This place has an area in the old building full of character, with a deep well to gaze in. It has a fine large conservatory, ideal for wheelchair (with good toilet). A recent lunch cost £15 for 2 course, £18 for 3 course. A limited a la carte menu, but food was excellent.

My husband and I went here for dinner. We had skewers filled with monkfish, parawns and chorizo, served with coleslaw and cous cous! It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious! Excellent service and friendly staff. Range of food suitable for all. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

Visited with no res on a Saturday evening. They seated us, and service was prompt and friendly. The facility is quite nice. No complaints there. Having read reviews here on Trip Advisor, had high hopes for the food but was disappointed. The starter of scallops seemed less than fresh, lacking that firm sweetness I'd expect, and every bite was gritty. Perhaps not rinsed thoroughly? Main course was beef shin with cottage pie. The beef was tender, cooked quite well but somewhat lacking in flavor. Cottage pie was pretty good. Overall, I would not have been so disappointed had it not been for the price point. I will gladly pay for outstanding food, but at that value I set my standards higher.

I stayed here for one night on business. Really couldn't fault the place. Huge comfy bed, spacious room, decor spot on, lovely touches like a DAB radio, local toiletries etc. Breakfast (full Cornish) was delicious and the service was friendly and cheerful. Only disappointed that I couldn't stay longer!

We stayed in Portscatho last year and used the Plume a couple of times. We were looking forward to returning and booked well in advance so we didn’t miss out. We actually ended up eating there three times during our stay. There is always a warm welcome, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding. We really enjoyed the 2 course set menu and also steak night. The moules are incredible - would thoroughly recommend them. To sum up - a great pub with great hosts, staff, atmosphere and food. Can’t wait to return next year!

We dined here last night. I had prebooked but was worried about the snowy conditions. As it turned out all the roads were clear which was a great relief as we had been unable to find anywhere else serving food between 3 and 7 in the local area. The restaurant was very welcoming and had a bit of character being originally a coaching inn. We chose Sunday roast. I had beef and my daughter had nut roast which she was very impressed with. The wait for food was reasonable and it was all freshly cooked. The desserts were delicious. I chose the Mitchell Mess. Overall, a very good experience. The staff were very friendly. If you want to take your dog then you can be seated in the bar area which is great for people on holiday and wanting to take their pets. Highly recommended.

Myself & my boyfriend have just come back from a night here for his birthday, to say great find is an understatement! I emailed earlier in the week for a bottle off prosecco in our room for when we arrive, it was there on ice with a rose next to it. We have already booked to go back for my birthday in June in a deluxe double room! Staff polite & helpful, we only had breakfast as we went into town for dinner but if breakfast is anything to go by then I would love to have dinner there! The room was massive, bed was incredible, clean & tidy through-out the whole place & cant wait to come back in the summer! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Oh My Days!!! I love this place. This was my first time and I will be coming back. The best fish and chips ever. It was good to hear and see regulars greeted like family with hugs and kisses. They have a HUGE choice of ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding is just the best diet ruiner. All the staff smile and laugh. The lovely Emily served us impeccably. If I had discovered this place while on holiday I would be well chuffed and a little sad that I couldn't eat here all the time. Luckliy, I live 15mins drive away so will be back once or twice a month to my new favourite place.

We stayed at the Plume of Feathers for three nights as part a long weekend break. The rooms are lovely, clean and well appointed with a small seating area, large bedroom and bathroom, including a walk in shower & roll top bath. The place in nicely located next to the A30 giving easy access to most places of interest. We ate breakfast at the Plume every morning (full Cornish) which set us both up nicely for a busy day sightseeing. We also ate two evening meals which were tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. The staff were excellent throughout, although I would give a special shout out to ‘Jen’ who recommended a visit to Kynance Cove. Thank You. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Plume if you’re planning a visit to Cornwall.

An excellent, adventurous menu, in an unspoiled traditional pub. Staff are enthusiastic and helpful. Try the gin infused salmon as a starter! Portions are generous and the prices are very fair. What is not to like?

We were looking for a hostelry to dinner at and by a wonderful stroke of luck came across this superb place. The beer ( Doom Bar ) was so good it had to be sampled twice ( not driving ) . The mackerel was excellent along with the salmon. A very pleasant host and staff rounded off 5* meal.

One of our customers put me up here for one night of Cornish hospitality. I liked it so much when planning a trip to UK with my sister this was a must stay at location. Both of my stays were great. The Pub is great with friend people to chat up and make us feel right at home, we had dinner and it was one to remember. The rooms are very well appointed, clean, the breakfast was nothing short of EXCELANT as well! You guys ROCK and helped make our trip one to remember. My sis gave me a framed photo us both in the Pub, than by ?? one of those good soles I mentioned earlier. Looks like a great place for Wedding or Party, I say first hand the preparation for Wedding/Party and they crossed all the T's and dotted the I's Keep up the great work. The staff is very helpful.

We have always experienced friendly staff and good food at this pub. It is easy to access off the A30, and with plenty of car parking space. There is a light and modern eating area, built, beautifully, next to the very old and characterful part of the pub. Pick the seating according to your mood. Food is not served quickly, but it always worth the wait. It is also a pub that feels comfortable for a female on her own, which not all pubs, even these days, manage to be. I always look forward to going to this place.
