This is a very pleasant pub with great food. We always make a point of visiting when we are staying on the Gower. Staff are always pleasant and helpful and on this occasion we were looked after very well by Matilda. The mocktails were great fun and made up for not being able to have a drink when driving. Food is well -cooked with good options. Excellent choices for vegetarians, vegans and GF as well

Great choice of food on the menu, lovely atmosphere, really affordable. We were staying nearby in an Airbnb and popped in for some dinner. BEST DECISION OF THE TRIP. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. The welcome was warm and they agreed to serve us dinner even though it was after 8pm, which was so kind of them and saved us a 45 minute drive! The service was brilliant - they couldn't do enough for us. We had delicious hunters chicken and fish and chips which was all clearly homemade. For dessert we had freshly baked brownies made by the lovely owner. that morning. It was a wonderful evening. We got chatting to the owners who were really warm and funny. We honestly would come back to this area of Wales just to check in for lunch or dinner one night and enjoy this spot again. Also, super helpful big car park directly opposite, and loads of great scenery everywhere around.

I preferred it when the previous owners had it. Food was much nicer and they knew how to treat their customers and staff. Seem to have a lot of young people working there? Maybe to save some£. Poor Sunday dinner. Just isn’t the same anymore. Won’t be returning.

I visited this restaurant today and was so disappointed with the carvery. Compared to the prices other businesses charge, I feel they are overpriced and the standard is extremely low. The two owners rely on young workers, they look 15 at the most. The place is grubby and looks very worn down. I would not reccomend this place at all. Overall the food is poor as well as the atmosphere. Very disappointed, do NOT waste your money visiting.

We were staying for a week at a nearby B&B and ate at the Plough and Harrow twice. This pub has apparently had a troubled past with various owners but the present team have been in charge for 3 months. They were really welcoming and friendly and are starting to win back customers it seems. The food was good, old fashioned pub fare at a great price and cooked to order. We liked it so much we went back for a second evening and were not disappointed. If you are looking for gastopub food this is not for you but if you want your meals straightforward and with good portions you won't be disappointed. They have various themed nights and we were there for pie and curry night offering two mains for £12 which was excellent value. Would definitely recommend and to support the new owners as they make a go of this new venture.

Meat was good as were the roast potatoes. Carrots weren’t peeled and were very rubbery, as if they had been microwaved. For £9.95 I would have expected more choice of meat, and vegetables, at least cauliflower cheese. The food was on slightly warm. Thought we would give it a try as new managers in, will have to wait and see, hopefully they will receive some advice from Marcia about the food.

Booked our Christmas Party here last Friday evening and we thoroughly enjoyed. The carvery is the best around, meat that melts in your mouth. Was a shame to witness members from another party which happens to be a tractor business situated down the road from this pub verbally assault all the staff there that evening. Considering were all supposed to supporting local businesses it was disgusting to witness their behaviour. However, they are renowned for this it seems. A small pub like this, coping under pressure during the busy Christmas period providing lovely pub grub and good service. Nothing more, nothing less than that. Da Iawn chi, fyddwn ni nol. DJ

We’ve been celebrating our Christmas functions at this pub for close on 40 years and tonight will be the last. We were presented with a £850 bill and we disputed it. While voicing our opinion the lady manager called the police. 4 police officers turned up!!! When we eventually calculated the bill it was half the original amount. We were only 15 in the party, 2 children, 5 were driving so only 8 were drinking. Most of us only had 3-4 drinks max. I’m really sad to have to leave this review but it was so bad that I felt it’s necessary. I would like to add that we were in the conservatory and it was like an ice rink due to condensation. Also from the moment we arrived the lady manager was rude. She accused me of causing trouble when I had only just arrived. On the positive the waitresses were very polite and helpful.

The Sunday dinner carvery was tasty but could have done with more choice of veg and a more generous portion of meat. At £9.25 each, it was well over priced. Dessert menu was limited. The Mint Aero Sundae was a joke, half a sundae glass of bland ice cream with a dollop of cream on top. Presentation very poor and unimaginative. Staff seemed friendly but I won't return as this visit was just average.

Just come back from a family meal out with my four year old and hubby and i absolutely had to come straight onto TripAdvisor and leave my review. I live just up the road from this pub and have never been but have heard many good things about the food. Tonight we decided just to pay a visit purely for the beer garden/play area but ended up having dinner, desert and one too many glasses of wine! The staff were fantastic - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I was actual disappointed for them that the place was quiet as i felt that they deserved far more custom than what they had. The food was outstanding, all fresh & home cooked and you could absolutely tell. It was delicious and i cleared my huge plate full. I was actually quite surprised that my hubby enjoyed his meal and didn't complain about the price as he is usually so picky!! My 4 year old ate her chips (which she normally won't touch but they looked amazing) and then entered her own little world as she wolfed down a chocolate fudge cake without stopping. The play area - although a little unkempt was probably one of the best out of any local pub around, it certainly kept her entertained. We will most definitely be returning and i'm sure we will fast become locals to this amazing little gem in the countryside. Definitely worth a visit!!!

As soon as my wife and I walked into the plough we were welcomed with open arms .... Roger the bar man aka the landlord was very pleasant with us whilst the restaurant was packed with customers.. As soon as we got our drinks we were shown to a table by a lovely waitress who was kind and curtious toward my wife and I ... We walked up towards the cavery and we were warmly greeted by the lovely Marcia who asked us where we were from and did we visit the premises before that day... We had 3 choices of meat which looked fabulous... The plate was hot and all the vegetables looked lovely and plenty of choice... Whilst we were eating a lovely blonde waitress asked us how our food was and did we want extra gravy boat for our tables ... As we finished our food we were asked if we wanted pudding but we declined as were full from our food ... We finished our drink and paid and were greeted out by the owners and the waitresses.. We totally will call back in the near future and hopefully roger and Marcia will stay for a long time there ...

We were treated by our neighbours, who had prebooked this, the staff were aware that my daughter was vegatarian. Not only had they prepared vegatarian sausages, but her own gravy as well as highlighting the items that had been prepared in vegatable fat. I chose both meats, and observing the sign hanging on the counter resulted in a generous serving. My son is somewhat shy and nervous in new surroundings, and one of the staff helped him chose his servings and carried the plate to the table for him. Just these extra service touches would have earned a five star from me. The food was great, and as for the strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake....fantastic

Only a 5 minute wait and there was a choice of roast beef, roast pork or both carved by a very nice lady. We helped ourselves to the assortment of vegetables and gravy. The meal was delicious and perfectly cooked, the gravy was very tasty and we were asked during our meal if we would like a gravy boat on the table.
