The Dapper Spaniel in Newark and Sherwood

First time I ordered a takeaway and my order was not accepted and declined as informed by Just Eat. Ordered well before 4pm but took until gone 6pm for them to decline.

We have visited The Dapper Spaniel on a few occasions now and have never been disappointed. The food is very reasonably priced for the standard and quality of the dishes. The Sunday lunches are the best I've had, and it's nice to go out and not have standard 'pub grub' but something of restaurant quality in a lovely village pub.The staff are friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere in the pub is very relaxed.I highly recommend The Dapper Spaniel, and I feel it is definitely worth the extra travel as we live outside of Nottinghamshire.We look forward to coming back soon

Live music, great company, very good food - all in all a top night (again) at the Dapper Outdoor Live Lounge.

We popped into the Dapper Spaniel for dinner during our weekend away in the surrounding area. It was about halfway around our walking route (Fiskerton-Morton-Rolleston) so was a perfect rest stop for a few pints and a bite to eat.The staff were lovely and very helpful. They always made sure we had everything we needed and were very welcoming. Our little pooch had a great time as well!The food was great and they had plenty of veggie/ vegan options for us awkward herbivores - not always easy to find in more rural areas. The pints were perfect The pubs accommodating nature, delicious food and drink (as well as the fact it was slinging it down outside) kept us in there all afternoon enjoying ourselves. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Still continuing the eat out to help out we visited here on Friday night with an expectation that maybe the food wouldn't be so good as they are taking a hit on profit. How wrong we were. Most of our table had the Braised Beef Ballotine which we all agreed was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it in any way, one of those meals were you don't want to talk, you need to savour the food. The service was perfect, not in your face but there if wanted and very professional/ friendly.Lovely evening.

Went there as part of the eat out to help out offer. We had a mixture of steaks and pizzas between us. Steak was cooked perfectly and the pizzas were a good size. With all the covid restrictions we were nervous about going out. Especially after our experience elsewhere. Their procedures in this respect were really good and we were able to easily relax.I would recommend this place to anyone.

We visited during eat out to help out so the meal was effectively half price but it was still not worth it.The service was pleasant and efficient. The starter and dessert were ok but the main course was a burger which was terrible. The burger was like dried rubber and had no caramelisation as if it had been boiled or microwaved. It was the worst burger I have ever had, cheap and nasty. It had smoked brisket with it and that had no smoky flavour and was one third yellow fat. The supposed “ triple cooked chips” appeared to be frozen chips. We were given someone else’s bill.I will definitely not be returning.

Came here the other day for dinner and had a really lovely evening. Such a nice atmosphere! Service amazing, all the staff are so helpful and friendly with a smile on their face at all times, and the food was delightful! Used the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and got 3 courses for £10!! Amazing. Love the fact that it's dog friendly also. :) Would definitely recommend to others, and visit again myself!

My husband and I visited on the steak and seafood night. All of the food was beautifully cooked, well presented, and perfectly portioned. It was obvious a lot of care and detail had gone into the menu, we can’t wait to go back again!The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was well spaced out and cleanly. A brilliant experience all round.

How many times could you go to one restaurant and or pub and never have a bad experience. Hardly likely to happen, right ? . “ Wrong ! “ The Dapper have never failed to get everything and anything spot on. My daughter in laws birthday this week and the restaurant was buzzing. Food they had was fantastic. Covid secure with all the measures to ensure you feel comfortable and well looked after. We also had a Takeaway again today for the best Sunday lunch around. Delivered hot and the portions are huge. Delicious food. You have to try it, because your seriously missing out if not.

We called in for a few drinks in the beer garden the night before last night. I was a little concerned that the waiter who brought the drinks to our table had no gloves, no face covering, and took the glasses off the tray and put them on the table in front of each of us. Neither were our names or contact details recorded. We have been to a couple of other bars in recent weeks and all staff had gloves and face coverings, and our details were taken. Neither were any of them allowed to touch the glasses, simply put the tray on the table and stepped straight away until we had removed them. I would hope for a little more care from such a highly rated establishment. Incidentally, we did not have food, but there were other diners seated outside so the same staff served them too.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our food, we went for the takeaway option, which was perfect for us. I had the beef and marrow burger and my husband had the chicken burger, both were fantastic. In fact, my burger was one of the best I've had! We pre-ordered via the website, collection was easy, the food was hot and I would say it was excellent value.We will most definitely be back.

