Went for a drink, haven't been for years, still has a great atmosphere and friendly service. Not as quirky as it used to be but a great local pub, will be back soon

Best local pub we could ask for. Amazing staff and always a wonderful crowd. We come here on weekly basis to play some food and play some games. Looking forward to the next Parma night!

The Cat's Back is a hidden gem in Wandsworth with much more than meets the eye at first. First, It sells Harveys beer. For those who do not know, Harveys is a Lewes, Sussex based brewery making, perhaps, the best real ale in the country. Don't believe me? Well, you'll have to go and try :) Having an outlet in London, tucked away by the river is wonderful. Second, while the exterior may seem ordinary, The Cat's Back has the super comfortable and eclectic 'Lion's Den', on the first floor - a lounge area with overstuffed leather sofas, steamer trunk tables and a cozy fire. Very relaxed indeed. Third, the pub is a sometime haven for Australians with 'parma nights' and Australian 'beer' (ahem). Food figures a lot in the pub, with select events on Wednesdays, including the aforementioned parma, wings night (all you can eat - yummy), and once a month guest chef from the local area. The staff are professional and fun, and I always enjoy going. Very glad to have this little gem near me.

An outstanding Sunday Roast- Lamb was cooked to perfection. Staff in here are excellent: it a lovely, warm and welcoming pub. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Great Aussie Chicken Parmy night, shame they'd run out of Tim Tams and Shapes for the meal deal but we'll definitely be back!

Great staff, they were a little swamped on our visit so getting drinks was difficult. They also run out of VB, Tim Tams and Shapes on their Parmy Night. They underestimated the Australians hunger for their staple foods 😂

Traditional pub with a modern feel. There is a lovely outside area at the back and a lounge upstairs with large, comfy sofas and a pool table. Very friendly staff. It's just 50 metres off the Thames path and it's well worth popping in for a drink.

We hired out the Lion's Den for a hen-do and had such an amazing time. Not only was the venue perfect for our party, but I felt that the staff truly went the extra mile for us. The communication was excellent when we were setting up the logistics beforehand, and everyone involved before, and on the day, was very friendly, and eager to help us to make the day extra special for our lovely bride-to-be.

Now there are the sorts of pubs that, in my experience, have gone missing in recent times. A very distinctive atmosphere that almost forces you to chill out. And the very friendly barmaid only reinforced this. An absolutely wonderful place. It's quite small but very clean and tidy with an upstairs room with pool table and an outdoor area out the back. The Guinness was excellent as was the Harvey's Sussex Best. Come and experience it for yourself. And they play excellent music

It gives you a bit of Alice in wonderland feeling when you enter this pub. Very unexpected decoration and atmosphere. We loved it. The terrace is nicely hidden as well.

The only place in south west London that feels like a proper Surrey pub - great atmosphere, log fire, great ales, and a pool table upstairs. Bar staff are a great laugh as well, not much at all to complain about!

I recently moved to Wandsworth and I couldn't be happier to find such a nice local pub just 2 min walk from my flat. The pub style is really unique, great beers and very good Sunday roast and burgers. If you live in the area or pass by, this is definitely a must for a pint on the go (or even two!).

Lovely pub and excellent service. Nice little garden at the back. Just a shame the pool table wasn't available and the Aussie beers were quite pricey (imports for you)! Recently went again for the parmi deal, great value and service was so quick!

We held my 40th birthday at The Cat’s Back and it was unbelievable. Craig and the team could not have been more welcoming and the pub was set up beautifully for us. All of our friends and family had a fantastic time and have been raving about the venue since. We also had party food provided and again it was great. Honestly don’t have a bad word to say about the place!

Went to the curry pop up night but was delicious food. Drink selection was great and the seating in the beer garden was very comfortable.

The Cat’s Back is a cozy pub near a park and the river. The bar staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I occasionally go there because a friend lives nearby. Today, I had dinner there for the first time. I was told that they recently changed the menu to burgers and pizza which, as far as I am concerned, is the ideal pub food. I ordered the Flaming Galah Burger, which arrived after a short wait. It was absolutely delicious. The burger came with chips that were crisp on the outside but with an inside that melts in your mouth - and with coleslaw which was fresh and crunchy. The burger was spicy but just with the right amount of spice. I would definitely go there again for the food alone. Not only was the burger delicious but for a pub in such a good location the price was also incredibly fair: £10. I noticed that they don’t do desserts. A tiramisu would have been nice. in the end we had a delicious peanut butter whisky.

Best pub in London, just quietly

Both as a destination pub and a friendly local, it's hard to look further than the Cat's Back. Tucked away in Point Pleasant, which is close to Wandsworth Town and Riverside Quarter Wharf, this pub serves excellent Harvey's ales and a great range of other beers, wines and spirits. The food offering is currently Latin American themed with a number of well priced and delicious options on the menu. Service is friendly and efficient with the overall management of the pub clearly on top of its game. The inside and outside areas are both attractive and there is a semi-private pool room upstairs. Moreover, for Platinum Jubilee the pub will be organizing a "street party" on the Friday and Saturday with live music.

Very cosy pub - upstairs was very cool as well with a pool table and some comfortable chairs. Not only this but there was even an arcade machine downstairs! Drinks a bit expensive, but reasonable for such a great setting.

I used to come to this pub back in 1990 when they named it the cats back when Roger was the landlord and it was amazing place that no one new about the pub a friendly place to eat and drink love it

Lovely English pub, popped in for a drink and rest while walking the Thames walk. Good choice of beers and wine, had a glass of Marlborough NZ Sauv Blanc which was great! Comfy lounge chairs to relax back in, friendly, efficient service.

I went for a drink here and it's changed a lot recently. Used to be a charming old local. Now it's been revamped, and is more like a bar than a pub. Still decent, just not what I was expecting. For example, creaky wooden stools have been replaced with black leather swivels, lighting has been turned down etc.

I love this pub! Their new collaboration with Streat Latin Arepas is a win-win for me. I usually go to eat at their other site in street cube Wandsworth. I had the best enchiladas with a Camden pale ale and churros for dessert. What else could you ask for!? The staff is super friendly and there’s always a great atmosphere. Highly recommended

Cute little pub off the beaten track, good selection of ales and lagers on tap, quite a unique and cosy atmosphere with a little beer garden hidden at the back of the building, just a short walk to Wandsworth Park and the Thames River path. We'll worth a visit if one fancies a hussle free, pleasant visit down a quirky lovely little pub.

Quiet, cosy, out of the way pub. Harvey's tied, but with a reduced range, no mild. Food is good but the mains are slightly pricey. They play music but it's not obtrusive.

Having tried numerous pubs in West London the search is over, this is the only place to go for a Sunday lunch, honestly hands down the best I have ever eaten. Oh and good beer on tap as well!
