The Plough Bar & Kitchen in Wandsworth

Hosted a gathering which was excellently catered for - thanks to the team for a lovely afternoon

We visited The Plough for a Sunday roast, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, one order came out wrong, and two of the roasts were missing potatoes. The food itself was okay, but the service left a lot to be desired. There were plenty of staff around, but they didn’t seem very proactive. Overall, we expected much better.

This is an excellent pub and certainly one of the best in the area. I went there on a Friday night with a friend and the staff were all wonderful. Andrea was a warm, friendly and welcoming host from the 'nothing is too much trouble' school of helpful, efficient service. I wish everyone else who does his job would take a few lessons from him. Jasmine (spelling?) was also delightful: friendly and efficient and also great fun to talk to. (My only disappointment was that she's a singer but didn't give us a song. Maybe next time?) The Plough has always been one of my favourite pubs. Great location (just a 2 minute stroll from Clap Junk stn), nice decor, tables not too close together, a good 'something for everyone' bar and a kitchen serving better than average pub food. But the best thing is the high standard of friendly service. This makes all the difference. It's one of the few remaining places where the staff actually seem to care about making you feel welcome and then, once you've sat down, do their best to provide efficient, helpful service with a smile. It's the sort of place that has 'good attitude' written all over it. Well worth supporting.

Lovely pub in a great location. We go there frequently. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and always accommodating of our old dog who is usually in a pram :). The food is very good - love the veggie burger and chicken burger. A friend had the cauliflower dish last night and loved it.

Visited randomly with my other half looking for a place to eat. Beautiful place, with very cheery atmosphere, great food and great selection of beer and classy service! Golden crunchy Aspall Cider battered fish and chips along with delicious pint of Stone&Wood and buttermilk chicken burger were out of this world! We were lucky enough to meet the manager Ladi which is clearly a real asset to this place along with his team! HIGHLY recommend this place!

I live just near by and it’s my favourite spot for Sunday dinner Service is the best you can get around here

We are visiting from New York and came upon the Plough! It is a fantastic place with great food, great coffee, great atmosphere and great service! Very helpful staff and owners and really made us feel very welcome in London. We would highly recommend visiting The Plough.

Our running club booked a large table for a group of us to celebrate after an afternoon of running. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was prompt and attentive. A good selection of nice beer and all in our group who ate were happy.

I really like The Plough. It's a good, well run pub where everyone really tries to make sure customers are happy, looked after and satisfied. Excellent location, just a short stroll from Clap Junk stn. It's nicely laid out, the tables are well spaced and not 'crammed' in together. Good bar offering an excellent range. A busy, efficient kitchen serving up better-than-average pub food. But most of all I just like the spirit and the attitude of all the staff - always welcoming, efficient and friendly.

Good space, easy to get a table. Great music and also not too loud so you can actually talk to each other.

Been going to The Plough for about 4 years & mainly for pre match Chelsea lunch here. Always great, sometimes when in Clapham Junction to return home during the week when working in the area I have popped in for a pint. All staff very friendly, excellent food & overall very relaxed, can’t find anything to fault.

Booked a table of 20 to watch the Euros last night. Ross & his team were excellent during the booking process, answering all my questions and accommodating my GF friend. The pub was packed but all the staff were so friendly and attentive. Food & drinks were delicious, thank you 😀

We celebrated my Mum’s surprise birthday at The Plough, with a large family gathering, and everything was 10/10!!! The place is truly lovely, with lots of natural light, the staff attentive and friendly, the service excellent, and the food was perfect, accompanied by good wine!!! Thank you for making this special moment unforgettable!!!

Great pub with even better food. We celebrated Fathers Day here with a cracking roast, fab desserts and lots of lovely drinks. Staff were attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend

Lovely pub and Jovana is the life and soul of this place. We were there over the weekend and her energy was amazing! She took great care of us.

This was our first visit to the Plough Bar & Kitchen and it certainly won't be our last. The service was amazing and the food was perfect, we no longer have big appetites in our retirement but the menu catered for everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit for my Husbands birthday and will certainly go again (hopefully when the sun is shining).

