The Plough Harborne in Birmingham

I had a wonderful meal at the Plough on a Sunday evening. Went for a roast... However by the time I ordered there was none left! So make sure you're earlier if you want to avoid disappointment in that respect. The chicken burger I had instead was absolutely divine though! So I can't complain at all about the quality of food and service. There was Also a very well prepared quiz taking place at about 7pm which made the evening even more enjoyable! Will definitely be returning.

Prices for drinks is silly half a cider and a pint of shandy £9. Small coke £3.50. Adding a service charge of 10% is taking the mic . You should State this before ordering .

What an amazing place, I had no idea this fantastic family pub existed. It has so many areas and seating for everyone. The food was fantastic, but it was very busy and I did find it difficult to place my order. It wasn't clear whether it was table service or whether you had to order at the bar. But the staff were so friendly and helpful it made up for the wait and confusion. Loved it

80grams of meat for 22.5£ sunday roast… Everything was really tasty though

The stuff is welcoming and friendly, Menu is simple but accommodating, Family friendly and cosy place I had my best fish & chips experience in the west midlands recommended by Nicole (thank you dearly if you reading this) . It was so fresh, tasty and crispy. I am not exaggerating it is the best. First time here but not the last.

Great food and brilliant local beer, Intuition but Attic Brew is my favourite. Pizzas are great and the Caesar salad absolutely slaps. Must visit if you're in Harborne.

Genuinely never expected at the grand old age of 41 to eat the best tasting roast I've ever had in Harborne. But I'm here because it happened. And you should be too.

Recently we were there for breakfast and its price it’s not reasonable at all, they charge us £80 for a weak service and average food.

Ridiculously over priced. My partner and I ended up spending over £80 for breakfast for sheer mediocrity. Further, our waitress was terrible, she order the wrong food and even ordered an additional full English breakfast even though there was just 2 of us. She also took the food away whilst we were eating. I have been coming to the plough for over 8 years but that is the last time. You are taking advantage of what you have.

It's always a pleasure to visit The Plough. I like having a Veggie Brioche for breakfast with free filter coffee.

Everyone at the table agreed the waitress was the best waitress we’d ever had, she was incredibly accommodating and sweet. I wish we got her name, she was the black girl on service between 1-2pm on Sat 29th Sept 2024. I think her shift finished as we were leaving which was just after 3pm. Truly great service. The food, which she recommended, was also great. It was simple enough - just loaded fries but very tasty.

Excellent lunch out at The Plough! We arrived a bit later than our booked time due to traffic but a call ahead with staff sorted the problem and they were very understanding. Food was absolutely amazing, and the service speed was excellent other than a slight delay to our first round of drinks due to ordering at the same time as a walking club arrived. The roast beef was a big hit at our table. It was very busy, but the atmosphere was very nice and not too loud - we will definitely be going back again!

Firstly I must say the staff were nice and friendly. However this does not detract from the overpriced menu served at our table in the back garden in September which was cold to say the least. How much should a poke bowl cost in the midlands? The reviews saying this is 'hip' cannot excuse the poor value, even for Birmingham, which will remain in a culinary dessert for some time if this is the norm.

The staff were pleasant throughout the evening but this does not detract that we were seated outside on a cold September night and received overpriced though basic food. If this is Hip then the Birmingham culinary status has a long way to climb.

We love The Plough as it Consistently serves fantastic food with friendly swift service. We had visitors over from Ireland and wanted to share our favourite pub for food in Harborne. The shepherds pie was absolutely delicious with the best gravy ever. Fish and chips was crisp and the teenagers love the poke bowl and burger. Service was top notch, despite sitting in an alcove out of sight, our waiter regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Fantastic evening as always.

Went there for brunch. The service is great, staff is friendly. We had some warm drinks that were great. The turkish egg was good but it lacked a bit of flavour. Overall great experience.

Our Sunday lunch experience was absolutely beautiful today. I had the mushroom wellington on my roast which was the veggie option and I loved it, so tasty! Everything ran super smoothly, the staff were lovely & very attentive, the overall feel of the pub/restaurant was very relaxing and cosy. We will definitely be back for more food and drinks!

