The Plough Inn is a fantastic and friendly little pub at the top of the West Hill...great for both locals and visitors - definitely worth the walk / ride up the hill in the Funicular. Great outdoor garden out the back, which includes a Petanque court, as well as a covered heated area.

Lovely little local pub which is dog friendly with a great beer garden and plenty of seating and bbq. A petanque pitch is equipped with boules - great fun to play! Also giant jenga and a giant connect 4 are under the covered area. Well worth popping in if visiting the West Hill for a walk and the views.

I'd go here again but the night I went it was unfortunately too busy and crammed,(a funeral /wake, a birthday and open mic all on same night!) it's only a little pub, points for serving my favourite beer tho! X

It's not far from the seafront if you don't mind taking the stairs up to the top of the cliff. It's worth it. Just off the lovely green space you come to the pub. The food was way above pub average and my burger and chips were under £10 in 2023! The back garden is a tiny bit scruffy but they have a petanque terrain with boules. The pub itself is light and welcoming. I'm writing all this because I think it deserves to be busier than it was when I went for lunch on a sunny Saturday.

I've been there on a quiz night,so a bit serious the atmosphere but the manager tried her best to accommodate 8 lads with a few to many on board 🙈🤣 and don't disturb the serious quiz player, seating outside also reasonable priced drinks 👍

Fantastic community local, with the best beer garden to catch the sunshine in Hastings. UPDATE Spring 2022. Still the best pub on the West Hill! Overjoyed it's reopened and even better than before. Say hi! to Gerry the landlord from me and you might even be able to get a Sussex half out of him ;) He's doing a great job Weds quiz nights are fun and the legendary Gina from Cushty doing jam nights every Monday night. Very dog friendly too if you've taken your pooch for a walk on the Hill. And they're doing food too, Ploughman's lunches:)

Nice enough little no frills pub with a lovely big garden, we were staying in Gordon Rd so popped in a couple of times. Pleasant and welcoming staff and the beer and cider selection was fine! On our first visit we were going to eat but the only serve pizzas so we headed elsewhere for a wider menu but I'm sure the pizza would've been tasty... One downside though was that on our 2nd visit there were a few smokers under the smokers shelter which you have to walk through to get to the garden, as we both find smoking disgusting walking through a fog of smoke wasnt very pleasant at all! Still, I havent marked down for that...if there had been a breeze there probably wouldnt be a problem!

I had my daughters 2nd birthday party here back in June. It was a brilliant day for the children and the adults. We where aloud to have a bouncy castle in the garden free of charge. (The pub didn't charge us for the space) They also put on a lovely spread which was a very good value for money and everyone enjoyed it. The staff where very nice and welcoming highly recommend it.

We reached this pub by taking the restored Western lift and walking 5 minutes but walking up-hill is an equally good option. There were two ales on offer, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Wye Valley HPA. Both of these were in lovely condition. Whilst this was clearly a locals' pub we were made welcome by the friendly bar staff. Generous outside seating with shaded areas. The toilets were well looked after. There is a cheese raffle every Saturday at 5pm and a meat raffle on Sundays. There is also a regular live music scene. All in all this is one of many reasons to visit Hastings and explore its pubs

We visited the pub to celebrate a birthday party. There is a nice size rear garden, where you can make your own BBQ, you bring the meat, they give the gas BBQ! I have only 4stars not 5, because there wasn't any apple juce, only fizzy one, what my children didn't like. Otherwise excellent place!

We have been member of the club for 6 years . We often go for breakfast but Brenda Andy have retired . The new people are absolute useless first you wait half hour for two breakfasts , to then be told you had not paid for two I went up and said to the lady to which she couldn’t admit it was her mistake , and basically told me and my husband to not come back . I love the club but won’t ever be using them for breakfast ever again shocking young people with chip on shoulders