The Plough is a great, well-run pub suitable for pretty much all social events and occasions. I've been going there for years and have never been disappointed yet. It's in a good location -- only a few minutes up the road from Clap Junk station. It's spacious but warm and welcoming. The staff are switched-on, helpful and responsive and actually seem to care about welcoming everyone and providing excellent service. On this occasion I was meeting up with a few friends for birthday drinks. I booked a table in advance and whoever takes care of these things actually read what I wrote and gave us the type of table I wanted, by the window alongside Strath Terrace. It's nice when pubs actually get these little details right. We could order food and drink either at the bar or via the app, and both methods worked perfectly well. Our server for most of the evening was Sebastian and he was very likeable, helpful and efficient. My friends and I had a very good time and we all intend to visit The Plough again. It's a great pub and whoever is in charge is doing a great job.

Good modern pub/bar with excellent food. Good for small groups or large and the service is top notch. Highly recommended. Nope still a marvellous bar that is gig big and friendly. Go there.

First time here and definitely won’t be the last! It was a busy evening, so that meant that there was a slight delay with food coming out but I understand that these things happen. The service more than made up for it! When the food did arrive, it was quite tasty to a point where my friend ordered the exact same thing for herself after. There was 3 members of staff/management I crossed paths with during my time at The Plough and they were all very friendly - especially a lovely blonde lady who introduced us to Mya! (Mya is her fur baby, what a beauty!) The only reason I’ve had to give 4 out of 5 overall was that the two cocktails I had wasn’t as flavoursome as I was hoping for, but that’s also personal taste. Keep doing your thing The Plough - you’ve got a good thing going.

The ambiance is wonderful! Spacious. Clean. Bathrooms are decent. Great crowd. The food was good. We had Sunday roast! Unfortunately, the Apple crumble dessert was disappointing. It was apple sauce with crumbs on top- literally. However, the service was a delight!

Booked a table for a family lunch. Food arrived quickly even though there were 12 of us, and was absolutely delicious. Service was impossible to fault.

Awesome place, lovely, friendly and pleasant staff. Great fun atmosphere. They still some of the best beers. It's seriously one of the best places to go especially after a stressful work day.

We meet another couple at the Plough for lunch a couple of times a year, which makes 4-5 times in total. Clapham Jct is a convenient midway meeting point and we come by train. Each visit has been excellent, this time was on the 22nd March The food is very good and the staff, which are new each time. are always friendly and attentive - good recruitment policy! Our waitress this time was a hoot and couldn't do enough for us and, as usual we had a super time and are planning another visit in a few months time.

The Plough is a staple of Battersea for great British food and a solid selection of pints. Great spot to watch the Rugby at too.

Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Service, in particular Jovana, was excellent. The staff were friendly, welcoming & extremely helpful and attentive. Loos were spotless.

It's nice, but it's £7.90 a pint (okay, I stand corrected, it's £7.55) -- and the pub is just lovely, really great atmosphere and very nice staff too. It is worth pointing out that Wetherspoon's ale down the road 5 minutes at the Asparagus starts at £1.70... but (as the very cool staff reminded me when I mentioned ) you do have to sit in a Wetherspoon to get that price. I think the issue is that Wetherspoon is x4 times cheaper, but not necessarily x4 as bad. Or even, is the very nice Plough x4 times better than a Wetherspoon?

Had the roast pork, described as coming with crackling which was none existant. Potatoes were undercooked aswell. Mentioned to waiting staff who said they would give feedback to the kitchen.

£17 for a cheeseburger and chips, and another £7.50 for a pint of beer causes sticker shock! That said, the place has a very nice atmosphere, the tables were very clean and the food was tasty, great quality and a decent portion. The barman Alfie have a really nice greeting and even recommended me a beer that I preferred to my usual. Bathrooms were also above average. Overall, I'd come again, but only on payday. Thanks Alfie!

Stylish interior and welcoming staff. However a pub should serve at least 1 real ale to be worthy of the name and sadly the Plough does not.

Went to The Plough for my mums birthday 10/10 Service Food was great!

We were given the small room off to the side of the pub which was perfect bar the speaker being a bit too loud in the room which made it a bit difficult to hear each other whilst chatting. Otherwise it was a great spot!

Girls' night out and our regular place has closed its doors, so we took a chance on The Plough and were not disappointed. We can't fault it....the service was excellent, with a great atmosphere and delicious food. This will now be our new regular place.

Matt leads a faultless team. their attention to detail is second to none, able to support with water bowl for the dog, top up when you are empty and remembered my order! Popped in for a coffee and it was a treat! nice range of non alcoholic beer and safe to say I'll be back!