Cosy, Friendly, and Delicious The Plough Harborne is our favourite spot, whether it’s for a dates or a meal with friends and family. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, making it a perfect choice for any occasion. The food is consistently delicious, and the Sunday Roast is a must-try. I recently had one while pregnant and felt completely safe and looked after – no worries at all about the quality or preparation. The staff are brilliant – friendly, attentive, and always making sure you have a great experience. It’s a cosy, homely place we’ll keep returning to.

It was very noisy could not hear each other . The service was poor we had to keep calling our waiter, first to get us menus and then had to call him for our condiments.

Came for here for breakfast. Food was good but unfortunately we had an issue with one dish. Our waiter didn’t charge for the whole meal and drinks, thought that was very fair of him. Would go again as it’s a nice atmosphere and service is good

Went for a Sunday Roast. Lovely portion sizes but a bit overpriced £22.50 and almost £5 for a coke! Roast was so well seasoned and really well cooked beef. Only let down was yorkshire puds dry.

Lovely outdoor space with heaters, we Sat around the corner and it was lovely and private. Go for the Calzone deal - a Calzone and soft drink for a tenner! Will be coming back 😊

The Sunday roast was really nice

So was in for a drink and eat which by the way was great as was the service..noticed two lads in Tuxedo's by bar..one lad was asking everyone if they knew how to tie a real dickie bow..nobody had an idea..he was getting worried...but up steps a young member of staff called I believe Harry...he made it look so simple...and sorted it in seconds....( does anyone know how to tie a bow tie these days...get one with elastic on)...over and above his job I'm sure. Well done that man. UTV

Highlight on the High street for sure! This is a very loved local pub recommended by all who chat with me about Harborne. We love their weekly offerings of 2 for 1. And of course a crowd pleaser is their additional NHS employee discount. Wonderful spot to bring kids and their children’s burger passes my culinary inclined kids’ tough scrutiny. 🤩

I normally go here quite often. Today, the pizza wasn't at all good. Didn't taste well. I like this place the staff is great the ambience is cool. Just today, the pizza wasn't particularly nice.

We have been a number of time to the plough at various times during a Sunday but this was the first time there was no Sunday roasts left on the menu. This was very disappointing so we did not stay as we did not want an alternative. The roast dinners are lovely there and I would have expected there to be roast dinners available at 3.30.

Best Sunday Roast I’ve had. The food is excellent, service is brilliant and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Really busy Sunday lunch and service was a little stretched although staff were cheerful. It was far too hot and we were stuck in a corner, I just didn’t enjoy it that much and I probably won’t return for a while. Just not as good as it could’ve been 😕

Wonderful evening at the Plough to celebrate my son’s 4th birthday. He specifically asked to go there as he loves their Mac & Cheese! We were really well looked after by all the staff and took advantage of the Tuesday night 2-4-1 Burger deal. The staff also bought out the cake we provided for pudding and sung Happy Birthday, the cake arrived on a platter and was decorated really nicely - the staff really did make the evening extra special. Thanks all.

The Sunday Roast is very popular, and with good reason! Beautifully cooked, and the gravy is delicious. Plentiful veg..with option of cauliflower cheese. Overall a very satisfying lunch, in a cracking eatery.

The brilliant Bird Brain quiz brings the punters in evèy Sunday night, but it's the food, drink and service that keeps us coming back. Ace Pizzas, Fish, Chips and Curry Sauce and a Caesar Salad, and lovely service from Poppy, who didn't put a foot wrong all night Thanks Ploughmen and Ploughwomen for looking after us again, particularly Poppy for making it so easy. Quizmaster Ian is the best in the business too!

Great pub food. Been here a few times and I've never been disappointed! Prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality of the food reflects the price. The outdoor area is really nice and there are heaters available for the colder months. Cocktails were also great!

Delicious meal at The Plough and quick service for a Saturday lunchtime. We are in the back garden which is beautiful and well protected from wind so a lovely sun trap. The portions on the sandwiches were huge, fresh ingredients and a great selection of beers on tap!

They do everything right! You pay for it mind. Good beer good food and excellent service.