One of the best restaurants around for a takeaway through all of the lockdown. The The service is exceptional. Food piping hot and fab choices. DELIVERED Highly recommend the Sunday Lunch its scrumptious.I am glad its local too. After recommendation from 2 of our friends we decided to order a Sunday lunch takeaway. We ordered and paid online which was really easy. Great menu to choose from and plenty of delivery slot time’s available. The food turned up exactly on time by a friendly delivery driver. We had ordered a beef and lamb Sunday lunch , delivered in environmentally friendly paper carrier and all the other packaging was recyclable. Both meals were delicious with loads of veg and amazingly tasty gravy! We will definitely be heading over to the dapper spaniel for food in the near future now pubs/restaurants are opening up again .

Booked B&B at this place for a night as part of a birthday gift for my son in the week before lockdown. I am so disappointed that it turned out to be so poor.The accomodation is in a separate building and the bar closed at 8.30pm. So turfed out into accomodation (no mention of this on the website when i booked). Despite having explained that he needed breakfast at 8.30 and booking this the previous evening when he got up the building was locked the chef still in the shower upstairs from him. He had to leave via a fire escape. Not sure this is even safe...The pub was also locked and after waiting 15 mins he had to leave or be late to his course. I provided feedback to the pub but no apology or refund so i would suggest on reading reviews the food may be ok but the hospitality less so...

We ordered a meal for two for our anniversary. It was delivered piping hot in fantastic packaging which allowed us to make our own plates look amazing. The scallops were fresh and sweet and the main course fillet steak and accompanying veggies were all perfect with the silkiest jus. Thanks dapper team!!

I write this review,because I want everyone to know just how great the service is. Plus the people behind the place, go over and above to help. The Sunday lunch is fantastic and great value for money. Even more so, when it’s delivered hot and ready to eat to your door. Everyone needs to try the restaurant and definitely the takeaway service. recommended. Thank you to the owners, Karl and Kat for everything you do to support our clients and us with great food.

If I could write two separate reviews for one stay I would. Arrived and the staff were lovely and the door was fab, dinner was great, I booked in to have breakfast at 8.30 and left everything in my room fab. The pillows were the best and the bed was uncomfortable but the decor was lovely. I woke up and went down for breakfast at 8.30 to find all the doors were locked and no lights on, I tried the front door and the side room, I walked around the building to see if I could see anyone, I phoned the pub multiple times, but this point it was 5 minutes to 9 knowing I had to leave at 9 to get to my first meeting of the day, so leaving with no breakfast, unable to settle my tab and very annoyed, this ruined the whole experience for me. Don’t say yes to someone having breakfast at 8.30 I’d you can’t provide for them. Absolutely appalled and never had an experience like this before. Would not be returning and would not recommend for people traveling for work. Extremely upsetting as now having to go without breakfast.

Left the Magna Carta in Lincoln after their 4th error and had the most delicious Sunday lunch. Well worth the slight detour. Wish this pub was closer to where I live. Beer was also 1st class

We visited today for the first time for lunch and absolutely loved the whole experience. The warm hospitality on arrival, great table service, and the food was absolutely spot on. We had a main course and dessert and every mouthful was simply divine and beautifully presented. We were spoilt for choice off the menu. It's dog friendly too which is a massive plus point for us and they made our dog feel very welcome too. Thank you very much and we definitely be back.

Had the afternoon tea booked through Groupon, first time visit. There was a good selection of sandwiches and cakes, however as other reviews have stated most of them were rather dry. I don’t think the bread was stale, but it seemed like the sandwiches had been kept in the fridge and dried out.

My daughters 16 birthday party went so smoothly because everyone was fed well, Karl came and deliverd at 9.30pm. The food was gone by 9.45, they all liked it so much.

Fantastic takeaway service. Used for my staff, guests and family. Simple to order, delivery on time and the quality of the food the same as eating in the restaurant. Great price too. I highly recommend you trying it.