Brilliant pub, the nicest staff of any pub in the area. General manager is a true legend. I often come in to work during the day, great coffee and lunch, then stay for drinks after. Warm, welcoming, a true gem.

Matt and the team are wonderful! Great hospitality every time we’re in there. Coffee is good, PFC burger is always good. And Guinness well poured. Make sure you stop in!

Some mates and I came down to The Plough recently, it was my first time there but I will definitely be coming back! The food is great and staff are lovely, especially our server Mia, nothing was too much to ask, super friendly and bubbly. Would 100% recommend :)

We went to the Plough on Christmas Day. After some bad experience eating out elsewhere on previous Christmas Days our expectations were pretty low, but this place was great. All of the staff seemed happy to be there and they provided a great service, very fun to be around. Our pre ordered food arrived very promptly, lovely presentation, tasted great. Really couldn’t ask for much more! Thank you :)

This was unexpectedly one of the best bars in SW London due to very friendly service (the red-head bar tender is a gem), cleanliness and nice atmosphere, especially the lighting and decor. Would definitely go back!

Had a very poor experience for my works christmas party. Food was poor quality and the service not much better. Courses were served miles apart and staggered. Forgot to serve desert - would still be waiting until next Christmas for this.

Nice lovely pub but the chicken roast I had today was very disappointing. The chicken was over cooked, shrivelled and very dry. The cauliflower cheese also very bland sadly. Quiz there is always great fun on Sundays though. Just to add, I sent an email regarding this and no one has gotten back to me.

One of my favourite pubs in Clapham- unfortunately our last visit was a bit of a car crash - we had reserved a table and upon arriving the table had used crockery on it, which we had to clear ourselves and then track down someone to clean the table, which took a while The menu is fairly limited with around 6 or 7 mains, and when we went to place our order both the dishes we wanted to order were “out of stock” leaving burger or cauliflower as options. So we gave up and left! Hopefully this was a one off!

Nice, modern pub a few minutes from Clapham Junction. Have been past before but never been in until yesterday afternoon. My loss! Lovely looking food (didn't eat myself), good beers and super friendly staff.

Honestly awful. Barely any staff on a full Sunday lunch service- the food was so so bland. How you can call it ‘the ultimate roast’ 1 no seasoning, no flavour, and not cheap! Staff that were on service were extremely friendly, couldn’t fault them personally there was just not nearly enough staff to go around.

The food at the pub was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. Spoke to one of the staff called Ross who was welcoming and helpful and overall we had a great experience. Will definitely be back!

Booked a table for dinner and to watch the rugby. Nice place! With a wide screen and plenty of tv's, it made watching the rugby a good event!

Have been to The plough several times for their Sunday roast which were always amazing . Brought my friend as it was her birthday and we were so disappointed. Food was cold, my chicken was bloody, roast potatoes were not even roasted and just looked boiled The carrots were so raw we couldn’t eat them. We did complain and we were brought some hot potatoes on a plate but they were also hardly roasted We felt very hungry when we left I paid over £100 for a meal we did not eat, so so disappointed

We arrived and were handed a very extensive menu only to be told that there were only two items available - burgers! We waited over 40 minutes to be served extremely average food with inedible chips they were so greasy! There was no apology and quite frankly it felt like too much trouble! Never again!

We visit the plough regularly for drinks and food but our experience today was dreadful. The waiting staff Marta & Mia were lovely and very helpful but when our food came out cold we had to send it back and amazingly when it was returned it was colder than the first time. We had to explain again that it was worse and all the waiting staff could do was apologise and take the food off our bill as it was inedible. Apparently the kitchen staff are too young, inexperienced and sensitive to take simple criticism that the food they serve needs to be warm or hot so the serving staff were powerless to rectify the situation. Such a sad situation for a usually lovely venue.

Sorry customer service was so poor we left. It was my friends birthday and she said she wanted to leave because she felt so unwelcome. Nobody bothered to engage with us and we literally felt like we didn't exist. The guy at the bar did not even say bye as we were leaving...had a face of I couldn't care less...oh well their loss. Hated the experience and will not be coming here again.

Great pub for those days when the weather starts to turn. Not as rammed as the ones on Northcote road or tucked away as much as others. Also it's a Young's pub so all in all a safe bet.
