Stayed here for 2 nights, absolutely lovely location. Food brilliant and the service brilliant too. Breakfast was included in the room price and what a lovely breakfast it was!!. Value for money, we would love to visit again and thank you to all the team and landlord for giving us a brilliant few days.

Good pub to stop for refreshment when walking the Ridgeway. The multiple pictures of David Cameron, however, are a little odd.

Lovely old style pub, used to go there all the time, but this time was for a personal friend, it was like being back in the 70s

Really excellent friendly staff and excellent beers. We were here with our Morris side, dancing yesterday afternoon. The audience were very friendly and the pub is in a lovely setting. Lovely big car park too.

Overcooked beef and lamb shanks. Very tough. Broccoli barely cooked . Soggy roast potatoes and entire meal was tepid. Only ate half. Very disappointing. And not cheap. Last time food was very good. Maybe change of chef?

Popped in for a coffee before a walk up the hill. Well located cosy little pub. Loved the traditional decor and feel, definitely on my list to come and try the food as I was impressed.

Just had a Sunday roast, hands down the best Sunday roast I’ve had at a pub! The service, food and the area is all so nice! Well worth a visit, especially when you want some good food!

Great spot to stop if doing the Ridgeway, worthwhile especially walking east to west as you won't see another pub for a while. Good selection of drinks, but didn't stay for food unfortunately. Fantastic atmosphere and loads of room in the beer gardens also!

First visit in 34 years, so I was first pleased to see that the Plough is still there and secondly they still did food. I had a wonderful pint of beer and ordered the Ham, Eggs and Chips. The ham was the best and thickest I've had since 1997 and that was on the Channel Islands, so certainly the best on mainland Britain. The eggs and chips were great as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope to return soon.

Lovely pub location but food really expensive: basic pub grub at mad gastro prices. I had the 3 bean chilli and it was definitely microwave bag rice and some pre-made sugary chilli…for £18.95! You’d get the same quality dish in weatherspoons for half that. If you’re charging £18.95 - that better be some banging home cooked chilli and rice.

I went there yesterday for lunch with my wife, 2 children and two adult friends. The food was okay but a bit pricey for what it was. The service was average; we waited on more than two occasions to get some attention and order. My main issue was that my daughter’s meal was brought out last (instead of first, which in my opinion should be the standard for children’s meals).

The parking is a tad expensive at £9. The rooms are clean and tidy as is the Premier Inn standards. Reception is bright and breezy . Becareful of the lifts as one has two sets of controls but not clearly communicated that one will not work unless you have a key.