Food is spot on, service is slow I don’t mind anyone getting a service charge but when the drinks are slower than the food it’s not great. Check back on our food when we had pretty much finished! Lovely place, probably give it a miss next time in Harboune. £7 a for a pint of Peroni.

This is such a consistently quality place, whether for brunch or dinner, the food is great. I sat in the garden at the back recently for brunch and it was a lovely experience, great and very quick service as well but didn't feel rushed.

What a lovely evening, went with friends and the Wife, great staff ten out of ten in particular young lady called Jess behind the bar, very polite and helpful whilst juggling ten jobs. Made us Laugh but clearly works hard and an asset to the pub.

I’ve eaten at the Plough before and really enjoyed it. But yesterday the service was slow. Took an hour for a drink. And my Dad’s food he wasn’t too happy with. It is expensive for what it is, but I enjoyed my food and like the atmosphere

People were great, orders were cooked excellently, portions were far larger than expected. They did miss the 2 for 1 burgers on the day so I ended up paying for both 😕 but they were worth it. I expect a free drink next time to make up for it! 😁

Didn't have a room, just went to eat as a family for a birthday meal. Service was exceptional - thank you, Poppy! Food was lovely. Not as keen on dessert as pictured something different to the description which was also the case when my mother-in-law's food came - different to what described. Nonetheless, tasty food and really nice relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of space, nice toilets, decent parking options on high street or back roads. Good 2 for 1 deals on different days

Calzone's are a bargain at £10 with a soft drink thrown in. Very nice staff and dog friendly

Sunday Night Bird Brain quiz - great fun as always. Ian is an outstanding quizmaster, despite providing the wrong answer to "What is the opening song on the Meat Loaf album 'Bat Out Of Hell'?" It's NOT "You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth", Ian - time to fire your team of researchers!

Very friendly staff and food is one of the best around the city! Veggie breakfast was out of this world delicious!!!

The aesthetics of the venue are outstanding. Great options with different seating areas. Only issue is the steep stairs to the ladies toilets.

I visited the Plough Harborne in October 2023 with my family. I know I am late to post a review about it but here I am with a feedback to share with you all. Firstly, I'd say it's one of the best breakfast spots I've encountered. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a charming mix of modern and rustic decor that creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing morning meal. However, the menu is limited, it offers delightful breakfast options that cater to all tastes. We had coffee with different choices of breakfast. As I am a pure vegetarian (no eggs & fish), I had a vegan toast which was scrumptious and filling. Wherein my family had English breakfast which they really liked. Overall, it's the perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious, high-quality breakfast in a welcoming environment. Highly recommended!

Delicious pizzas, great burrata starter. Lovely atmosphere and staff are nice. Only thing I'd say is that you have to order via QR code/phone or walk to the bar, but then food will be brought to table.

We always enjoy our visits to The Plough, especially those for Quiz Night. Whilst the quiz and service was fantastic as usual, the food was sadly lacking the same standards, especially given its price point. Whilst we knew we were buying a spicy pizza, we didn’t expect it to be so spicy that it made the food almost inedible. Nobody enjoys a pizza that spicy, especially when it almost cost £20! We did give the feedback to one of the staff but it was brushed off with a comment about our ability to handle spice. Given all the other food establishments in the area and the cost of food and drink, far from value for money. Such a shame

Food was great Service was fine. Actually gave me a free glass of fuzz for my birthday 🥳. So appreciated However most tables were left and not cleared. So place looked a mess and not clean. This was in the afternoon. There was a big party in the outside space that most staff were concentrating on

Had a Sunday roast with a large group of people. The table service was very good. I didn’t feel there were enough vegetables to share and the food was cold - a shame as the food was good quality.

If you’re looking for a good pizza deal between Tuesday and Thursday, you can’t beat The Plough. 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine, £40! Service is always great. Atmosphere is buzzy.

We really enjoyed our brunch. We were there for our daughter’s graduation and we ordered two Proseccos. They offered our daughter’s drink on the house, which I thought was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

Everyone enjoyed their Sunday roasts but unfortunately my Veg chilli was very tasteless, desserts were fab, service great in a beautiful setting. Will definitely visit again.
