A real wow experience, we were treated to excellent food clearly created with passion and creativity by chef Michael. An absolute must go to, a very special location with an amazing history.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Been for Sunday lunch here today with my partner and parents the food was incredible! Great atmosphere in Hull’s beautiful & historical pub. The service was lovely and the chef very friendly and happy to chat to us. A special place and a special experience can highly recommend! We’ll be back!

Visited the plotting room a few times now and always found the food to be superb, the staff are friendly and attentive. Michael the chef is very accomplished and accommodating to requests. The prices are very reasonable for the location, Ye old white heart stocks a full bar with an extensive wine list, we are definitely going to try the Sunday lunch next..

This place is amazing! The chef catered to our very detailed and probably quite annoying needs. Everything cooked from scratch and very reasonable prices. The food is amazing and very tasty. The recommended wine with the food was spot on. I can’t wait to go back.

Eaten here a few times now the food is delicious and brilliant value for money, between their new tapas menu to pub menu, Alicarte menu and Sunday lunch their is something for everyone I’ve not left still hungry and a perfect way to start your night, cosy slightly romantic atmosphere and staff and kind smart and caring for all your needs. A must try at least once guarantee you’ll be back for more. Best food in the city centre bar none and convenient opening times.

Just sat downstairs enjoying a Theakston after a great meal upstairs in the resteraunt.Very nice and efficient service.Food is top drawer. Top Ingredients and a bit of imagination turns a menu from good to excellent and really does make simple dishes high end.. Happy with the prices and for me is currently the best food in Hull.

Eaten here 3 times now, and the food doesn't disappoint. King prawn thermidor, whitebait, and scallops with black pudding and risotto are definite favourites. The sunday roast has plenty of tasty veg compared with tasteless boiled options found elsewhere. My only criticism.....crank the fire up a little as the room can be cold in winter. Firm favourite.

My husband and i ate at The Plotting Room last night. We had not booked but the sign said they opened at 5pm.We had a drink downstairs first ( In Ye Old White Heart ) and then went upstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant in the old plotting room is fantastic, atmospheric with it's old panalling and you begin to feel the history.Unfortunately even though it was 5pm the waitress was in the corner still ironing tablecloths !!!!!!!!! there were candles on all the tables unlit and the fire was just being lit by the chef !!!!!!!! We were given a warm welcome and the choice of tables which was lovely. We chose a nice table for 2 near to the little private room they have in the restaurant. Our candle was lit and with the fire now going the restaurant looked great with its now ironed pristine white tablecloths and sparkling glasses. The menu is not vast but had a good choice of pub classics ( fish and chips ) and some more expensive additions such as duck and steak. We chose steak strogonoff and a fish medley which came with salad and we ordered an extra of skin on fries and a bottle of house white. The waitress was very efficient and said if the selection of wine was not extensive enough she could get the pub wine list but it was fine for us and very drinkable at £ 12.95.Whilst waiting for our order i went to the toilet that is for the restaurant and didn't have a very good experience.Unfortunately someone had been very ill in the sink and obviously the toilet had not been checked prior to the restaurant opening.I did tell the waitress and she attended to it straight away which was very good. Now to the food,it was delicious. The steak strogonoff was well seasoned and really nicely presented but the fish medley was a trumph.Beautifully cooked Goujons which were a meal in themselves, squid rings and other bits of fish deliciousness all on a bed of leaves. They were served with 3 different dips which were a very companion. The only thing for me which would have improved the leaves would have been a light dressing which is just my preference. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the surroundings were lovely. We will definitely be back.

Good meeting place for friends. Visited for morning coffee and scones. The cakes etc are home made and absolutely delicious. Our scones had just come out of the oven! The atmosphere is delightful and friendly. Staff always have time to have a quick chat and to make recommendations. It’s a real hidden gem.

Visited the newly opened Hideaway Cafe for breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was packed with bacon, very reasonably priced and high quality, staff friendly, will definitely return.

Popped in for a chippy tea after our usual chippy was closed. Great chips. Proper tasty chips. No little scrappy chips either just good-sized, tasty chips. The Patty was top-notch as well and as someone not from Hull who's just discovering a patty it was one of the best I've had so far 👍