I did book through groupon playing £11 pound instead of £22 however would have thought it would still mirror the menu on the website. We didn’t even get offered a cup of tea at all. The bread was dry, we all just eat the middles of the sandwiches and we were put in the bar which had stains on the seats until mum asked if we could be moved into the restaurant. This was a real shame as it was for my grandmas 85th we did also buy 2 bottles of wine at £22.50 so wasn’t as if we didn’t spend much in total. Just felt it was very poor. Alex

What a disappointment. We were so looking forward to this treat brought by our daughter for Christmas. There was nothing to like. Sandwiches were not as advertised and were very basic on dry stale bread. No soar dough or granary just plain white or brown value loaves of bread. Fillings were not as advertised just very basis, cheese and tomatoe, cream cheese and cucumber and brought ham and mustard. No rare beef or smoked salmon or hand carved ham. Scones were hard and dry and clearly not freshly made. Jam was not homemade as advertised but was clearly a value jar at approximately 25p for a large jar. The big NO NO for us was that there wasn't any Cornish Clotted Cream this had been replaced with a very synthetic over sweetened concoction. I appreciate it was brought on a Groupon deal but surely you would go all out to impress in the hope that customers would get a taste of what your about and come back for a meal. We mentioned to the waitress about the cream and scones but nothing was said and no apology made. This is one place I would avoid

We stayed here as we were working locally last weekend. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

I have stayed here on three occasions now, each visit been a pleasure, You always get a friendly welcome from all the staff whether back or front of house, The bar area is always kept clean and tidy, There is a good menu to choose from with the quality of the food suburb, the rooms are of a good size, with plenty of storage for hanging clothes, rooms are clean and tidy, with fantastic shower facilities, this along with the comfy beds gives you a good nights rest,

We have been a few times. Each of those the food was excellent. The front of house staff really try to make it right and are extremely pleasant, but it’s sadly missing on atmosphere. We hope they get it right and that the chef’s partner is a little less aggressive if comments are made to help them. We wish them well .

50 plus people from Rolleston turned up for Xmas dinner on the evening of Sun 22 Dec . A fantastic night, excellent food, brilliant service, and great singer. Karl and team were asked to come out to receive a round of applause !

Booked hotel as it’s in walking distance to Southwell racecourse. Nice little hotel, room was ok, but my wife would have liked a mirror. Breakfast and staff were great. The bar shut a little early, but we intend to stay again.

We have visited The Dapper Spaniel on various occasions as we live locally. On our first visit I noted that there were bbq pork ribs on the menu. I queried if this was a rack, half rack or how many ribs were in a portion, to gauge if a starter would be too much. I was told there were three or four ribs, but was assured they were large - which indeed they were, and they were very tasty. We then took friends at a later date, and again I ordered the ribs. I was a little disappointed to have two much smaller ribs appear on my plate, but accepted that possibly over time they had adjusted portion sizes due to feedback from other diners. They were still tasty though. The final straw came when my husband and I rang up to see if we could get a table for two on a Saturday night. The lady in the phone said I will just check to see if we can squeeze you in, which as it was a Saturday night I thought a possibility. The lady came back with one slot, so we gratefully took it as we were hungry. When we got to the pub a waitress was walking into the bar area with two plates of food which were my favourite ribs. My husband said that they looked really nice and decided then that was what he was going to have, and I agreed. We were shown to our table without even being able to order a drink first, and when we got there there were two other couples in....and that was it. So much for squeezing us in. I do accept however that some restaurants space out reservations so that waiting is kept to a minimum....but there were only 4 people in the restaurant in total, and two diners in the bar! And then the food arrived! The ribs that had diminished in quantity and size on previous visits had all but disappeared entirely. On our plates there was a single solitary rib ( the menu does say “ribs”) some chips and a pot of some grated soggy vegetables that tasted disgusting ( supposed to be coleslaw) and looked like they had been there for days. When the waitress put the plated down I expressed my concern over the amount of food on our plates to our waitress ....I pointed out that it stated “ribs” not “rib” on the menu, but she said nothing, just turned on her heel and walked away. We ate, paid the bill and left. Neither of the owners were in evidence to complain to, but I don’t think it would have made much difference if they had been. Now we are extremely disappointed that what could be a great little pub, serving good food, which is the heart of a village community, is not the welcoming hostelry this location needs.

We stayed at the Dapper Spaniel in November and were instantly impressed at how friendly and welcoming the team made us feel. We were attending an evening race meet at Southwell Racecourse and when we told the team this, we were instantly offered a lift to the course. Touches like this are so nice especially as the the pub and racecourse are in a rural setting and without a lift we would have had to pay more for a taxi. As soon as we were dropped off Karl mentioned that if when we were ready to go home if we called the pub we could get a lift home. We didn’t expect this but when we called within 10 minutes they were there! This gastro pub is clean and warm. The team are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely, enough not over facing and they use good quality produce. The Guinness was also bang on! Karl and Kat welcome humans and their dogs which is an absolute bonus! I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Superb country pub, nice decor, friendly attentive staff and excellent food. Reasonably priced with plenty to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.

