Probably one of the worst carveries I have ever had. Given the choice of Gammon or pork. ( That's pork.... Or pork!!) Pork was so fatty it was inedible. We were offered a vegetarian option of "veggie tartlet" honestly this was beyond words bad. Vegetables were all served out of what can only be described as "copper buckets"and were cold , raw and or partially empty. I will say, that the young staff members were very polite and helpful. A very disappointing meal on the whole.

Had booked a table for 10 people for sat 21st. Been booked a little while they had taken phone number. When we got there was told chef had walked out the night before. But could not phone us to let us know. So at 7.30pm we had to try and get somewhere else. Not happy is a understatement.

Finally got around to trying this place as it’s “national curry week”. Wasn’t disappointed. Had a mix grill starter which was a big portion and plenty of tasty meat. The curry’s were pretty tasty as well. Enjoyed the whole meal. If I had one criticism it would be that the mango dip was too thick to drip on the popadom’s and could be thinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

I came with a group of 12 family members, we had starters which consisted of a Mixed grill and a couple of vegetarian options, the food was not bad and the starter portions were ok, the main dishes however were tasty but the portions could be better otherwise 5 star and definitely worth a second visit.

Vinda Lounge was recommended to us and when I checked Facebook I saw so many compliments about the food. Visited on a Thursday evening and hadn't booked. Received a very warm welcome on arrival and were seated quickly. Service was exceptional from beginning to end. Food is very reasonably prices and a good selection on the menu. Make no mistake this is authentic food cooked to your own liking. Good vegetarian selection too. I noticed they also deliver. We will definitely be returning here and ordering takeaway delivery. Recommend Chicken Curry, Dahl , Fish Pakora and Chicken Tiikka. Thank you for making our vist visit faultless.

As the title suggests ,and from the time of arrival to leaving the staff were lovely. My wife and I ate fairly early on a Thursday evening and it was relatively quiet although customers were coming and going throughout. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We shared a huge starter which was divine. it was prawn puree and melted in mouth softness and absolutely full of flavour. I had prawn special and whilst extremely nice was a little too spicy for me, but to be fair ,when given the choice of mild, medium or strong I chose what a typical bloke does I guess and ordered strong, next time I'll know and there definetly will be a next time. My wife's chicken sagwalla was sublime and on my list to try. The nan and keema rice were cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend highly enough ,thanks Dean and Avril

Food isn't even cooked fresh, had reheated , over cooked chips and reheated peas from what I imagine was left over from the carvery as we visited on a Sunday evening! Burger was overcooked, burnt and rubbery, when bringing this to the attention of the barmaid I was told they would left the chef know... How is that going to make any difference? Not even an offer of compensation... Not even an apology! Awful service and vile food... Will definitely not be returning

On arrival 2persons in the bar seemed friendly enough went into dining area sat waiting for approx. 15 minutes as no waitress had appeared my wife went the bar and was told you order at the bar (no notices or other signs that this was the case). My wife ordered fish & chips, I ordered mixed grill, fish very meagre chips and sides OK. My steak was one third fat, the what looked like a rasher of back bacon posing as gammon. The atmosphere was like a doctors surgery, was not impressed at all.

My wife and I have visited the plough regularly over the past few years, as it's within a pleasant walking distance( my wife's words- not necessarily mine!). We have always found the welcome warm, and the food of an excellent quality. If you want nouvelle cuisine, this isn't the place for you, but if you want home cooked food, cooked well,at a reasonable price, then do visit. The menu is concise - not a bad thing, as vast menus normally indicate that the majority of dishes are pre- cooked, and microwaved to order. There is a new chef in residence, and I have to say he CAN cook a steak "blue" , which , in my humble opinion is a fair indication of a chef's skill. All in all, good food at the right price- and who could want more?

I visited The Plough Inn with my Dad and brother having bought a voucher on Groupon for a steak meal and dessert for two. From the outside the pub is well presented and has its own car park. Inside the pub is clean, but is cramped and is lacking in atmosphere. We bought drinks at the bar, I was surprised that they only had coke in a bottle not on draught. We picked a table, the girl from the bar took our orders, the menu is a limited, with only about 14 dishes. We ordered the steaks as per the voucher, plus another meal. The food didn't take too long and was nice. The desserts were of the microwave variety. On the whole not a bad experience, but I wouldn't rush back either.

