Great pub, smart and relaxing indoors with a bright airy garden. Traditional menu done very well. Tables clean and food excellent. Reasonably priced and very good value for money. We had the fish and camembert.

A cold welcome and unfriendly staff. Given that this pub hosts bike nights, I did not expect that when six of us arrived of motorbikes, we would be greeted with an eye roll! No, I am not exegerating. One of the female staff literally rolled her eyes and said to her colleague "Great! A group of Bikers are here" in not the most pleasant tone. Might I add we all rode in respectfully on very quiet bikes and sat outside on the furthest table from any other group... of which there was only one. Given that the pub was dead on a Monday evening you'd think they would appreciate the party of six arriving. Clearly we were a disruption to the staffs easy quiet shift and gladly took or business elsewhere for the evening. If it hadn't of been so insanely hot we would not have even stayed for the one.

Very basic pub, not as comfortable as the Half Moon at the other end of the lane. Not particularly friendly. We did not eat and no one was eating around 7pm to 9pm, so no idea about their food. There is a beer garden, so good place to bring a family. EDIT: Their response says it all!

Lovely little pub, good garden. I had the ploughman's and whilst it was nice it was quite an acidic mixture of gherkins, capers, pickles, vinagerette. Bread roll was lush, Stilton delicious. Just needed some crackers and I'd of been happier lol

Love this place. Staff are amazing and somehow know what I want before I do! The garden has amazing views and ideal for those with kids. The local pies are amazing in the winter. Harvey's Best Bitter is great.

The worst vibe. Staff blatantly and unnecessarily rude. Brings down the community, shame. Couldn't be paid to step foot in there again. Avoid at all cost! Friend’s military ID was declined, which was no issue at all. Just unfriendly and hostile service.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday and... wanted to stay. The people were very friendly, the food was lovely and the views from the garden were just gorgeous 💚 I also paused to take a look at the memorial raised for the Polish crew who served for RAF Chailey (an advanced landing ground in 1943-45). I noticed a book on it was also available for purchase at the pub. 🤍❤️ Thank you for remembering the history and thank you for your wonderful hospitality ❤️

Visited on a Saturday evening for dinner with friends and then were allowed to stay overnight in our motorhome in the carpark. Some nice walks nearby through the fields and woods nearby. The food were all good portions. The salad that came with the burger was well dressed with a vinaigrette and the homemade purple coleslaw was very nice. Tasty crisp chips. Beer was Harveys with a cider and lagers on tap and some additional bottles. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had a good time. Was still closed indoors but they have a large marquee out the side to host people and the large garden with a lot of outside tables.

Very disappointing. Stopped for drinks & puddings. Waited ages for our order to be taken, when it arrived the portions were so small for what was being charged & really nothing special. We were asked by the waitress if everything was ok but when we said no there was a complete lack of reaction & no effort to find out why - just cleared our plates & walked off. We won't be going back.

First time visit to The Plough. Booked and sat outside on a scorching day. Under the usual covid rules for the moment. Basically everything was excellent. Four people all enjoyed it. The food was really good. The mussels were exactly right. The staff were really good although a bit stretched because it's a very big garden and so any wait was to be expected under the circumstances. We had a dog with us and that was all fine. I'll definitely be going back. I'm surprised it's took us so long to try the place. The menu has a section for children. The prices are just about the same as anywhere. Certainly enjoyed the three hours in the Plough garden.