Immaculately clean and very modern minimalist decor. Friendly staff who made our party of 4 plus our dog feel very welcome. Food was delicious, presented beautifully and reasonably priced.

A group of 20 of us went to the Dapper Spaniel for my daughters 30th birthday. They catered very well for a large group and were very organised. The food was beautiful and they certainly keep up the standard when catering for large groups. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It definitely worth a drive out!!!

We chanced upon this restaurant when googling dog friendly restaurants and made a booking over the phone without knowing what to expect. The staff are really friendly, the food is excellent and it has such a lovely feel and ambience. It is newly refurbished and so is bright and clean and is decorated with style. It has a very modern bistro pub feel. They have a few dog friendly tables which are perfectly positioned so you don’t feel excluded from the main area. There is ample dedicated parking just outside. We will definitely be going back!

Really nice place, staff friendly and helpful, nice cooked breakfast and lovely evening meal. Short walk to the race course. Would recommend.

The staff at this newly refurbished bar and restaurant were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. Following an early morning set off from London to make the races, they were happy for us to check in early to get changed, and the restaurant even stayed open late for us to take care of our post-race munchies!! We had a lovely, comfortable nights sleep in their accommodation and a fab breakfast the next morning. We have never been made to feel so welcome - I just wish it was our local!!

Well sorry to say this but arrived at 3 after a very long drive only to find no one about, no one answering repeated knocks on door. Call twice, first time no answer second time answered by someone who sounded as if I’d just woken them, was told then that they’d had maintenance problems and had emailed me. Sorry but been on road all day, not checked emails. Then told you can’t check in till 3, yes but it was already quarter past, she then said ok I’ll come down and see if your rooms ready. Disgusting way to run a business . Didn’t bother to stay, found somewhere more accommodating. Very upset and dissapointed

My wife organised for friends and family to attend the Dapper Spaniel for my 50th birthday. We were a party of 12 and the team looked after us exceptionally well with a fantastic Sunday lunch that was enjoyed by all. Good portions, superb beef (for most of us) and we were really well taken care of. Because we were arriving at the end of service, they asked us to pre-order which meant the service was excellent, despite them serving 60 people before us. A great lunch from a restaurant that has found its groove and great value for money too. Thanks Team Dapper!

Had booked a lunchtime table for 6, for a 13.00 sitdown for lunch. Everyone arrived by 12.30, had a pre lunch drink. Slightly surprising we had to ask for menus at 12.50, and then had to ask for someone to take our food orders at approx. 13.05. We were not advised At any time that there would br a long wait for the food to be served. We had another round of drinks whilst we waited . At 13.45 we asked would we wait much longer for food to be served. We were called through to the restaurant area just after13.50 and we were served our meals.

Nicely decorated restaurant and bar area and super outside garden (though a bit too cold this time of the year for us). Excellent welcome and room made ready earlier than normal. Good sized bedroom and away from the busy areas.

Nice place but we were v. Disappointed after stopping and ordering a cheeky desert during a walk. We ordered Eton Mess and got ‘deconstructed!’ 2 blobs of cream, not set meringue & 5 raspberries

We visited the dapper spaniel today for the first time, and it definitely won’t be our last! The Sunday lunch was outstanding, honestly the best I’ve had. The food is amazing and the service was wonderful. The kids menu is fab, and it’s nice that the children’s food is just as good as the grown ups food (which doesn’t happen often!) The doggy menu is also a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

We visited a few weeks ago and everything was excellent. Food was fantastic and was nice to have a choice of fish size too as the smaller one was just right if you wanted dessert.

First ever visit and from the name etc I imagined it to be a cool/trendy venue.

We had a really lovely meal and overnight stay here. Food was delicious and amazing value. The owners and staff are so friendly. Karl is a pro caterer, so really knows his stuff, and they do lots of special events, plus food and wine/beer deals. We had a great sleep (comfy bed and such a peaceful location), and nice touches in the room like fresh coffee and cafetiere! They're dog friendly and even have special menus for your dog to choose from. Warm and welcoming. We'll be back.

Visited for Sunday lunch. We both had the roast beef. Absolutely excellent. Beautiful soft slightly pink meat, mash as well as roast potatoes with roasted onion and carrot, creamed cabbage, broccoli, green beans and a large yorkshire pud. Generous supply of gravy as well. Couldn’t fault the food. We were the last left when earlier dinners finished and it was slightly disconcerting when the waiting staff started clearing and moving around the surrounding tables. We would have stayed for a pudding but definitely felt we were out staying our time! A wine list and drinks menu would also have been welcome instead of just asking whether we wanted a drink. Well worth a visit.