Having visited the Plough on a few occasions I have only had really good food, always on a Sunday and had a carvery. Home cooked fresh veg and beautifully cooked meat served by the owners son who is an excellent chef and a very friendly young man. My only problem with the Plough is the fact that it is very cramped and I always feel that I am having dinner with whoever is on the table next to me, I usually go with my parents and my father is not particularly sprightly being 83 and he walks with a stick which can make it awkward for him to get between the tables with his meal. We booked a table with a Groupon deal that included a glass of wine , main course and dessert. The girl at the bar was new and did not know the difference between beer and lager. We asked for one large glass of white wine and a pint of beer and once it was poured we were told that they did not do large glasses of wine even though the glass had measures marked on it. My husband asked if they could work out the price and was told no and the wine was taken away and I was poured a white wine out of a small bottle , my husband paid for these drinks. We both ordered steaks which were O.K. but when we asked for two glasses of red wine as per the deal we were told that they had poured my large glass of wine into two glasses ! We said we wanted two red wines with the steak and they brought one after some discussion my husband ordered half a pint of beer. There were only two options for the dessert even though they all cost the same and we would be charged £2 extra for any of the others. When we were leaving a boy came after us saying we had not paid for drinks. On going back to the bar the girl said she had forgotten we had paid for the first drinks but owed for the half pint even thugh my husband did not get his glass of wine. As he was paying the landlady came over but was not in the least interested in the bad service given. We decided that a meal at Faulty Towers would be better than this.

Upon arrival we did not receive a warm welcome (restaurant/pub was cold!!!) as per advertised on their website, and there was confusion regarding the timing and name of the booking. No table had been reserved for us, and we were told to take any table, which wasn’t an issue as there were plenty of unoccupied tables, however for following customers this became an issue. We were able to order from a limited main menu (even though we had prepaid for a set menu from a Groupon promotion) and the waitress took the order from the table. The food which arrived was average. The steak had a high percentage of fat, and not cooked to customer requests. The Black pudding was over cooked, and the grilling plate needs a good clean as meat was running in grease. However the green salad had a very complimentary salad dressing! We were not asked if the meal was satisfactory and if we required anything in addition. The house wine provided with the offer did not appear to actually be on the wine list; instead it was 8% ABV. We waited 45mins for the table to be cleared after the main, and we had to ask for the waitress to take the desert order from the table. We felt awkward as there were families waiting to be seated for their meal (which was also pre-booked).We then asked to speak to the Landlady who ushered us to the back area of the restaurant (away from the rest of the customers). We tried to explain the experience we had received to her, not to get a refund but to help with further improvements that could be made. Her standard response was “refer your complaint to Groupon”. However the complaint is not about the Groupon voucher but about the actual service we received, or lack of it. Her attitude toward us was rude and when her husband walked through the conversation, he then made a sly comment and I personally thought he was aggressive in both his tone and manner. Apparently the waitress service we received on our set menu was out of politeness not through standard policy as per stated in the menu (however the table next to us also got waitress service!) and we did not see any other customer make their order from the Bar.Overall, there appeared to be no attention to detail and the management needs to go on a customer service training course, specifically designed for the restaurant trade, as “Please”, and “Thank you’s” go a long way!The overall experience was not worth the £80 as per advertised on the Groupon Voucher.

We were greeted with a good welcome and a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant area is not too congested - I was not too impressed with the menus as they looked as though they had used marker pens removing items no loner on there. We ordered the Steak and the mixed grill - The steak was OK - The mixed grill was acceptable - Good quantity - but quality not above average - Steak was not very good remainder was OK.Desert was Meringue /Ice Cream and Cream - This was quite good and woudl order againThe servcie was by a young lad who was extremaly efficent and polite

Have been visiting The Plough Inn on a regular basis for some time now. Food is always of the highest quality, the Sunday carvery is delicious with a great choice of vegetables and meat. Richard the chef is always amiable and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The evening menu is excellent too. Good parking, great atmosphere and value for money, try it for yourself and see!

10/10, so glad me and my mum tried this out. Staff are lovely, coffee tasted great! The food is really nice, and the prices are amazing! Really good value for money at hannas cafe! Will be returning! If your thinking about going weatherspoons, for a panini or wrap don’t. Go here.

I have an event booked in the private dining area later this month, I have been emailing Mia who cannot do enough to accommodate all of my requests, she has totally put my mind at ease. I can’t wait for my event to celebrate at the Newdigate
