.5% on top seams like it’s better to work there then eat there!! Really disappointed.

It was ok but if you are going there for lunch and you only want a light bite or snack this definitely not the place to go. I recently went there with a very good friend of mine and we ended up paying £10 each for what we thought was a salad which when it arrived clearly wasn't. £10 for three deep fried vegetable balls with a few lettuce leaves, couple of slices of onion is not a salad a salad garnish yes but no way a salad and very over priced. Plus being sat right next to a gentleman when the place was empty seemed very odd.

Moody manager! A lovely venue and delicious food - just a shame about the moody manager! We ate yesterday lunch time (19th July) and appreciated that the pub was busy but it doesn't take much to look us in the eye and make us feel welcome. The young staff were great and made up for her! The food was delicious too.

Starting with the positives... Beautiful location and the layout of the gardens is wonderful. So much bigger than we thought, additional bar outside too! If just going for a nice drink, it's the perfect place. Now for the opportunities... Scallops, for £14.50 for a starter, expect freshness and flavour, they was fresh but so bland, had bits of burnt ham or something in it, which was so hard nearly broke a tooth, the waitress asked how they was I told her and her response was "oh, I really like them", good for you, you asked MY opinion. One of the people with me got raw chicken and had it swapped but once the replacement turnt up everyone else had finished eating and they had been put off by the raw chicken so she got a refund and offered a free pudding which was kind of them, but still was not the best experience. £180 for 4 starters, 4 mains, 2 alcoholic drinks and 3 soft drinks was rather pricey for the experience we had on that day.

Went with a group of 20 for our company Xmas dinner, great atmosphere and well presented, tasty food. Well organised too with the food arriving on time which can be difficult for a larger group.

Wonderful country pub on Hartlake Road, Tudley. Previous visit a few years ago. A few changes around the garden area. Beautiful setting, big garden / patio area. Some inside tables did seem a little close to one another. We were on table 5 & directly behind my back was another round table & someone sat literally should to shoulder (I did eventually rearrange my seat for more room) One of our starters was not fully cooked (cold in middle 😕) this was quickly rectified & replaced with another- don't be afraid to complain if ever something is not right. Great overall. Would recommend for something a little different menu wise.

Well the food - when we got it was excellent. BUT there were 3 of us - we ordered 2 starters (for me) and 2 pizzas to come together. My starters arrived but no pizza. Having queried this we were informed that they had not been started. So a bit of a wait. No one came to clear. We were probably chatting for an hour. I went and asked whether we had to clear ourselves. Not sarcastically, I just wasn’t sure as orders were placed at the bar. So a bit of a wait. We decided to skip pud and ordered coffee. The bar man who had taken coffee order passed our table and asked whether we had had coffee - he then went to check. 25 minutes later we got coffee! Although the food, as stated, was excellent the service was abysmal. Maybe eating in side where your order is taken is the way to go but for this (and it wasn’t the deciding factor to eat outside 🥵) a 12 1/2% service charge is levied.

My daughter and I treated my wife to dinner for her birthday. My daughters and wife's meals arrived cold and 10 minutes before mine. My wife wasn't enjoying her cold £24 duck meal and carried it back to the kitchen to ask if they could heat it up. They said they would prepare a fresh replacement, but 10 minutes later, she was served the original meal unheated again. She then again asked if it could be warmed up and this time they served her a fresh hot meal, but it was now an hour after the original order, so she ate her birthday meal on her own as we had both finished our cold dinners. It's all very disappointing.

Great lunch visit. Staff were excellent and service was pretty good considering how busy they were. The pizzas were very nice and the kebabs excellent. Not a bad selection of beers etc.

Airy, bright pub with outdoor tables and loads of parking including electric car charging points. The service was friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my Thai bowl with king prawn and my companion had no complaints about his steak pie. We hadn't booked for lunch but had no problem getting a table. Plenty of choice on the menu but a little expensive.

Very busy when we arrived & noisy. Sunday lunch was disappointing, we were still eating bread & oils when main course arrived. For roast received 1 slice of beef very thinly sliced & fatty, & food was lukewarm, plates cold. Dessert needed more rhubarb & crumble. Service was sporadic, & although drinks order taken when 1st sat down, had to wait long while for waitress to return before we could order wine. Had to ask twice for table water & extra lime for drink. Table seemed cramped for 4 people. Not a fan of the small paper napkins either, too small for lap cover.

Nice pub with a large beer garden on an open meadow. Wide view, many tables outside and sun loungers. Very relaxed.

We absolutely loved it here. The views were amazing, the decor was brilliant, and there were ample seating areas, especially outside. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It had a great family vibe to it and welcomed dogs to the outside area. I would definitely recommend it here.

Booked for dinner Tuesday evening. We were inside but looked a great place for a sunny fay with lots of outside seating and space. We shared a meze starter, had coronation lamp rump and seabass as mains and shared a desert of coronation eton mess. The service was very good but surpassed by the food which was excellent especially my seabass. Not exactly cheap but highly recommended