We decided to try the Dapper Spaniels Sunday dinner after visiting here before for lunch.

We stayed here for one night travelling south to north.

So impressed! We came for a family birthday meal tonight for my father in law. This wasn’t stated at the time of booking but the staff must of over heard us talking, took us to our table where there was a birthday card waiting for him.

My friend & I arrived around 12.35pm, we were greeted by two very friendly staff. One off the young ladies showed us to our table and the service was excellent.

It was a real pleasure to go to the DS last night for a birthday night out.

We wanted to go out for Sunday dinner so my husband googled places to go and The Dapper Spaniel popped up. Pleased it did. We arrived and had a warm welcome. We was shown straight to our table and passed the menu. I am a fussy eater but found dishes I would eat. Food came quickly had bang bang cauliflower to start which was amazing followed by chicken supreme and my husband had the beef. Both was delicious. We shared pudding of the cheesecake which again was very tasty. All the staff were professional and attentive answering any questions we had. The place was decorated lovely and had a nice garden to sit out in. The only downside was we didn’t get to meet Archie, it must have been his day off!!

Delicious selection of pizzas! We tasted them all! Customer service was great, very friendly and welcoming team! We will be back soon I’m sure!

Called in as attracted by the dog friendly aspect of the pub. Really lovely, tasty and well thought out food and menu.

The pub held a special event for Canada Day which I attended with 16 of my family (lots of us are Canadian!) It was fab, the staff went to lots of effort to ensure we had an amazing time. Relaxed atmosphere and fab food, beautiful little courtyard.

Myself and 3 friends visited on a Canadian themed day and enjoyed a lovley bbq that was Canadian themed , then finished our meal with a Nanaimo bar for sweet which was amazing.

My wife and I visited the venue for the first time and enjoyed some amazing food, the featherblade of beef is now one of my all time favourite dishes :) Service was spot on and very fairly priced for the quality of the food - we'll be back! - We eat out a couple of times a week and the food here is some of the best we've tasted.

Rooms are clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Restaurant & pub area are done out well, staff are friendly and the evening meal was nice. Breakfast was great, good quality food and the owner was on hand to make/tailor our breakfast.

We have only just discovered this place had opened, so went to try it out straight away. We were delighted with our meal. Delicious. Cannot fault it in any way. Beautifully cooked and presented, Will definitelybe back.

This place opened up in the neighbouring village. A stones throw away. Literally a 3 minute car journey. And I had absolutely no idea it existed. But I do now. So I'm happy.

Just wanted to review the food cooked by Karl Tyler, the chef at the Dapper Spaniel. We had a meal for 12 planned and cooked for us, for a special family celebration and it was delicious. Karl and his colleague were a delight, friendly, informative and professional. Cannot rate the experience highly enough!

Visited the Dapper a few times now and find the food of a high quality with excellent presentation. Really nice to see use of local produce too. Service is really good, a young team of polite, friendly, well mannered waiting and bar staff. As we live locally we will no doubt be in here quite a lot. Keep up the good work.

Me and partner visited here while staying at center parcs, chosen from the reviews from TripAdvisor and the amazing sounding menu. When we arrived the pub looked amazing and the staff very friendly and efficient. Then being seated at our table we noticed no salt and pepper which at first might have been a very good sign as though the chef is very confident that no more seasoning is needed however our first course was scallops and pigeon breast which we both found massively under seasoned. Then we had beef feather blade and a fillet steak and both ordered a side of triple cooked chips as again we read from reviews that these were amazing however we were massively disappointed again mains undsr seasoned and the chips not fully cooked as we were expecting fluffy crispy chips and that was far from what we got. The staff were good enough to listen to our complaint and take the chips off our bill. In my opinion the menu is a high standard menu which needs someone highly capable to make it work. A bit more effort or training would make a huge difference. On a more positive note the choice of beer and wine was great.

Visited last weekend with my family, the whole experience was fantastic, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was really good and well priced, the lobster risotto was amazing and my husband couldn’t fault the beef featherblade meal. Nice atmosphere inside & will definitely be back as we are local! Lovely addition to the area.

We happened to be cycling by this cute place and decided to stop on a whim. We were so pleased with the service, the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. Owner Kat, was highly engaging, as was our waitress and Kat's partner, the chef, who came out to say hello when he heard that there were Canadians in the pub. If you are in the area, stop by and help these young people get their new enterprise off the ground.

