We love going to the play cafe. They have some lovely classes and magical events and you always get the warmest welcome from staff. Lovely food and drinks on offer too for little ones and big ones. Melody’s homemade quiche is our favourite.

Fantastic little play cafe. We absolutely love bringing our little girl here, we come at least once a week. The play area is great, the staff are lovely and the food is lush. Lovely friendly warm atmosphere. Love that you book online and know sessions aren't going to be overcrowded and that the deposit is redeemable against food and drinks. We had our little girls first birthday here and couldn't fault it. Lizzie x

Took my little boy to the Halloween sensory and he loved it, it was our first time visiting but because everything was so well organised and the cafe had a friendly atmosphere we have since booked in other activities to do over Christmas!

The Play Cafe is wonderful! Following lockdown, our little had had zero interaction with other babies. We started to attend weekly sensory classes, and now regularly attend twice a week, and our little Girl absolutely loves it, She really enjoys the classes and it’s provided her with lots of chances to socialise with other babies - which she loves. Elodie and her team are absolutely amazing. We get a lovely warm welcome every time, and they always take time out to say hello to our daughter, which means the world to us. It’s a lovely place for a coffee and the food is always lovely as well. We’ve made some lovely friends who also attend the classes, which has been got for both mum and baby! We really couldn’t recommend the Play Cafe enough.

I've visited the play cafe on a few times with my daughter, the play area is lovely, clean & secure The staff are all very welcoming, they make the kids feel so at ease & welcome. My daughter loves their character visits, we can't wait to have lunch with Chase in September. The food is also really good. Elodies cakes are amazing 👌

I can’t big this place up enough amazing food, coffee and people. My home away from home with my son! Been coming here for three years and have made lifelong friends and my son loves it here and the ladies who work here are amazing! They offer all sorts of classes and support groups for mums to be and you get coffee and cake! Win win!

Just been to baby sensory this morning at the play cafe in Sunderland, my little boy harry absolutely loved it and I enjoyed an adult conversation for once haha. I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know and I will definitely be booking up again. The staff are so friendly and welcoming the cleanliness is second to none!

The café has been taken over in September 2019 and has changed drastically since then. It is welcoming, bright and clean, the food is freshly homemade and the play area is big enough to entertain babies and toddlers for a couple of hours. I love catching up with my friends there, with a unicorn hot chocolate or a refreshing iced latte and a slice of delicious homemade cake. Yum!

The new owner and the waitress are lovely and very welcoming. We recommend the food, special mention for the Elodie's quiche. Finally, the childrens can play and have fun in a perfect place dedicated for them.

Visited the cafe with a friend and our 4 young children and was a little disappointed from the word go. The place was extremely hot and sticky which put us off ordering any food. Once deciding to stick with a coffee it turned out we weren’t able to order anything after all as no card machine was available (despite signs saying card accepted on the door) so we ended up packing the kids up and walking to a cash point. Once returning a nice young girl explained the till had no change in so we had to wait in the hope another customer would be able to provide this.. again not ideal. The children’s play facilities and ball pool are small but adequate for a short while and would have entertained the children for 20 mins or so, sadly there were allot of 5+ kids diving, jumping and throwing the balls with force at each other and onto the floor so we weren’t able to let the babies enjoy the facilities which had attracted us to the premises in the first place. I appreciate it is the parents responsibility rather than the staffs to control these little darlings however we all know some adults aren’t able to do that.. Having a clear age limit on the soft play section would have made things safer and more enjoyable for everyone at the cafe as some of the children using it were far too old for such a thing. Due to our children being young there was allot of food dropped on the floor as had kids on the surrounding tables, we were in the premises for 1.30hrs and this was still there when we left. Again i would have thought staff would have been aware and on top of the cleaning given the average age of the clientele eating at the caffe. All in all a lovely idea but visiting was more hassle than it was worth.. It was difficult ordering food/drinks and our young kids weren’t able to play due to older children being allowed to use the play area inappropriately. I left the cafe needing a bottle of wine which was not the end of the relaxing afternoon I had in mind. Hopefully things will improve, not my idea of family fun AT ALL.

We wanted food, but unfortunately, it was finished. The bar lady came to show us other places we could eat. She was so kind, we decided to stay for a drink or 3! It was quiz night and the pub was busy, but the lady said there was sausage casserole later on. When the quiz had a break, she made sure we got some casserole and it was really good. A fun evening and the locals made us feel very welcome! Highly recommended - especially on quiz night 😊

Attended a party here last night, Terrible service and drinks. The staff were miserable definitely no service with smiles in this place. I do agree with the last review, the staff need customer service training. Gin with a warm bottle of cheap lemonade for my first drink, Then I got a glass of Warm Prosecco (which I was advised by the staff that the party guests were drinking far to quick so can’t chill quick enough)🥴 Then I received a flat dreg from a different kind of Prosecco bottle which I had to send back. Then I noticed each round of the same drinks I was being charged different prices. When questioned I was told I should be lucky that I have been undercharged the previous time🥴 Good job this place is at the bottom end of the town so it was a 1 off visit, I’ll not have to visit again.

Had been to the Sunday Market at South Shields. We decided to go again to Suzies cafe for a coffee. We found a parking space and my husband went to get them I had a hot soup (vegable) and my husband had a coffee. Both really enjoyable. While were.sitting in the car.a car pulled in a disabled bay, no disabled badge.on. They didn't pay. I'm disabled and .always show my badge. Then another car pulls.up ( we were in a norma bayl as no disable.were free when we parked) along beside us, gets out dad,ma m amdchild. They too didn't pay. When we were coming out spotted two traffic wardens - hope 2 cars get a ticket.
