The plough in Newark and Sherwood

We were looking for somewhere to eat that was dog friendly, had a garden and some vegan options! Staff friendly and helpful, welcomed our dogs and brought a bowl of water for them. Food, traditional pub food, nothing fancy, reasonably priced. Music was rather loud though!

Hey, I'm local and haven't eaten here for a few years, no reason. My colleague suggested because he was visiting from the Peaks and had a dog. Blown away. Food excellent, staff very down to earth friendly. I know I will be back.

We've been coming here maybe once a week for about 4 or 5 years and over that time it's been OK. Recently though it's definitely raised it's game. The food is simple pub fare, but it's nicely presented, affordable and there's plenty of it. There are always families with kids, so they clearly feel safe and relaxed, which wasn't always the case in the past. One day, we'll try the live music, but for now it's enough for a drink or 2 and some food.

My daughter and I came to the Plough for dinner and dessert to celebrate my birthday. The menu had a great choice, we were attended to immediately and it was not long before the food came out to the table. It was piping hot and very tasty. Dessert was also good. Under new Managers and are back up to serving wonderful food Read the recent reviews not the old ones. I would highly recommend The Plough, great atmosphere and band on too. Excellent service and excellent food could not fault it. Staff friendly and helpful too.

Excellent friendly service from the landlord as always. Had the Mac & cheese with Piti Piti chicken topper, super tasty & piping hot. Highly recommend.

Nice spot to visit right on the river Witham. The pub is a good place to get an inexpensive bite to eat and have a pleasing drink or two. Easily accessed from the road or even the riverbank, The Plough is a decent enough pub tucked away on the edge of Lincoln.

Could be a great place but they really should clean the conservatory area properly. Heaven knows how long those cobwebs above us have been there,and whether they have fallen on any food.

Called in last night for a quick meal , Fancied fish and chips and can honestly say one of the best pub fish and chips I’ve had , My husband had the ultimate spicy burger and he loved it too . Well done to The Plough great for a drink and food and a big thanks to Michelle for Looking after us soo well .

A nice restaurant area, friendly staff & nice meals, though Gammon tough, chips were fresh & crispy. Server collecting plates at the end of our meals was friendly & polite, saying she'll pass on my comment. At the time, the music was loud, making it uncomfortable to hold a conversation across the table, walking though the bar it was still noticeably loud!!

Tried the new breakfast menu today, had eggs Benedict. It was reasonably priced, service was quick, and the cooking was spot-on. Hope they keep the breakfast menu going forward. :-)

Really nice lively atmosphere in the pub. To be honestly never realised they did food. Being dog friendly as well as the nice touch of a dog menu was a total bonus. The food was really good and was all eaten. The dog left a few veggies though. I'm on the worst diet ever so could only have steak and salad. Top marks to the chef that went to the effort of making it look dead dead posh. Will definitely be back.

17 of us visited The Plough for a birthday lunch for my brothers 60th Birthday. All the meals came out together and everyone was happy with their food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Last weekend this pub held a weekend long drum & bass rave that went on for 13 hours a day, starting at 12pm and going on until 1am each day. The noise was horrific and even living almost half a mile away was unbearable, with one of our household members dealing with a migraine at one point and unable to sleep or get any peace from the noise. I have no idea what people with children trying to put them to bed did. When calling the pub and explaining the effect their rave was having on the community, we were told that they had turned it down (the noise was the exact same level so that was hard to believe) and that they'd "take it inside at 9pm". With the doors still wide open, the noise was the exact same at this point, and it still continued until the middle of the night. Everyone living here was furious and I'd certainly not go there for a visit after the lack of respect shown to the neighbourhood.

We spotted cockroaches, mold on the ceiling, and the food was undercooked. The staff were rude and a fight broke out at the bar as we were. eaving. what a dump.