I don't eat out often, don't have many expectations when visiting a gastro pub and rarely feel the need to leave a bad review but I have felt the need to warn people this time. Drive a bit further for more pleasant service and edible food.

Made a last minute decision to go on Thursday night as they had their "Steak Night" promotion running. My wife and I both had rib eye steak, served with big chunky chips, mushrooms, onion rings and tomato along with a nice bottle of red wine (priced at £20 on their wine list, so not cheap plonk) for less than £50. My steak was very well cooked and had great flavour and was perfectly medium rare (as I had ordered), so I heartily recommend it.

Fabulous Gastro Pub, that also welcomes well behaved dogs. Amazing food, although pricey, you do get "michelin star" quality food in a lovely cozy pub. The team are great and make you feel very welcome. Good for a drink or a special occassion. Looking forward to going back for Sunday Lunch very soon.

Popped in for a quick bite last night and was pleasantly surprised. Really excellent and friendly service. We just had a main off the pub classics menu which was tasty and really well priced. Restaurant menu looked really good so will be back to try that. A great addition to the area and I hope the locals support it. They seem to be very attentive to what people think so will only get better

Thought we'd try and support our local under new ownership. Mixed reports to date. The menu and food was outstanding, the waiting on ordinary and the bill was a bit strong. Probably going to be a twice a year treat rather than a monthly family regular.

Visited as a couple mid week. Menu was interesting and food was tasty. But would say it’s expensive for what it is. Also spotlights in the ceiling meant lighting was harsh.. felt like I was eating in my kitchen rather than in a restaurant.

Lovely Food available. My family and I went with friends who had the salmon and the soup for starter which they loved. I had the rib eye steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The salted caramel pudding also tasted delicious and service was decently timed

We had Sunday Lunch at the Dapper Spaniel today for double family birthday celebrations. Great place - wonderful food, friendly, welcoming staff, great kids menu as well as the best roast beef around, and a complementary cocktail for the birthday girl and boy Definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back.......

Four of us ate lunch here and all of us thought the meal was extremely good. The blade of beef was very tender and beautifully presented. Chocolate brownie was very rich but not cloyingly sweet, a good sign of high quality chocolate used. We ate from the a la carte menu but the daily lunch menu looked very good too . Service was excellent.

We live locally, and we're eager to try a dog friendly pub , so we went for Sunday lunch/dinner. It is indeed very dog friendly, but sadly we were very disappointed with our meal. It's quite pricey, 29 pounds each for two courses, but not massively over the top for an established restaurant with well trained staff, but I'm afraid it's no there yet. Staff friendly , but inexperienced , smallest portion of soup i think I have ever been served, parsnips almost raw etc. It's early days so room and time for improvement, but it really can't justify these prices just yet...

We found this place online before it opened and booked for Mother’s Day with our dog coming along as well. They gave us all a warm welcome and showed us to our table quickly. Water and fuss were given to Poppie a separate menu was given for her and although she is a picky eater she loved the doggy pizza. Our food was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The service was attentive but not over the top. We will be back for sure. Thank you for everything.

My fiancee and I had a three course meal at the Dapper Spaniel. The restaurant is modern and well presented, with a welcoming bar area with comfortable seating. The staff were all excellent and so very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Went for a meal a week after this place opened as we live in the village. Nice decor but the tables look cheap - like they were made out of wood from pallets! The food and service were good but the food was expensive. My white wine was not chilled but was quickly changed. No chicken dish on the menu, yet 2 sea food dishes. Not a place you would go to if you didn’t want to cook that night. Maybe for a special occasion. It will be interesting how long this venture survives in the village at these prices. I wish them luck.

On entry to pub for Sunday Dinner greeted by pleasant smiling staff giving a warm welcome.A lovely atmosphere with attentive helpful staff who introduced themselves.Food was of a high quality and well cooked.Water brought to table always a good sign.A minor point would be to provide a small selection of breads to have with some of the starters.All in all thouroughly enjoyable and look forward to returning.Thank You.

Lovely night at The Dapper Spaniel. Beautifully presented food which tasted delicious. Very pretty and tasty cocktails and drinks. A really friendly team! Would highly recommend. We loved it.

Lovely country pub with beautiful food, good selection of real ales and a top quality bar man who does amazing cocktails...highly recommended especially if you have dogs ...
